Went here at the beginning of this month with my son and I've been meaning to leave a review! Honestly loved our stay. The staff was very friendly, and accommodating. Parking lot was huge with plenty of options as to where to park but we often got lucky each day we returned from our outings and were able to park right near the front doors. They have an indoor pool which is a HUGE plus for me & they keep their towels stocked plus there's plenty of seating. Free breakfast every morning with a good selection of what you can eat from eggs hard boiled or omelette style, bacon or sausage, potatoes, make your own waffles, yogurt, etc. Rooms are up to date, clean and smell good when you walk in. Our room had a great working A/C which came in handy on the hotter days. Bed was comfortable and getting extra pillows wasn't an issue at all - they brought them to our door within minutes of me asking. They also have a small convenience store located right next to the front desk which has all sorts of snacks which I found very convenient (: definitely would stay here again! read more

Me and my wife stayed here while we were visiting Monterey. When we entered the hotel we were greeted by staff. Staff were friendly and very polite. We were helped immediately and were showed where our room was. The room was clean, spacious and very accommodating. The mattress was soft and very comfortable. We woke up in the morning and went downstairs for breakfast. The breakfast was good and very filling. If you visit Monterey this is a nice hotel to stay at. read more

Nothin much else to say about the rooms The best part of this place was the complimentary breakfast. There was a variety of items to choose from, fresh waffles, bagels, muffins, eggs, omelettes, boiled eggs, and sausages. The waffles were nice and light and the english muffin made a great addition to my plate. Id say the best thing was the sausages. They were extremely good and cooked to perfection. Room was extremely spacious. Large California king bed and pull out mattress. Our suite was the size of a small studio apartment. Shower had several setting adjustments, stand up with no tub. Everything was clean and updated. The tv was big and had streaming services available. Highly recommend staying here, it's across from a Walmart which is convenient. No resort fee but parking is 10 dollars a night. Free breakfast has a variety of cold and hot options. When it's free there's no real reason to complain. It's buffet style so all you can eat, can't beat that in this economy. Stay here if you're in town. read more

Solid 4 stars, the reason not 5 is usual hotel issues of noise, which plagues most low level mid level and even high level hotels. This one in particular the doors ARE SO LOUD when they shut. Ridiculously loud. Also can hear people above you walking around. Annoying. I'm also an extremely light sleeper so that also plays into my issues (and yes I sleep with ear plugs) Now let's get to the good part.... We would definitely come back to this hotel, brand new obviously has its perks, everything is clean and in great shape. I booked a studio, one king bed, desk in middle, couch, refrigerator, microwave, and wet bar. Perfect for my hubs and the little monsters (two fur babies they allow for a 75$ one time fee which i felt was reasonable) The bed was comfortable, not too soft not too hard. Pillows are ok. Room was a great size for us it was room 326 and was at the end of the hallway next to stairs. Large open bathroom with closet inside. Provided soaps, shampoo, conditioner. Barn sliding door from bedroom to bathroom has full length mirror. There are built in drawers under the area of the TV I just noticed while sitting on couch writing this. How smart! The colors and artwork in the room and throughout the hotel are aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. Provides continental breakfast, the star of that show is the waffles. YUM. I could pass on everything else but it is a decent choice of egg white frittata, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, pastries, bananas/oranges etc. also snacks for purchase in the lobby. Staff was all friendly. There is a dog area but it does have bark/wood chips. Doggie bags provided. Dog gifts given at lobby upon check on! Includes a toy and on the go water bowl! There is only one entrance at this time which makes it a little annoying to get back out onto the freeway but no big deal just thought I'd mention the logistics, it does look like there is a second entrance it's just blocked right now. Across the street is a 7/11 and about 3 minutes away is a Starbucks. Not too much more right around here but we didn't explore much in Marina as we were here for Monterey/Carmel everything we were looking for was an easy approx 10-20 minutes away. I do have to mention the hotel is right off highway 1, but I did not hear highway noise which is a big plus. Would return again! read more

This review is not for staying there, but rather for renting out 2 conjoined conference rooms for a gathering. They removed the barrier for us to make it like one big room. We were very happy with how it turned out. They supplied the tables and chairs and we supplied our own table cloths, flowers and food. I think they also supplied coffee, creamer and sugar. It was the perfect space for about 50-60 people. Besides whats shown in my pics, after the pics were taken we also set up several chairs along the wall for additional seating. Pretty sure we had a total of about 60, maybe even 70 people. Plenty of parking. Convenient. Can park close to the door so that you don't have to walk far to your car to get your party supplies. Renting this was reasonably priced and I highly recommend it! read more

