We were nearby attending a Yelp Elite event and stopped at another restaurant for a late lunch because we were hungry. Hubby didn't care for it much and decided we needed to stop a few doors down to grab some Ramen. As we walked in we were greeted by smiling staff and there was a surprising number of diners given the late "lunch" hour. I ordered a couple of nibblers (aka appetizers) as I was not all that hungry after our "1st lunch". Hubby ordered two ramen bowls because he couldn't decide which he wanted more and he wanted to take leftovers home for lunch the next day at work. The chicken Karaage was a bit too salty for my taste, although if you are it with the raw cabbage it was served on it was better. I was not a fan of the mayonnaise dipping "sauce" it was served with. It was just straight mayo. The gyoza dumplings were typical - not amazing but not bad either. The ramen bowls had a nice amount of 'accessories' but the broth did not have the rich umami flavor we expect of ramen. It kind of fell flat for us. Hubby said both bowls were better the following days when he had them for lunch at work. He did add more flavor to them by way of sriracha sauce, though. He said he enjoyed the noodles more the following days, too. He felt they were a little too al dente when eating at the restaurant - I disagreed with that; I thought the noddles were pretty good when initially served.
My wife and I love Hanabi! The service is always great. It's a cozy little spot. We really enjoy the food here! I get the Kara miso every time and we always split some gyoza. They serve canned soda but they do allow you a refill of one can which I appreciate.
Well, I was driving home from work and was jonesing for ramen and thought about Hanabi at Old Denton Road(Carrollton). When I got there(Sunday evening), it was a zoo!! I had to drive circles 4 times every which way to find myself a place to park! Next time, I would come here during the week after lunch to avoid this parking shenanigans. So, I've eaten at Hanabi many years ago and it was packed at 6pm. I sat down at the counter. I ordered hot green tea(powder), spicy Tonkotsu, fried gyoza and side of rice. I'm Japanese and this is how I enjoy my ramen with gyoza and rice. It'd been nice if Gyoza wasn't deep fried, but it was ok! I added soft shell shrimp and extra soft boiled egg and no chashu(I don't like them). They were kind of stingy on noodles, so I asked for kaedama(extra noodles)and the lady had no idea what I was talking about, so she brought me the menu and pointed at extra noodles. The broth was tasty too. I had fried rice to go and I ate it the next day and it was delicious. I think I will come here more often during the week after lunch and not on weekends.
This place had great food and the service was amazing. I will be coming here again. It's king of hidden, you definitely have to give it a try.
I like the interior design/ambiance, reminds me of the traditional ramen restaurant in Japan. Food is decent here, we ordered the spicy Tokyo ramen and hanabi tsukemen - Both are delicious! We also ordered gyoza, it's very crispy and the filling is full of flavour. Quick service with a massive parking lot in front of the restaurant - although it's full when we were there. Worth to try it out if you are in the area!
Amazing ambience and food. Also, the service is incredible. I got tan tan mei, which is the perfect amount of spicy and savory. My family got chicken ramen which they loved. We will definitely come back.
Hanabi Ramen Carrollton: A Nostalgic Return with Mixed Results Hanabi Ramen was once a staple for us when we lived in Plano--consistent, flavorful, and always satisfying. So when we had the rare opportunity for a kid-free night, we were excited to revisit one of our favorite spots. However, parking quickly became an issue. The lot, which has two sections (front and back), was completely full when we arrived. After circling for 15 minutes--feeling like we were driving through a Christmas lights tour--we decided to check out other ramen options nearby. Unfortunately, parking was scarce everywhere, leading us to a detour at CM Chicken. After finishing that meal, we decided to take one last chance at Hanabi, and luckily, we found a spot in the back section. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend heading straight to the back lot for parking. Walking into Hanabi, the nostalgia hit immediately. The warm, inviting atmosphere, the light brown wood finish, the neatly arranged booths and tables--it all felt familiar. The seating options cater to both couples and larger groups, while the bar-style section near the front offers a closer view of the chefs at work. Service was impeccable, as always. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring our drinks and take our order. For my meal, I went with two favorites: Chicken Curry Don and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. My wife ordered Shrimp Tempura over rice. Chicken Curry Don: 10/10, Absolutely Phenomenal This dish has been my go-to for years, and it did not disappoint. If I could describe it in one sentence, I'd say the curry sauce alone is worth the visit. The rich, deep brown gravy carries layers of umami, warmth, and spice, reminiscent of a perfectly seasoned Thanksgiving giblet gravy but with an Asian twist. It has a thick, velvety consistency, soaking beautifully into the bed of soft, sticky rice. The dish is topped with a tangy, pickled pink vegetable (possibly radish or onion), which adds the perfect contrast to the rich, savory sauce. Even though I was already somewhat full from our earlier meal, I cleaned my bowl completely. This remains, in my opinion, the best dish on their menu. Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen: 7.5/10, Good But Slightly Off The presentation was spot-on--the deep red broth, the glossy oil rising to the surface, the tender pork slices, the perfectly soft-boiled egg. Everything about it looked beautiful. The ramen itself featured slightly wavy noodles, which I enjoy, and the pork melted in my mouth. However, as I ate, I noticed something I hadn't before: a bitterness in the broth that lingered after each bite. In past visits, I had always been starving when eating this dish, so maybe I never picked up on it before. But this time, being less hungry, it became more noticeable. The bitterness slightly masked the depth of flavor I was expecting, making each bite feel like I had to eat more just to balance it out. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't as enjoyable as I remembered. Next time, I may try a different ramen option to see if I can find one that hits the mark better. Shrimp Tempura: Simple but Solid My wife's shrimp tempura was lightly battered, crispy, and golden brown, served over a bed of white rice. It was a clean, well-executed dish. She ended up adding some of my ramen broth to her rice for extra flavor, which worked well. Final Thoughts Hanabi Ramen still holds up as a fantastic spot with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and a cozy ambiance. Their Chicken Curry Don remains a must-try. While the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen wasn't quite what I remembered, the overall experience was still enjoyable. We'll be back, and next time, I'll explore other ramen options to see if I can recapture the magic. If you're planning a visit, park in the back lot and prepare for a warm, comforting meal--especially on a cold night.
This shopping center has a lot of delicious choices for dining, but this one, Hanabi Ramen, came highly recommended from employees at Royce who have had an opportunity to try all. They put this place at the top of their top choices. I wanted to eat at the shop because it looks like a groovy little Asian diner with wood booths, a community table for groups or singles, and partner tables for couples. However, I had to leave, so I took my order to go. There was a special waiting area with a view to the busy parking lot, but it was nice to soak up the sun through the tinted window during this cold November day. My order was ready within 10 minutes and I was out the door. Once home, I was happy to see that the peanut sauce was securely in place in a tall plastic container. The ramen with eggs, bok choy, and meat chunks were in a separate soup like bowl also held securely in place with a lid. Flatware, chopsticks and a thick quality napkin were included so I could dive into my meal right away. I chose the Tan Tan Men which included a spicy peanut sauce. I ordered extra noodles and they did not disappoint. The noodles were super long. I had difficulty pulling out a bite full with my chopsticks because they were clumped so tightly together. This might not have been an issue if I hadn't ordered extra noodles or if I ate in house. I probably should have reheated the noodles and broth so the items would have had time to soften and loosen. However, I was hungry and the food was too good to wait. I wish there had been a little more bok choy to balance out the meat and noodles, but the flavor was lip-smacking good. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again; although, I might try a different dish. There is a picture menu posted outside of the shop as you enter the restaurant. This gave me a chance to see what was offered along with a description of ingredients in each dish and the prices. I love that they do this so you can (1) make a decision about whether you want to enter the restaurant and (2) make your decision in advance without tying up an employee waiting for you to order.
I love a really good ramen and I've had a bunch of good ones especially traveling to Japan. But this ramen I had at Hanabi is in my top 5. We went here with my husband and I got the Black Tonkotsu ramen, it a stock with black garlic oil and it has the most balanced seasoning of saltiness and garlic oil. That first slurp of that soup just explodes in my mouth. My husband always gets the spicy ramen and he loved it as well. We also ordered the fried gyoza with a non-spicy dip with chili oil. Service was also tops, it was quick and efficient and they were all nice. Ambience is cozy. They have booths and tables for big and small groups. It's quite a drive for us to Carrollton but we will definitely be back.
so I went here so many times in high school when it first opened and thought it fell off, but recently went again with my boyfriend and ???? its actually rlly good ??? we got tan tan men, miso ramen, and karikara chicken, all super good (esp chicken) apparently they got brand new kitchen staff so maybe thats why but would def come back, such a throwback (sorry we demolished everythjng before taking pics, phone did not eat first)
The place is a gem, I am judging the broth by its looks and it didn't pass at all but when we tried it - it was one of the few tastiest ramen we had. The chicken karage with their sauce is somehow overwhelming for those that's not used to with asian spices - it taste more like a korean. The beef bowl was really amazing especially their rice is high quality from what it taste like. The place only have indoor seating. When you enter their place you will be greeted immediately and feel the Japan vibes. It was a really cool interior. Service was okay, nothing really fancy. Overall it was a good experience!
We got the black tonkotsu, spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu ramen. The flavor was outstanding for the black tonkotsu. Very deep, full flavor broth. The ramen noodles were very tender. The chashu was good, but a little dry and not as tender as I've had with other ramen restaurants that had higher quality chashu. Although the broth was tasty, the temperature of the broth was not hot enough. The presentation was also ok. The egg was cooked nicely, but looked like it was beaten up a bit as it was being cut open. The spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu was tasty as well. Service was good. Good amount of seating.. Although there is a lot of parking, it's a very busy plaza..

