We love coming to Hana Sushi, good food but the best part is the service. The second they see your drink is even nearing empty someone is always there to fill you with whatever you are drinking. I love Hana because the food is always fresh and there are no long waits. I've been a regular for a while now, and the food gets better and better :) It's fairly clean-- I haven't been to the other Hana locations, but I figured they'd be about the same. I'd definitely recommend this place to al my friends. I am especially a fan of their sushi. The portions are very large.... I tried their teriyaki a number of times, and it's good also. They must have had a bad night? I've been here multiple times and have always been very satisfied. Not last night. The quality of the fish was good, but the service was terrible. Table of 2; they brought us our appetizers and 1st rolls, but never any utensils. No chopsticks, no napkins, no side of sauce like we asked for. After waiting too long, I had to get up and go to another table to take chopsticks for myself. After asking a 2nd time for the side of sauce, it came about 15 minutes later when my gf only had 2 pieces of her $17 roll left. Had to ask for napkins which came at the end of the meal, after literally everything was eaten...and even then she handed us 2 napkins...1 each. The food is expensive. Average about $15/roll Drinks were long empty before refilled. My drink was $2.95 on the menu but magically went up in price to $3.25 by the time it got on our bill. Yes, it was busy, but that's no excuse. They did not appear to be understaffed. I work too hard for my money to be overcharged and ignored/forgotten about when I go out to eat. As a major sushi addict, I have to say I was disappointed. The sushi wasn't anything special. The fish was chewy and tasted off. There was weird, unwelcoming and uptight vibe which made me feel uncomfortable however the servers were somewhat nice. Way way overpriced especially considering the quality. The mochi was hard and cut into big pieces that weren't bite sized and the mochi to ice cream ratio was a little wack. I would recommend Sushi Love Boat, being my personal favorite in Temecula, or Sushi Boat, being my 2nd personal favorite, over this any day. read more

Jake's Hana Sushi is BY FAR the absolute best sushi restaurant there is!!! I've brought friends from LA here that we're blown away at how fantastic the food and flare of the restaurant is. Every dish is a work of art and they are consistent on each and every visit. Great portions and the absolute freshest fish you will find anywhere. While there may be many Hana's around the area there is only ONE Jake's Hana Sushi so do not hesitate to drive a few extra miles if you have to to Temecula Parkway. This is my favorite place to have sushi in Temecula. They have a large variety of rolls but it's the generous pieces of fish that makes this place stand out from the rest. It is nicely decorated and all the sushi chefs are very friendly. They give you a free dessert if you become a regular =) I recommend the sashimi salad. It was excellent! read more

The California roll I ordered was boring, mostly avocado and cucumber, not enough meat for my liking. They sat us down, but after sitting us down...the hostess came up to our table and stated that she didn't realized that there was another party of 8 before us, and that we had to leave the table and wait for the next one. First of all, if you're going to sit customers down, and realize later on that there are bigger parties that needed the booth before us...my advice, find us another table and kindly apologize that we needed to be move to another table. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. We felt like criminals, like we did something wrong. Our party just decided to leave after that whole situation. We felt like we did something wrong. The hostess didn't handle the situation correctly. At this time and point, I've lost my interest and appetite to go back here. This was some of the best sushi I've had ... We ordered all cut rolls, and they are huge! I'm used to smaller portions of food in Phx, but easily no more than 2 rolls per person at this joint would be more than enough. We left stuffed!! From the simple spicy yellowtail and crunch rolls, to the Dragon, and the baked Volcano and Michelle rolls... It was all so delicious. This place is expensive for just regular sushi. There really isn't anything that stands out. I'm not sure why people love this spot so much, but there are way better places down the street. Maybe people think that they more you pay for sushi, the better it must taste. Its just not that spectacular. $15 for just one roll is crazy to me..especially for just mediocre sushi. I have had sushi in Japan, Hawaii, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas and a host of other spots and this place ROCKS!!! First time here -truly amazing experience. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable sushi chefs. We had the yellowtail and blue fin sashimi, Spicy Tuna roll and Mexican rolls on soy paper instead of nori and Unagi. Everything was fresh and delicious. Very nice dining room and a cute outdoor patio shielded from the parking lot by plexiglass and palm trees. I used to love this place, and my family still does. Their food is great, and the service is exceptional. But what's taken away the two stars for me is more personal. I was recently diagnosed with Celiacs Disease. Typically, sushi/Japanese restaurants are understanding of gluten and I can have a lot of items still. And when I ask for gluten free options, the staff typically have a great knowledge of their gluten free ingredients. However, this place does not have any knowledge at all about gluten, and what menu items and sushi had gluten in it. It was a constant battle of going back and forth with the waitresses and chefs. And when I asked, they didn't have anything specifically for gluten free options. So it was a bit more stressful than I was used to for this establishment. They did have gf soy sauce...but that was it. However if you don't need to be gluten free, then you have no worries and should go :) but if you like me, have Celiacs, I'd reconsider... read more
