Dr. Davari is a magician! I was so lucky to be sent to him after I suffered a slip and fall at work. He left my teeth and smile way better than before. I am so pleased with his work that he is now my regular dentist. The office staff is friendly and great as well. Went in for a filling and crown today. I didn't even feel when he numbed me! I can't speak for his office in the last couple of years because I wasn't able to go as I knew I should have, but I was Dr. Davari's patient for over a decade, and I would still be his patient if I hadn't switched insurances and lapsed, thereby having to start over (and they're not taking new patients with my insurance right now). I can, however, share my consistent experiences with him and his office. I started going to him when I was a college student living on a shoestring budget, desperately saving up all I could to fix the many problems in my mouth (fillings, some root canals, deep cleaning - I got my dad's teeth, which are prone to such issues; thanks Dad!). I had also had a very bad experience with a dentist as a teenager, so I was nervous about new dentists and told him so. Dr. Davari was always straightforward and kind. He let me know what needed to be handled first and composed a plan that we followed for a few years until everything was done, going at the pace I could afford. He was very aware of pain management and never left me to suffer. (I also need more numbing than most people and it wears off sooner on me - again, thanks for that genetic legacy, Dad!) He checked in regularly to see how I was doing, explained procedures beforehand patiently, and did not press for anything that was not necessary at the moment. He made suggestions and explained them without undue pressure. I was impressed at the upgrades to his office over the years and enjoyed the ease of the technology as he incorporated it, but I never got the impression that he was letting the tech take over for solid dental knowledge and practice. I always felt like I received excellent care and definitely got what I paid for. I was often able to get appointments quickly (especially when I had last-minute problems develop, like a very old filling that fell out) and the office personnel were always kind and helpful to me. Cleanings were well done and well handled by hygienists. If I had to be referred elsewhere, such as for my root canals, I had excellent experiences with those I went to. I won't forget Dr. Davari or his office. He is the best dentist I've had in my life thus far. I am grateful to have been with them for so long and when I was so economically vulnerable, and I wish them the best every step of the way. read more

I have been a very happy and satisfied patient of Dr. Davari for last seven years. I had been searching for years for a highly skilled and trustworthy Dentist, until I found Dr Davari through a friend's recommendation. Dr. Davari and his staff met all my expectations. The staff is super friendly, the office is very clean and nicely designed. Dr. Davari is very professional, skillful and most importantly for a dentist, he is fast and precise, creating minimum discomfort and pain for the patient. He spends sufficient time to explain and discuss all the issues with the patient. He recommends only the most necessary procedures to be done and I always trust his decisions. I have moved to Riverside since 2011, but I have kept coming back to Glendale to see Dr Davari. I recently had to see another dentist in Riverside due to some pain I was having, I was told I needed a root canal and a crown, which would have cost me about 1200$ - if I had signed up for their discount plan worth another 200$. I am happy I decided to wait and see Dr Davari who assured me the procedures were not all necessary and urgent. He saved me a lot of money by just doing the minimum required procedure with a reasonable price. Because of COVID, I hadn't been back to Dr. Davari's office since November of 2019. But, as always, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by his happy, friendly, and professional staff. His dental hygienists are amazing. I can never choose between any of them as they all do a very thorough and detailed job. Because of COVID-19, his staff sanitized everything thoroughly and down to the tiny nooks and crannies. They were wearing double masks and shields to protect their health and safety as well as mine and that of the patients that would come in after me. His assistants have worked with him for years and have every dental process down perfectly so the whole process is very smooth. Dr. Davari himself has been a dentist for decades and knows his profession really well. He always gives me sound advice that is patient-centered and not financially driven. I trust him completely when he suggests that I either do a procedure or not do it. I hate the numbing shots and I can hardly ever feel the injections he gives. Luckily this time, I did not need any dental work done and that was good news! His staff has been with him for decades and that should tell you something about him as a professional, as a boss, and as a person who is respectful and kind with his staff and his patients. read more