Came here around 5:30PM on a weekday for a dinner. The atmosphere here is good, first of all; they have a lot of spacing here which is something that I don't usually see at Japanese ramen places. It was mostly empty (early dinner) but that's all good :) Went with the Seafood Ramen ($12) Squid, octopus, Japanese littleneck, shrimp, cabbage, carrot, fresh oyster, bean sprout and black dried mushroom made with tonkotsu broth. They had a good amount of seafood in here. The cabbage that they had here was eh and didn't really mesh well with the dish. It felt a bit out of place for me. The shrimp was mini shrimp but there was a good amount. The ramen noodles were soft, cooked well, and had substance to them (yay) but the broth wasn't that good. There wasn't much flavor to it at all for me. They also had some aged gyoza that was deep fried that I personally liked. It was deep fried but didn't feel dense at all - good flavor inside. Service was attentive and the food did come out quickly. Maybe for more flavor next time I'll just add a lot of spicy or chili sauce haha. read more

Today was the best day to come here it was raining and humid and I wanted something delicious. I decided on the curry ramen and the flavor was so on point. There was a nice kick without being overpowering. My friends and I agreed that our bowls of ramen were addicting and plan on going back more often. Tl;dr:Super yummy ramen with a nice vibe inside. Brought my son here today for his birthday, he loves ramen. He had the spicy miso (I think on the menu it's Kari Miso). He loved it and thought it was one of the bests. I had the Gyu bowl and gyoza. Like other reviews mentioned, appetizers come out after ramen. The spicy chicken we ordered cane out after my son was already halfway through his ramen- we just took the chicken to go. In reality I should have just sent it back cuz it took so long and he prob won't eat it at home. Our bill was $30 for those 4 things. For a Sunday afternoon it wasn't too packed. read more

The ramen was the best part of this meal and while good it wasn't great. The Gyoza was good as well but not the best I have ever had. The two rice dishes were just ok. They had some flavor but I could've done without them. The rice sandwich I was looking forward to but maybe I should've had the beef because the chicken was not good all. It just wasn't fried well. I might come back to this place to try different things but it's not high on my list. read more
This place is pretty good. I came here with a friend on a Wednesday night. It was slightly busy, but we got seated and got our food fast. The ambiance is pretty cool. I love the set up of the restaurant. It's a pretty chilled place to have a casual dinner. We ordered the Tako Yaki to share. This was my second time having it. It's very good. I like it. I ordered the Karami Tonkotsu Ramen (really just the spicy version of the Tonkotsu Ramen). I really liked it! I think it's really good. It was perfect. There wasn't piles of veggies in the ramen, so I enjoyed it I think this place was good. I'd go back since my favorite place Wabi House is quite a drive from this area. I think this ramen joint is just A-OK. Hubby and I stopped by here for dinner with some friends ... got seated right away on a Sunday evening. I ordered the dipping ramen and my husband got the bison miso ramen? We both agreed that we left the place not feeling really satisfied at all. The bowl of ramen comes with two thin slice of pork and an egg. I mean ... the ramen is okay . It wasn't bland at all ... but it wasn't like Good Good. The service was good . No complaints there. I'm probably comparing this place with the ramen that I just had at Oni Ramen and that's why I feel like this place was just okay. read more

Ordered takeout because of COVID, and got my food packaged into two separate containers for the ramen and the soup. Credit where credit is due, and props to them for that detail (have had way too many soggy noodles in the past). The food: I ordered the tonkatsu and the noodles were stellar. Seriously -- the consistency and texture of these noodles were mad good, and I felt like I could've been in Japan. I also got the classic golden, slightly runny egg that I love in my ramen. The downside was that the soup was slightly salty and the pork was stringy and tough. Am honestly most disappointed in the pork (tbh am still thinking about it now) The service: Hard to say, but again props to whoever packaged my food So...would I come back? Maybe. I've heard that the food is quite good in person, so I might give this ramen joint a shot later on. If you do go, look for a ramen dish that has an egg but skips the pork -- you can thank me later. read more

