We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Tempe. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Hampton Inn beds are usually all pretty comfy. I have been staying at this location the past couple of years each time I stay in phoenix. Karen has been great at the front desk, and others have been pretty good for the most part. I stay in the king room that has a sofa. Its spacious, and inviting. Refreshments are relatively priced and the location makes it convenient to run out and grab a quick bite. Only thing that was a bummer is that on a couple occasions I didnt have really hot water while taking a shower. This last visit I needed to run the water a good 4 minutes before it got hot. read more

I always prefer yo not stay with people..like my own space and temp at my level especially after menopause. His dad keeps the house at 80... I would parish. Lip service only on issues. Did I expect a new washer and dryer within a week? No. But the remote that's been missing since August and so we can't watch TV at breakfast (and could be ordered and arrive via Amazon within 8 hours)? Nope. Guests don't matter here. If we did: better laundry. No broken lid on the cheese holder (since a year ago). How about Cholula or Tabasco or hot sauce? Nope nope nope. I've got two more weeks here. I will absolutely pass out in the breakfast area. If for some reason, the owner decides to give a shit what any of us guests think and orders a remote. Not holding my breath. The transportation options at this hotel were excellent. It was easy to get around with convenient access to major roads and nearby attractions. Everything went well. Hilton you have 3 phenomenal front desk angels: April, Gabi, & Karen. We arrived at the hotel knowing we were going to have car repairs. The Mazda dealership we've been to before just wanted to tell us we were going to have to take 24-48 hours to have diagnosed. We had them change oil & picked car back up. We were referred to MACS Complete Auto Repair. They immediately provided us with a loaner vehicle without our even asking. Getting a transmission & other parts in took longer than expected. We checked into Hampton Inn & Suites/Tempe on 7/24. Repair shop had to delay a few times & we needed to extend our stay at least 3 times. All the ladies were so gracious in helping us & managed to keep us in our same room. The car was finally completed & we were able to pick it up 8/3. We have been treated well at most of the Hilton's over the years, but never have we been treated this well. Each time one of them saw us they asked about the progress in the car & if we were doing okay. Key is the fact you have employees who care about your customers & they are kind & so respectful. Thank you Hilton for recognizing the way you treat your employees certainly shows in how they treat your customers. Thank you again for helping us with such a troubled travel trip. We are moving forward with a positive & thankful attitude. read more

What an evening! My flight in Boston was significantly delayed which triggered an automatic rebooking of my connecting flight in Phoenix. This meant I would've had to spend the night in the airport (which was absolutely not an option). I booked a room via the Hilton app since I'm a member. By time I reached the hotel it was well after 10p. I was greeted by Karen whom I believe is also the manager. She took care of me so quickly and seamlessly updated my reservation to include the voucher my airline had given me. Check in was quick and easy all while she received inbound calls from other clients experiencing the same issue. I'd return just for the customer service I'd received. The non-smoking king room was large. It came with amenities such as a microwave and a coffee pot. The microwave came in handy and allowed me to make some late night ramen. The hotel offers breakfast from 6a-9a. I believe I saw another guest using the laundry facility. There's a shuttle service to get you to the airport. Please be advised you MUST notify the front desk so they can sign you up for it. There is a gym that looks well maintained but I did not use that service. This Hampton Inn suited all of my needs. My flight was delayed and I missed my connection, so by the time I arrived at the Hampton Inn & Suites it was late Sunday night and I was already exhausted. The lobby was packed with other stranded travelers, there was a very long line, and to make things more stressful, the hotel had been overbooked on the back end. Despite the chaos and obvious pressure, two employees -- Lulu and Patrick -- handled the situation with professionalism, calm, and genuine kindness. They stayed patient with every guest, communicated clearly, and worked hard to resolve issues as quickly as possible. It couldn't have been an easy night, but they truly made a difference in an otherwise frustrating travel experience. Huge thank you to Lulu and Patrick for their outstanding service under pressure. First of all the WiFi is worthless. Can't even send emails much less anything else. The shower head, even when new, probably wasn't very good. You'd be better off with a couple of squirt guns. For a low budget hotel, the rooms were fine and the staff was friendly. read more

While the bed comfort was average, and pillows could be fluffier, the clean room and varied, fresh breakfast contributed to a satisfying experience. Arrived late at night nearly 10pm so the drive from Vegas was 4 & a half hours more or less. We were pretty tired since I am traveling with my daughter and her family. We got one room with teo queen beds! To my surprise the room we got was pretty big, spacious, and clean. I think the only issue I have is with the outlets by the beds. They don't fit properly to my Iphone charger! So I had to use the outlet by the sofa. The mattress was hard, but I am ok with it since I have a bad back. My grandbaby has her Ipad to keep her preoccupied, Bluey on the tv and of course she has her notebook and pens to write. I forgot her crayons and coloring pencils. What I like about the Hampton Inns is it comes with free hot breakfast. I always go for the fruits, yogurt, sometimes I have the cereals or the eggs. read more

