Comfortable stay. There is no shuttle service as the app would suggest, but instead the front desk arranges a Lyft to get you from the airport to the hotel. The room is comfortable and quiet. Nice and cool on a 110 degree day. I slept fairly well, but there was some sort of loud alarm going off at one point in the night. I have no idea what it was. Eventually fell back into a deep sleep. This Hampton Inn has one of the bigger pool and gym in this brand. The large capacity washer and drier are also convenient for road warriors and families with young kids. Just had a last minute booking after a cancelled flight. Was greeted with kindness and positive attitude. Regretfully, I left my phone behind in the early morning hours when catching my next flight. I called and the employees were exceptionally helpful in locating the phone and keeping me in the loop. The desk agent at check-in (about 9:30 pm) was excellent and the room was large and well-equipped. I appreciated the step-in shower. But it's a tired property. Carpet in the room was worn and stained, likewise the couch and easy chair. Paint was chipped on trim. The A/C units in both rooms of the suite were noisy and there was noise from the road outside. Breakfast was O.K. except for the lack of any fruit except wrapped whole apples. Coffee was terrible. First cup I got at breakfast was lukewarm. A server brought out a fresh pot and I was hopeful, but despite being hot, the taste of the coffee was like it was several days old. And the in-room coffee maker made pretty awful, weak stuff as well. I got stranded in Phoenix by Air Traffic Control and this was a place to lay my head for the night, but I will probably avoid it in the future, especially for what it cost me. read more

This hotel is designed for business travelers and airline employees wanting proximity to airport. The rate was decent, room was clean, comfortable and attractive; breakfast was as expected, with hot items. There was only 1 employee on duty on a late afternoon weekday; they appear short-staffed. But my 1 night stay was comfortable. Note there is a sketchy crowd hanging out at night, down the street on Van Buren. The pool is very small so if you seek more of a real swimmer's pool, book a resort property; most mid range Phoenix hotels have small pools (unlike what you find in Palm Springs). read more

Good enough stay for a couple of days, no complaints here. Close to everything and pretty safe area. We didn't stay much in the hotel, so we couldn't really enjoy all the perks they had to offer. They have good size bathrooms and plenty of bathroom necessities. Shower flow was good and the toilet flushes properly without having to wait for the water to fill for a long time. We'll definitely stay here again, if we're in the area. read more

Not one of the better stays that I've had with Hilton/Hampton Hotels. I usually don't ever have a problem, as I'm a Diamond member. But I'll keep it brief. I asked for a water on check in and was told that I opted for points. I would understand if I was asking for snacks and a water, but it was just water. Guess their expenses are too high to give 1 water bottle away. I get to my room and took a quick shower as a 6hr drive will make you do that. What do I find? 2 long black strands of hair. One on the shower curtain and the other in the tub. Not cool. What happened to standards? Just to be clear, I have short hair, so definitely not mine. I was originally in 217, but I was moved to 222, cuz 217 wasn't ready. Looks like 222 wasn't ready either. Lol. I used the toilet and noticed it was very slow to flush. Nothing like babysitting a toilet in a hotel. Am I right? On top of the slow flush, the toilet tank would top itself off with water every few minutes. Got to be a leaking valve or a worn out flapper (I've fixed my own toilets at home). I didn't think anything of it until I realized hearing the toilet fill up every few minutes killed any chance of a good night's rest. I called it. Sleep was horrible. Check out was 12 noon, and I had a pretty tight schedule and asked for a late check out just in case. I had to be at the airport by 1pm for an appointment with the US Department of Homeland Security. I decided to do a digital check out at 1158am to avoid confrontation with the front desk (abt my concerns) and to ensure I was on time. NGL, I prefer Hampton over all the Hilton hotels, but not this time. I suppose it doesn't matter if you're a Diamond member or not, they let you go thirsty/drink sink water, shower in a dirty tub, and have faulty plumbing). That reminds me, the remote for the TV only partially worked. Oh, and no diamond member parking, at least I didn't see any or offered, but definitely plenty of parking. The plus? The morning breakfast was excellent. I love the scrambled eggs and sausage patties. I'm not a fan of carbs, so the hot protein really hit the spot. While grabbing breakfast, I noticed that this was one of the very few places where I observed a tip jar. Does Hampton not pay well in Arizona? read more

The room was very nice and comfortable, everything in good working order, excellent AC, plenty of towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was back on again, the usual waffles, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage, quite good. There are a couple of issues: the hallways were very hot, the thermostat was set at 78 F, during April in Phoenix! The clerk said they couldn't fix it. The laundry room needs better ventilation. When the dryer ran, the room became a steam bath, condensation on the window, etc. Apart from those two issues, it's a nice place to stay while in Phoenix. read more

