OMG!! The most amazing Hong Kong milk tea! The tea is strong and has all the nuttiness I expect in an authentic HkMT. The boba is perfectly sweet and chewy. I opted for 100% sweet and it wasn't super sweet at all. I prolly could've went with extra sweet. We also got the wintermelon mint oolong and my daughter absolutely loved it too. That one was definitely sweeter so go down if you don't want it super sweet. Service is friendly and quick.

Excellent plus. We ordered two Thai teas for the adults and one milk tea for our son! Lovely flavor, excellent "immaculate" boba! Perfect stop before hitting Ala Moana Beach. Excellent customer service, and the shop is so clean and cute! We are very pleased and will be coming back at least 5 more times! FYI 75% is where it's at in regard to sweetness and balance. Thank you Hana Tea, what a gem you are!

My go to for my norm, my brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba. I have to remember to get a medium or small and not the large. For a big back, lol I always get full from the large and end up wasting. I got to try the wife's dragon fruit yogurt and it was actually good. Not bad. Not my cup of tea. Lol I think moreso, I actually enjoyed the lychee jelly lol. But was good not bad. Customer service always great. She was nice and friendly. Every time I walk in feels so clean, like the ambiance, soft music. Great vibes. Cute decor. Tables to sit. Gotta ask for key to go bathroom. Don't forget to tip (optional), your straw, and to take pretty pictures of your drink and decor lol get street parking right out front. Located on halekauwila. Came here right after picking up sabrozon for dinner, since they located on the same street. I got my boba and burrito fix!

It's been a long time since I've had drinks from here. Service was fast and easy. A lot of choices you can order from. I ordered the Triple Matcha that came with matcha pudding and matcha creamy cake, and Classic milk tea with mixed boba and creamy cake, all at 75% less sugar.

Not the same :( Used to be obsessed with Hana Tea before it relocated. I was warned by friends that it's not as good now but I was still excited to try the new location. I got the classic brown sugar boba - it was bland, too milky & boba didn't taste fresh. Very different than the original for sure. Unfortunate. Parking: 20 minutes free in the structure to its right.

Hana Tea was one of the first boba places I tried back when they first opened in their original location several years ago near Dillingham. It was the first milk tea I had with the cheese cap and my life has changed since then and I hold everywhere else to that standard. They moved to the new Kakaako location recently which is very conveniently located. IMO, this place is still one of THE best boba places on island. I've had it at least a dozen times and it is very consistent. The brown sugar milk tea with cheese foam is my regular order and my daughter gets the taro milk tea. We do 75% sweet (we have a sweet tooth so I recommend going less if you aren't) and less ice. Nice seating, free parking for less than an hour stay. Ambiance is super cute and cozy, there's maybe 10-12 tables. Service is quick and attentive, I had my drink within a few minutes.

I was interested to try this new located in the Kaka'ako (the salt area) since the other one closed down. Larger size shop compared to last one that closed. I wanted to see how the brown sugar milk tea Boba drink compared. Note that this is made with non-dairy creamer without having to substitute. The flavor was on point and similar to what I'm used to, but unfortunately I feel like the Boba texture was not on point. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the texture had no balance or chew to it. that makes me to believe it had been sitting. you also have the option to order ahead of time on their website. Definitely recommend you get the stamp card to accumulate drink points. Overall, I will give this another shot, but as far as standard and quality to what I'm used to from, it was not as good as when I remembered it to be.

4.5 stars Came in and tried three drinks -- all worth it! The brown sugar milk tea with boba at 75% less sweet was absolutely the star of the show. Just the right amount of sweetness without the sugar rush. Highly recommend customizing your sweetness level here! The tea and coffee milk tea with crystal boba hit that perfect Hong Kong café nostalgia, and the crystal boba was a fun twist. Also grabbed the peach green tea with boba -- light, fruity, and super refreshing. Boba is $0.75 extra on any drink, which is fair. The shop is clean, bright, and smells amazing -- that fresh tea aroma the moment you walk in just sets the whole mood. Will definitely be back! Note: meter parking

When I got to Hana Tea there was a couple & 1 mom with her kids before me but the employees were quickly able to get their orders so I wasn't waiting in line long and it didn't take them long to finish my order either so that was great! My drink wasn't my absolute favorite but definitely not the worst I've ever had either and I honestly wouldn't mind coming back again if this was the closest boba shop to me because I liked the combination of the brown sugar boba with the brown sugar milk tea. Also helps that if you do park in the building they're a part of you do have at least 20 minutes of free parking!