We booked the wrong hotel but it ended up being a pleasant mistake! Just so you know, there is ANOTHER Hampton Inn about 8 mins away (Hampton Inn Phoenix/Chandler). We thought we were booking that hotel but ended up booking at this modern and beautifully decorated hotel. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and even allowed to check in a bit early. We appreciated that courtesy as we had a long drive from Los Angeles and needed to get some rest before heading out for our dinner that evening. The studio suite we booked took us by surprise. We thought it would be a tiny room but it was essentially a mini apartment with all the necessities and a firm and comfortable mattress. The complimentary breakfast was a fine and a great way to start the day. The breakfast is light and you have the option of making your own waffles complete with fresh batter. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. The rest of our group booked at the other Hampton Inn but this particular hotel was above and beyond the others in the area. Enjoy your visit! read more

The staff is over the top amazing! I always feel like I'm home when I'm there. I've stayed here many times. The breakfast is outstanding as is the coffee and the coffee is available morning and night fresh! The rooms are always impeccably, clean and stocked with all necessities. They give bottled water when you check in. Most importantly, the air conditioner works. It will freeze you; which is perfect for Phoenix I also appreciate having HBO. We stayed here for several nights while in Tempe. We chose it mainly on price, the included breakfast, and its convenience to the airport (as well as to people we were visiting). Our room was comfortable. As we were there several days, they let us choose how often we needed maid service. We opted for just once in the middle of the stay. The room was also quiet, generally. Late one night we could hear some kids being noisy a ways away - maybe on another floor a few rooms away? It wasn't terrible, and it did not happen again. I wasn't that thrilled with the breakfast here. Of the 5 similar places we stayed on this trip, the breakfasts here placed 4th. There were no hot items, they only had pre-packaged slices of bread. I'm sure in pre-Covid times, the breakfasts were standard, but it seemed like they could have done a bit more now. Parking was never a problem here; no matter when we returned there were always at least a few spaces available. Honestly, hotel breakfasts since March of 2020 have been non-existent to randomly good / meager. Their buffet may be the best of any hotel within 5 miles, for all I know. On our last morning, we no longer had the car. I had checked previously with the hotel about this - they just asked us to confirm a time when we needed the shuttle to the airport. We made a 5 a.m. reservation (and were not the only ones on the shuttle even then). We cut it close, and they politely called our room just before 5 a.m. to check on us. I confirmed we'd be right down, and we made it with a minute or so to spare. But I was glad that they were on top of things and were ready when they said they would be. I'd consider staying here again. read more

When I arrived here, I was feeling so exhausted from the long trip, and when the front desk, Patrick, assisted me, he made everything so much more easier and eased the burden that I was carrying. He was very cordial and respectful and more than hospitable, which I did not expect from this hotel. He went above and beyond the call of duty to see that my needs were met, and because of such employees like him, I will always remain a loyal member of the Hilton and Hampton Inn family. Patrick should be commended for all of his efforts and he has. He is truly someone that is an asset to your company. Walked out of hotel to find my rims and tires had been stolen. Area is unsafe and should be avoided

I caution the safety of this hotel. While the rooms themselves were nice and clean the rest of the hotel is very sketchy. The hallways smelled of weed. Not just once but every time we left our room. It was constant. People letting their doors slam shut at all hours of the night. We had to check out at 2:30am and there were people fighting and screaming from inside their room and then when we got to the parking lot there was a sketchy guy looking around cars (his pants down around his ankles). He was so close to us it made us super uncomfortable. I felt like we were about to be robbed. This place would be higher stars if they invested in some strict rules and def need to hire security!!!!! Do not stay here if safety is any concern for you. I promise it will make your stay very uncomfortable. read more

Great stay. This hotel has everything I wanted for a two-night stay. Excellent breakfast, super studio room with lots of space (I recommend the extra few dollars for that room), quick airport shuttle and very accommodating front desk, especially after a long flight. April was very helpful in extending my reservation a day. Bed was comfy, and I appreciated the bathtub. The pool and hot tub were adequate - I would have liked a chaise in the pool area, but there were many chairs and tables. There are several restaurants within a mile. Blackout curtains and plenty of outlets to charge your phone added to a pleasant stay. I'll be back! read more

