Shrimp tempura bowl - this was great had onion asparagus and squash

From no wait to table seating to the most delicious Salmon and Tempura I've had in a very long time... this place hit the spot. We're here for a Disney vacation thought we'd check out the hotels amenities. Dinner did not disappoint. The service was great our drinks never ran dry and we were offered many dinner options. I forgot to grab photos of the menus -my apologies- any who check out these bowls and give it a try next time you're in the area or staying at this hotel.you won't be disappointed.

If you want great sushi, you must try this place. Everything was fresh delicious. Our server Armando was fantastic. Explained everything to us and made sure to check on us frequently to see if there was anything we needed. Love that the tables are all separated by bamboo curtains, so you truly are experiencing an intimate dinner with friends

You have to to to the bar to have their omakase. Amazing sushi, also had two bottles of sake and the server and sushi chefs walk you through what everything is and while it might be a bit intimidating for sushi newcomers, I guarantee you it'll be one of the best meals you'll have. They serve you each nigiri sushi piece by piece at your pace and you can't beat having a front row seat to chefs making food art. $80 omakase for 12 pieces - super worth it. Also went for my wife's birthday, they make a huge spectacle and sing happy birthday and they even have a professional photographer to commemorate the night. I will be back again

Second time here and I am confirming a five star dining experience. Hanagi is inside the Majestic Hotel, near Disney, with parking validation. Don't let the Magic kingdom stuff distract you - the restaurant is a diamond in the rough. Each table is surrounded by hanging tatami mats for more privacy and the tables are large and spacious. The two main options are hot pot and traditional Japanese dining (which we did). Spicy garlic edamame Sautéed edamame with chili pepper, fried garlic, sesame seeds, black pepper. Great choice for a starter - savory and slightly spicy. Tuna Tataki Seared tuna with pico de gallo, sesame seeds, green shiso, green onion, spicy mayo, and Ponzu jelly. Simply an amazing must have every time dish. The finish lasts forever. Spicy tuna roll Chopped spicy tuna, avocado, topped with Serrano mayo. Tuna was slightly thin, but overall nicely rolled and flavorful. Vegetable Roll Avocado, asparagus, cucumber, lettuce, red bell pepper. Kind of a mishmash of weeds. Not super recommended. Hanagi Signature Roll Bluefin, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, Yama-gobo, Tobiko, edible gold, leaf, and truffle Ponzo sauce. An impressive array of unique flavors attempting to come together and just coming up short. Super delicious still. Hamachi sashimi The cuts are sent from heaven - confirmed on the palate. Smooth silky buttery madness. Nothing else to say. Tuna nigiri A bit dry in presentation compared to the first time I was here. Chilean sea bass Baked Chilean sea bass with saikyo miso. Very tender meat - and great sauce to go along with it. I love this place - if you're looking for an ace in the hole sashimi/Japanese restaurant to entertain clients or impress friends, look no further. That's all...

I feel like I've discovered a hidden sushi gem in Anaheim. My friend and I were heading to a show at the hotel and decided to stop in for dinner. We ordered chirashi bowls and also tried a few pieces of sushi on the side and we're so glad we did. The quality immediately reminded us of the sushi we had in Japan. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and generously cut, with rich flavor and a perfect texture. Although this restaurant leans toward the higher end, I genuinely think it's worth it. The quality of the sashimi is some of the best I've had in the LA area, and I would absolutely come back again.

    Chef's Nigiri 8 Piece + Otoro Nigiri

One of the best places for great sushi dinner at a great value in OC! Located in the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel, this restaurant had a beautiful interior that had table setups that creates great atmosphere and privacy so you can eat in peace with your group! I came with a couple of friends that were new to eating a set sushi menu and I could not ask for a greater experience. The staff and our waiter were very friendly and helpful, providing good recommendations and explanations of the menu. I ordered for me and my friends each a Chef's Nigiri (8 pieces of sushi and 4 piece California Roll) and added piece of Otoro. The Chef's Nigiri 8 piece was $38 which is an AMAZING value for what we got. Each nigiri piece came with the generously-sized piece of fish and tasted very fresh. My friends who were new to this style of nigiri set enjoyed every piece, and so did I! My favorite pieces of the meal were the Chutoro and the Otoro! The service was excellent and very perceptive. They waited to serve us when we were all back at the table after bathroom breaks so no one was waiting. They also validated parking tickets received when entering the hotel parking. Overall, a wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back!

Hanagi has been consistently reliable, each visit delivers high-quality, delicious food. This was my second time dining here, and the standard remains impressively high. The sushi, in particular, stands out for its freshness and quality of fish. The menu feels authentically Japanese, and every dish reflects careful preparation. Service is also a strong point: the staff are attentive, courteous, and regularly check in without being intrusive. The ambiance enhances the overall experience. The restaurant is thoughtfully designed, with dividers that make it easy for larger groups to converse comfortably. Sitting at the counter is equally enjoyable, offering a clear view of the chefs at work, preparing dishes fresh right in front of you. While it is on the pricier side, the quality of the ingredients and the overall dining experience make it well worth the cost.

