I will never return to this hotel. It was very noisy with the fog horns blaring every 15 minutes, the room phone ringing early in the morning and the housekeeper knocking over and over on the door, insisting my room was ready to be cleaned...even though I had not checked out. The front clerk was a little arrogant asking if I really needed a room with a roll in shower. Yes! That's what I booked. This should have been a relaxing stay, but it wasn't. read more

I also have stayed in many Hilton properties and am Hilton diamond at this point. The hotel is beautifully kept and the staff generally great. That being said, the website description of the hotel is preposterous. It is not a short walk to town. Indeed, it is over a mile, which in the nature of things is all up hill on the way back to the hotel. I agree wholeheartedly with the below review: "Location: for me, this was a 2, but your take on location will depend on your expectations for your visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia. The hotel was indeed very close to an entrance to Acadia. However--I was led to believe by hotel description, hotel photos, and reviews that while this hotel would not be in the center of Bar Harbor, it would still be walkable to town. I live in NYC and have no aversion to walking 20-30 minutes to go almost anywhere day or night, but if you have any hopes of strolling into town for dinner and strolling back to the hotel, I would advise against it here. The hotel is perched on top of a large hill amid a lot of curvy residential streets without streetlamps or backlighting, and there is a lot of roadwork and detouring on the main routes surrounding the hotel and Bar Harbor.....The hotel website's photos use some creative angles to make the hotel look closer to the water than it is. We had a rental car and went into town each day for meals between hikes, but parking in Bar Harbor--while free--can be difficult during "prime" hours (10am-8pm). We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Bar Harbor for several nights. It was fairly spacious and clean. We originally requested a king with a view, we got doubles with a pool/Mountain view half obstructed by the inside corner of the building. Housekeeping was great about checking our room even when we weren't always out of the room by the time they came by. You'd be surprised at how many won't bother coming back if you're still in your room. Breakfast was okay considering it's included, with a different variety of eggs/main dishes most mornings. I've stayed at worst Hampton Inns, I've stayed at a lot better. For the peak pricing though, I expected a lot nicer. Thankfully half our trip was paid in points. But the other half was overpriced at over $300 per night. Overall, it was a good stay. read more

When staying in Bar Harbor over the weekend, I looked at a bunch of places but settled on the Hampton Inn, as it was a bit outside of downtown (so slightly away from the hubbub) and it was highly reviewed. Even though we showed up in the dead of night during a thunderstorm, checking in was relatively quick, and we were upstairs in a hurry. The upshot is that the property is relatively new, so our room was done with modern finishes and didn't have the sometimes tired feeling that mid-level hotels can sometimes have - but it also didn't feel overly 'cheap' either (which is how new construction these days sometimes comes off as). In a corner room, we had plenty of light - but the blinds do not really do a great job of blocking it out, which can be a nuisance when sunrise is before 5 AM. The decently-sized minifridge (with a small freezer section) was a nice touch, particularly for storing craft beer to sip on at night. The bathroom was solid as well; my main complaint is that the Neutrogena-branded shampoo/conditioner that is provided comes in really thin containers that are kind of hard to get the goods out of (especially the conditioner). The rest of the common amenities are similarly nice and of new vintage as well. The elevators actually move up and down with relative quickness. With a fitness center and 2(!) pools (one indoor and one outdoor), there's no shortage of ways to get your exercise in if you aren't out hiking in Acadia. The front area has plenty of seating for folks enjoying the free breakfast served from 6-10, although it can get crowded at times. As for the food provided, the bacon and sausage were of decent quality, while the one time I ate the scrambled eggs, something clearly was off - they were rubbery and tasted a bit artificial. There are pastries and waffles available, as well as your typical concentrated juice machine - decent to fill yourself up on, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant, and with views of the bay from the window, it was nice to be a tad removed from downtown (which isn't a long walk away either) while still being very close to Bar Harbor's main crawl. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the fact that the amenities are pretty new (at least as of now) means that you do feel like you are getting a more upscale experience. I would definitely consider staying here the next time I visit the area. read more

New Hotel/Inn - located on a hill overlooking Frenchmen Bay & backing up to Acadia National Park. Hilton has hit a home run by designing a hotel the fits the culture of the area in its design. It is a magnificent location, my room faced East and the sun rise was spectacular. Service and staff helpful, the room appointments hit the Mark & my bed was very comfortable. Pool and hot tub accessible to wheel chair bound guests. Breakfast better than what i anticipated. My wife and i enjoyed the exercise equipment. The staff was very knowledgeable about what is available in the area including activities and restaurants. Great location for bikers and Kayak aficionados. Downtown Bar Harbor is just a brisk 10 minute walk away &lots of stores of every type including fresh made ice cream. Great town to walk after dinner. read more

So, evidently this hotel opened just a month before we came. It was amazing! We were on a road trip, and were kind of nervous to try a place that wasn't a chain hotel. This was one of the few we found online, and we decided to go with it rather than try a smaller place. Our GPS got confused looking for it, but we found it after a bit. It was super clean and welcoming as soon as we walked in. Service was very friendly to us, two tired travelers. We couldn't stop saying wow as we walked through. We weren't expecting anything bad, but this was better than we could have imagined. Our bedroom had a BEAUTIFUL view of Acadia National Park. The beds were extremely comfy. We think we might have been the first to stay in our room, because it was spotless! This is a great hotel to stay in, in an awesome town. It was the best hotel we stayed in for the entire trip! read more

