There are hundreds of other wineries that are a better choice to visit than HammerSky. I visited this weekend with a group of 10 women. We prepaid when we made the reservation. Upon being seated, we were given the opportunity to saber a bottle of sparkling which was then served to us. We had the rose followed by the Merlot. It was 90 degrees out which didn't really make it red wine weather. Also unappealing was the servers description of it, "you'll likely need food." There were supposed to be 4 more red wines included in the tasting, it was so bad that we asked to stop and opt for bottles of the lighter wines instead. We were told that the cost of the 3 bottles we ordered would be drawn from the prepayment we made. Fast forward to closing out the bill and we are charged $300+ and they couldn't give us an itemized receipt. "Sorry internet is down. Come back later or we will email you" The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths literally and figuratively. For the price and the quality of the wine, Hammersky is no where near the headache. read more

HammerSky is a beautiful winery with a stylish and warm tasting room. Stephen and Jeremy provided our group of ten with amazing and customized service. They set up a special table in their tasting room where we were able to rest and snack along with a great tasting menu. I particularly loved their sparking Syrah. They also appreciated our disco cowgirl outfits and helped make our time there special with fun tunes and dancing encouraged. Totally awesome experience couldn't recommend more. Me and a group of friends went to HammerSky for a tasting. Good time until I went to checkout. My total was $60 and I paid with cash, $70... the manager Steven, took it upon himself to "recommend" (in a very rude and condescending way) that he was going to keep my change for a tip... when I disagreed he threw it back on me as if I were the one in the wrong.... Very confrontational/unprofessional... In the end it isn't the winery, it was the staff. Made me felt compelled to share. read more

Unforgettable vineyard. Delicious Chardonnay. Picturesque views. This was an unexpected visit as we passed this place by on our way to an olive oil farm. When we showed up we were the only ones here and it could not have been more perfect. Let's begin with their incredible 2019 Chardonnay. It includes aromas of golden apples, Meyer lemon zest, & pineapple with hints of vanilla, crème brûlée, brioche & honey. The flavors range from peach to starfruit & sweet cream butter, with a rich mid-palate texture and a bright finish of green apple. Absolutely incredible! What peaked my interest was the historic white house built in 1904 that can be seen from the road. Today it serves as an inn and is available for rent. It sits on 50 acres along with an ultra-modern tasting room. The patio off the tasting room is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some wine or have a picnic. There are far more well-known wineries in Paso but for me it's not about popularity. I prefer things off the beaten path, places offering a much more intimate experience. read more

We just stayed at the Hammersky vineyard, loved the gourmet kitchen , even the squeaky floors ( no money can buy the antique feels from 1904) , all of us had a memorable time & rekindled our friendship since kindergarten time . A BEAUTIFUL, HISTORICAL, and ABSOLUTE MUST STOP on the Vineyard Drive wine trail within the Templeton Gap. The vintages at Hammer Sky are robust and full bodied, yet surprisingly easy drinking. Their estate varietals are most definitely note worthy! read more