Best boba in town! I've been going to Hana tea for years now and I absolutely love their brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba! This is my go to stop for any boba cravings! They used to be located in the dillingham area but they moved to the kakaako area which I think works out better! Cute little cafe with a few tables and counter seating for small groups. They have a fairly large menu of fruit teas and milk teas with various toppings. You can choose sweetness level and Ice level as well! The line generally moves pretty fast unless a customer has questions about a drink. There is garage parking available or street parking in the area. Grace period is either 20 or 30min (there is a sign on the Hana tea door) if not they validate as well.

Finally made it out here after hearing about all the hype. I stupidly decided to come here on a Friday afternoon. The parking is horrible. Ended up street parking. Also- I got lost- which isn't unusual. It's in the same complex as the Brick Oven Pizza in Kalihi. Lots of businesses around Hana Tea are super unfriendly and are parking nazis around their area *eye roll* but I get it. The tea itself was really good. I ordered the coffee milk tea and brown sugar milk tea. Both were good. To me, milk tea is milk tea and I wasn't "mind-blowned"by it, but it was still good :) read more

The location is easy to find although parking can be hard to find especially since HCC is so nearby. We went in the mid morning and luckily there were 2 open stalls. The inside is very spacious with a good amount of seating and very clean. The workers were friendly and answered questions helpfully. I didn't care for the tea but my boyfriend loved his drink. I thought the cheese foam tasted interesting, not good but not bad either. It definitely made the milk tea a lot thicker and heavy. I loved their fruit party green tea. The fruits weren't over ripe and their tea tasted freshly brewed. Overall, I'd go here again. read more

There was a huge line right when we walked in! I guess that's when you know a boba place is good. Seems like this place stays constantly busy because when we left, there was still a long line. We waited for about 15 min in line. After standing in line, we probably waited another 10 min for our drinks. I really liked the passion fruit drink here at 50% sweet. I would say this spot compares to the boba places in the 626. They had cake as one of the topping options, which I found interesting because I've never seen that as a topping back home. DON'T FORGET TO CHECK IN FOR 10% off! Parking: Very limited right in front of the store. I don't even like boba all that much, but Hana tea has converted me. Now I'm on a hunt for boba places that compare to Hana. Tried a brown sugar milk tea, with brown sugar boba, creamy cake, less ice and 25% sweetness. Super good! Boyfriend tried a watermelon smoothie with grass jelly, but was not as impressed. He also tried a Thai tea with cheesy foam at 50% sweetness, but did not really enjoy it either. Still rate this place 5 stars because service is bomb and although there is a wait, I think it's well worth it. In addition, they also have a stamp card for rewards! read more

Tried this place from a close friend's recommendation. I'm from Hawaii, but now reside in Seattle where bubble tea is pretty popular. It had been a while since I've last tried good bubble tea in Hawaii, so I decided to give this place a try since it has, so far, received positive reviews. You order similarly as you would at a ShareTea. You can adjust sweetness, amount of boba, and ice level. You can also add toppings/cremas - they have a unique one called creamy cake and OMFG. Seattle, I'm sorry, but you need to step it up now! I got coffee milk tea with creamy cake. That was delicious. BUT I will say the brown sugar milk tea with creamy cake was the winner. I wish they had a Hana Tea in Seattle, but then it wouldn't make visiting home really worth it with all of the unique food/drink joints. Will def make a stop here each time I visit home! read more

Still my favorite boba place on Oahu! During COVID-19, they only allow you to order from the phone or online on their website. You can either order in advance or when you are parked outside. I recommend to order in advance. They will text you when it's ready for you to walk up to the door and grab your order. My Top 3 drinks didn't change but I have been drinking Brown Sugar Boba with cheese foam and 100% sweetness a lot lately compared to the other two. read more