This was our 2nd stay at the Hampton Inn in Marina. Say what you want about chain hotels, this one is clean and well run. First off, the hotel is very new and for anyone who has stayed at a Hampton Inn before, it features the large new rooms with sofabeds and large desks. It was great for us since we have a daughter with lots of energy. Speaking of kids with energy, the indoor pool is very nice and well kept. We enjoyed going for a swim even thought it was December. The breakfast was standard for the chain, but everything was kept well stocked and fresh. The staff is terrific and when we asked for extra pillows, they were sent to our room within minutes. For the value compared to the amenities, there really is no better choice in the area in my opinion. read more

I make a point to always try and stay at Hampton Inn/Hilton if I can. Usually the comfortable beds, clean, functional rooms and friendly staff is well worth the price I pay. I booked a large room in Marina after a very long exhausting day in Monterey. This was the first "vacation" I've had solo in years. I was looking forward to enjoying that special light that one can experience on the coastal towns but upon entering the room I found that the black out curtain was inoperative...I called down but maintenance was gone for the day. The hotel was booked (everyone trying to get away from the 108* temps over in the valley! I paid $310 for the room. I was willing to let the curtain thing go and head to bed. But then I found the Fan feature on the thermostat was also inoperative and I wouldn't be able to use that for white noise and air circulation. This was definitely not ideal. At this point, I am tired and I just drift off to sleep. Imagine my surprise when I wake up at 5:30 am to the sound of a child above me jumping off of furniture and landing directly above where my bed was in the room below. I called down to the desk and asked nicely if maybe they could call up and ask if they could stop the jumping. The jumping went on for an hour and I finally gave up on getting any sleep, got up and came down to the front lobby. I asked the front desk if there was anything they could do. I have never had this kind of experience at a Hampton before. Ever. She said she would take $50 off of the $310 room. While I appreciate it and thanked her I can't help but feel that when not one, not two but three pretty large things go wrong with the room perhaps one should be comped a little more than $50. This was the worst sleep I've ever had in a Hampton Inn and was beyond disappointing. I spent my first vacation in 5 years unable to sleep in the very expensive room I booked. I would also like to add, I am a very frequent guest. I have stayed in Hampton Inn (Patterson) long term last year when I was house hunting...completely different experience!!! The positive thing that I will say is I had a lovely conversation with the staff member who was working in the kitchen area. She was so friendly, she kept the breakfast and coffee fresh, the counters were absolutely clean and her friendly conversation made me feel a little bit better after experiencing such a rough stay! read more

Hampton Inn Marina is excellent ! I stayed for 3 nights and found the room to be spacious, clean, well-appointed, and in new condition. The bed was a king, and was very comfortable. I especially appreciated the quiet. I did sometimes hear other doors, and a few times felt vibrations on the floor, overall, nothing was disturbing. I appreciate that I was able to take my dog with me and stay at this hotel. The breakfast offerings were very good. There is an indoor pool, but I didn't use it. I did notice a sign stating that it was open for use, but the heater was not working and would be repaired. I didn't use or see the fitness room. read more

I never like when hotels charge for parking, $10 a night seems like an unnecessary charge especially when there are construction trucks with trailers taking up 3-5 spaces each. Room is fine but I prefer my bathroom to have an actual door that closes not just a slider door that vaguely covers the bathroom opening. This was my second time staying at the Hampton Inn & suites Marina. What I like about it. It's newer than anything I've found in Carmel, and aside from renting an entire house or a back house with the owner there this is more of a viable option. It's central to all of the places one might want to visit. Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur. The rooms are huge and the top floor has some views. Giant parking lot and it's free I've never been charged so not sure what people are talking about. There is a free breakfast with waffles and a help yourself buffet. Coffee and hot water with tea selections 24 seven downstairs. Issues I experienced this time around. My room had ants and I would have changed rooms, except I was deep in my trip and it would have been a massive hassle. Obviously not acceptable for a hotel. Extremely poor noise cancellation. I could hear my neighbors TV. The first time I stayed there I didn't hear any noise nor had any ants so maybe the room, not sure what happened there. The service: The lady who mans the breakfast area was really friendly and smiling which is awesome considering people load up on food and kids running around. The rest of the staff were ok- not smiling with great service skills. They did their job. read more