We are all adults here and know how wine club memberships usually work. We sign-up and typically get a quarterly or bi-annual allotments. Before each allotment is shipped, we get an email to let us know that allotment is being prepared and let them know of any additional orders we would like to make and changes, including change of shipping address. Emails from the vineyards typically include when the changes need to be made by and when they are going to start shipping the allotments. Simple, right? I signed up for the vineyard's Estate Club membership back in September 2020 while visiting the vineyard for the first time. This vineyard is one of the best properties... I will say Instagram-perfect. Their wines? I loved their Detained and Straight de Barrel 2018 (aka: Doug's Barrel Select). So why the one star rating on a lovely vineyard that makes pretty darn good wines? It all started on July 7. I received my not-so-usual email that my membership allocation is being prepared and that the shipment is being processed. It states, "Please take time to read this email completely to ensure your shipment is correct." I noticed that my shipping address needed to be updated. I emailed them my new address on the same day... Crickets. I reach out to their Instagram account via direct message later that evening... Crickets. Next day, I cancel my membership via email... Crickets. A day later, I receive a direct message via Instagram. No mention of my inquiry about changing my shipping address. Instead, it is for their upcoming concert event. A day later, I receive the same direct message about their upcoming concert event. While the vineyard was crickets on my request to change shipping address on the order they already charged my credit card for, I cancelled the membership via my account on their website. I received an auto-response to let me know that there will be additional steps and that they will email me as soon as they can. On July 15, I received an email with "We never cancel our members, that's far too permanent and you don't cancel family." Another part of the email reads, "We want to thank you again for being such an important part of the HammerSky family; we have appreciated all of your support. If there's ever anything we can do for you please don't hesitate to reach out, we're always more than happy to help out." So, I responded to the email to try once again to inquire about changing my shipping address. And as of July 19 at 10:18PM PT, crickets from the vineyard. Ooooh! I did receive another direct message via Instagram on July 17 about an event at the vineyard. My credit card was charged $238.29 on July 8. The vineyard made by my membership inactive so it will be easy for me to order shipments if I ever change my mind according to the vineyard. However, they have not responded to a shipping address change request made on July 7. 12 days later, I don't even know when the shipment will be shipped. The vineyards usually lets us know when the allotments will be shipped by, but their email didn't even include that. All I've gotten from the vineyard are a bunch of crickets and marketing on their events. So, I guess the vineyard considers its members as a part of their family. The vineyard may not cancel family, but they apparently give their family silent treatments when they need service. Instead of being their family, can I be their customer so I can actually get some customer service? read more

I would like to take a moment to praise the tasting room Manager Stephan who took the time to contact me to work out an issue I had with my club shipment. When the roads washed out due to the storms, the tasting room closed and unfortunately couldn't reopen as soon as they had hoped so I wasn't able to pick up my order. Needless to say we were having a difficult time getting our wine but when I sent an email Stephan immediately reached out and I couldn't be happier with the Customer service he provided. Things have been difficult these last few years for the wineries and now with the storms, the wineries have a few more issues to contend with and I think we all should be understanding and look at the positive...this rain will bring beautiful green hills in Paso Robles and the wine will be fantastic! My family and I recently attended a wedding at the vineyard and it couldn't have been more beautiful. As guests of the wedding, we were able to have a trailer placed on site to camp in for duration of the festivities. Waking up on such a beautiful property was a wonderful perk. HammerSky really disappointed us last weekend. We're members who were entertaining family in Paso. HammerSky has a really beautiful setting and it was definitely one of the wineries we wanted to show our family. We reserved our tasting for 5:00 PM on a Saturday. We arrived promptly and the girls who were checking people in told us "sorry, we close at 4:30 PM." We were kind of perplexed...the website allowed us to book a 5:00 PM tasting and we'd had it booked for at least a week now. The girls responded, "ya, we don't know why the website is allowing people to book tastings after hours, it's happened to a few people now." If you know the issue is happening, then why aren't you fixing it, and how come nobody called us earlier in the week to move the reservation? We looked around and saw quite a few parties still enjoying their wine -- so clearly the winery wasn't going to be closing immediately. You'd think they'd still serve us, even if it was just for 30-minutes or so. Nope. They just stated, "well we might have some openings tomorrow?" Ya, that wasn't going to work, we already had Sunday mapped out and scheduled. I get really annoyed when you spend good money on a wine membership and don't receive a little extra care. It's like, why even be a member at that point? If you look at their website, it still shows available bookings at 5:00p, 5:30p, 6:00p, 6:30p, 7:00p. Even the Yelp page shows that they're open until 7:00pm. There are TONS of wineries in Paso that offer a much better member experience. We'll be canceling our membership here and re-investing those dollars somewhere else. read more

Greg and I are members of Hammersky and recently spent two glorious nights in The Farmhouse on the vineyard property! Steven hosted us in the members lounge to an incredible tasting in the afternoon. We watched the sunset over the hills of Paso Robles. The entire experience is beautiful!! We cannot say enough about the wines and hospitality! This is a hidden gem in Paso Robles wine country. The setting reminds me of an Italian villa - the wines are great, the hostesses are very friendly (especially Magdalena) and the location is within 15 minutes of downtown Paso Robles. read more

