First time coming here dine in review ! Let's get into it . If you know me you know I love seafood and SUSHI ! We decided to try this place and decided to sit and eat instead of taking it out . So it's in a plaza so there is parking . Easy access . It's a small storefront but the way it's set up is very cutesy . Booths tables and bar front . Nicely lit . They all welcomed us and said hello when walking in . Our waitress was nice and very accommodating. The food . Great ! Miso soup came first with the crab puffs . Hot and tasted how a good miso soup should with none of the extra stuff like carrots ! lol . I always get sashimi . I can tell fresh sashimi and theirs were just that ! Fresh . And you get a nice amount on top of rice salad and soup for 39$ . The mixed tempura was good loved the breading . I wasn't much a fan of the sweet potato tempura tho because a texture thing for me lol . We got two rolls . lion king and dragon roll . both were good . Flavor was definitely there , I've had better . I think it was the rice for me . Crabs puffs were fresh , not under or over cooked . Batter was crispy but still juicy inside . And the sauces they give for each thing was tasty and fresh . They even use fresh wasabi ! Which is very rare ! That was top notch A+ for me because I can tell the difference . I took some home . That's how you know it's real . Overall they were very nice and I would come back again to try other things because it's hard to find good sushi places and they are pretty good in my book . Was in the area of Pleasant Hill, saw Yelp reviews and decided to order. I am glad I held back and ordered one roll. I am severely disappointed in my order. The online ordering process was a breeze. It was done through DoorDash. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and brought my order to me when it was ready. The restaurant itself was very clean and well maintained. I really wanted to love this place as it is near two places our daughter enjoys frequenting. The Rolls Royce is a fried roll with tuna, yellow tail and salmon ($16.45) which I ordered accompanied by miso soup ($2.75). The soy sauce cup was barely filled, approximately a fifth full. If you look at the cup in the sushi photo, the soy sauce does not even attempt to cover the bottom. I was able to dip one and two-third pieces of the roll before running out. The size of roll pieces are decent, but for the price the order should be seven pieces versus the five I received. I would be satisfied with five pieces if the quality of the fish was fresh and vibrant in flavor. I received neither. The fish tasted dated. It lacked the flavor tuna, yellow tail and salmon bring. As for the miso soup, I received two pieces of tofu in my soup. The taste of the soup itself tasted as though it was on the verge of molding. Once a week, I frequent Tokyo Fish Market in Berkeley where fresh fish is sold daily. Yellow tail and ahi tuna are two selections I regularly purchase in small portions. I know the taste, texture and appearance of fresh fish. Unfortunately, that is not what I received from Yokoso Sushi. The owner of Yokoso Sushi commented on a reviewer's post apologizing the quality of the food did not meet the reviewer's taste. The quality of ingredients and flavor of the two dishes I received were rancid. I took a single sip of the miso and two bites of a single piece of the roll - one without and the other with the soy sauce/wasabi mix. I ate the remaining piece and an additional piece of the roll with the soy sauce. Without the sauce, I could not eat the remaining roll. The fish in the roll was underwhelming in preparation and quality. Not sure what happened with my order, disappointed it did. read more

I got the teriyaki chicken bento box with gyoza. It comes with rice, salad, and soup. I appreciated how they separated all the food into different sections on the to-go tray. The chicken was tender. Oh my goodness!! This place is the best. I came here all the time about 5 years ago nice to know they are still here, and have not only remodeled but improved fish quality. Salmon and tuna are my favorite. Amazing fish quality. Everything comes out fast during lunch. Service is the best quality!! Caring gentle they know when to come and when to leave you alone. This review is strictly for lack of information and wrong info. This place is near my home and I found it on yelp. Their website says "lunch menu" and has the bento box for $16 so I came down there. When I seated, they only handed me one menu and it had no lunch specials and the bento box was $22. I asked the waitress if they had a lunch menu and she said no just that menu. Since under new ownership the quality is down and they don't value their customers as they used to. They're strict and rigid. I wanted the smaller kid size Bento box as the bigger size is too much for one person. They refused unless I ordered it to go. It was so frustrating trying to explain, I lost my appetite. So I ordered side appetizers, as suggested, that defeated the whole purpose as it ended up being so voluminous and I ended up bringing all that food home that will end up in the garbage disposal. Needless to say, we won't be returning any time soon. Also, the California rolls are the tiniest I've ever seen. And when you order tea it's brought in a miniature cup with no teapot as before. Located in a strip mall, the interior has a beautiful aesthetic that creates a great dining atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic selection, and everything I tried was delicious. First the packaging was really cheap, it felt like it came from a gas station or grocery store. They gave us ONE napkin. The sushi itself did not taste fresh, and the rice to fish ratio was some of the worst I have ever seen!!! Way too much rice and very small and thin pieces of fish, and the fish was not fresh!!! I had remembered the Honey Bunny roll when I went several years ago and had gotten it again with an appetizer salmon sashimi, when I recently went. It has most things I like- Spicy Crabmeat & Shrimp Tempura, topped w/ Hamachi, Unagi, Avocado, Lobster Salad, Scallion. Roll and salmon sashimi were pretty good but I've had better shrimp tempura - I would try some of the other options next time for variety. The combo of flavors were tasty. I've ordered takeout for lunch from Yokoso Sushi, and it was pretty solid! I placed my order online and pick-up was a breeze. $70 later, we enjoyed the following - Crazy Chili - an appetizer, and it was my favorite thing here so far. They're like fancy jalapeno poppers - jalapenos stuffed with spicy salmon and sauce. Delicious. Kid's Bento - with chicken karage and salmon teriyaki. A smaller version of their regular bentos. The kids enjoyed both the karaage and the teriyaki. Lunch Bento - with beef teriyaki and princess chicken. We selected the princess chicken because we had no idea what it was. It turned out to be a version of sweet and sour chicken. Not bad! Lunch Bento - with salmon teriyaki and sashimi. I prefer to have my raw fish as dine-in, but the cravings were a bit strong so I decided to have some with my bento. Sashimi was really small, but that's usually the case with most sashimi items within bento boxes, especially at $14 a bento box. Nonetheless, the items here were pretty good. Tempura Udon - udon noodles with soup and a side of tempura. The kids really enjoyed the noodles, and were a hit/miss with the tempura depending on what veggie it was. No big deal, more for me then. For Sushi in the concord/ walnut creek area I don't think you will get better quality for the pricy. Much better than a lot of the overpriced fancier places in WC. read more

We decided to try this spot since we were shopping in the area. Inside, there was a decent amount of people dining in and a decent amount of call ins for to go orders. Overall, service was so slow. Our drink orders were taken almost immediately after we were seated and we received our drinks quickly. After that, the service was very slow. There were 3 servers and twice as many kitchen staff and yet we waited quite a while before our order was taken. I had to flag a server down and we still had to wait for someone to come around. We ordered gyoza, edamame (not on the menu but I asked anyway and they had it), tempura udon, sesame chicken, and sashimi and tempura dinner combo. We revived our salad and miso soup a reasonable time after ordering but then the rest of the food took a while to arrive and when it did, it arrived in an odd order. The tempura udon arrived first. After a few more minutes, the rest of the items arrived at the same time and the gyoza was last. The udon was great: tasty broth, good portion of udon, and tempura on the side. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of it. The sesame chicken was sweet and savory and good. The sashimi was nicely portioned, fresh, and hit the spot.