This is probably the nicest Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. Very modern design at the top of a scenic mountain. My room had a mini fridge with a freezer and blinds which blocked all the sunlight! Front desk was very nice and greeted us warmly. We upgraded our room to a king size bed with a view of Cadillac mountain for an extra $40 a night. Our room is beautiful! Very very clean! Modern decor throughout the hotel and room which makes this place even more charming. It's a beachy / harbor decor that is fitting for the area and hotel with a bit of a rustic touch by the floors looking like they are wood but instead are actually tile. Who ever decorated this place should get a raise and plenty more hamptons to remodel because I've never been to another Hampton inn that looked so good! Free breakfast until 10 am and free wi fi. They have a pool and hot tub open until 10 pm. Laundry if you wish to do any. Nice parking lot with beautiful views from the lobby where you eat breakfast and in our room. read more

We loved the hotel! The room was large for our family of four. We were even able to get a rollout bed for extra room. The service was great! Very accommodating -loved the cookies the pool was fun and relaxing in the jacuzzi. The location was close to town, we had a car. Very clean, comfortable bed. We did lose power but that was due to power lines going down. Glad we picked this place and we will come again. read more

Let me say the best looking Hampton Inn I ever visit. The place is so clean and have that Maine by the water type decor. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. If you looking for a place to stay you should consider Hampton Inn. The rooms were clean and still fit the decor and vibe of Bar Harbor Maine. If you looking for a place to stay you should consider Hampton Inn! Our view was the ocean/water view since we're not as close to the water but farther enough we can get see it! Recently stayed here for a few days of hiking in Acadia and touring Bar Harbor. Overall -- 3.5. Room/hotel/amenities: 5. The room and hotel were very clean -- you can tell this is a newer property that's well kept. (The fact that it's the only seasonal Hilton property and is open less than half the year probably also helps it feel newer!) The fitness room and pools were also very well maintained and clean. Our hotel room had plenty of space. We had an "ocean view" room and it did indeed have a nice view of the water! While we ventured out one morning to see sunrise from Cadillac Mountain, we discovered on the other mornings that we got a great view of the sunrise from our room as well. Coffee/tea/hot cocoa are available around the clock in the lobby, and I was able to use the business center to buy and print my parking pass for Acadia grounds -- no charge for printing! This is one of the few "chain" hotels in the area, and it was great to accrue Hilton points for our stay. All this said, if your plans don't hinge on spending a lot of time in Bar Harbor, you have a family with kids (they have a kids' recreational area and both outdoor/indoor pools), you want to ensure having a fitness center and pool available, and/or you like the benefits of staying with a name-brand hotel chain with loyalty rewards system, this hotel may be a good pick for you. For what it's worth, there are several other hotels nearby with similar location issues, so be vigilant when booking around Bar Harbor and make sure to study the maps. read more

My girlfriend and I spent about a week in and around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We searched while trying to find a place to stay and we found this Hampton Inn. When we arrived late at night (around 10-11 pm) after driving for hours from Massachusetts the front desk was quick to get us settled, which I was more than grateful for. When booking this stay I chose an upper floor room and the view did not disappoint. From one side we had a view of Bar Harbor and the other side a view of Cadillac Mountain...it was glorious. The staff was more than helpful when asked and seemed always friendly and willing to help. The morning buffet was crowded at time but they always had it well stocked. Great hotel that situated close enough to Bar Harbor but also close enough to Acadia National Park. read more

The Hampton Inn is not a hotel brand I would typically associate with a 5 stars but this wonderful place in Bar Harbor definitely deserves it. We booked this hotel which at the time had zero ratings at our own risk and didn't know what to expect. We talked extensively on the way up to Bar Harbor that we hoped the hotel was worth the 6 hours drive from Connecticut. When we arrived in town we found that the road up to the hotel was loaded with holes and was very bumpy which didn't inspire confidence. Fortunately for us our fears were misplaced. The lobby had a spotless appearance like we were the first guests to ever enter the building. Everything on the ground floor was immaculate from the seemingly untouched children's play area to the breakfast tables lined up neatly in the dining hall. The front desk service was impeccable and we were warmly welcomed to the hotel that had only been officially opened 10 days prior to our arrival. Once we entered our room the first thing that we noticed was that fresh aroma that instantly reminds you that this was indeed a brand new building. The view was incredible of the four main islands that line the shore of Bar Harbor. The room came with a refrigerator compliments of the hotel and a very extensive cable package with HBO and Showtime. The beds were so soft that despite our best intentions to explore the town we found ourselves laying down for about 30 minutes until we had to force ourselves out of bed to actually see more of this quaint part of Maine beyond the Hampton Inn. I have traveled to a little over half the States as well as several European countries and I cannot understate that this was easily one of the cleanest and most comfortable hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in. The booking also included a breakfast that comprised of delicious turkey sausage and an omelette served on biodegradable plates which we thought was a great touch along with a selection of teas, coffee and juices. If you are looking for a great hotel near Acadia National Park this should be high on your list you will not regret it. read more

This is a really nice hotel. Price is high (~300 night) but everything in the area is expensive. Super clean with very friendly staff. Windows open a bit which is nice and shades keep the AM sun out and are easy to use. Indoor and outdoor pools with plenty of towels. Close to Acadia and laundry came in handy for our hiking clothes. Decent breakfast saves you from having to go out. read more

Stayed at many Hampton Inn, this is probably a top one. Have one of the best breakfast, also it is still new and very, very clean. I booked a regular view room but they gave me a mountain and partial ocean view room. However. I feel this hotel probably every room has views because where they situated.
