I want to share my deep gratitude for the team at the Hampton Inn West Reno. During our stay, we had a medical emergency that resulted in my girlfriend being hospitalized. It was an incredibly stressful time, and the staff's response was nothing short of amazing. The front desk was immediately helpful, providing me with the non-emergency numbers I needed to coordinate care. Because of the situation, I eventually had to head back home to Sacramento, but my girlfriend's car was still at the hotel. The manager, **Casey Rogers**, was incredibly kind and considerate during this transition. Even though we had already checked out, he allowed her car to remain safely on-site for three extra days while we sorted everything out. I booked here last minute, as the power was out at my house. Power was out for two hours (the wind was blowing), with no estimated time of resolution. Of course as I was checking in, I got notification that power had been restored. Our power is turned off frequently when the wind blows, and we do get notification that it has been restored when it has not. I have a medical device that I wear when sleeping, and it was getting late, so I just continued with check in for a stress free night. Desk staff was very nice. The price wasn't bad, and the place was clean and quiet. They have a little store with snacks, and a breakfast area. The pool also looked clean, but I did not use it. The restaurant has the usual breakfast foods that all Hampton's have with the exception of the fresh fruit bowl being very exceptional. Very fresh berries covering the cut up fruit. Super yummy! We stayed here in July for just one night on our way home . It was nice, the room was clean not super big but it was fine for the four of us for a night. The pool it's huge or very deep but was clean and heated. The room the pool and hot tube are in was super muggy , to the point if you got in the hot tube it was to much free a few minutes. They had outdoor seating and a fire place right outside from the pool. The gym was not bad but a few of the equipment wasn't working ( treadmill and an elliptical). Breakfast wasn't bad , a lot of options, we did get there later than normal so some stuff wasn't as full . Parking and breakfast included. read more

Great stay usual soaps and shampoo in the shower. Room was clean spacious and the bed was comfortable. Quiet we were on the first floor. Free breakfast bar eggs. Waffles, oatmeal, bar, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, some juices. The only drawback here is it's in the middle of nowhere. There's really nothing to eat around here. There is a Starbucks and maverick gas station that has a good selection of snacks and small stuff. Staff was nice had a great stay. read more

Good spot for an overnight stay. The room was clean and quiet. Guest services were extremely friendly. No issues with parking. My only complaint was that the mattress and pillows could have been more comfortable. Hotel is located in an area not meant for hosting tourists. Two gas stations and maybe three or four quick eats nearby (I do like the Port of Subs). Also it is not near any casinos. read more

We normally stay at Casino hotels when we visit Reno, but we decided to stay here since we are Honors members and Hilton properties are pretty good for the most part. The first guy at the front desk when checking in was lacking in good customer service, but the people the next day made up for it. Service 4/5 Indoor Pool area was nice. Pool and hot tub were clean, but there were no towels so we had to walk back to the front to ask for some. Also, we found it strange that the lounge chairs were outside and the crappy regular chairs were in the pool area. It should of been the other way around. Pool area 4/5 We had a King room which was very clean, but also very small for a Hilton property. We didn't spend too much time in the room so it was fine. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The heating/AC unit was SO LOUD. Room 3.5/5 I'd give this property 3.5/5 stars, and would stay here again If the price was right. read more

Clean room and friendly staff. I only spent one night visiting family in Reno, staying with friends for the rest of my visit. Had a nice king-sized room, which included a small fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Plenty of plugs and USB ports for my electronics. Not always available in some older hotels. I was offered a free bottle of water when I checked in, while other beverages and some snacks are behind the counter for purchase. The hotel also has a laundry room if you happen to be staying for more than a couple of nights. Complimentary brunch from 6-10 AM was very welcome, with cheese omelets, potatoes, bacon, a waffle maker, and other items. There are also several coffee urns in the lobby available 24-7 and have hot water and varieties of teas. There is a Starbucks and several other places just a short walk away. Certainly recommend it if you happen to be in the area. read more

