Excellent milk tea!! The brown sugar boba is definitely the best on the island. One concern that I will make mention to them next time. Their covers have an entrance that the straw goes into. When the straw goes in the plastic piece dangles. However, the last milk tea I had it must have broken off with me knowing. When I went to finish up the milk tea without the cover I unknowingly took in the plastic piece. This plastic piece got stuck to the top of my throat which mad me gag. I've been wanting to try out this place for a long time. Finally on a rainy evening Friday 01.10.20, my bf and I went over to check out the menu. We LOVE boba as much as the next person so we wanted to go somewhere new and popular! The parking area was a little bit crowded but we were able to find a spot right in front of the entrance. When we got inside, the wait wasn't long at all. Since we haven't been here before we asked the girl a few questions and she was very kind and answered everything for us. We made our decisions and ordered a thai milk tea large with brown sugar boba and a Hong Kong style tea with brown sugar. She made sure to ask us if we wanted to add anything else to our drinks and then we paid. She gave us a number then we sat down and the wait for that wasn't long either! We took a few pics of our drinks and admired the cute decor on the walls. It has a very modern feel and the little quotes on the walls were nice. The chairs had a nice soft finish and the tables were very clean. Right before we left, a line started to form but it went down very quickly and everyone was getting their drinks fairly quick. The staff here are so friendly and awesome ! It's true, the boba is soft and chewy. I don't even normally order boba but this place I would make an exception. It is soaked in brown sugar goodness so the boba also have food sweet flavor without being too overpowering. Their brown sugar milk tea seems most popular but their fruit tea also looks fresh and good too ( did not get to try that). I thought their HK milk tea seems ok ... it's good but it doesn't seem as strong as I normally prefer as I would usually get in HK cafe. Parking in the lot can be confusing if it is full ... Hana Tea has gotten a lot of hype lately so of course... you know the deal... I had to see what it was all about. When my friend and I arrived on a humid Sunday afternoon (around 5:30), we had to wait outside for a bit since the line was so long. We eventually inched our way to the front. If you're wondering why the line moves so slowly, it could be because there are parties of 2 that order 18 milk teas for their friends... like C'MoN guYs. Anyways, I asked the worker what their "creamy cake" topping was and turns out it appears to be some kind of whipped cream/frosting spread on the inside of your cup. As I observed, most people weren't even able to get it all with their straws since it lined the walls of the cup. Not too worth it if you ask me. My drink was pretty tasty, I'll admit. The fact that the matcha latte wasn't too sweet like Taste Tea can sometimes be was nice. My friend's coffee milk tea tasted like regular black milk tea mixed with watered down coffee. All in all, the 30 minute wait just isn't worth it. Hana Tea is not bad but I really don't think it's all that it's "caked" up to be. Get it? Haha... P.S. We finally got around to checking this place out. We really wanted to know, is it really up to all the hype? We were pleasantly satisfied. The line wad pretty long but, it went really quick and as soon as we ordered the drinks came out blazingly fast. We got the brown sugar tea they're known for and a classic milk tea for comparison. I really really enjoy the milk tea and boba here. I think they do an exceptional job at making their teas. Everything tastes amazing. I highly recommend getting just a plain jasmine milk tea with bubbles and less sugar. It's really simple yet good, and it still feels like a lighter drink compared to the very sugary ones they have. Additionally, they have mini boba, which is not commonly served in these types of stores. They are really underrated, and I think they're actually better than the regular sized boba. Finally made it out here after hearing about all the hype. I stupidly decided to come here on a Friday afternoon. The parking is horrible. Ended up street parking. Also- I got lost- which isn't unusual. It's in the same complex as the Brick Oven Pizza in Kalihi. Lots of businesses around Hana Tea are super unfriendly and are parking nazis around their area *eye roll* but I get it. The tea itself was really good. There was a huge line right when we walked in! I guess that's when you know a boba place is good. Seems like this place stays constantly busy because when we left, there was still a long line. We waited for about 15 min in line. After standing in line, we probably waited another 10 min for our drinks. I really liked the passion fruit drink here at 50% sweet.
