    Gyozas & Titanic Roll
    Tara L.

Love having this spot so close to home! I grabbed the Titanic Roll and some gyozas while out shopping, and as always, they did not disappoint. The food is amazing, the service is quick and friendly, and it's such a convenient go-to in the area. So glad they're around--definitely one of my favorites!! Cute, intimate spot but we usually order to go!

Not much to update in terms of rating. I will say that they have updated the interior and it is cleaner, more modern take. Big ups. Menu is good, price is decent for the per sashimi price compared to other spots. Fish was fresh. Sashimi Combo was decent at $30 Beef teriyaki was like jerky in terms of slice size. So even if it's tough n overcooked, it will come out OK. Tempura was fresh n crispy...shrimp kinda tiny though. Service was just ok. No one looked at us when we were trying to get the check and a to go box. We were staring at the servers waiting for one of them to look out way. However before that they did ask if we were ok once, which is one more time than none. Sad that water had no ice. I dislike room temperature water to drink. So yah, still a good place to go for the area, better options if you're willing to go into Concord/Pleasent Hill.

Still my favorite sushi spot. Will always come here when I am craving sushi..(this is the shrimp tempura roll & SF roll, my personal two favorites)

We moved to Martinez a little over a month ago and have been here approximately 5 times. We love it so much! The roll are big and SO fresh but the prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely are regulars there

Tried Hanabi Sushi a second time, this time trying the chirashi sushi ($18.75). The rice was still excellent, but the sashimi wasn't very good. I'd stick to cooked dishes, like the unagi I had the first time.

Hanabi Sushi is truly a hidden gem. The restaurant is intimate, clean and bright. The service is excellent. I ordered Tempura Roll and Dragon Roll. There's a special menu - select two rolls for $19.99!! The rolls were fresh and delicious.

We came here during lunch hours and it was pretty crowded, so we decided to eat outside. Overall, the staff was very accommodating and still attentive to us despite being outside. They have a great menu with a wide selection of items, including udon, ramen, nigiri, hand rolls, etc. The prices are reasonable and nothing too much. We were a pretty large party of 10 people and they were able to get the food out pretty fast. It's not the most amazing quality fish/sushi, but for what it is, it's not a bad option,

TNT roll.....Yum (spicy tuna, avocado and jalapeno inside; deep fried and topped with micro fish eggs and special sauce)

This review is strictly for online take out order. Ordered the TNT roll.....oooh so good. Generous portion, perfectly flash fried. I'm not the most adventurous sushi eater but this roll was a knock out of the park in my opinion. It's a spicy tuna roll with jalapenos and avocado inside then deep fried and topped with micro fish eggs and special sauce. I will absolutely get this again. Sometimes fish eggs are a bit much for me but because this were so small, they didn't taste like anything or give any odd texture issues. My only personal downside is the ginger was smashed up against one end of the roll so in my opinion those 2 pieces tasted like spicy soap. In the future I'll call to order as you cannot make any alterations through the online ordering system.

Stopped by for a hand roll. Great service, it's a small cozy place with good sushi :)

    Sushi and Sashimi

Update: We've still been going here every week or so, and in the past couple months the consistency in quality has improved noticeably due to the new owner's obvious passion for the art of sushi, so I felt obligated to update my review. The nigiri and sashimi are now consistently artistic and beautiful and are melt in your mouth delicious. Total hidden gem and a great value, I hope they keep doing things exactly like this and we'll keep coming back forever!

Everything about this sushi restaurant is delicious.

My husband and I had lunch here and everything we ordered was delicious. The staff's were very attentive. The sushi chef was excellent. Everything he made looks and tasted amazing.

I come here at least once a week. Chicken katsu is amazing! Staff is always helpful and friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere even when it's busy. Outside and inside seating are available.

The takoyaki and the fresh fish dishes were standouts, the quality and value is hard to beat compared to SF prices. We barely got photos in before everything was gone. When we mentioned it was my dad's birthday, they stored the cake and brought it out with candles without us even having to ask. Little things like that go a long way. Oh and if your bill hits $100+, you get to pick a piece of jewelry from their collection which is a cute touch. Already looking forward to going back.

Such a good time and the waitress staff was fantastic! Great personalities, very attentive, knew the menu inside and out. Great time - and a fair price for sushi! Some opinions of what we had.... No welcome in or hello from staff, I was asked "pick up?" And said yes and provided my name. I was informed they were still preparing my order-GOOD. I would've been concerned if it was ready in less time. I handed my payment card to the host, she struggled with inserting the card into the square device, as well as holding the chip over the device as well. After about 3 minutes she figured it out. I was handed my receipt to fill out. She watched as I filled in the respected lines. I did not leave a tip - as it was a up order, and service thus far was not to par. I waited for my order... 8 minutes later it was ready. Before leaving I checked the bag, order correct, but lacking my preference of soy sauce. I asked the host for more she came back with ONE packet, and tossed it in the bag I was holding. I said out loud "oh just one?" Then asked the sushi chef if they had little to go containers for soy sauce and if I could get one of those. He said yes and instructed the host to fill one for me. She did, came out and handed it to me with what I interpreted was an annoyed look. I said thank you and left. Fascinating to say the least. I guess I was asking for too much. Sushi was decent. Hit the spot. But have had better.

The ambience of this place was very warm and inviting and I can see that this restaurant has a very special place in the pleasant hill community from all the pictures they've shared with their customers. On top of checking on us multiple times to see if everything was fine, they also gave us multiple free appetizers as I'm assuming business was a bit slow and we went near closing. We even asked for extra ginger to go, forgot about it, and one of the workers tried to give it to us still while we were already getting into our car... We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too. I also love how quick the service was, and they impose no limitation on how many times we can order or how many items we can get each round. We just feel really comfortable eating here.