The other staff advised me to book with Priceline and get a room that way. I did as suggested. This hotel still could not book me due to no ability to look up my Priceline reservation number. I had to call Priceline and cancel. Through this entire process the manager was rude and nasty person! I will NEVER go back there. Plus the room amount the hotel directly quoted me was 245.00 a night- reason only 3 rooms were left! Priceline price 180. Reason told- less rooms the prices go up! read more

Usually I stay at the IHG Holiday Inn Express chain, but this hotel was right off the freeway and more on the newer side compared to the IHG hotels in the Reno area. It's all about the same price and includes a hot full breakfast buffet as well. Super easy on and food the freeway. Room was perfectly clean and no weird smells or anything. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was out on time and while it was a little different then the IHG hotels, it's nice to get a few different things for breakfast. The wifi worked well in the room with a good signal, so I was able to get work done in the morning before check out. I waited till 11am to check out, so I could go to my fave Thai restaurant located right up the road form the hotel. Quiet night, got lots of sleep, so that's a good thing. I stayed in Reno here cause there was no way I was gonna make a non stop drive from Elko to home in CA. read more

We stayed here for one night before leaving Reno in late May. We booked ahead on the Hilton app. We didn't realize until we arrived that this particular property does not have the digital key feature. We personally really like the digital key option which allows you to bypass the front desk and proceed directly to your room. The young lady at the front desk was helpful and efficient and we were soon set. The hotel appears to be well taken care of and is extremely convenient to I80. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We chose this property based on the proximity to I80 and because we were traveling with a pickup truck and cargo trailer which meant we needed a hotel with ample parking. Great experience! read more

I recently stayed at this Hampton Inn for four nights while on a business trip to the Reno/Tahoe area. It felt like a newer hotel (or maybe it's just been recently updated). I had a first floor room and loved the super high ceilings. I don't think I've ever seen ceilings that high in a Hampton Inn or any other comparable hotel. The front desk clerk was very nice. She offered me two waters plus a snack (I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member). She made me feel welcome. I was able to park in the back, right next to the entry door and close to my room. There was plenty of well-lit parking. When I checked out at the end of my stay, I was offered a water and snack for the road. Wow! That's never happened before. It was such a nice touch! This hotel is located very close to the freeway but I did not hear any freeway noise, nor did I hear my neighbors through the walls. The only bummers were the lack of housekeeping service due to Covid. Luckily, the room was stocked with plenty of towels and TP. The woman who ran the breakfast wasn't super friendly. I felt like she was staring at me the entire time I was getting my food. Also there aren't a ton of restaurants in the immediate area, although there is a Starbucks right next door. I would definitely stay at this Hampton Inn in the future. read more

The room I was in was not so great. the USB ports did not work and none of the plug in sockets worked except the one in the bathroom and the one by the desk. charging my phone and tablet was an issue. The TV remote would change the volume but would not change the channel so unless I wanted to watch sports TV was not an option. There were cheaper places downtown , but then I had to go back downtown . Deal with parking and the like. It's right off the highway. Easy in and out. Clean, well maintained . Very very nice lady at the desk . I wish I got her name. She was very helpful. The check out was smooth . The staff are very nice all around . Breakfast was continental with good coffee and waffles . I typically stay at Marriott properties but I'm glad I stayed at this hotel. The check in process was fast and friendly. They gave me 2 bottles of water upon check in without me having to ask which was a very nice touch. I generally dislike being in 1st floor rooms but the high ceilings somewhat made up for it. The room was spacious and clean and the only downside was that the blackout curtains are set up not to close all the way since the AC unit is blocking. Especially with my room being on the 1st floor, I wish I could have closed the curtains all the way to have a peace of mind about Peeping Toms. Breakfast met my expectations. There was egg, potatoes, sausage, yogurt, pastries etc. I saw to-go bags of food for those who needed a quicker grab-and-go breakfast. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and I would stay here again on my next trip to Reno. read more

