The Mackerel was well marinated and not too sour but also a nice fatty flavor. The white tuna, has an extremely subtle flavor but all the Sashimi did not have a fish taste, which is all that I ask for. The grilled shrimp was well seasoned. The oyster is hard to determine. Friday Night Dinner with the Fam to KickOff Our Spring Break Adventures!!! This was a good choice. There are many items to choose from on the all-you-can -eat menu. Everything was fresh and tasty. The presentation was excellent, as well. My fav is the Carpaccio and The baked mussels. Yum! After I tapped out, they brought a beautiful tray of oysters for another table that looked amazing. I would try that next time. We also had the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Miso soup, Seaweed Salad, and the Gyoza. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. All the staff work as a team to make sure everyone is happy and getting everything they need. They all help to clear plates and bring new dishes to the table. They have a decent array of drinks and Sakis. The seating has a good size area with booths and tables. They have room to move tables to accommodate for larger parties, which is a bonus. There are tv screens up on the walls with different shows and videos playing. They also have music playing which was nice. It's a fun & casual vibe. They just recently changed ownership and names so that's probably why we got in so quickly on a Friday night. They are making changes to the menu and so there will be more updates coming soon. The parking is right outside and it's a big shared lot so it was easy. The building and windows are dark but at night they have a new neon sign that says" Brave Sushi-all you can eat. Hana Tokyo is. Ow called Brave Sushi. It is now a sushi place and does not have Teppenyaki tables. There are two prices a rolls price which is $29.99 for sushi and rolls and $39.99 for sashimi. There are different prices for dinner. They do have some grill items, rice, noodles and desserts. They had a lot of people working initially food was coming out really fast. Some of the rolls were really packed with rice like the rockstar the filling was 80% rice. The miso soup had a lot of flavor. The fries wontons were garlicky but tasty. The beef had a really good flavor and when eaten hot was very tender. The chicken also had a good flavor. The service was good. They did get busy and food was a little slower but still came out regular. We did have green tea ice cream to finish off our meal. As we when I walked in nobody took the time to acknowledge us or sit us. We had to call a server girl over who stared at us a few times before deciding to come and say "for 2?" For dinner, I made reservations for the teppanyaki grill and were not dissapointed. Our chef, James Royce, was not only very entertaining but cooked all the food to perfection! His unique way of cooking the rice turned out great! The all you can eat does not apply to the teppan grill. The only reason I didn't give Hana Tokyo All You Can Eat 5-stars was because the mens restroom had a very unpleasant odor thet may require a plumber to evaluate. My husband and I have been here a handful of times and last night he was very disappointed. One of his favorites sides was the fried scallops. They used to come as actual scallops, and now (May 2025)? Complete mush!! We honestly didn't even know what the heck it was, seemed more like a mozzarella stick and it was absolutely horrid. The waitress told us she didn't know what it was either when it arrived at our table, and apparently the staff has complained to the manger that they're cutting corners to be cheap. This place has two options: All You Can Eat (kitchen & sushi items) or Teppanyaki (All Meals come with soup, salad, fried rice, and vegetables). We opted for the Teppanyaki side. We had 5 of us and we sat in the middle of the Teppanyaki, it was warm especially with all the flames going up all over the place. The service was good when you get their attention. The food itself is actually really good as well as the staff are great. However I have to make a concerning remark about an item on the menu. We ordered fried scallops (we have ordered them before and they are extremely good) however, we received the scallops this time and it turned out there was cheese stuffed into them. This is unacceptable as 2 people at our table have a dairy allergy with one of them being extremely allergic to dairy (hospitalization level allergy). We were not informed at all that the recipe was changed. The server even told us that they now change the recipe if they run out of the original recipe yet no one was notified of this. I will say we do plan to return as the rest of the food and service is good. That is just a major concern and is the reason for 2/5 stars this time. I used to work at a restaurant and it was a requirement for us to greet customers within 7 seconds. We stood there for an extremely long time before someone greeted us. From when we enter to when we ordered our food it took 45 minutes. There was not a wait time mentioned, there were even tables available too. Then once the food came we could not even eat due to not having any utensils at all. There were some food we didn't even get and I had to ask for it again informing that we've never got it. Our total time there was 2h and 10 minutes only because we were waiting for so long most of the time. Honestly to food was good and kudos to all the chefs but it wasn't that good to make up for the lack of service. I really tried coming here with an open mind and ignoring the negative comment. I hate to write this review, but here we go. Three of us came in for sushi and ran into a frustrating issue. We all wanted something different: I wanted the all-you-can-eat sushi, my lady only wanted two à la carte rolls because she wasn't very hungry, and my brother who's allergic to rice, wanted all-you-can-eat sashimi. Unfortunately, that wasn't allowed. We were told that everyone at the table had to order the exact same thing or no one could eat. It felt like they were more focused on preventing people from sharing food than actually providing good service or making money. We asked to speak with the manager, who came out and confirmed the policy. He wasn't willing to make any exceptions, and to be honest, he wasn't kind about it either. i got the all you can eat sushi and the sushi isn't the best i've ever had, the fried sushi was easier to eat then the normal one, the rice was a little weird and it seemed like they put barley any fish in the actual roll. the appetizers were alright, edamame didn't seem top tier kinda dry or old and the miso soup was mid but the fried chicken was nice but all of the portions are super small. service was nice and kinda slow but gives you time to eat each your food i guess, the atmosphere was chill not much to it. i probably wouldn't go here for sushi again but wouldn't say it was a bad experience read more