I've been seeing Dr Davari for a year and a half now. I am so relieved after 18 years in the area, I finally found a dentist I can trust. Dr Davari remembers you and what you need to get done, and even what you told him during the last visits and he knows how to break it down to you and explain the work and details so there are no surprises. He just worked on my chipped tooth, took his time, made sure the tooth is fixed right and is the perfect shape and color to match the rest of my front teeth, and the result is perfect. I have thanked the coworker who referred him to me at least a dozen times!! I've started seeing a lot of Dr Davari in this first year. My teeth were in bad shape after the last dentist traumatized me and I had given up on trying a new doctor., hadn't even been to regular cleaning for over a year. Dr Davari's office staff are nice and welcoming. They make conversation with you and they seem to care about you, your well-being and your busy schedule. Let me start by saying that I hate going to the dentist, always have. I went to Dr Davaris office last Monday and my experience was exceptional. They made me feel welcomed from the start. Caroline cleaned my teeth and she did an amazing job she is very knowledgeable and educated on things I was doing wrong. Dr. Davari it's a great dentist. I considered myself a loyal patient, I've been going here for years now. I was very punctual to my appointments and I never missed any of them. I always paid after every procedure was done. Well I previously had an appointment that I missed, and I couldn't call to cancel it. Considering I have two jobs and I'm a very busy woman, I called two days later to reschedule my appointment that I missed. Well I guess now they want to charge me before my procedure is even done. In a dental situation I've never paid before my procedure(s). I don't mind paying it but what upset me was the fact that I've been going there for years now and it seems like they couldn't forgive one missed appointment. But whatever I guess, I'll just take my money elsewhere. read more

I had initially searched on YELP to find a dentist that had good reviews. I recently went to my initial appointment at this dental office. Everything went fine, they even went over the procedure that the doctor had recommended based on the x-rays. When I was given the co-pay amount at the end of the treatment session, I was a little skeptical about how steep they were. Therefore, I informed them that I would call for an appointment when I am ready. Meanwhile, I wanted to make sure that the prices that were given to me were in compliance with my HMO dental plan. I called the front desk and they were able to fax over to me the the treatment plan and procedures which was really helpful when I had to contact METLIFE to confirm the co-pay amount. I called Metlife and sure enough a procedure that Dr. Davari's office was charging me $160.00 was supposed to cost me only $35-40 dollars depending on the whether it was a 3 or 4 surface filling. I called the Dental Office and advised them that I had in fact called my dental insurance and I had given them the exact codes and that there was a discrepancy in the co-pay's. The front desk office put me on hold and returned and said, "I just Spoke to the doctor and Dr. Davari said that, that is our co-pay." In simple terms, he doesn't really care what your dental insurance said, if you are not willing to pay for this you can go somewhere else. She also added, "The doctor said, if you would like he can fax/email over your x-rays." In simple terms, meaning please go find a new facility if you are not willing to pay for the copays. First of all, since when does the doctor take care of billing issues. Second, I refuse to continue seeing a dental office that partakes in unethical billing despite having contracts with HMO Insurance plans. read more

I actually really like the dentist himself, so I feel kind of bad about giving it three stars, I would like to say I'm giving it 3 1/2. The dentist is great - he is very nice, professional, and trustworthy. I add the last because I had gone to someone else beforehand who blatantly lied about the work I'd need. Dr. Davari showed me on my x-rays what needed to be done, and this saved me unnecessary , painful work and hundreds of dollars. The office is clean and modern. The only problem is the dental hygienist that assisted him was terrible on two separate occasions. She did my x-rays the first time, and it was incredibly painful. She'd just roughly shove the x-ray thing in my mouth and force me to bite in incredibly painful positions. It was one of my worst experiences ever in a dental office, and I have two fake teeth, if that gives you any indicator. The second time, when I was getting my filling put in by the doctor, she was actually suctioning my cheek and tongue instead of the moisture in my mouth. This was extremely painful. My cheek was bruised by the time I was done and it stills hurt a few days later. All in all, I recommend the dentist highly, but possibly some feedback on his assistant could school her in the arts of handling patients a little more carefully and less painfully. read more

