Han Joo Chik Naeng Myun & BBQ does Korean barbecue a little differently. Instead of the usual grill, they use a crystal plate to cook the meat, which is really cool. I came here with a group of four on a Saturday afternoon, and we got seated right away since it wasn't too busy. We went for the Number One Sampler, which had a mix of meats, kimchi, eggs, and spicy tofu stew. The staff grills the meat for you on the crystal plate, and I noticed it didn't get as oily as a regular grill. It took a little longer to cook, but the meat came out tender and crispy. The kimchi was amazing--probably the best I've had at a Korean BBQ spot! I even had to ask for seconds. I also ordered the spicy cold noodles, which I always get with BBQ because they balance out the richness. These noodles were perfect--not too spicy or vinegary, and they had that perfect chewy texture without being too chewy. One thing I was surprised by--after we finished, I was expecting to smell like BBQ all day, but we didn't! Either it's the crystal plate or the restaurant has great ventilation, but I didn't leave smelling like a grill. If you love Korean BBQ but find it a little too oily sometimes, I'd definitely recommend this spot. The crystal plate makes a big difference, and everything we had was delicious.

If you're looking for a place with great service, delicious pork belly, LA Galbi, this is the place. They cook the meats to perfection right in-front of you on their crystal grills (which I haven't seen before but it's interesting). When I'm feeling indecisive and I'm not sure if I want kbbq or hotpot I'll go to KPot, but if I know I want kbbq, I would come here. We ordered a little too much, I couldn't even finish the mul naeng myun... but I know for next time. Parking was a bit of a nuisance but on the bright side, it's right next to Murray Hill LIRR station.

    Super delish and refreshing!

Delicious korean food from a mom&pop shop! We came here last weekend when it was pouring rain & there was no one. Food was amazing & the service was excellent! We ordered to share: 1) the LA Galbi+Naeng Mun (Cold Noodle) Combo, 2) #3 (Mo Deum Sam Gyup Sal) which is the small version of the crystal grill. The amount of food we ordered above was more than enough for 2 of us. We were beyond stuffed!! The LA Galbi (marinated beef short ribs) was one of the best I have eaten! It was super tender, juicy, falls off the bone & well marinated (super savory w/ a nice tint of sweetness)! I was so sad when all the galbi were devoured. I wish they would sell a larger version of this! I would reorder this item w/o a doubt! Naeng Mun (arrowroot starch noodle, sliced beef & vegetable in chilled beef broth) - The broth was super refreshing, vinegarish & delicious. Since the noodles were chewier and thick, I almost choked on them. I think the noodles needed to be snipped more. The #3 combo (mo deum sam gyup sal) - it was more than enough food for 2 people. All the meats & the kimchi were super delicious & well marinated! The staff helped us cook the meats & whenever it was ready she would tell us to eat it soon. The staff was very sweet. The banchan was delicious & the staff was so nice for refilling them. If I come back, I would reorder everything I ate again.

Eh, not worth the hype. Service wasn't friendly. The food was priced pretty high. The cold noodles weren't anything special. Sure, the radish in it was fresh. The side dishes were not up to par, pretty disappointing. Free parking is available nearby in the residential areas.

Been coming here often recently. I have two words for you: PORK BELLY. They offer many different types but we always get #8 or the thick cut. Its grilled with kimchi and beansprouts (and it is bomb dot com). 4 stars because I wish their menu was more extensive or customizable. We come here with the intention of ordering nengmyun but we always divert our attention to pork belly. They offer a few combos such as a nengmyun + kalbi special or a nengmyun + dumpling special but theres no substitutes allowed. This pork belly loving girl would really appreciate the option to order a smaller portioned nengmyun with pork belly or a nengmyun + pork belly combo because life should be all about options! Am I right? :)

Han Joo's that neighborhood favorite where everyone knows they'll get good pork belly. It never disappoints and the cold noodles are the perfect compliment to the flavorful pork belly. It was my first since Covid began, and they've kept up their quality. One thing I will say is that their service was a bit slow and a couple of times, we asked for things and just never got themThey were relatively busy for a Monday night, but not too busy, so we weren't sure what was going on. They are very busy on the weekend so I'd recommend going a bit earlier to get a table.

Korean bbq and noodles Flushing NY We were in mood for arrowroot naengmyun and tried combo menu which came with galbi and dumpling. Galbi was marinated well but portion was very little and dumpling was too salty and didn't taste like it was home made. Bibim and mul nangmyun were tasty but the noodles were little overcooked for my taste. We liked the banchan and service was attentive, the restaurant had about 10 tables.

Came here for the first time for som naeng myun and wasn't disappointed! Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was seated promptly. The servers there speak both Korean and Chinese. We didn't get bbq during this visit but will definitely be back to try some next time. We got the naengmyun and galbi combo & the soondoobu and galbi combo. Both were around $25. The banchan was good while we waited for our food. The portion size for the naengmyun and Galbi was really good. Soondoobu was in a smaller bowl but was still enough to have us feeling full. The Galbi was so tender and soft with the right amount of char. The naengmyun hit the spot, only one piece of beef but that didn't bother me. I got the one with the spicy sauce as you get to choose your choice of naengmyun. Overall reasonably priced for the portion and really good food!