I stayed here for one day by myself while staying overnight for a job interview the next day. One thing of note, at least for the first floor - the ceilings are HIGH! This sort of made the room look a little oblong, but I think it is a pleasant touch for what otherwise is a budget hotel. The room was cozy and made to feel a bit more spacious than it actually may have been, but I did not feel cramped. I do not believe two people would find the room cramped either - the bed was very large and comfortable, and there is ample seating areas around the room. My entire stay was very quiet, even on the first floor. There were quite a lot of cars in the lot, so this was surprising. I found service to be very pleasant and quick to check in. Checking out was done by placing the key in a box - very convenient! I had to knock off a star because the breakfast was bland and made me feel a little ill before my 3 hour long interview proceed. This is a very nice Hampton in a great location. I would give it 5 stars but there are few things they need to work on. One, someone sprayed something on the inside of the south elevator and it was not cleaned up the next morning. Second, we stayed in suite 207 and the person in 205 woke us up at 5 am with blaring TV. They turned it down about 5:30 but it was like they were in the room with us. There must be little or no insulation between walks and floors. read more

My family of four stayed from a late Friday night until early on Sunday morning. Good Hotel, Needs some tender loving care, but a nice place. Couple of problems that I noticed. Our tv had problems, it was not receiving any channels, and when you have two teenagers that can be a problem. The front desk was called and we were told someone would tend to it. Next day, nothing happened, we left for something at 11am and my wife requested for a second time at the front desk itself. She was advised that someone would be told immediately. When we returned at 9pm the tv was still not operating. I called down to the front desk and asked why we were told the word "immediately", and nothing was done? I was told that the front desk at that time was not aware of the problem. I was then told HOW to fix the problem over the phone. I just hit buttons on the remote control in hopes something would happen. Second problem, Saturday night, my 13 year old wanted more pillows, she called the front desk and was told to come to the front desk to get them. NO! You do not ask a guest to do the work, especially if that person in under 21. Last problem, too many people loitering around the problem. As we drove back onto the property on Saturday night a woman was seen talking to a gentleman along the "hotel side" parking area. My 15 year old teen shouted "I can see her nipples", followed by my 13 year old teen saying "And she has nothing on underneath the dress!" As we drove around the "Casino side" of the property, a person seen skateboarding along the parking area while a person with the skateboarder was seen pushing a shopping cart with all sorts of items inside the shopping cart. Where was security? I did see one officer standing just outside the casino entrance talking to someone who appeared to be another employee. I guess the customer doesn't always come first, unless you're sitting in a parking lot with nothing on under your dress with the whole world to see. read more

We stayed here for one night, while skiing in Truckee. The breakfast and service was good and friendly, the room was standard, but clean. However, the facility has forever sworn me off Hilton properties. They managed to install a thermostat where you CANNOT set your own temperature or switch heating or cooling on manually. I couldn't believe this and asked the front desk three times for help, however, they explained I can only switch on the existing programming, which was set to 74F, or switch it off. Needless to say, we slept awful in a way overheated room and got hardly any rest. I certainly won't ever go back there. If you look to stay in Reno from the Truckee side, safe yourself a disappointment and stay elsewhere, go the extra 10 miles to the the other choices. read more

Perfect for our family! One of great choices in hotels to stay close to Reno! This one is pretty new... about a year old so everything is still in great shape and modern. We reserved using Hotel.com app and it went smoothly. All amenities like the free wifi (up to 3 devices only), free breakfast, free coffee, fee tea and hot cocoa, pool, spa and gym were great! We made use of it all. The pool was luke warm and perfect for indoor swimming. The room we had was nice and clean. Loved the roomy bathroom and decor. The big vanity lighted mirror was beautiful. Our other family stayed in the 6-person suite and happened to be in a handicap room. It was freakin huge! Very cool. It was their last 6-person room and they got that instead of the regular suite. Lucky! There is still construction around the hotel. There is a Starbucks and bank walking distance away. That is a bonus! This hotel is right off the freeway so its easy to find. They are located just off the freeway, Robb Dr. area. Approximately 15 minutes away from the casinos. The hotel is close to many restaurants including vegan options. Close to North Lake and to the Reno casino scene. Close to the California border, ski resorts and Cabela's. Access from the freeway is odd but not hard to find. I came here for a seminar recently. I saw very little of the hotel. The small amount of the hotel that I did see was clean and had a very warm and welcoming environment. The small room used for the seminar was sufficient and had water and glasses provided. When we arrived they were still serving breakfast in the dining hall (that is to your left as you enter the hotel). You could also smell the coffee which was inviting. According to other reviews the breakfast is free. From what I saw from a distance, there were a variety of options both hot and cold for breakfast. The aromas smelled good. People seemed happy and were smiling. We were greeted and informed where are seminar room was. Not to much to report. The parking lot area is under construction which means limited amount of parking. Hopefully when they are done there will be a larger parking area. read more

