If you're looking for a budget friendly place to stay, as we all jnownhow expensive hotel, even motel stays are in Monterey, dont give this place a second thought. Would rate this as a 5 star motel. Very clean, a little outdated in the bathroom, but overall very clean. Bed and pillows were comfy. Sheets were nice and clean, smelled of bleach cleanliness. Towels were nice, clean, and soft. It was very quiet and clean. There is a gas station in the center of the complex and a convenience store next to the lobby. They provide to go sack bags for breakfast which includes a granola bar, breakfast sandwich/breakfastBurrito/breakfast hot pocket/croissant sandwich, tangerine, banana, danish, yogurt, and a blue bell cheese. It was very unique and cute. Service was very good. They also have oatmeal packets, organic milk, yohoo, and Capri sun's for the kids. Would definitely stay again.

Allergic reaction to the bed. This happened on my back, neck, and the backs of my legs

Attached to a gas station, rooms were gross, dirty floor, rust on the appliances and the showers. Beds were absolutely DISGUSTING, sheets were damp, blood stains on the blankets along with some other brown stains on both beds. I had an immediate allergic reaction as soon as I laid down on the bed. My arms legs and back were itchy, red and my eyes swelled up. I ended up taking a nap in my car because I was not sleeping in this filthy room, I am really hoping I can get a refund because paying 200$ for a room that frankly is a biohazard (due to the blood on the sheets) is actually ridiculous.

    Dirty walks near entrance.

Decent place to stay. They did some pretty good upgrades. The place was clean. Smallest TV I've ever seen in a room this size.

Check out was smooth and they offered me a goodie bag to-go which included a yogurt, banana, clementine, granola bar, and pastry.

The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. She even brought it back to the library the morning we left, for others to use during their stay. The pet welcome is a nice touch. This site is very pet friendly. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... Can't wait to go back. Have to say that overall, this is probably in our top 3 of vacation spots. Including Hawaii. It's just great.

I had this…read morehotel saved for a long time and booked it after seeing so many glowing reviews about the pet-friendly luxury experience. We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

This. Place. SUCKS!…read more You can hear EVERYTHING. The engines and security beeps of every car in the parking lot. The obnoxious kids running and yelling endlessly up and down the hallway outside your door. The neighbor's TV and conversation and snoring in every room adjacent to your own. Every door opening and closing all night long.... And that's just OUTSIDE your room. Inside, the AC/fan is loud and the beds creak and groan every time you breathe. I barely slept might #1 and judging by the crowd of elephants that just entered the room next door, I won't get much more tonight as I'm typing this at 11 PM. The layout of the room is awful. As soon as someone opens the door, everyone inside is blasted by either the outdoor lights or the sun. The bathroom is ridiculously tiny. You can barely get inside to close the door to use the toilet. The shower curtain bar was falling out of the wall, drooping, and causing the curtain to continously slip to the middle of the bar, letting all the shower spray out onto the floor. And nevermind any soft or adjustable lighting--it's all harsh, bright light ricocheting across mirrors so no one can sleep if one person is up. The floor creaks when you walk and was filthy and gritty when we arrived. There's mildew and mold in most corners and all over the bathroom. The toilet seat is such flimsy, cheap plastic you can't sit on it without it sliding half of the toilet or bowing under you. Did I mention that you will hear all the screaming and crying children on either side of you all hours of the night? The parking lot was NEVER full, but the place still put everyone in consecutive rooms when clearly there were empty rooms that could have been used to space us all out to make buffers for noise since this place has zero soundproofing. The room as a whole was grimy and dirty. Stuff on the walls, paint peeling, bathroom and bathtub surfaces cracked, rusted, and moldy. Absolutely disgusting. The only positives I can cite are the blackout curtains (worked well) and that there was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast was okay, too. But if you actually want to sleep on your trip, don't stay here. This place clearly does not care one bit about helping you get a decent night's rest. Never. Ever. Again.