Two words: bed bugs. That's what I believe this is. Found it crawling across my bed. Wasn't happy. Flipped mattresses and didn't see more. Maybe came from neighboring room or they recently swapped mattresses? See pic. (The bedbug image is zoomed in on a piece of wrinkled paper.) My room was comp'd, but all I wanted was sleep and that was not accomplished unfortunately. Got an amazing rate at the Hampton Inn thanks to a price match to a sketchy web site. Arrived and chatted with the staff who were nice enough to upgrade me based on my Diamond status. The hotel itself was just OK, but I was pretty much only sleeping there anyway. Coffee available in the lobby was a welcome site when so many hotels aren't doing that right now "due to Covid." Good proximity to the airport and near enough to Downtown Tempe. I'd stay again if the price was right. read more

It wasn't too bad of a stay, the room we got was very spacious. The beds were a little bit hard but wasn't that bad to sleep on, pillows were so soft. I'm not sure if they had continental breakfast but we did see people hanging around the area as we were on our way out. TV worked and it had WiFi so hey that's always a plus. It has a couch in the room with a little table, that came in handy while we ate our dinner. This might be my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in. I was put here by my airline after a delay forced me to stay overnightand it ended up being so pleasant that I'm glad it happened! Completely rude, unprofessional and extremely uneducated check in host. She said upon checking in the room was paid for with my card on file, Then said we owed for the room, the room was not paid for, then she proceeded to say she never said the room was paid for. She was all over the place, (acted as if she was drunk or in drugs) she definitely doesn't know her job at all or know what she is doing. She admits at the very end that she was looking at a different screen, but the whole 30 minute argument (while she was basically yelling), when all we needed was clarification if the room was paid for or not, she kept saying "I'm just gonna cancel your reservation.". When I asked for her name she said "I'm canceling your reservation". If she was doing her job correctly, she wouldn't mind giving me her name by the way I think it's Angie. I'm If she doesn't like being called out or questioned she just says I'm gonna chancel your reservation. Keep in mind this is in the middle of the night where this Hampton Inn is located it is a very dirty, sketchy homeless crime infested area. I will be contacting Hampton Inn corperate and Hilton corperate offices. Hilton should be ashamed of putting their name on this hotel and hiring such unprofessional, rude and nasty people. read more

DEFINITELY NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY DURING COVID 19... HOTEL ROOM NOT CLEANED I travel for work every week and always stay at any Hilton locations when I fly in. I chose this location since it was fairly close to the airport. I reserved the King suite and did a digital check in to avoid going to the front desk during this pandemic. As soon as I went into my room, I noticed that the bathroom was not clean, that there were food crumbs all over the floor of both rooms, and to make matters worse, there was marijuana shavings on the end tables next to the bed, on the bed linings under the made bed and pubic hairs in the bed linings as well. I was totally disgusted and let the management know immediately. However they couldn't find me another King suite room available. I canceled my reservation and moved on to a CLEAN Hilton at the next city. I was only awarded 5,000 points towards my Diamond membership. Not Cool for the experience I just had here at this location. Wow what can I say other than worse hotel experience ever. I checked in on October 1st @ around 8pm with the front desk manager James who Was extremely helpful and told about the hotel. As I made my way to my room 430 which was not the room I originally booked (I booked a 1 king executive suite) this room I was given is a king standard room. I immediately called the front desk and talked with James once again who informed me his computer tells him differently and he can't help me. I was disappointed with the results so I ended up just unpacking my things since I would be here for 5 days. Upon unpacking I notice the desk was super sticky (see picture) and the fridge had prior guest leftover food I had to dispose off, plus the desk lamp sparked when I went to turn it on. On my 2nd day I discover more issues such as a/c compressor not coming on, No Hot water, the knob to turn on the shower broke into my hand. After telling James about these issues he comped one of my nights and sent Maintenance to fix the shower knob & hot water. The maintenance guy was able to fix the hot water and knob for the shower but I then start to wonder why wouldn't they just move me to a different room after so many issues which I confronted James about and he said no such thing can happen. I told James I work for Hilton and I know for a fact something like that can happen then he muffed we sold out. I just walked away. On my last night (Oct 5th) after coming back from hiking all-day in Sedona, I notice my room was never cleaned and the a/c still wasn't fixed and so I talked with a different employee who sent maintenance up with a Temperature Gauge and housekeeping to haft clean the room while I was out getting dinner. Upon arriving back I notice the room was super stuffy so I contacted the front desk and James was the one who picked up and told me he will come up right away. This time both James & The maintenance guy came up and told me there's nothing wrong with the a/c but I told them how come the compressor isn't kicking on when it's on the constant fan mode. Come to find out something was indeed wrong and it took 4 minutes to fix TEMPORARY!!! The maintenance guy said this should hold till u check out. Not sure what they did but the compressor was on and the room was cooling down so I was happy. To make a long story short, It seems James had changed his attitude and wanted to help me as much as possible after I emailed the GM Robert Wade who never had once reached out to me after letting him know my concerns. read more