I had a terrible experience at Dr. Devari's office. I was referred to him by a co-worker and called in to set an appointment. WHen I asked for the office manager to check to see how much my first visit (for X-Rays) would cost, she said it would be free for that and my cleaning. Dr. Devari was a good dentist, so I was happy things were working out. Flash forward to two months later when I'm getting a bill for a hundred and forty bucks. They either didn't check my insurance or just wanted my business, hoping I wouldn't fuss later. Either way,I refuse to be a client of a client that surreptitiously bills you for things they told you they wouldn't at the onset. After reading other yelp reviews, I see that I'm not the first to be taken advantage of. I highly discourage other patients from using Dr. Devari. I liked the man himself, but he has got to get another office manager or straighten out his billing practices. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Davari for several years - I used to visit his Van Nuys office. That place (the building, not his office) was a dump and I can see why he got out of there. The Glendale office is very nice, has modern equipment (digital X-rays instead of the old film x-rays that zap you with about 100 times more radiation). The office staff is excellent - I've never had a rude comment from Suzie and I've never witnessed her treat somebody poorly (though there have been plenty of people that deserved it). Maria is also very nice. The hygienist, Belinda, is very nice, very thorough and very gentle. Dr. Davari is outstanding. He is very thorough, explains the problem and what he will do to fix it. Unfortunately I neglected my teeth as a kid and have paid the price for it. I had a tooth extracted and he put a bridge in. While the temporary was being made he sent me to an endodontist for a root canal. When the endodontist saw what Dr. Davari had done she said loudly, "Wow, I've never seen such beautiful bridge work!" His prices are reasonable, he's got a great chair-side manner and his work is excellent. The only complaint I'd have is the parking can be difficult - street parking only with various restrictions. read more

Generally speaking, I don't remember liking a dentist in my life. However, I'm driving from Oceanside to Glendale for my dental appointments every few months. I should admit that the drive sucks but I got spoiled by Doctor Davari's expertise and his practice. The fact that I am not going to feel anything while he is working and I am not going to have any problem with that tooth after he is done for the longest time, makes the drive worth it. I haven't been writing many reviews on Yelp lately, but I always enjoy doing so when I visit a 5-star establishment that isn't always portrayed as such. Have been visiting Dr. Davari for the past 6 or 7 years or so, and I never mind going back (except for driving extra miles to get there.) Every person in this office has always been friendly and professional. The office is clean & spotless. I have had a very "high maintenance" mouth over the years and it's really gotten better since I started coming here. Only drawback is parking could get difficult if neighborhood is bustling around lunch. X-rays can get abrasive - but try asking nicely to be gentle, that usually works. read more

Let me begin by saying that my teeth are genetically not good; hence, I have been to lots of dentists. Among all the dentists that I have been to the verdict: Dr. Davari is the best. There is no comparison whatsoever. I have been to his office for plethora of reasons and he has never failed me from root canals to regular filling etc. You don't even feel it when he is trying to numb you with the needle. The reality of the situation is that any dentist that takes HMO insurance is going to be horrible. The sad reality of THIS situation is that even amongst the bottom of the horrible pile can be something even worse, something down below the pile that was crushed into the dirt, and that something is this office. Recently I went to dinner at a restaurant and it was expensive and the portions were tiny and the restaurant was empty. Upon later review on Yelp, it turns out that everyone and I mean everyone that reviewed this restaurant had exactly the same complaint, tiny portions and very expensive. Now I am not talking about 50% of the reviews, I am talking about 100% of the reviews. Why do I bring this up? Because at what point dose the owner look at his empty restaurant and over priced food along with 100% complaints and start to put the pieces of the puzzle together? Its an easy fix, lower your prices and the people will come. At what pint will Hamlet Davari, DDS realize that his office manager is such a horrible person that he do something about it? How many negative reviews will it take? Prior to Yelp, having a horrible person at your company or in your office was like having a girlfriend that nobody liked. Not until you dumped her would your friends tell you how horrible a person she is or was. That is not the case any more, thanks to Yelp. But then again, maybe it trickles down from the top. The office policy here of making patients come in for an "exam" and then come back for a simple teeth cleaning is unconscionable. That is your "policy?" Here is my policy, you are horrible people for doing this and I will scream this from the top of the mountain in hopes that you change your "policy" or go out of business. And and what point do we as a society rebel against dentists who insist that you get X-rays? When do the insurance companies stand up and stop paying for this useless process? I know you the dentist have convinced yourselves that it is necessary but I the consumer know that it is not. It's one thing to have offensive policies but combine that with a rude, inefficient, lying horrible person that you have to see and deal with when having to go and do something that most people on the planet hate doing, seeing a dentist. Well that is to much and for that, I have moved on. If I have to see a dentist, at lest the people who run the office should be nice and pleasant and that is exactly what I have found, elsewhere. read more