Maybe we should've gotten the ramen, but I wasn't impressed. The shrimp shumai was had a flour pocket in it, the fried rice wasn't fantastic, our spoons came out dirty, and the edmame wasn't fully heated. I liked the Karikara chicken, but with no fork and knife, it was very hard to eat. Maybe would come back to try ramen, but not likely read more

Yes finally we found a place when we are craving for a Ramen. Our first time here and we love the food. They got different choices for ramen. They also got rice dishes to try I tried the braised pork belly on a bowl of rice. Pork belly is seasoned perfectly. Sauce is a little salty, maybe a little sweet than salty would be better but the good taste of pork belly had me forget that. My husband ordered a seafood with veggie ramen. It's pretty flavorful and worth to try. He added an egg and it was heaven to him. Well a dish with egg is his life ;) We will surely go back to try more in the menu. Alas we have a place to go with some friends who just love eating ramen. It's worth a try ;) read more

Ramen was okay. The flavor wasn't there. The spice wasnt too spicy so i did asked for extra spicy paste to added on but the flavor and spicy still meh. Service wasn't attentive. i wouldn't blame them. They were low on staff. But overall, i will definitely come back to give it another try. read more

First time visiting Hanabi Ramen after craving ramen for a while. We were greeted immediately and ushered to a table. I was thrilled to see they offered Karin Light in a bottle so I ordered this quickly while my husband opted for a Diet Coke. They both arrived quickly, surprised to see the soda in the can, which we were charged $2.50 for it! They have three types of vegetarian ramen. My husband opted for the vegetable while I chose the seafood with veg broth, with the shrimp shumai as a starter. The food arrived in a flash and was steaming hot. The shumai (dumplings) were filled with onion and shrimp. Four small dumplings for almost $7. They were good but not that good. The ramen for the both of us lacked dimension. It seriously tasted like water with vegetables and noodles, no spices. Extremely bland, so I added soy sauce and hot sauce. Still was boring. Service was good, food was hot, but the flavor was truly boring. It is difficult finding vegetarian ramen around town, but I will keep searching. Sadly, skip this place if you are vegetarian. Unless you like bland soup. :( read more

My favorite ramen place, with the best fried squid legs ($7.5)! I really like their new half/half bowl ($13) that lets indecisive people like me pick 2 different ramens. Came at 3pm on a Sat and had to wait a few min for a table, which is not bad considering how packed the whole plaza is. Our server was very attentive, and we got our food quickly which is what you want when you accidentally don't eat lunch until 3pm and now you're hangry. Love this place and can't wait to be back. read more

I always order the tonkotsu ramen whenever I go to ramen shops because I love the creamy flavor of the broth. This place always satisfies my craving and they even have a black tonkotsu ramen option, which just means that they add black garlic oil. It gives this bowl of heaven just a little more oomph and unless you're a garlic hater, this is probably the best thing to ever happen to tonkotsu broth. The noodles are very chewy and taste fresh - make sure to eat it with the broth because I cannot emphasize enough how good it is. They also have a fun menu of appetizers and I'll usually get an order of their fried oysters because they're just large pieces. The breading is light so the oyster flavor is highlighted and not masked by oil/grease. read more

I had high hopes when I saw the menu, but the food was not as promising. Portions were big, so that's a plus. I got the baisen miso ramen: Broth was good- not too salty like the rest of texas ramen, good flavoring, can taste the garlic Noodles- they use the thicker yellow traditional japanese ramen that i like, however was a bit overcooked Condiments: the pork, the egg, the veggies were so bland. I dont think they even bothered to season the pork. Appetizers: okonomiyaki- just sauce and carbs, lacked any cabbage or other ingredients. Karaage was also bland. Takoyaki also had way too much sauce. Potato croquette was a bit too sweet, lacked seasoning. read more
Amazing Ramen! We've been here and few times and it doesn't disappoint. Located in an Asian/Indian/Pakistani shopping and eating area (Carrollton Town Center), this place is fabulous. I've gotten the Ramen Tonkotsu several times and it blows me away each time. The broth is the star of this place, loaded with flavor. The pork tastes great and everything else that comes with it is great. I've also had the fried squid legs and they were simply amazing. They come with a thick sauce, but I just dipped them in soy sauce and I was happy (check out my pictures). Great service and amazing food. If you like Ramen, this place is a must! read more

The ramen was okay , I'd describe it as lackluster to say the least. The service was good , no complaints there, but the food literally had no flavor to it. I got the spicy Tokyo and I had to ask for chili paste because it tasted watered down. My friends agreed they weren't fans as well. We also got the edamame and it needed salt and was cooked too well. read more