Absolutely the rudest front desk staff at any hotel we've ever visited; Ashley. We arrived early for our stay (about 1.5 hrs), when attempting to check in she looked at my ID and confirmed the reservation. But that the room was not yet ready...which was understandable however she did say it would be about 30 minutes. I continued to check the app for a digital key but no luck. It was almost an hour later when we went to check again. This time my husband took his turn, she had just seen both of us but stated she'd need to see MY ID again. And then scolded us for reserving in MY name, even though he is very clearly with me & presented his US govt ID to justify the room rate. This is our 4th Hilton of our vacation stay in the same week, all booked in exactly the same manner with not one issue. She stated their hotel has different owners and follows different rules....all while making NO eye contact with me. When I asked if she could give me the curtesy of looking at me while talking to me, her response was simply "no". I asked for a card with her information and she pointed to the end of the counter. I inquired if she felt inclined to hand it to me and again she said "no". The other front desk employee must have been uncomfortable because she also could not look up from her computer. After standing in front of her for another 15 minutes (5 minutes before official checkin time) she handed me room keys ... to a room I did not select via the app, but at least it was a clean, ready room. The hotel itself was nice enough but based on that simple 30 minute-ish exchange, we will never return and I urge others to steer clear as well. read more

I woke up to get ready for my flight to find there was no hot water. I called downstairs and the guy who answered stated someone else just said the same thing. He then said "the company" is working on it. If he just found out a moment before then how does he know "the company" is on it. Needless to say we had to take cold showers to get ready for our flight. At check out he said something to the effect of "we hope to see you again" to which I said that will never happen. If I could give zero I would! Worst customer service ever. We've stayed here before and had great service at the front desk, not today. We called from the airport to get a ride and they set up Lyft. We had 5 rides canceled. I called again to ask what is happening, as it is 105 degrees out, and she said you can get your own ride. Which we did, requested Uber and they were there in minutes. When I got to the hotel, I expressed my dissatisfaction and she said "I can refuse you service". I said yes and went next door to the Marriott. I asked for a printed copy showing that I would not be charged and she said she couldn't do that. I asked for a manager and she said there's no one on site read more

I stayed in this hotel for one night last weekend before catching an early morning flight home. Check in was easy and pleasant. My room was a suite type with a 4 foot tall divider separating the bedroom part from the living room part. The room had a wall thermostat that appeared to be working. Then I discovered it really wasn't and that the ac had a thermostat on it that actually did work. The ac worked fine. Bed was comfortable and bathroom normal sized. I caught breakfast right at 6:00 a.m. Before the hotel shuttle left for airport. Checkout the next morning was very friendly and warm. My rate booked on the Hilton website was very reasonable. I would happily stay here again. I give a 3 because this property met my expectations. I stay at many Hilton properties each year and this Hampton delivered the usual pleasant stay that I have come to expect of Hilton. read more

What a terrible visit!! The bathroom was a scene out of a horror film. The sink and bathtub were something you couldn't even imagine! Upon check in the front desk lady was pretty nice. However she didn't even put in my rewards number upon arrival. I had to let her know I was a diamond member. She seemed shocked that I was a diamond member?? After entering my room I went straight to the bed and sat down. There was a sticky note, yes a sticky note attached to the head board. It read "your sheets and duvet cover are cleaned for your stay". As if they shouldn't be cleaned already? Maybe a nice Hampton Inn card that read the same thing nicely placed on the bed would of been a nicer touch then a sticky note hand written and placed on the head board? Then I walked into the bathroom. This is when I packed my bags and decided not to stay at this location. There where stains in the bathtub and the sink and mirror was something only you could think of in your worst nightmare. I have attached some pictures just scroll through the pictures they are towards the end. I told the lady downstairs, which she apologized for. She offered to put me in another room which I turned down because I was pretty traumatized at this point. She took down my number so the manager would call me. That has been several days ago which I never received a phone call or email or anything about my stay. That is why I'm writing this review. I understand things happen but it's how you make things right or better which has not happened. I'm very surprised that Hilton owns this property, get it together hilton or just get rid of this one all together because this one is tarnishing your name. We have stayed at this hotel 1-2 times per year for the last 20 years. In March, we stayed there, parked our car in the hotel lot as normal and came out in the morning to this. All 4 wheels stolen and the car on cement blocks in the hotel parking lot. The hotel did nothing - no security footage, no help with damages, not even a complimentary stay. In fact, they had their insurance specifically write to us to tell us they were not going to help us at all. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you are willing to risk a couple thousand dollar repair bill. read more