Im not writing about anyone else but Hammersky. Its true Melanie gave us two options 1) You split the property with another bride, but dont worry they wont be around your dinner 2) You lose 1000+ dollars and walk away. THERE WAS NO OFFER OF A FULL REFUND WITH A SO SORRY YOUR YEAR OF WEDDING PLANNING JUST WENT TO SHIT WITH COVID. Just a deal with this orrrr give us money and leave. Geee, which option do we choose when its not even our money. We are in contracts with other venues even though we are married now in 2021, but I have no issue with them. Due to covid we eloped last year. Im still giving my wife the wedding of her dreams even though covid took us another route in 2020. Theres no lies or twists. Theres no problems with the other vendors/venues. My poor parents, who arent regulars in the wine scene, spent over 2K dollars alone on wine for our rehersal. Melanie had no problem with them spending that much for the 30 people showing up. Hammersky, or Melanie because I am not really sure at this point, still wants the money outlined in the contract. I dont know if she gets commission from ripping people off or what? Take the money, but I wont take this review down and let someone else end up where we are because of an unforseen pandemic. My wife and I along with my parents dont get business bailouts from the government. That money still isnt good enough I guess. It is a beautiful location, the wine is okay, but remember money is priority with this place. The customer service is all smoke and mirrors when it really matters. Honestly, I was really excited to come to this vineyard. One of my childhood friends had just gotten engaged here and had the best things to say. I saw that I could make a reservation if I put down a $10 deposit that the website said you could apply to your purchase.  Turns out I didn't read the fine print: the deposit can only be applied towards wine purchases and NOT tastings, making the cost of our tastings $25/person.  Plus when we got there we were told we could sit anywhere that didn't have a "reserved" sign on it....so what exactly did I get for that $10? The tasting itself was pretty disappointing. Our server didn't have much to say about any of the wines, except that one was one for less refined palates and for beginner tasters. It tasted like grape juice and was $50/bottle.  The other wines weren't much better- the one we enjoyed the most was a pretty average tasting cab that was priced at $100.  In short our experience felt quite overpriced, and there wasn't a single bottle we remotely considered buying.  The view at the winery was nice but considering the price, wine, and service there are just far better options available in the area. read more

I am very disappointed with HammerSky Vineyards. I was a member until recently. On 7/8/22 I was charged for my wine allocation. On 7/21 I requested my wines be shipped and confirmed my address with them by email. I called for 4 days (no answer & no voicemail option) in September. On 10/13 spoke with Augie, he said he would get the wines shipped ASAP and I cancelled my membership with them. On 12/2 I called again & left message with someone. I received a call from Hugo stating he would email Doug, the owner, and cc me on it requesting a refund of my July payment in which I never received wines for. It is now 12/7 and I haven't received my refund nor email. FYI, I had emailed the owner, Doug, 3 times and never received a reply. read more

I thought for sure I had written a review on HammerSky since my wife and I were married on property in 2017. Well shame on me for being so late with this. Since the first time we came to Paso Robles we fell in love with the area, finding this gem of a vineyard was as if the stars aligned for our wedding. My wife found HammerSky on Pinterest and we decided to visit the area to see if it was truly the right place for us to get married. The vineyards and view are breath taking, the farmhouse where you can stay is rustic, modern and classy. If you are just visiting to try the wine they are some of the best in the Paso Robles area. The straight to barrel blends are some of my all time favorites along with the sparkling wine and Rose'. Service here is tremendous and we are thrilled to have the option to always come back to a place where our marriage began. read more