Came here for the first time yesterday. It was really crowded. All the tables were filled with people waiting for their order and when we came in there were probably 12 ppl in front of us and the line was continuing to grow behind us. We got the brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba and brown sugar milk tea with the creme brûlée cheese foam. They were good. Creamy. And satisfying but I don't understand what all the hype is about. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here to get a milk tea when there's equal or slightly better places in town. But now if I were in the area, I may however stop by to get something. Depending on the line. After tasting it I don't think I'd wait again for it. Lol. read more

After many failed attempts of coming here (mostly because I would be in a rush and the lines would be out the door whenever I came) I have finally tried this place out! It's pretty good. I'd say one of the top boba places on this island. Ample seating and minimalistic decor. Workers are aight. Most importantly tho the drinks were good. My new favorite milk tea spot (sorry Teapresso!) I've tried all the milk teas except Thai. Faves are Hong Kong, Jasmine and Oolong. Always get creamy cake- almost like whipped cream but better! Prices are right, flavors amazing. Their boba is also good and I'm picky about boba. Choices of sweetness and ice level. Everything just tastes legit fresh, staff is pleasant and they are efficient. Great atmosphere with nice decor, AC and music blasting and plenty seats. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the line is ridiculous due to the popularity. If you are short on time probably not the place to come. It's taken 40 mins for us to place our order and get our drinks a couple times. Haven't tried calling in my order via phone tho. read more

It's super good. It gets so busy, the wait is long but it's very understandable due to high demand of customers coming in. Their Mocha Frap is SUPER GOOD and their famous brown sugar milk tea is good with the creme brûlée cheese foam. I highly recommend going, but don't go during rush hour if you don't have the patients to wait 15 mins or longer then try to see if you go earlier or a time you know people won't be there as much. read more

My best friend took me here after lunch a week and half ago. I told her I had never been to this place before and to just order me whatever she thought was good... wasn't really in the mood for a boba tea at that moment.... but BOOOOYYYYYY I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL!! She ordered me a brown sugar milk tea with mini boba and creamy cake topping! That SH!T is tops!!!! Let's just say I went back for more MULTIPLE TIMES in just under 2 weeks. I've tried only 3 other drinks.... I've tried the Thai milk tea, fruit party sparkling water, and the matcha latte! All VERY GOOD but the Brow sugar milk tea is BEST!! One of the best milk tea places, love going there. It has a good variety of milk teas. Be prepared to stand in a queue and wait for your turn, because it's one of the best places it's crowded. After a little wait you can easily get a table. read more

I came to Hana Tea to get the trending brown sugar milk tea and it definitely did not disappoint. They even have brown sugar boba (an extra charge)! They also have a creamy cake topping that they layer on the sides of your cup, which was a unique spin to your traditional boba drink. Definitely get less sugar if you try this combo. Will be back! read more

It's a nice quaint boba tea house off in town. Service is pretty good overall, the real challenge is figuring out when is best to visit here. This place gets packed but it's actually worth it. My rating of 4 stars were based on the first two visits in hopes that they can eventually find a bigger location with more parking. Love the brown sugar boba! read more

By far one of the best boba tea places I have seen ever - that includes Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong. Very good tea that is flavorful and the brown sugar boba was just right - not too chewy not too hard and the perfect amount of sweet. This place is new and busy ! I recommend not to come on the weekends the weekends is hella busy and wait is pretty Long . Also when it's busy and full of people it's pretty hot in there which is not a good time! Located in Dillingham area which has a lot of parking! I told myself I wasn't going to come here again BUT their brown sugar milk tea with crime brûlée completely changed my mind. Their drink is a MUST TRY! Yes I understand, it's Waikiki, everything is more expensive, but the added topping prices on top of the already expensive bowl prices just don't make sense. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I don't know if I've just been spoiled by a couple places in SoCal, but at those places they have unlimited toppings and those bowls are the best that there is. I'm not bringing any bias from other locations, but this is just an honest review based on my experience today.