My family stayed here for 3 nights, and we loved it. This hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. There are plenty of parking around the building. It was very convenient to see a Walmart right across the street. Breakfast is served from 6am to 9am. We loved the variety ( waffles, eggs, potatoes, bagels, toasts, muffins, bacon or sausages, cereal, oatmeal and fruits). It was nice to see the tables are constantly getting wiped down, too. My family took advantage of the indoor pool everyday. The shallow end is only 3 feet and the deep end is 4.5 feet. There is no restroom in the pool area though. Guests will have to walk to the restroom by the lobby. Overall, I highly recommend this location if you are planning to visit Monterey, Carmel, or Salinas. read more

What can I really say besides this place is a GEM! On April 7th Josh & a few other people really helped us out. Running a little late but they made sure we were okay. On April 8th we were in our hotel and omg the rooms were AMAZING! Highly recommend getting a suit because they're really spaces & beautiful. On the 9th upon check out we extended our stay with Brianna (Shout to Bri she was AMAZING). Not only did she help us extend she gave us some places to visit. Which really helped our stay. After extending our stay and spending with Brianna we ran into Yvonne ! She was working the morning breakfast. She kept the area clean, was help to us & other guest, she offered to clean up peoples mess even when they tried to do it themselves, she told us about everything for breakfast & lastly she gave us places to visit as well. (Yvonne you are Amazing) Thank you Hampton for amazing 31st birthday! I loved this hotel! The room was super clean, had a great fresh scent, and was well stocked with toiletries. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful especially at breakfast time. The breakfast consisted of sausage, egg/cheese patties, oatmeal with toppings, biscuits and gravy, assorted breads and pastries, juice, yogurt, and waffles. We will definitely be back. read more

Stayed here a few times several months ago. Positives: Room very was spacious, nice and clean. Shower pressure was excellent. Bed was firm and comfortable like other Hamptons. The oatmeal, egg whites and condiments were good during breakfast. However, certain things were not up to par: 1. It was strange how only one certain race gets hired here, when there are many ethnicities in Marina and surrounding areas. Service was not as delightful as it should be. In general, the tones did not sound happy we decide to stay there and some sounded as if we're bothering them. The front desk was much friendlier with a latino guest than she was with me. 2. Breakfast juices were too diluted and potatoes/sausages were way too dry. Muffins were too sweet and waffle maker was not cooking all waffles evenly. A worker was very friendly to a Latino customer, speaking spanish to him, telling him where the food is and all, but disregarded all those who do not understand spanish. I felt like a second class citizen just because I'm not hispanic, and I shouldn't feel that way. This is the Hampton, not a mexican restaurant. English needs to be spoken by their employees, not spanish only, and they need to be fair to everyone, not choose to be friendly to only Hispanic customers. I'm used to this, but I expected more from the Hilton chain. 3. Some of the electrical outlets in the rooms did not work and on one of the night stays, the hallways smelled like there was a gas leak. This may not be the hotel's fault because the smell was in the air outside as well. But the outside air (from big rigs in the area?) might have gotten inside the hotel, making it smell not as fresh and clean. If I were to rate this Hampton based on the room itself, it's 4.5 to 5 stars. But if I were to take the staff and air quality into consideration, it's 2.5 stars. I believe this location has opportunities to improve if it had better customer service, air quality and a better breakfast with undiluted apple and orange juices. read more

Hotel is okay. Not sparkling clean coz found trash on the floor in the room. Tv stand cabinet counter is dirty. The alarm clock was on at 3am something. I think management should set a procedure to turn off previous tenant's alarm when cleaning the room so it won't woke me up at 3am! Receptionist was awesome; the pool and gym room are great. First off the air conditioner/heater had a sticker on it saying it was not working. I called down to the front desk to let them know and was told we can move rooms or they can give us a fan. I-said, " Let me discuss it with my husband". No more than 10 minutes later I went downstairs to let them know we would move rooms and all of sudden they are booked and there was nothing noted about the air unit when they gave us the room we had to tell them. Then the morning we are to check out(we had a late check out ) we heard banging on the door from housekeeping 3 different times within a half hour. Mind you it wasn't even regular check out time. They even had our receipt saying we checked out at 8:30 a.m which wasn't us. When we asked the front desk about it the person looked stupid and said I don't know .Nothing was noted in their computer for either the air unit or late checkout. Front desk was ABSOLUTELY no help at all! read more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on Dec 13th and the electric power failed There was no hot water, hence no showers, no lighting, no elevators , and no food service. I asked for a rate reduction when I checked out. I had paid for the 2 nights with cash and points. I was told by the desk clerk I would receive a 50% reduction. I did receive a a credit but none of my points were credited back. Hilton Honors did not accomodate my request and the hotel manager did not return my calls. My 74,000 points were taken from my account. I should have gotten 37,000 points back into my account. Not happy !!! read more