Don't go here for a wedding venue ever. It will end up costing you a bunch of money and you will never get worth what you paid. There are so many beautiful venues in Paso Robles that are the same price that will come with better service, better staff, and a nicer property for your beautiful day. I'm one of the many cases that backed out due to the venue property not being up to par from what was promised, which led to a whole legal battle. A real gem! Nate and Stephen made our experience wonderful. They accommodated a very large group (17 Airstream AI 19s and over 30 people). Our visit was arranged by one of our group members. We took over the lower patio tasting fine wine and enjoying the views. I am a Harvest Host member and chose to spend the night in the most beautiful site on the premises. What a kick..... our group had a great day for Easter. Such a beautiful setting with expansive lawns, lots of chairs, w/ plenty of choices where to sit in this beautiful serene setting. I felt like I was in a movie set) There was an Easter egg hunt, live music.... The wine was off the charts!!! "Extraction" was my favorite: if I have to pick one. The hospitality; very pleasant causing us to not want to leave. Stephen was so welcoming and engaging even though they were so busy. We spent several hours here because it was so good all around. (Only suggestion is bring a picnic- it's such a lovely setting and you're gonna want to stay a while and it's a bit of a drive to anywhere to get food ) Enjoy!! read more

Live music, beautiful, well-kept grounds plenty of space for picnicking, perfect weather and the staff couldn't have been more congenial and welcoming to our family. They have some very good wine located here at Hammer Sky which is located on the back roads of the Paso/Templeton area and off the beaten path. Never been here before but we came today. Melanie was very friendly and personable and the wines she offered were excellent. They also have a 320-year-old Oak Tree on their property which is awesome to look at. I have visited over fifty (50) wineries over the past 12 years in the Central Coast. Hammersky should be avoided at all cost. First, their website (unless recently updated) offers the customer to reserve a traditional tasting for $20.00 per person. That is a "bait and switch." I reserved a tasting a few weeks ago and after the tasting was charged $40.00 person. Two days later I called the winery, complained and requested a refund of $20.00. I waited a few days and called again and left a message re status of my refund. After more than two weeks no one from the winery has called or offered a refund. The people who own/manage this winery should be put out of business. In my personal opinion they have no morals and no ethics. read more

I was one of the many brides whose wedding was disrupted due to covid. When my now husband and I first chose Hammersky to be the place we would get married we could not have been happier. If covid had not happened I hope I would not be writing this review. Unfortunately everything that happened once covid hit has left us in a terrible position and we are actually not sure where to go from here. Like many covid brides to be, we were forced to postpone our wedding twice before finally deciding to hold a very very small event. Doing this left us with a discrepancy in our initial wedding deposit where we had to find a way to use a remainder of about 8k that we had already given to Hammersky. We agreed that a fair solution would be for us to stay at the accommodation (aka the Farmhouse) on the property (which costs about 1k per night) until we had used up our remainder. Without going into detail, on our first planned stay the accommodation was in great disrepair and we were not able to even spend one night there. This lead us to once again need to find a solution for the remaining money. Because Hammersky had technically broken their contract with us, we had the option to demand all the remaining money back. However, the owner told us he did not have that available and would be very strapped until the coming April when the season picked up again. He offered to pay us half in Hammersky wine and the other half would be a cash refund. Half of 8k is almost 7 boxes of wine! We definitely had no need for this but we agreed to his offer and even gave him until May to pay us the cash refund since he had specified that he would be doing better by April. We thought this was very fair and even generous on our end. The wine shipment arrived and everything was fine until May crept closer and we had heard nothing from Hammersky or the owner about the remaining payment. The week leading up to May I reached out via email (how we had corresponded the whole time) and heard nothing back. I emailed again and called the winery to confirm that the owner's email was still active and told it was. I was also told that they would let him know I had been trying to reach him. Well, we have now hit May and I have still heard absolutely nothing. I am told the only available next step for my husband and I to take is to sue, but of course no one wants to do that unless absolutely necessary. Maybe I am being obtuse because it makes me so sad to have this be the memory I end up with from the place I fell in love with initially and planned for my wedding day. If anyone has had any similar situation or incident that may be of help please let me know! To be honest, our view of Hammersky is so low at this point perhaps there is nothing to salvage anyway. If you are a bride looking to get married here I would advice against it. I realize our story will luckily not apply to future brides since covid restrictions have lifted, but please know that I have left out so many horrid details of the lack of professionalism and complete disorganization we encountered. As beautiful as the property is, it is not worth the risk of having your big day full of chaos. read more
