Every time I come I wait over an hour. So I ended up leaving and moving to another Dental Office. I had some work done on my teeth and realized that Hamlin overcharges for everything. What cost me over a $100 per tooth, ended up being $35 per tooth at another, WITH THE SAME DENTAL INSURANCE. The wait is unbearable. The technicians are unfriendly. The front office folks are nice. I'm very impressed with Hamlin Dental Group, after weeks of having a toothache I finally made my appointment. Was skeptical at first just because Covid 19 was at its peak and I'm a picky person. I expressed my thoughts to the receptionist, and she kindly assured me of all the precautions they take and even gave me their website hamlindentalgroup.com to watch a short video about all the safety measures they take. Me being so nervous still had my doubts, until I went in for my emergency appointment. I was blown away at how much time, effort, and care they put in making each patient feel safe and secure. Office was not packed at all. They had organized supplies right at the entrance . Staff member checked my temperature, sanitized my hands gave me gloves and new mask. She asked me few questions and at the end asked me to step into what they called alcohol chamber , to sanitize my clothing . WOW, I felt at ease right away and was happy I went in to take care of my problem tooth. Dr reza and staff were even more cautious during treatment and I enjoyed the happy atmosphere after all . What an awesome place this is. The lobby is big, relaxing and very nice looking. The exam rooms are meticulouslly clean and comfortable with state-of-the-art equipment. Last week for the time I visited this Dentest I never ever go again. I made appointment 2 weeks ahead I needed root canal first they called after 1 hour then the doctor show up asked me my problem then he told to the nurse to get exray then told me they will send me to specialist I asked why don't do it said that is not easy couple days later he called me and referred me to another dentest both of them been Iranian when I talked to second dentest told me after 2 weeks come to office they will do consultation again . I'm so glad I came to Dr.Reza for my dental emergency. I was terrified to step out of my house during this covid pandemic especially visiting a dental office. To my surprise I was shocked how organized the office set up was. Right when I walked in I was screened and sprayed with rubbing alcohol hands and bottom of shoes. They also gave me booties and gloves for protection. All these special precautions helped with my nerves. I was called in the back pretty quickly and Dr.Reza did his exam and said I needed a root canal. The lady by the name of Sonia explained step by step what a root canal was because I wasn't sure. She answered all my questions and was nice to fit me into the schedule to start treatment. During the process Dr.Reza was so kind and kept asking if I'm okay. I felt very comfortable. Before I knew it the treatment was done. He gave me a prescription Incase I needed it for pain. Later on that evening someone called me to check on me. I felt like that was such a sweet gesture. I'm happy I went and finished my treatment. I finally don't have pain and aren't scared to return if needed. read more

I was scheduled to have a Root Canal done today February 26, 2020 at 3:00pm. This appointment was set weeks ago and they even called me yesterday to confirm the appointment and that I would be coming in. Now I am here on my appointment date. I am called in by the assistant and am told to take a seat in the dentist operating chair. I was told the dentist would be in soon to attend to me. A few minutes later the Dentist (Dr. Reza - I think that's his name) comes in to the room and tells Sonia that he doesn't have time to perform the Root Canal on me today and tells her to reschedule me. That's very poor service on the part of the Dentist. Let alone saying that in the presence of the person that you were about to operate on. Just because you're standing behind me while I'm sitting in the dental chair it doesn't mean I can't hear you. Have some respect for your patients and tell them yourself to their face as to why you don't have the time or don't want to make time to operate on them. What's the point of scheduling and appointment for a Root Canal if on the scheduled day that I am present at the office you're just going to change it and reschedule me? That's very poor business ethics. I've experience better service from this location in the past but they really dropped the ball on this one. read more