Busy on a Saturday afternoon. For three people we had about a ten minute wait because the place was packed. The service was good, but the food was okay. I ordered the Kara Miso Ramen which at first was good but mid way was too salty for my liking. Between bites I was taking sips of my water due to the intensity. The soft boiled egg was also a tad over cooked, with a harder - less runny yolk but was very well seasoned. My cousin had the Baisen Miso Ramen which was much less salty, with a creamy base and he asked for chili paste on the side for added spice. We were both surprised at the amount of ramen there actually was in each bowl. At first glance it doesn't seem like much but as you eat there seems to be an endless supply of noodles! One bowl is incredibly filling. Was it worth the price? Yes. Even though you only get two thin slices of chasu (pork belly) per bowl, you do get a good amount of veggies and noodles. It's good. I don't remember which one was which, but I got the dual option - spicy tonkotsu + spicy miso. The left side was better, but nothing really amazing. The right side was a bit bland and nothing really to talk about. We also ordered the fried chicken. It was a little hard to chew. Pretty popular on Sunday evening. Almost no seats left, even though there were a lot of seats. There are probably better ramen shops out there, but I have yet to find an amazing one in Dallas. read more
This neat ramen joint was located conveniently in the same plaza as Gen Korean BBQ, Kung Fu Tea, 85 degree bakery, etc. The interior dining area was very spacious and well kept. There were several large group tables in the center to accommodate big parties. Both sides of the restaurant were lined by individual tables divided by mini walls for the privacy of the couples/small groups. From the beginning, it was quite warm inside. Once I started eating my ramen, I was sweating bullets. My friends agreed that they needed to up the air. Our party shared three different appetizers together. The squid leg fry was a little tough and chewy without enough batter and crispiness. The agedashe tofu (deep fried tofu) was too soft. I must say my favorite was the karikara chicken (crispy spicy chicken) that had a tasty sauce, making the chicken very flavorful after each bite. My miso ramen came out in a large bowl, notably more in content & bigger in size than my friends' tonkotsu orders. The noodles were abundant and filling; they don't skimp out on the carbs. The broth was flavorful and tasted like miso. The hard boil egg was mediocre. The star of the dish was the chashu (pork belly) - tender & rich in flavor that easily melts in my mouth. I was able to try my boyfriend's Tokyo tonkotsu ramen. The broth was not as flavorful as my miso, and erred on the salty side. The only extra toppings available were extra ajitama (boiled egg), chashu, mixed veggie, & extra noodles. Being from Cali, my standards for ramen are quite high. What differentiates between an average versus excellent ramen spot boils down to the broth. The broth has to be really good as it was not as rich as my favorite ramen spots. Other places I have been to give you the option of raw chopped garlic to add in for extra flavoring; this place has limited toppings. They only have the spicy Japanese seasoning. More specialized ramen places have a maximum of four types of ramen on their menu. Just a heads up that this place has 13 different ramen bowls. Less is more in this case to focus on perfecting the handful of ramen on the menu. Our main waitress was friendly. Most importantly, she took our orders correctly. Everything went smoothly as anticipated. The appetizers were delivered before the main course. Our waters were filled appropriately as soon as they were empty. The group checks were partitioned nicely. Overall, average ramen. read more

The wait is over everyone, Hanabi Ramen (in Carrollton) has finally open! Yes, it is the same chef as the Fort Worth location! Yes, it is delicious! The inside of the restaurant is really nice, there are wooden accents everywhere and it definitely gives off an authentic Japanese vibe. When you enter you are greeted and seated. My cousin and I ended up sharing a Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen, chasu rice burger, and a chasu bowl. The tonkotsu ramen was very light and refreshing, their soup had a nice pork flavor and the egg was cooked to perfection. The chasu was melt in your mouth tender, and the noodles had the perfect texture. The chasu burger was alright. The chasu itself was good, as well as the sauce and vegetables but the rice "bun" was a little different that what I was expecting. If you've had a rice burger from Taiwan then you'll know what I mean when I say that Hanabi's rice bun is not the same texture, the rice was more dry and not what I was expecting. The chasu bowl is excellent, the chasu here has great texture and flavor and will be good whether you want it on rice, noodles or burger. I had the spicy miso ramen here and it was kinda bland and not as creamy as other ramen that i've tried. The soup was warm but the toppings were a little cold. However, service was really fast and the food came out literally right after we ordered it so I guess that's as expected. This is a good place to go if you're looking for a quick meal, but not if you're looking for the best ramen in dallas. read more