Hi Dr. Davari. Thank you for your response. The only 'bullish' and rude behavior that occurred during my visit to your office was done by your office manager. There was no yelling involved. It doesn't reflect as though your office is truly receptive to patient feedback, as you seem to come up with an excuse for every criticism you receive (the reviewer below me is a case in point). Regardless of any subjective opinions on what constitutes bullish and rude behavior and/or yelling, the bottom line is: - your office manager refused to follow the protocol you agreed to by becoming a provider for my insurance, which is 1. schedule an office visit for my toddler or 2. request a referral for her to see a pediatric dentist. - the first time she spoke to the insurance rep she lied to her, stating that I refused to bring my child in for an appointment. Do you feel this is appropriate behavior for any of your staff, let alone the office manager? Then she refused to speak to the second insurance agent who called to clarify why she wasn't following protocol. Again, this behavior is wildly inappropriate on her part. It's very sad that an innocent two year old is the one most affected in this case, as a direct result of your office manager's actions. The toddler did nothing to warrant a delay in receiving dental care in an expeditious manner. While you may have a large pt base, all it takes is a handful of people to voice their negative experiences for this to rapidly change. Your response also speaks volumes, and thus far, it seems like you inherently do not care for the overall experience your pts have at your practice. In lieu of owning people's bad experience and attempting to correct it, you make excuses. read more

I was really looking forward to being one of Dr. Hamlet Davari's patients. I had visited the office back in August and I had held off on the procedures that were recommended due to the cost of the co-pays. I wanted to make sure that I was not overpaying for any of the services. I had requested for a treatment plan with the exact codes so that I can call my Dental insurance and confirm the co-pay amount. Unfortunately, I was right. I had confirmed that what the dental office was telling me my co-pay would be ($160) versus what my health dental insurance was telling me ($35-40) was quite a large difference. Every time I need to come in, which fortunately isn't too often, everything from reception to billing is take care of with ease. Wait times are minimal and schedules remain fairly open and consistent. During my last visit, I received a crown and a filling. Great Dr, hadn't been to a dentist in over 15 years and was nervous but he is very friendly and makes you laugh. Made sure i felt no pain and i have to say i now don't think twice about going in for any work. For someone who had 16 cavities, you can tell how nervous i was. I don't understand the reviews people wrote which are negative, this place was great, the staff is awsome, friendly and make you feel like your a friend than just a patient. They should give him the title of friendly surgeon. I just got home from an appointment earlier today for deep cleaning also, they did a great job haven't seen my teeth look this great in years. Doctor Davari office is best dentist office I have ever been and Doctor Davari is the best dentist I have ever known. I have searched and tried many dentists for years and the day (4 years ago) I found Doctor Davari office my search was over. First their reception area is very welcoming and staffs are most friendly people I ever known, you walk to office they all welcome you with smile and by your name like they know you for many years, they always let you in on time with no waiting and they make sure your insurance is up to date and coverage is there. Doctor Davari's hygienist are also very professional and curtious and work in very clean environment, patient comfort is always their first priority.
