While watering the yard outside this morning, I realized that one of our outdoor faucets was having a large leak. In over half an hour it had filled a bucket up! Hamzeh is a fantastic plumber, as is his right hand man Ed. But more than being just a great plumber, he's just a really smart guy who's great at problem solving in general. On top of that, he's on time, he's prompt, he works very efficiently, and he's fair in terms of price. When he finished the job faster than expected, he took a chunk off the bill, even though I had already agreed to paying the full amount. We had an emergency, he was able to come out the next day, and even during prime traffic hours in the bay area he was on time. He checked everything, and we agreed to put the estimate cost (175) towards the final bill, which I thought was very fair, since he did a very thorough job of inspecting the crawlspace and pipes. He took videos so I could see what was happening, and he was very keen on educating me about plumbing, which was kinda cool. My house is set up so that the pipes in question are very hard to access, so originally we thought we were going to have to break open a wall to get to the pipes, which would require us getting a contractor and spending a ton of $$$. Hamzeh and Ed brainstormed up a way of accessing the dishwasher, and the pipe set up was done in a way that make it very difficult for them -- but saved me a ton of money because we didn't have to get a contractor to basically demolish and rebuild sheetrock / drywall. If I have other issues, I would definitely call Hamzeh, as I feel like I can trust him to accurately diagnose the problem and come up with a future-proofed solution. read more

Hamzeh used a bladed snake tool to clear it out, which is better than the plumbers that just use a snake (no blades). The blades were able to pull out a surprise visitor in the sewer lateral: a rat. I needed something fixed in my shower in my condo and called Stephen Plumbing Services. The number was answered by Bell Plumbing. When they came out someone from Smelly Mel's Plumbing showed up. They gave me an estimate and I felt it was high plus I wasn't sure what company I was actually dealing with. I called around to get a few more estimates so I called First Call Plumbing. They were 'too busy' and brushed me off. Then I called James Caccia Plumbing and their receptionist told me they don't do any work in HOA buildings. I called Hamzeh Plumbing and to my surprise, Hamzeh himself answered the phone. I described the problem and sent him a few pictures. He understood what the problem was and was at my place later that morning. He fixed the problem and charged my much less that what I was previously quoted along with a one year warranty. Hamzeh saved the day!! My downstairs neighbor informed me that water was leaking down into his kitchen. I called my HOA/property manager and they sent in Pro-Roto, who they have a contract with. The plumber from Pro-Roto was "100% sure" that our kitchen drain has rotted and he needs to cut the ceiling in my neighbor's unit and fix the problem. He said it will cost me $3,600 and the job will take 3-4days. I asked him for more color to the situation, and he said he "didn't want get in between the HOA and me". I found this to be odd. I called Hamzeh since his Yelp reviews were solid. He said he would like to take a look and diagnose the problem. He came over and within a minute (I kid you not) he identified the problem, didn't have to cut my neighbor's ceiling, fixed the problem and cost me only $950. His whole process is great. I've not been able to use my dishwasher for a good month or so due to an air gap/hose issue. This was quickly diagnosed, on the phone, mind you and rectified in a span of 30 minutes by Hamzeh upon his arrival. The man is honest and provides a fair and reasonable price for the job. I'm pretty sure I wrote a review of Hamzeh Plumbing the last time I needed him, but here's another. Toilet clogged up and I couldn't get it unclogged using a plunger, which is the full extent of my plumbing prowess. So I called Hamzeh mid day today. He answered his phone and agreed to come by early evening. He called when he was on the way, arrived in good time, was cheery and friendly and not grossed out by my plumbing problems. He fixed it in about 15 min., completely cleaned up that gross, awful toilet and gave me a few tips on how to keep it working well. Like the other reviewers say: Hamzeh is a lifesaver who you'll really appreciate if you've been wrestling with so-so pipes or so-so plumbers. He quickly replaced a ton of 70-year-old galvanized steel pipe and corrected a bunch of mistakes wrought by earlier repairs. Three things stand out: (1) Hamzeh knows his stuff. He not only knew how to rebuild an ancient shower valve in my house, but he knew where to get the 20-or-so arcane gaskets we needed. (2) He does not cheap out on the parts. Yes, you're the one paying for the parts, but here's the point: You're paying a plumber for the hours needed to install something. If he installs a cheap valve that will need replacement soon, then you saved $1 on the part and you'll pay for it in, say, $300 worth of labor 2 years from now. So listen to Hamzeh: Use decent quality parts. (3) He lays out all the options for you. This goes with #1, above. He's got the experience to know what the various options are in a given situation, and he'll spell them out for you. read more