We stayed a couple of nights at the Hampton Inn this last August. We found the beds comfortable and the room fairly clean although someone forgot to vacuum up some toenails in the far corner of the room...lol. The breakfast was fair. The fruit is your best bet. WARNING...Hampton Inns are now pet friendly. We heard from the front desk of a dog that howled all evening after its owners went out to dinner. The adjacent room had to turn up their television to drown out the dog's barking. We also heard there was a problem with one guest ( same one?) sneaking their dog back into the hotel. Finally, they offer snacks, cold drinks, coffee, and wonderfully friendly front desk clerks in the lobby. read more

Worst Manager Rude, Made negative condencending comments to disabled Senior saying I didn't understand current technology and continued to say No you are wrong you don't understand. Charged me pet fee for licensed registered Service dog who stayed there 6 times previously. Employees were afraid to speak up. I booked the reservation with my Hilton Honors App. I received a Hampton Suites Welcome email. I received a Hampton Honors Confirmation just as I had at this hotel many times. After telling me I didn't have a reservation she told me the room rate was $400 instead of $250 ( approx) because I didn't have reservations. I showed her the 2 emails. She said I booked 3 Rd party and they didn't honor that anymore. I showed her my Chrome history screen listing the website through the Hilton Honors app. She said the site had been hacked by a private booking company who already was paid the $1500 stay but I had to go to another hotel to use the paid stay. She continued to be rude and say well sorry nothing I can do you made the mistake. I did not make any mistake. If their web site was hacked it's Hiltons and Hamptons problem not mine. She said go talk to Hilton then they are responsible. Late I paid for a room for one nite. She called to other hotel who said I could check in there the next day to use my $1500 stay already billed to my Amex card. At 6pm I asked the front desk night Mgr to call the other Hampton hotel and tell them I was staying at Hampton West one night then driving to Hampton South to check in the next night. I knew I was being double billed for the one night. When I checked out the Mgr was very rude. She said it was better I should go stay there since it was my mistake to book with a 3rd party. I did not. I booked with Hilton Honors. I called American Express they told me this scam was happening and Hilton and Hampton should be responsible because it's their security on their app that failed. I am asking for a fraud investigation. When I tried to check in at Hampton South the Mgr and some guy who refused to identify himself, had been warned. They came out aggressively telling me yes I had been billed $1500 for the stay but since I did not check in I forfeited the $1500 and if I wanted a room I had to pay another $1500! Both of these employees down talked Hilton blaming them for an app that allowed a booking Co to hyjack my reservation. They both said things in front of other employees and customers about my inability to understand this " hi techology" . Finally the man said If we decide we want to give you a room you will need to pay the current rate in advance the full $1500 again and you can try to get your money back from the booking company that stole the reservation! I took my service dog, picked up my cane and left. I found a nice room at Staybridge Suites better price free happy hour full kitchen. The Mgr said they hear this happening more often every day. I cancelled my three reservations to and in San Diego with Hampton Inns and booked reservations with honest customer centered hotels. I have an appt to discuss the details with AARP including copies of transcripts on Hilton Honors Reservations proving I made the Hampton Suites Reservation by using Hilton Honors App not a 3rd party booking company. This is fraud I believe and a wide based scan to double book rooms. Definitely the management is involved.