Everything was packaged so thoughtfully. The Apple Pecan Salad was beautiful, incredibly fresh and substantial, with the ingredients carefully separated so it would keep. It wasn't some obligatory pile of greens tossed into a container. You could actually see the care that went into making it. The Smoked Salmon and Bacon sandwich was equally good. Fresh, generously filled and absolutely delicious. I ate half the sandwich and some of the salad and was completely satisfied. Hana Tea is now back in town! We recently visited the new location and got a few of their drinks, including the strawberry milk, oolong milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea. All the drinks were good, but my favorite was definitely the brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba and cheese foam. The brown sugar milk tea had a perfect balance of sweetness from the brown sugar and creaminess from the milk. The brown sugar boba was soft and chewy, adding just the right amount of texture to each sip. What really elevated the drink was the cheese foam. It added a savory creamy layer that balanced the sweetness beautifully. The best part came when I finished most of the drink, and the remaining cheese foam coated the leftover boba, creating a rich, flavorful treat. It was almost like dessert at the bottom of the cup! The other drinks we tried (strawberry milk and oolong milk tea) were also enjoyable, but the brown sugar milk tea with cheese foam was the real star. If you're a fan of rich, sweet drinks with an extra layer of texture and flavor, I highly recommend trying it. I would like to claim myself to be a boba connoisseur, being that I've had boba for over 10 years of my life. So when I tell you Hana tea is bomb, I'm telling you THIS PLACE IS BOMB SIS! I love getting their brown sugar milk tea with creamy cake. I have no idea what this creamy cake is exactly but I suspect there's drugs involved because it's addicting. I literally come here at least 2X a week and I cant stop, it's hard to resist. The place is also very hip and modern, perfect place to meet up with friends and chat, or even study. It gets really busy at night, so if you're here to study, bring some earphones/headphones because it can get noisy. The staff are also super friendly and attentive, and even bring your drinks to you. There's also free WiFi, and good music playing here. All of my friends that I have brought here have been ADDICTED and go at least once a week. I stopped by yesterday and tried the lychee black tea with lychee jelly, and it was delicious. It was light, refreshing, and the perfect drink after a workout. The shop was clean and inviting, with a few tables available if you want to sit, relax, or study with friends. The employee working was friendly and helped me decide what to order by offering some helpful recommendations, which I appreciated. This is my second time coming to this boba shop and it's been great both times! Be prepared to wait due to popular demand but worth the slight wait. The shop was decorated for Halloween . If not tapioca boba then amber boba. Etc etc. Ironically this time I couldn't decide on the which combo so I YOLO'd and ordered a Hong Kong milk tea with grass jelly. I didn't drink it right away coz I was full from a late snack from a Yelp event. After several hours (overnight, in fact) in the fridge I was pleasantly surprised to discover the tea didn't taste watered down despite the melted ice. It did have a tiny bit of over steeped aftertaste, but I'm not sure if maybe it's the bitterness from the grass jelly. I'd order the Hong Kong milk tea again but not with grass jelly. The cafe was empty at around 5pm. Service was friendly and efficient. There are now so many claw machines! Even though it's been years, I am still impressed/amused/entertained by the moon mural and giant clothespin and dice seats.

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed them previously. Conveniently located in Old Stadium Square, Lunar Tea offers high quality tea drinks with lots of topping options. My personal favorite is the Strawberry Rice Yogurt with brown sugar boba. Yummm! The base of the drink is creamy and the rice and blended fruit add a ton of texture. I enjoy that the flavor of the drink tastes natural (enhanced by the fresh blended fruit) and not at all artificial. The Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the Matcha Latte are also in the rotation quite often. I usually supplement with either brown sugar boba or grass jelly depending on how I am feeling that day. I don't have much more to add. The drinks are always on point!

As previous reviewers have mentioned, their boba is too chewy (boba should have chew but not this much) and has no flavor of its own either (it isn't honeyed or sweetened), so our drinks really were just milk, and cheap SunHearth milk at that. Since one of us getting over a cold, couldn't even drink since avoiding dairy.