Celebrated my birthday this year here this year! The 6:30PM Sunday reservation was easy to book the day before. Service was awesome, enthusiastic and tentative. The space is ideal because with the wooden partitioning it feels like you're in a private room. The fish was fresh and the portion size of the chirashi was reasonable for the price, we were definitely full afterwards. Would definitely come back, a hidden gem in Anaheim! They validate parking as well because it's in the hotel lot.

My family and I stayed at this hotel check my review for that place. Anyhow its in a hotel, new restaurant Japanese and sushi at its finest. Sushi was cold, creamy so subtle but yet full of flavor. Service was awesome! Jose is his name, if you get him as a server you're lucky! He poured our drinks, made us laugh, attentive but not buggy. There was a lady taking pictures and apparently the cost is 3/50$ NOT 3/15$! BIG difference lol we got the pictures. We ordered the trii carpaccio which came with oysters, shrimp, yellowtail i think it was good my husband wasn't a fan. The oysters were creamy and shrimp was ok i would prefer another fish not shrimp especially for the price it was $35. Don't mind paying but i want better fish, please. My son picked permaseano cheese and seaweed fries! Right seaweed fries! I must admit not bad. I'm not a fan of seaweed but this was like powder and i had to try weird that i love sishi but not seaweed, not alone at least. Tuna tataki was a bit different than what I'm used to but omg! its full of flavor, i recommend. My mouth waters thinking of it! spicy salmon roll was also absolutely delicious - highly recommend! My son ordered green tea ice cream, and tried miso soup. I didn't try either but he seemed to enjoy. We ordered a peach saki, sweet and went down smooth. We had to get sashimi salmon! Presentation was pretty and quality you can taste, recommend! I would love to come back. My son ordered the chicken fried with salad and roasted veggies, it was delicious. Ambiance was cool, felt like I was some place in Japan, lovely! Thank you JOSE for your great service!! I highly recommend! The place and you as a server!

Oh Hanagi..!!! Wow where do I start. Near "the happiest place on Earth", Located in the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel past a coat of arms and an arcade sits this wonderful little restaurant called Hanagi! Yes, the restaurant is inside the hotel where there is a paid parking lot, but don't worry, the parking can get validated with your lunch/dinner. The hotels decor is eclectic, but the restaurant itself is very nice with wood accents and spacious design. We reserved (even though it wasn't necessary when we arrived on a weekend night) a table for us and our friends and were met by very enthusiastic staff, who were helpful in validating our parking. Food: no Shabu tonight, it was all about the sushi and the raw fish. Though the Hanagi roll was the star for my table, my personal fav was the A5 wagyu. Also please treat yourself? Get the omakase, it is sooo worth it. Hope this helps in making your dining choices! Don't forget to validate your parking :)

First time visit and definitely will be back. Celebrating our 22nd anniversary, this has been on our list to visit for a long time and after tonight I feel we've truly been missing out. The food is ridiculously good and so fresh. Shabu Shabu was a nice surprise. The Miyazaki A5 Wagyu was, for lack of a better term, epic. Wife who had never had O-Toro loved it, like butter. 5 Stars!

An unforgettable Japanese dining experience! I've been living in Anaheim for over 4 years, and I can honestly say -- I've never had Japanese food this good before. From start to finish, our evening was flawless. We found this gem through OpenTable (thank you, OpenTable!), where I instantly booked a reservation. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a kind and welcoming host who quickly showed us to our table. Just two minutes later, our drinks arrived, followed by our food only five minutes after that -- the service was impressively fast and organized. I started with a Sapporo on draft, followed by another Japanese beer (I wish I remembered the name -- it was incredible). But the real highlight of the night was learning how to properly enjoy traditional sake. I never realized there was such a beautiful ritual behind it -- sipping it slowly, appreciating the depth of flavor. It was a fantastic experience. Now the food... absolutely exceptional. The sushi, rolls, nigiri, and gunkan were beyond delicious -- everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. This is top-tier Japanese cuisine. A special shout-out to our waiter, German -- he was phenomenal. So attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and drink. His recommendations made our evening even better. The bill was very reasonable for the quality we received, and we left extremely satisfied. I'm already looking forward to coming back -- and bringing friends next time. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Japanese food with warm service and a great atmosphere, this place is an absolute must-visit.

You guys!!!! Came back for our annual Hanagi fix and WOW. It was as good as I remember it! Our server Sheila was a literal GEM, so attentive and patient with us. From the hostess to the staff greeting us, the entire ambiance was just so warm and welcoming! The food was incredible as always!!! We ordered the omakase special, a few sashimi specials and a mixed tempura to share. The pieces are always HUGE and super fresh!! I can't wait to be back!

I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and this place easily ranks in my Top 3. Every piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious.
