Staffs are supremely good and friendly food was bomb and we always had a great time like go have fun dindin at your family and friends!

idk who was working but they packed my doordash order so horribly i included the first time i doordashed a roll to the second time and it's SO TERRIBLE. idk who was working this day, but they did a poor job the sushi didn't even taste right, the ginger/wasabi was spilled all over and the lid was pressed down even tho there was food. although i really enjoyed my first time eating here, i can't eat at a place that handles food so carelessly. dasher said the bag was sealed shut and since the food was already closed on the lid, i suspect it's the restaurant!

I came here on family's recommendation - it's their favorite spot for sushi. I wasn't as convinced but they like it for its authenticity (small business, and you can see who's making the food). The service is really friendly and polite, which I appreciated so much. We got a bunch of food. The natsu bate was basically like the dragon roll except eel inside instead of shrimp. I liked it a lot. I also got the lion king roll. It wasn't as good as Ozora's. The salmon on top was like mush, and not flakey. What's nice about this place is that they have a vegan box! The place itself is a little dated, but because of that, it feels homey. Not much seating, so might not be able to accommodate large groups. Bonus: their toilet seat is heated.

    Is the restaurant still open?

Yes. I was just there maybe 2 weeks ago.

    Is there happy hour?

Sorry for respond to you late. Yes our happy hour is 4:30pm - 5:30pm everyday!

I'd love to know the backstory. Who's the owner/chef behind this? Looking forward to visiting soon! Looks great, and a very welcome addition to the area 😊

Hello! We moved to the states about 10 years a go from japan. And Mariko, the owner/chef had restaurant experience before but this is the very first time in the states. We wanted to introduce our home style Japanese food, kobachi to spread awareness…

We've been coming here for 4 years now, and they remember us every time. The service here is great. The servers are very friendly and are always on top of general service throughout the course of our visits. The food is also fantastic to say the least. We have never, and I mean never, have had an unpleasant experience eating here. Even if we ordered something we didn't personally like, it wasn't the quality nor the presentation that was to blame for our dislike. The feel of the restaurant is warm and inviting. The same woman always greets us, and as mentioned before, she always recognizes us. The chef almost always gives us an extra roll to try on the house. This is and was never expected, but they go out of their way to do so and we are beyond appreciative of it. The picture attached shows the roll given to us during our most recent visit. We would attach more photos, but we were too busy eating our other rolls to bother taking photos. However, even if they didn't give us a free roll to try from time to time, our regard for this lovely restaurant wouldn't change. I highly recommend Sushi Momoyama to any and every local that is craving tasty sushi and a welcoming atmosphere.

Upon entering, you are given this amazing salad with dressing and Miso soup. We ordered the Ichiban Roll, Dynamite roll, Amigo roll, and the new chef's special Mamacita roll. While all were amazing, the Mamacita roll especially caught our eyes because of it's refreshing taste and lemon flavor. It is something new that I hope the staff keeps because it was truly divine. Each time we enter, they always try their best to attend all customers with such a polite manner. We've been coming here for almost 4 years and we never regret our choices. Due to our frequent visits, the staff even remembers us! It truly makes us feel recognized. Regardless, this place is always an amazing recommendation for the best sushi in Concord. If you ever have a chance, please give this place a try. I highly recommend their sushi options but the rest of their food is just as good!

We sat right next to the bar which made it easy to get into the line for the sashimi. Wednesday is probably the best day to go because the line was relatively small and fast. In fact, we were the first people in line before the actual restaurant opened. We had Yelp reservations but being first in line, they didn't even ask about the reservation. Everyone was friendly and even the customers were friendly too. One older lady walked right in front of the line and said that she went there every Wednesday for 3 years and they know her. It was very clean and being the first people in the restaurant probably made the place even cleaner for us. The sashimi was fresh. Loved the salmon, saba (makeral), hamachi and unagi (eel). We loved the salmon skin rolls too and ordered it twice. The aburi nigiri was good when I added a slice of fresh salmon sashimi on top. You get a big plastic cup of water. Order the appetizers from the waitress (sashimi and rolls are a separate line inside the restaurant in front of the buffet). The sesame balls were tiny and cute. The hamachi collar was small and fresh (husband said it was a bit bland). It's relatively healthy if you like cooked fish. There is no sauce and it's just probably dipped quickly in hot oil to cook. Flash fried. Took about 10 minutes to cook. 40 minutes into the end of our lunch, the waitress brought our check and it was around 63 dollars for lunch after tip and taxes. Best value ever. I liked this much better than the Japanese restaurant I spent almost 100 on lunch in Berkeley recently. Highly recommended!

Parking was a bit tricky as they had some sort of event and a lot of the streets were closed off so I had to drive around a bunch of times. Luckily I came earlier than my reservation time. It was pretty nice weather out so I opted for a table outside but the ambiance is nice inside. Dim setting if you want to sit inside. I ordered a spicy pineapple margarita for my drink but it tasted like it didn't have any alcohol in it so that was a bummer so I didn't really want to order any other drink. I ordered the spicy edamame for appetizer, but it wasn't spicy and lacked a little in flavor/seasoning. I still ate it as I needed some sort of vegetables. For my food, I ordered my favorite salmon melt! This is a must order when you come. Always a hit! (I dipped my edamame in the sauce and it added great flavor to it lol) They had a Mother's Day special for handrolls and I was tempted to try it but didn't want to be super full, so I got two nigiri's instead; one hamachi and one spicy scallop. Both were so good! I would definitely order it again. Hamachi was fresh and soft. Easy to chew. Spicy scallop was made with a spicy mayo and cut up into pieces. Both were really good portion sizes. I was full but wanted to order more cause they were so good. I was offered the dessert menu but I was full so I didn't order any. Love coming to Sasa. Great service, great food and nice restaurant. If you get a chance, definitely check them out!

Service and cleanliness were major lowlights. Ended up waiting for an extensive period to order, to the point where we thought we had been forgotten about. Sasa roll and stone steak were as delicious as we remembered. We don't get out often, but I should've trusted the reviews. Disappointed we choose Sasa as our destination.

This is a little gem of a restaurant with a cute interior dining area with television for people watching the FIFA games, a good bar selection of you imbibe, and a delightful patio where you can sit under a covered awning. The place has a small parking lot along the side of the restaurant located in the back. If you're shopping at Whole Foods or Mount Diablo Foods, this restaurant is located down the street from them on a side street on Lafayette Circle. I spoke to the owner, they only use the best quality sushi: Atlantic King salmon, bluefin tuna, the shrimp is cooked here, white tuna is from Korea, the onso hamachi is from Hokkaido. The onagi is high end, and ordered from Thailand. There are two other Kiku Sushi & Vegetarian locations, one is located in north Berkeley, 1416 Gilman Street, Berkeley, CA, and one is located at 538 Valencia Street, San Francisco. The food is absolutely delicious, nicely presented, and the sashimi is cut into very thick slices. I ordered my favorite go-to dish, chirashi sushi, and a specially ordered eel handroll with rice and veggies. The matcha tempura ice cream was delicious, too. You must absolutely come and try out this place, they play relaxing, nice jazz music in the background, it was good for a very nice before-the-250th-anniversary of our country, the 4th of July!