I am leaving this review about 8 years after me and 4 of my family members visited this office, Dr. Reza, for almost 2 years. We had just moved to the US and had an insurance that covered anything unlimited. But we thought this is America and we won't get abused and so we trusted any treatment they suggested. I, personally, at the age of 19, got 3 root canals with crowns. Forget it that every time we had to be in that office for at least 4 hours regardless of what they were gonna do. I got fillings in another 8 teeth and it is not like I grew up in wherever where there was no proper dentist. I actually had yearly check ups and was taken care of with straight white teeth with no pain but suddenly had to fix more than half of my teeth. We were dollar signs to this office and have learned to really worry about which dentist to see. Now I am writing this review because one of the many root canals that this person has done for us, broke (on my mom). Please note that multiple of the crowns had to be re-done but those are OK at this point!!!Now our current dentist tells my mom that a big hole was drilled in her tooth with half of it wrongfully left empty and a screw was placed that was a mismatch to the unnecessary and reckless big hole so it broke the tooth and now the tooth is all infected and needs to be removed. So there you have it. We got very many unnecessary treatments and most of them were done recklessly and needed to be redone. I wish I could legally hold them accountable. read more

I had a horrible experience here and wouldn't recommend this dental office to anyone. First of all the outside door when you walk in slams so loud it almost makes you jump. I walk in for my appointment and walk up to the front desk. A huge desk only one girl sitting there looking down texting on her phone. Did I mention how loud the front door is? I'm sure she knew someone walked in. I stand there for almost a whole minute before I said "Hello?!" And she looks up and says someone will be with me momentarily. Not good sign in my book. The decor is horrible. Even my 6 year old son said "this place is beat up huh?" Lol! Honestly the mismatch furniture looks like it was picked up on the side of the road. Not a welcoming or nice space. There are before and after pictures all over the place. Quite large ones to be honest. Not a very nice thing to see honestly. The actual Dental room is ok. The equipment used for X-ray and initial exam is ok. Next my son came in. Of course he's nervous. He's only 6 and not used to the dentist. The lady who did his cleaning had zero personality or bedside manner for kids. All she had to do to make him feel comfortable was joke with him just a little and his experience would have been great. I was very disappointed in that. I get that it's not a kids only dentist but STILL. I even said something to her like maybe if you can be more Fun this will go smoother. Fffwd to my second appointment for a deep cleaning. I rearranged my entire schedule to fit in this appt. I get there and I'm told that there was a scheduling problem and that I couldn't be seen. I was so mad. But then I realized everything happens for a reason and I decided I wouldn't go back to this place. read more

The worse Dental office ever. I went in for a consultation on swollen gums. The doctor was understanding and recommended I do deep cleaning in the lower left area only which I did only to experience more pain and a cut on where my wisdom tooth was removed many years ago. Due to this cut, I have been experiencing a great amount of pain and I went back in today to have a new doctor take a look at my cut and I got yelled at by him in front of his assistants because he said I had to go back when the original doctor who did my deep cleaning take a look at it since he didn't want to take part of what the previous doctor had done to me. He made me cry and said that I had only two options to either come back or see a gum specialist to sew me up. I was so upset and stormed out. I will never lay foot again at this office. Talk about a traumatic experience...wish I had read the previous reviews. read more

Every time I make an appointment here they take about 2 hours to see me. Their hours are very limited especially if you work a regular 9-5 and even though they say they're open on Saturday's, it's only once a month and at a different clinic. Do Not Take Your KIDS HERE. HORRIBLE PLACE!!! I took my 1 year old and 3.5 year old here. The wait was so long. I thought they would be faster, seeing that I have two lil kids, but no. Then when they finally see my daughter, the one year old, they took a quick look and said everything is good. That's it. They are going to get paid by my insurance for that? That made me wait an hour for that? Then the next visit was for my son, he is 3.5 years old. I thought for sure they have to do more than a visual for him. They try to do the same thing, but I asked what about the cleaning, then she did a lack luster super quick cleaning. I brush his teeth better at home. This place does not care. Just wants you in and out. What I don't understand is if that want you in and out, Why such a long wait still??? For my visit, it was on the same day as my daughters. They did a horrible quick cleaning too. After the dentist leaves, the negociator comes in. She tells me all these things that I need done, and all of them are not covered by my insurance. I felt like I was at a car dealership, getting uphold on all these features I did not need. I never felt like this at the dentist before. Think twice before coming to this place. read more