This hotel was recently built and I was not disappointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is clean. My room and the bathroom were also clean. I did use the laundry room. Costs two dollars to wash clothes and two dollars to dry. The machines are brand new. The hotel does sell laundry detergent and dryer sheets. I had their breakfast each morning and I was not disappointed. On the weekends, they offer French toast. On the weekdays, they offer omelettes. The oatmeal was watery, could be drier. They do offer waffles, which are good. The price of each night is reasonable, and certainly a good value. I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the marina area. read more

The rooms are spacious and clean. We got to a room, unpacked, laid down to rest before leaving to dinner. Noticed it was hot. Oh well, the A/C didn't work... really? They came and checked and it couldn't be fixed. The lady at the front desk that changed our room was very nice and helpful. We had to pack everything again to move to another room. OK, that can happen, but then we were in a room where the exhaust fan in the bathroom never quieted... yes that's right, it NEVER stopped making noise. All the time, all night. It drove us crazy. Another thing is that of 2 elevators one didn't work. and it took forever to be able to get down/up. For what we paid for this hotel we would have expected much better. Very disappointed. read more

Spent 3 days. Started out ok - rooms were spacious and kids were excited about the pool. Breakfast was good. They won't give you a rollaway bet if you have 2 queens even if the room is big and extra blankets provided we're scratchy. The first night of swimming in the indoor pool something smelled odd-like sewage or a gas leak. The front desk said they'd have someone look at it tomorrow, but we were feeling sick after swimming and it seemed strange that they wouldn't take something like that seriously. The next day when i called to follow up, they said it was a sewage backup issue cause there had been so many guests swimming but I couldn't get a straight answer about if the sewage had been in the water. They had people swimming in it the next evening. They were short and cut us off and said have a nice day and hung up when we asked about it. Still smelled and the water was cloudy that evening and it was closed for cleaning the next day. In the morning when it was checkout time, we had stuff and little kids to haul down 3 stories and both elevators were broken. One had been broken the whole stay and the second stopped working the last--and we wondered what guests with disabilities were going to do. I don't recommend. If stuff is broken, management needs to fix and they definitely need to be more helpful and cordial to guests. read more

The room and the rest of the hotel is very clean. Employees are very nice. Breakfast for Hampton Inns is slightly above average. Unfortunately this hotel has the same problems as the newer construction of today's hotels. Unless you're on the top floor you will hear the people in the room above you. You will hear the people talking, cell phone alarms and tv's in the rooms next to you. You will hear people in the halls. Pool was clean. Good if you have kids. Fitness room is small and posted hours are from 6am to 11pm. If you play by the rules 6am is busy and you will wait for equipment. Only one of two treadmills work, no rush for hotel to fix. Parking lot is confusing. A few different labels of parking spaces. I have been a Hilton Dimond member for over 10 years. Dimond status doesn't mean much anymore. I stay on average over 60 nights a year in hotels all over this country and others. I have stayed in most hotels in Monterey area. The only advantage of this hotel is its employees and it's new. read more

Like many folks, we have stayed at hundreds of hotels. We needed to hotel that was small dog friendly. This hotel was perfect for that. The rooms are a little small but it was fine. Breakfast in the morning was awesome and parking was easy and free. we really enjoyed ourselves. The hospitality and workers especially in the morning during breakfast was outstanding. They have an indoor heat, swimming pool and an outdoor fire pit. We really enjoyed our stay there. There was two small negatives. One is it can be a bit noisy. The walls are thinned. The second second is our first night there the fire alarm sounded. For 20 minutes we all got headaches. But the bad part is when we went to the front desk with about 100 gas nobody knew what was going on and the receptionist was missing. It appeared she was freaked out herself and had no idea how to handle the situation.some training is an order but we will stay there again read more
