I would give Elite Rooter zero stars if I could. I hired this company to connect a water supply line to the refrigerator at my rental property. After the installation, the fridge started making a very loud noise whenever water was dispensed. This issue continued for about 1.5 months. Their team initially blamed the refrigerator and even claimed the noise was coming from the compressor, not from their installation. Eventually, I went to the house myself and checked behind the refrigerator. I discovered that the technician had connected the water source to the wrong inlet and had basically bypassed the refrigerator's solenoid/water inlet valve. He also bundled the main fridge pipe that was supposed to be connected to the water inlet valve and told my tenant that the pipe was useless and not needed. When Elite Rooter sent the original technician, Oscar, back to the house, I showed him the correct connector behind the fridge and asked him if he knew what it was for. He said, "No, I don't know what it is." When I told him that he should know because the job was to connect water to the refrigerator, he said he was "not supposed to know this" because he is "not an appliance technician." That response was very concerning to me, especially after they had already done the job incorrectly. I then called his manager, David Herb, and asked if he could come himself or send someone other than Oscar to fix the issue. He refused and insisted that Oscar should fix it, while also saying Oscar had not made any mistake and that I was wasting his time on the phone. When I asked Oscar to repeat to David what he had just told me inside the house, Oscar denied saying it. After David spoke privately with Oscar on the phone, Oscar left the house without notifying me. I then called David several times, texted him, and sent him a video showing the issue behind the fridge, but he did not respond. I had to call the main Elite Rooter office and explain the whole situation to the operator, asking them to send someone else and to escalate David's behavior to higher management. Only after that did David finally texted me that he was coming himself. I waited again, and when he arrived, he checked the fridge and admitted that Oscar had made a mistake in installing the pipes. David fixed the issue himself and apologized. Although the issue was finally corrected, the whole experience was extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and time-consuming. It took about 1.5 months from the original installation until they finally fixed their mistake. I had to personally diagnose the problem, wait at the house for hours, deal with a technician who denied responsibility, and deal with a manager who was dismissive and unresponsive until I escalated the issue. It took two days to remove a clog. On day one, they refused to snake it, insisting on using a camera and then flushing it with high pressure. Instead of clearing the line, they pushed the clog out past a single unit, so it affected 7 units, then left for the day. When they came back, they tried to upsell me on replacing the clogged pipe for $25k. When I balked at the price, they said they gave me the wrong price, then went down to $22k, then $18k, then I said the most I could pay was $15k, and they agreed. Once they thought I was going to pay for that big job, they finally agreed to use the snake to remove the clog, which is what I called them out for in the first place. Needless to say, I will not be working with them again. FYI: The worker, Chris, was great. It's the company management I have a problem with. In the end, I got charged for using the camera, flushing, and snaking--and had to put tenants up in a hotel for the night, which could have been avoided if they had simply snaked the line as I asked them to. read more

One of the Worst Service Experiences I've Ever Had - Avoid This Company We were in a tough situation with a clogged toilet and needed urgent help. Unfortunately, calling this plumbing company turned out to be a huge and costly mistake. They began by uninstalling and reinstalling our TOTO toilet. Not only did this fail to fix the issue, but the toilet has never worked properly since. To make matters worse, they lost a part in the process and charged us $500 for that alone. Then came the upsell: they insisted we needed a hydro flush, which cost us $1,750. It still didn't fix the problem. Frustrated, we brought in a specialist who quickly diagnosed the issue and resolved it with a simple snaking of the line--something that should have been done from the start. The line was serviceable, and all that costly work we were sold on was unnecessary. What became clear is that their approach was not about solving the problem, but about pushing the most expensive services possible, regardless of whether they were needed. I've called at least a dozen times asking to speak with a manager and request a partial refund. They have mostly ignored my calls. Their lack of accountability and customer service is appalling. Bottom line: stay away from this company. They took advantage of our desperation, overcharged us for work that didn't solve the problem, and then ignored our attempts to resolve the issue. 3 stars - Meh...OK. The work was to fix the leaking shower head in the bathroom. I was offered 2 quotes. 1] To diagnose the problem and try to fix the showerhead. But I was told there was no guarantee it would work ($400). So the other option was 2] Replace the whole shower system for around $3500. The initial visiting fee of $189 would be adjusted into this amount if I went for the whole replacement. I fell for the upsell. The quote they provided was 15% higher than the 2nd quote I got. However, their promise was to also complete the drywall work as best as a plumber could. The hassle of having to find a handyman to do that work tempted me into accepting the higher-cost item. The work itself went at a very slow pace with the installer (Robert) taking a full day (around 8 hours) to replace the shower system. He took the brass/copper connecter with him (apparently they have good resale value). His promise was to return the following day to level the drywall. Surprise #1...I was supposed to buy the spray paint required to texture the wall...something they said they would take care of in the beginning. Surprise #2.....Robert demanded 100% payment even before the work was completed. This after I had paid 10% down. Surprise #3....The initial visiting fee of $189 was NOT part of the full amount. A phone call to Robert's supervisor, Alexander fixed that 3rd problem. It did not come as a surprise that the following day Robert never showed up and Elite rooter abandoned the drywall work. Ultimately, I ended up hiring a (good) handyman to get the drywall fixed. I contacted their service email and got a reply from Trisha. After providing her my home address, there has been total silence...no replies. The problem was bigger than expected and more inspection was needed, which was performed the same day, and a solution was suggested. We ended up replacing our sewer line, fixing the clean out. He ended with a smarmy "have a nice day and hung up." I spoke to the guy that actually was going to do the work as he was driving to the house and he was prepared to sell me on something bigger. Luckily I was able to shut down the upsell because I had something in writing and a Yelp message quoting a price. they told me they would send somebody out with a hundred foot snake and get a free camera inspection as part of the service period turns out they have a 75-ft Max cable length which is not that big of a deal but no camera service unless you have a 3-in vent which is pretty rare to find in residential single-family home. I would definitely recommend staying away from this company. My text: Gabe, I wanted to tell you that I very much did not appreciate your very condescending attitude and complete fail on customer service. I had booked an appointment for today 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. yesterday. No one from your company showed up today and when I called they said "we don't remember any appointment and did I maybe call the wrong number yesterday?." I asked them to fix a water flow problem in my guest bathroom, which was actually due to water saving showerhead used by the previous owner, and they opened up the wall, charged me $2k and said more would be needed to fix the underlying valves. Back of house drain was clogged and after I tried everything I could, I found Elite Rooter on Yelp. I scheduled them to come out the following day. Two plumbers showed up (Greg and his apprentice), on time, wore masks and they very professional. They snaked the drain and found the issue to be deeper than at the drain itself. Since the pipes were installed in the 1950's, I elected to have them use a camera to see where the issue was for an additional cost. They were able to get the camera person there same day. They showed me where there was build up in the pipe, standing water in the pipe (bad grading) and where there were roots growing into the pipe. I then elected to have them hydrojet (clean) the inside of the pipe to the street. Since it was late, they came back the next day. It was an additional cost of course (hydro jetting) but well worth it. Now I know what needs to be done. I am very happy with the quality of workmanship and the professionalism of the plumbers who showed up to fix my issues. I would recommend them to family and friends. read more

We had a clogged up shower drain. He was very conscientious - putting on those blue shoe covers in our house and laying down a covering around the shower in case there was a mess. Adhemar had to use the snake and dig pretty deep for some time before he got the clog out - a baseball sized ball of hair. As he was clearing it out, he was incredibly informative and asked some good questions about the piping (when were remodels done, pipe material types, etc.) to potentially diagnose and prevent future clogs.