A couple times I have arrived on time for my appt. only to discover that the Dr. will be coming in an hour later or more. Or, I have already taken a day off to accomodate the appt only to have the office call and request that I reschedule. There have been a few other incidents as well. I have been going here for a very long time. I never knew that dentists can cheat you until I was forced to go to another dentist. Here is how the story goes. I broke my tooth and needed a cap, I was quoted $1500 here at this dental establishment. The price seemed very excessive so I went out and shopped around as I was advised by the dentist who told me I can get a cheap cap instead. First of all there is no cheap cap, they are all the same on the outside. The only thing that changes on the inside, it can be either metal or gold and that makes absolutely no difference to the quality. The dentist proceeded to make me feel guilty and proceeded to telling me that all I have done is have my teeth cleaned in the previous years, that I had no additional work done. When the dentist doesn't tell you you need something I didn't know you should ask for something extra! I never really needed anything until I broke this tooth. I found a very reasonable dentist who is doing the same job for $200 now you would think something is not right because the price difference is tremendous. But I assure you it is my third time going to this dentist as he is working on this tooth and is doing everything by the book. I could not be happier. This new dentist proceeded to tell me stories about price gouging and dentists taking advantage of patients. He says he sees it all the time where they recommend work that is completely unnecessary. I am truly in shock at the price he wanted to charge me here at Hamlin dental group $1500 for a cap!!!!!! It's unfortunate that you have to shop around for a dentist as you do for clothes. I will only be coming here for my tooth cleaning because it is covered by my insurance. Any work that needs to be done I will never have done here as you are cheaters ! read more

I have been a patient here for over 13 years. I was still a kid when I started going here and their dental services were always great and they always made me feel comfortable. However, over the past couple of years their services have not been very good. It takes months just to get an appointment for a simple cleaning or check up. The dentist isn't even the person performing the cleaning it's an assistant, so why it takes so long to get an appointment is beyond me. Besides, their clientele has dropped in the past couple years so the wait time doesn't make sense anymore. Plus once you get there, you still have to wait another hour! You don't see the dentist the entire time until after you get everything done! It's absolutely crazy! They do an excellent job and their pricing is great but their service is really bad. read more

Beware of this place. First time visit for a exam & cleaning at this office. I had a very long wait before I was seen. Most places you have to wait, but not this long. That is not what I'm upset about. Once I was seen, they did X-rays. After X-rays, I waited another 10-15 minutes before the doctor came. He came looked at the X-rays and teeth and then walked away. Then the negociator comes in and tells me I need a deep cleaning that is not covered by your insurance. I ask, how much it cost? She said $540. I said, no thanks, I'll just get the regular cleaning this time. She said, No, only deep cleaning or nothing. The dentist will not do it. I ask why, she just kept saying, the doctor will not do it. She had a lot of attitude. She seems like she is very experienced in her negociating role, I mean bullying role. My insurance covers the X-rays, exam and cleaning for sure. How can they deny it? Trying to force me to do the deep cleaning. This totally seems like a SCAM. They probably use this tactic on everyone, also up-selling and bullying you to do extra services. This is not the right way to do business. I get two cleaning a year through my insurance, they used up one. So I have to wait 6 months before getting another cleaning. They are going to get paid by the insurance for services never provided. read more

Do not come here for a cleaning. The dentist looked at my x-rays and my teeth and decided that I only needed polishing. I believe I saw Dr. Vafadar. He took a pick and removed plaque only from my bottom two front teeth. I came home and felt very confused. So I called the dentist office the next day to reschedule another appointment. I explained to the receptionist that I did not receive a cleaning and so she scheduled a cleaning with another dentist. When I came back for the appointment. Dr. Reza asked me if I had a heart murmur, as it appeared on my medical history. I explained to him that I a murmur as a baby and I grew out of it. He said that in order for him to do a deep cleaning he needed a letter from my physician stating that I no longer had the murmur. Without going on and on, this was a process. I received the letter went back, made another appt., then they rescheduled me again because the Dr. cancelled on me. Anyway, when I finally see Dr. Reza, he does a drive by cleaning. The nice thing is that he numbed my gums. I don't remember ever having such a quick cleaning, plus I noticed some plaque remaining on my teeth. He said that my teeth were fine and to continue doing what I've been doing. With that mentioned, I will not be returning. Maybe it's because I have government insurance that I was treated this way. It seems as if they specialize in Cosmetic dentistry which is shown by the pictures on the walls. Dr. Reza performed most of the work. read more