Nice place! April at the front desk was nice and super helpful--our original room wasn't ready at check-in, so she easily switched us over to a new room. Hotel was quiet, room was comfortable, breakfast was good, and the hotel was just under 3 miles away from ASU, which was very convenient (we were there for family weekend to visit our ASU student.) Overall the stay was good. The only things that were big turned offs was a weird smell the whole hotel had. It was a very strong awful smell that's used to kill pesticides. Also our room was on the first floor & the curtains were not able to be closed all the way! You have no privacy! Questionable Morals here. My wife, in our haste to get to the airport at 3am forgot a bag of jewelry in our room containing a family heirloom and several pieces I've bought her over the years. My wife called a day after our stay, once realizing the bag of jewelry was missing, spoke to two of the management staff who both attested to never having seen the bag. When returning to AZ a couple weeks later we ran over to the hotel to double check if it had turned up and it was then that one of the management staff (one with whom my wife had spoken to over the phone) claims having seen the bag the day after we left in the manager's office but never called us. Now the bag is missing and we feel we've been lied to. Called Hilton Honors to get some help and they were useless. The GM would have conducted his/her own internal investigation which is comparable to my stealing your car and letting me do the investigation, pointless! We're DONE with anyone or any hotel affiliated with Hampton or Hilton. I have no room in my life for people/companies of this caliber. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else! read more

Stayed three nights. Lost a star because the walls were pretty thin. We also had to walk light as the cabinet doors shake a little as we walked. We were on the second floor. We were lucky because we had nice neighbors. We could hear hair dryers, TVs and in the hall it was louder. Sneezes, talking, any movement. It was weird. Felt bad just turning on the tv. Other than that loved the microwave, and mini fridge. Kinda weird no drawers for clothes. But that's no big deal. read more

I don't leave reviews often and typically only for outliers, either excellent or poor. In this case, it is unfortunately poor. The person I asked about shuttle service from the airport was extremely rude. When I got to the hotel, I said an apology goes a long way for me and she said she would welcome my apology to her. She yelled at me from another area when I complained to the attendant checking me in about how she hung up on me when I was asking her how long I would wait in 106 degree heat for the shuttle. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone flying into the Phoenix airport!! It's about a 5-10 minute drive from the airport and they have a free shuttle to and from the airport if you set it up. The shuttle is one of the best amenities here. You can schedule it to take you to downtown Tempe as well as numerous food locations all for free. It's located about 20-30 minutes from Scottsdale and Glendale so it's a perfect central location for both. The hotel is clean and the free breakfast is better than most. They have a little market downstairs to get any snacks or personal items you might need. read more

This hotel sucks big time. There is no real manager working here. There are apparently five different managers and none of them are available to talk to you. One person told me to speak to someone named April. Then I find out she works the front desk, not the manager. Then there was someone named Jordan. Again, same deal. So who the hell is the real manager? Probably hiding in the back office ignoring guests. My guess is this place is run by the front desk and the manager or owner are absentee. Does not represent a good model for a Hilton affiliated hotel. I expected better from a Hampton Inn and this place is not a good representation of that. So why the low rating? It can't be just due to the lack of management? No, that's not the main reason. The room I received had bed bugs!!! Nasty. The cherry on top was when looking behind the TV chest to grab my phone that slipped and fell through the back, I saw a bunch of trash including a pair of used underwear and a plastic bottle. Disgusting. There was hair in the shower drain. Not a big deal because that is easy to miss, but with all the other issues with the room, I can't ignore that too. I wanted to get in touch with a manager so I could explain all of these issues. I spoke with the front desk and they nonchalantly offered me a mediocre discount. That's not the issue. I want to speak with someone about these issues. I can't believe I have to resort to leaving a negative review on a website I never frequent so I can get someone to acknowledge my poor stay and have a mature conversation about the situation I had to deal with. If this is what the hotel expects from its staff then it's a good thing I got to experience this because I will be taking my business elsewhere. This was the first and last time I will be staying at this particular Hampton Inn. There is an older Hampton Inn, also near the airport, and while not as new and nice, I have never had to deal with such poor service. I will be taking my business back to them or finding a new chain entirely moving forward. I hope someone from Hilton reads this and they force the lazy hotel owner(s) to take real charge or hire a better staff. read more

The hotel is only a couple of years old. The rooms are well designed with couches, foot stools, lots of lights and a wet bar. The room is spacious compared to most hotels I visit. Good housekeeping. Newspapers and breakfast as well. Free snacks and refreshments. Good complimentary breakfast. Hotel staff are pleasant. This is my favorite hotel chain. It is a very good value. read more

The hotel is great and the rooms are very nice, however the service is absolutely awful. It seems that this hotel has no patience whatsoever for any of their customers. We called to have water delivered to the room, but the employee, Paulina, claimed that she was "too busy and that we could come get it ourselves." Then, we went downstairs to get the water ourselves and when we asked Paulina, she would not even speak to us and instead gave us a dirty look and 2 warm water bottles. We thanked her and wished her a good night and were again greeted with a nasty look and no words. I highly recommend this hotel in regards to the rooms, however the service is horrible and will definitely keep me from returning. read more