We recently stayed at this Best Western and had a very disappointing experience…read more On our first night, our neighboring room was extremely loud and explicit well past 10 PM and continued almost all night. We understand it was Valentine's Day, but quiet hours still apply. We contacted management three separate times and were told they would address it. However, nothing changed. Eventually, we had to handle the situation ourselves and ask the neighbors to quiet down, which should not have been our responsibility as paying guests. In addition, the air conditioner in our room did not work properly. It was blowing air, but it never cooled the room down, leaving us uncomfortably hot all night. Then, on the morning of checkout, there was no hot water. I was unable to take a shower before leaving. We brought these concerns forward, but instead of acknowledging the issues, management defended each complaint and ultimately chose not to offer any refund or resolution. We understand that occasional issues can happen in any hotel, but the lack of follow-through and customer care was very disappointing. Based on this experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

No Dressers or drawers to put your clothes in. Our room was facing the main road and you can hear some traffic but it's not horrible. We had the air conditioner on so it helps. They offer FREE coffee, tea, water and ice to fill up your water bottles. I took off 1 Star.... My only complaint would be the parking. We couldn't find a parking at the hotel after dark. The hotel is surrounded by apartments so I'm sure people from other places park there. There's only 30 or so parking spots and it's Not monitored which I wish they would do. Maybe give us a parking pass to put on the car or something and tow the ones who don't belong. My husband had to park a block and half away. We would consider staying here again if they fixed the parking issue. It's very inconvenient for families who have little ones.

They took great care of us. Francesca the manager was so helpful so nice and treated us like family. We are very grateful to have met her and got to know her. They had an indoor pool. And a Jacuzzi and it was nice and warm. Their gym was pretty spacious as well very beautiful looking. They also had a place where you can do your laundry if need be. Overall, our experience was amazing. We will definitely be going back thank you guys so much for everything again.

Unfortunately it wasn't the service I expected to receive from a Hilton property…read more Upon arriving at 3pm for check-in, we were advised the room was not ready and check-in is now 4pm. That was a bit frustrating as we have a 10-month old we just drove with for a couple hours. Either way, we went a couple blocks down the road and had some pizza while we waited for the room. Now for the room, when we arrive, the door to the full-size refrigerator was open. Therefore, the refrigerator was not cold at all and the groceries we brought would have to stay in the cooler until the refrigerator became cold enough. Upon my investigation, when the door to the hotel room opens, the handle briefly attaches to the door of the refrigerator, pulling that open as the heavy room door shuts. Voila - Sherlock Holmes has cracked the case! HA! Bathroom - a couple of issues here; the Water pressure - there was none! Also, there was no bathtub for the baby which we requested a room with a bathtub. Let's talk space and beds. It had two queen-sized beds, room was spacious enough for us 3 adults and baby. There was a couch which pulled out into a sleeper. Comfortable? NOT IN THE LEAST! The mattress on both beds seemed like they were a decade old and all you could feel were the springs, no soft comfort. The bed nearest the window loss it's springiness as you just sank right into the middle. Whoa! But I guess if you like super sinking springy beds, this would be to your liking. The kitchenette; you'll have to ask for a hot plate if you want to cook in your room. At first we were looking everywhere for it, because they don't mention upon check-in that they need to actually give one to you upon request. Also, the microwave above the sink was not working at all. No power at all, and upon our attempts to reach Yessenia at the front desk for assistance, they never picked up. So, again, Sherlock Holmes to the case and with the use of the ottoman to climb upon and check above the cabinetry, we found the appliance was not plugged in. Sheesh, these guys are making me work for my stay. Sherlock solves another case at this location. The pool area could be smelled from the hallway downstairs; I understand the use of chlorine, but whew it was strong. The pool was fine, not heated but not freezing. The hot tub had so much bubbles I wasn't sure what was going on in there, I did not attempt to make use of it. The bbq grill outside for use was nice, however, they do not clean it, so clean it yourself before use. Also, the bbq cooking utensils are also used by other guests, so again, be mindful of what you're cooking with. Breakfast is from 6am-9am in the morning and it was okay. They offer three types of cereal, boiled eggs, there's a waffle maker, bagels, muffins, toast, oatmeal, usually a type of protein (bacon, chicken, or sausage), and biscuits. They have regular milk, almond, and oat milk, as well as juice, coffee, and tea. I recommend not going too late because they will not make anymore food by the 8:30 mark. The woman said, no that's it, just what's left - which was cold eggs, waffle, and muffins. Yikes! Oh, also this is not a baby friendly place. There are outlets all over the place that are not guarded. Just a helpful hint for parents out there. Unfortunately the check-out process with Yessenia was not great. She appeared to be annoyed with a customer before me and continued on with me. I advised her that the customer service she was providing was not how a person in her position should be acting. Maybe she was having a bad day, but if that's the case, take a break and switch out with someone else. So would I stay here again, definitely not. Paying nearly $500 for this type of service and room is not worth it.