Han Joo Chik Naeng Myun & BBQ is one of our favorite Korea BBQ in Flushing. Parking is difficult around there but the wait wasn't bad. Their decor was historical and authentic with narrow-spaced seats. (A-Jum-Ma) there who can also speak Chinese were super friendly, passionate and honest. My husband and I tried to order "no.1 Do Ya Ji(L)" which is for 4 people with all pork selection. A-Jim-Ma stopped us and recommended us to order "no.3 Mo Deum Sam Gyup Sai(S)" for 2 people instead. She was completely right and we ended up full but not feeling greasy. The quality of their pork was not the best but the way they served would let us feel satisfied. We highly recommend to have their green-tea-flavored pork belly which was delicious and light. We also tried their Seolleongtang which was cooked properly but not as great as other places which are famous with soup.

I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 4 people. This is an old school Korean BBQ place where they still use a crystal plate to grill. It's tilted so the fat from the meat drips down. They also grill the kimchi as well which is delicious. I'm not a fan of cold kimchi haha. We ordered the seafood pancake and the medium pork belly set which has enough meat for 4 people. Service was great, they cook the meat quickly and refill everything before you even ask (lettuce, onions, sauce, seasonings, panchan). There's a good variety of pork belly with varying thickness, I prefer the thicker cut. Also, when you're done eating, they give you a complimentary yogurt drink which was nice. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

    Banchan

1st time here today & the server was so sweet. There was 8 banchan: peanuts (a lot of people are allergic including me so idk why they serve it), broccoli, Lotus root, bean sprouts, 2 types of kimchi, pasta salad, potato in sweet sauce. I liked everything except the peanuts which I stayed away from & the sweet sauce ruined the potato imo. I hate anything sweet unless it's dessert. Anyway, I loves restaurants like this cuz they serve so much banchan & it fills you up. We got the LA Galbi & Sundubu Jjigae Combo which is $20. The Galbi was unfortunately sweet like all other Asian BBQ places. Like I said before, I hate anything sweet unless it's dessert. The meat itself was good & tender. The server had the foresight to tell me that at its really spicy. So, I requested a mild version which pretty much saved my life. The Jjigae was decent. Imo Mapo's is better but it was still good. It tasted a bit like doenjang jjigae to me which was weird but the seafood in it was good & so was the tofu. I think they charge for the rice tho.

I never know how to order at these places because everyone only speaks in korean but I saw some people pointing at items on the menu. My friend's parents just ordered for the table. The sliced duck is so good. The restaurant brings fresh kimchi out of the jar and cuts it on the grill. The duck fat oozes onto the kimchi so it isn't sticky on the griller. The amount of size dishes were the usual. They give the table a side of streamed egg for the bbq. Enough lettuce too. As for the cold noodles, it's not for everyone. Our other friend wasn't a big fan but he also doesn't like korean food that much besides spicy rice cakes. I picked the non spicy one with the broth only because I find the spicy one to have too much of a taste similar to the side dishes. I usually put 6-8 rings of vinegar around the bowl and only just a little bit of the watered down wasabi. It can be a lot of noodles. But drinking out of the bowl and eating the pear is the best part! Also, this place rocks because they always give out yogurts at the end.

Pretty good Korean BBQ place located in a relatively tranquil part of Flushing. I was even able to find street parking nearby. Upon arrival and sitting down, other than the cool breeze from the open door, we noticed they use a tilted crystal slabs for grilling. The icy jug of barley tea was a nice touch. The kalbi was pretty good. Tender and delicious as it should be at a good kbbq restaurant. Pretty standard pricing for NY/NJ at $34.95 per order. More off the beaten path we had an order of thinly sliced grilled duck - ori dae pae for $22.95. It was delicious especially when eaten with grilled kimchi or wrapped in lettuce with soy bean paste and powder and pickled turnip. Also pretty good and standard was the naeng myun cold buckwheat noodles. It was $10.95. Good broth flavor and elasticity of the noodles. We didn't have a chance to try Hanjoo's specialty, the grilled pork belly, unfortunately.

I walked in and someone immediately said welcome to me as I came up to the counter and handed me the English menu. Luckily I had perused it online and discussed items with my mandarin speaking friends. I ordered the popular lamb burger, and the lamb haslet noodle soup (the organs of lamb). The person taking my order spoke English well enough, confirmed my order, told me the price, and I paid immediately. Due to language, I opted to just stand by the front to wait for my food. In that time the tables filled up so I did end up sharing one of the larger tables with several other people. My food came out quite quickly, and I sat down to eat. The noodles (which I watched being freshly pulled) were a great texture, meet was great though there wasn't a lot of it in the soup, and the broth was good! I added chili oil and msg and vinegar to it which was really great in bringing out every flavor. I also really enjoyed the lamb burger, which needed no modifications. I did end up taking that with me to to due to how filling the soup was. Both together were $17 for easily 2-3 meals person dependent. The people working were quite nice, someone even asked me how I liked it as I was bussing my table. The spot itself is quite casual, a lot of great options, huge serving sizes, and people seeming to really take their time there. Definitely a good stop to try in the area!

It's a small place with around six tables and three staff members (two in the kitchen and one taking orders, serving, bussing, and cleaning). Not the most glamorous vision of a restaurant, right? But the food is tasty! We had the summer rolls, peppered calamari, the signature pho, and the beef short-rib pho. The summer rolls and calamari were good, you could taste the freshness of the veggies and shrimp. I wish the calamari had been a bit crispier and seasoned with a touch more salt and pepper, but it was still very good. The real reason I'll be coming back is the pho broth. Some people might describe it as slightly sweet, but to me, it had a rich, balanced flavor.