I woke up one morning hearing this gargle / bubbling noise from the toilet. Not really thinking anything of it, I started to do laundry, and this is where things got bad. Soapy water started backing up into the tub and my toilet wasn't flushing. With only 1 bathroom in the house, I needed a plumber sooner, than later. Hamzeh to the rescue! Hamzeh gave me an hour window and he showed up on time. Turns out when you get that bubbling noise from the toilet your sewage line might be broken. Without a clean out, Hamzeh snaked the sewage line through the toilet and pulled roots and even worms! He pointed out that when he pulls worms, it's a sure sign that your line has been broken for awhile. When he was done, he made sure he cleaned up the mess and sanitized my bathroom, bonus points. While working with Hamzeh I felt that he was genuine and really knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him, and would work with him again if needed (hopefully not anytime soon). read more

We have a slab foundation home and needed to access a blown pipe beneath the bathtub. We had quite a few plumbers come out. Some had lower prices than Hamzeh, but they had little in the way of warranties. Some had higher prices, but seemed uncertain they could do the job without taking apart our entire bathroom. Met with Hamzeh and brother. Had to crawl under my home found cracked connector that routed waste water from my washing machine and kitchen sink to sewer lateral. Gave me a discount and did job that after noon. Had to chip into stucco for replacement clean out. Then ran over forty feet of three inch pipe which was only two inch. Also with the two connections then cut into four inch lateral. Then the moment of truth run a load of wash befor they left. Little over three hours. WOW!! Also fixed under my sink a small leak. We moved into a new house two years ago. For two years we had HomeGuard HomeWarranty, and they charge a lot also sent us not really good technicians. We have two dishwashers and we always had a problem one of them, like pipes were leaking water to cabinets, it wasn't draining very well etc. Whomever HomeWarranty sent us they couldn't find what was wrong. Plumbing problems are problems we all fear for one reason: we are never sure on exactly who we can rely. Rest easy, Hamzeh Plumbing is the best plumbing expert you will ever need. Hamzeh helped us a long while back while he was with another company so we were especially happy we tracked him down and that he is now on his own. In a word, Hamzeh's plumbing services are superb. First, when he says he will be there at a certain time -- he is! That fact, alone, should deem him trustworthy. Second, he is supremely knowledgeable about whatever plumbing issues you may have. Third, he works on holidays. Today, we had a dishwasher plumbing problem and Hamzeh said he could come out to take a look. He said he would arrive at 10:00 a.m. and he was ringing our doorbell at 9:58 a.m. Knowing how sacred our hardwood floors and carpets are, Hamzeh came prepared with the worker "booties" and walked in to tackle the problem. Within a few minutes, he figured out what was wrong. Resolving it, I thought, may require more time since we had to change out some rubber piping. Lo and behold, he does carry plumbing parts in his truck. That time savings was perfect and convenient. His service did not stop there, however. Once he switched out the parts, his re-assembly of the kitchen faucets was just as meticulous. Not happy with the way it looked, he took a few more minutes to make it look perfect, then added some extra sealing that is going to benefit us later. Hamzeh also is extremely personable. His style is quick, but not rushed. His prices were competitive, but extremely reasonable. What's more, he does not try to upsell you. For example, we had an ancillary problem with an Insta-hot kitchen faucet. Hamzeh advised me of what to do and what we needed, but was fine with me calling him back when we were ready. That advice, and patience, in a professional is refreshing considering we have had service persons come out and, on occasion, try to talk us into a complete remodel when all we needed was a touch of paint. Hamzeh is great! We discovered a leak in one of the pipes for our water heater the night before. We called someone else first but never received a response. Hamzeh responded quickly the next morning and was over in 20 minutes. He quickly diagnosed the problem and knew exactly how to handle our problem. There were two outcomes for us in the fix: either he'll try to replace the pipe and hope it works or he'll have to replace the whole thing. He was nice enough to try the pipe replacement before doing the whole thing and said that he'd only charge us for whichever ends up fixing the problem. Fortunately for us, he was able to fix the problem simply by replacing the pipe. Before he left, he gave us tips on what to do during the next water heater break down. We called several plumbers when our toilet was clogged at 730pm. No one answered except for Hamzeh. He arrived that evening. Turns out our pipe was cracked and the toilet was cracked. He walked us through everything and then provided a very reasonable quote. We agreed to have him start the job immediately. He took extra care to protect our hardwood floor and carpet as it was our hallway bathroom. He was super considerate to the fact that we have a newborn and needed the work done ASAP. Very meticulous and professional. The job took two days only because we didn't call him until late evening. He tested everything before leaving. He kept his equipment, tools and work area very tidy.