Food: 4 stars. I only ordered a roll, but the three other people in my party that were ordering meals all ordered Teppanyaki. Everyone agreed that the food was generally good. Nathan was kind and talkative while prepping our meal. We enjoyed getting to talk with him. We initially ordered garlic edamame and calamari.The garlic edamame has a bit of a pepper kick to it so if you don't like some spice, you may want to order plain. Calamari was 3/5. Nothing to write home about. The Teppan room is VERY warm. (Hot) All four of us mentioned among our talk that it was pretty uncomfortable in that room. We would probably sit on the other side of the restaurant if we were to dine there again. Our waitress could have used some improvement. While she was polite, We had to ask for someone to get her at one point. She never showed up so after about 5 additional minutes, I excused myself from the table and had to go locate her as all of our drinks had been empty for a while. She did one refill and we didn't see her again until she brought the check to our table. The bill: our party consisted of four adults and an infant. The four adults ordered, The baby did not, nor did he eat the food. We got the bill, checked it over and there was an automatic gratuity already added. They proceeded to tell us that parties of 5 or more have it added. While we technically had 5 bodies, we had four adults ordering/dining that could actually eat their food. I didn't raise a concern with them, it was only a little less than what I would have left in tip anyway. It was just sort of tacky to add it in for a baby. Also, for the all you can eat sushi, make sure you read the rules about that. Overall It was an average visit, but seriously the Teppan room is very hot! If you like sashimi, it is not the place for you. Even though, it said ayce, each person is only allowed one sashimi order. This was disappointing since O only really eat sashimi. The rolls were all right. The kitchen food was also decent. However, the service was a little lacking. Our server was really nice but food kept getting mixed and he couldn't remember who ordered what. This place has the worst service and then has the audacity to auto tip and give themselves 18% when we had to ask for our server to be sent over for various things. We spent $147 total for really mediocre service at best. She never checked in on us and there were multiple errors made on the staff side that has me completely turned off. For example, my husband never got the other roll he ordered in the beginning. It took our waitress 30 minutes to even stop by to take our second orders. When we told her we just wanted to pay for his ala carte and the rest of us will continue with our all you can eat she then told us the rules that everyone at the table has to pay all you can eat prices. Not a problem, but should have been communicated at the very beginning and frustrating that it took so long for him to even be able to address never getting his second roll. Additionally, she said the Coke is "out" so she offered sprite and Dr Pepper, but didn't communicate the entire machine was out and our sodas came in cans. Which results in no refills, of course. The communication was the worst part of the experience and then a close second was the terrible service. So bad that it would have been a 15% tip at most. To top it all off I used the bathroom and one of the toilet back lid is off on the toilet seat and the others look like someone went to war with the seat cover dispenser and TP. There was stuff all over the floors and it was just gross. Clearly not an area that is addressed often enough by staff. 2 stars because the actual sushi was good. I've told everyone I know to go here , brought many friends and my brother and I ate here every other week since they took over from Hanna Tokyo. The new owner is making many physical changes converting the old Teppan grill to the new format. Unfortunately continuous changes to the menus quality and recipes and service standards aren't an improvement. 2 weeks ago had a small group in and settled up the bill with separate checks. The new waitress mistakenly hit " cash " instead of credit and spent a quite a bit of time with a manager or owner until she said it couldn't be changed. She said the owner would just take it out of her tips that night. I gave her $40 cash for that dinner , paid my bill and we left. Monday my brother and I came in at 4:30 pm for Happy Hour sushi and roll all you can eat. Priced $24.99 3-5 and 8-10 pm. They also have a sashimi added option at $34.99. Regular prices are $5 more. Every time we've eaten here over the month they offer one order of sashimi on the sushi and roll and recently started a choice of sashimi or carpaccio. This time we chose salmon sashimi with the sushi and roll. Bill came and they charged $39.99 each and the waitress without explaining when we ordered the sashimi that the one order was no longer offered on sushi and roll said the owner or manager converted it to the higher price $39.99 with no discount for the happy price down to $34.99. Having been a chef and restaurant owner myself in the past I was rooting for this place and the new owner. Not anymore. Looking for a new sushi bar.
