I ordered the Spicy Edamame, Gyoza, Baja Yellowtail, Mango Tango, Yellowtail Sashimi, and Eel Avocado hand roll The Spicy Edamame was a good quantity, but the spicy sauce was pretty bland and wasn't that spicy. I would still recommend, but know it's nothing special from other sushi places. The Gyoza was very basic as well, nothing special or different than other small sushi restaurants. I wish there were a couple more on the plate for the price. I wouldn't recommend overall. The Eel avocado roll was pretty good, for the price I wish it had more eel. The Baja Yellowtail roll was really good, I enjoyed the garnishes on top it complimented the roll very well. I would recommend to order it. The Mango Tango Roll was very tasty and the abundance of flavors all complimented each other very well. The Yellowtail sashimi was better than I expected, most small sushi places have salty tasting sashimi but this one was surprisingly fresh and great size. Only thing I wish was for thicker sliced lemons because these thin ones were practically unsqeezable Overall, if you're looking for premium sushi this would not be on my list, but if you're looking for something nearby and basic/good sushi I would recommend this place. Keep in mind this can be a bit pricier than most other small sushi places. The food came out quick and the staff was nice and friendly. The ambiance is nice and and place is well decorated.

We come here at least once a week. Sushi is always on point. This is the lunch special best deal in town!! The service is impeccable!! We love the service we are always greeted with a smile. The restaurant is always clean btw! If you have space you have to try the Mo Chi!

This place is straight VALUE!!! Where can you get a miso soup, salad, and12 pieces of sushi for less than $20?! I like the affordable sushi restaurants for deals like this, and if that's the kind of sushi you want, this is great quality for an affordable price! The restaurant itself had a lot of seating, you order at the counter and staff brings you the food! Would go here more often if I lived close to it!

Such fast service. Not from in town, stopped here. Food was great! We order the Hawaiian, Jessica, and the Cactus Dragon of I think it's called. All the sushi rolls were great! We inhaled them! The Jessica roll tasted so fresh and refreshing, Hawaiian was delicious and the Cactus of dragons crunch was really yummy! The place plays music but still at a decent level you can have a conversation. They have great deals on rolls!

Pretty good hidden in the wall spot in Anaheim. It's small, but the service is quick and friendly. The rolls are delicious. I love the salmon killer! I've never had pickled onions on top of a sushi roll before, but it's very good. My opinion Is they put priority on their to go orders, so the wait was longer than expected for being the only two people dining in the restaurant. Also, my check said $40 but when i paid it was 47? Plus tip. Overall good sushi, I'm sure I'll be back.

Great tasting sushi, very fresh food and flavor. I have ordered a a few things on the menu, and I especially love their Tiger rolls. Everything is good. I order ahead and sometimes they are even deals on DoorDash or Postmates when you order in the app. The ambiance is cute/small mom and pop type table and chairs if you want to dine in.

We were down in the O.C. and wanted to grab lunch after mini golfing at Camelot. Yelp suggested Toyo, which is a 5 minute drive from the putting greens. It was such a good choice. This quaint mom & pop-styled Japanese bistro is really cute. The food's fresh and generous portions are served in the Bento Box. The Chirashi Bowl is filling and the Salmon plate is well worth the Daily Special price. All 3 of us left satisfied. As for the final bill, it was very reasonable for full-fledged meals and fresh seafood. In addition, Toyo has really good menu specials on sushi, sashimi, and masubi. Plus, if you check in on Yelp, you get to try their creamy mochi ice cream. We got to try two Strawberry Mochis. All in all, it was a quick and charming lunch spot. Our server was very accommodating. We ordered from Toyo Sushi & got 2 California rolls, a tempura Philadelphia roll, & a crunchy roll. Everything was so delicious & full of flavor. This sushi spot never misses & the fish always tastes fresh & I'm actually pretty picky when it comes to sushi. This is one of the few places I can eat multiple times & never get tired of it. We really love it. I'm also happy it's close by & they're always very friendly when my husband goes in to pick up our order. Definitely one of our go-to sushi spots! read more

Ate at this local spot for din. It's located in Anaheim on State College Blvd. Small place, but they've renovated and it looks great inside! They have warm, ambient lighting on in the evening, so it's kind of vibey. I, personally, like this place more than Orange Roll, but that's just me (lol). I ordered the Tempura Udon and some more mixed tempura for the table. This has to be one of my favorite places for tempura because they make the batter perfectly crispy and it kind of melts in your mouth a little compared to other places where it's very doughy. I definitely recommend trying the tempura! The udon was good too and had a nice, light broth which was very comforting and had the classic udon toppings. They even added slices of shiitake mushroom. Also, it's a fairly large bowl, too, so it's worth their price! Service is pretty quick there and the staff is always friendly! Give it a try if you're in Anaheim looking for some quick Japanese food. read more

Sushi here is good. Was ordering here for a long time. Today, I ordered 6 plates of sushi thru doordash and when I received my food, I quickly noticed no Soy sauce, ginger or wasabi. I thought ok maybe they forgot. When I called the restaurant they said that all needs to be requested and there is extra fee. Crazy. Anyway, that was my last order. Great sushi spot! Everything we ordered was super fresh and beautifully presented. The rolls were generous, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. On top of that, the staff was incredibly nice and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell they really care about both the food and the customers. The Coconut Shrimp Roll had coconut shrimp, coconut mayo, and shaved coconut. This was a surprisingly delightful combination. The Lemon Salmon Roll was very good, but could've benefited from a sauce. The Caliente and Golden Tiger Rolls were also tasty. I would return for more rolls, cold signature plates, and their Uni Pasta. They offer BOGO deals on certain rolls and have an attractive selection of liquors & cocktails. This is a classy location for celebrating.

We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.

I recently tried Toyo Sushi and Roll, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. As soon as I walked in, there was a weird, funky smell -- kind of like a restroom -- that made me a little unsure from the start. The door was heavy and hard to pull, which made entering a bit awkward. The food itself was okay. The sushi tasted good and was fairly fresh, but everything else fell a little flat. The service was a big highlight, though -- our server was amazing, friendly, and attentive, and made sure we were comfortable despite the surroundings. Unfortunately, after we finished and got home, I ended up with a huge stomach ache and threw up, which was a big downside. Between the strange smell, heavy door, and getting sick afterwards, I'd say Toyo Sushi and Roll has some things to work on, although the service and the sushi were bright spots in an otherwise tough dining experience. read more

This place is amazing! Great sushi at a great price, definitely a business to compete with Sushi Stop. I went around mid August randomly feeling like sushi and found Toyo on Yelp. Not only was their sushi unique, but their service was top notch. It took them a while to get us our drinks and checks, but I think that may be had to do with the small number of staff. After we got our check they offered us a special blue roll on the house, which was very hospitable of them, and tasted very savory. Creative sushi by thoughtful people. Only con I have is that the restaurant is in a hole-in-the-wall, easy to miss, small dining area and little parking. But that's pretty common in southern California. If they get really good they should think about upgrading their building. Definitely will be back! read more

As soon as we left the discussion began. A three or a four?! 3.5 would be ideal. We tried 4 rolls. 2 spicy with jalapeños 2 others. Sorry I don't remember the names any longer but that's cause they were not particularly memorable. They were good but none were that distinct from the other. Krabmeat was in abundance which is fine with me, but all four had the same mouth feel with less crunch on the inside than I like. Ok all that said - I'd go more the route of sashimi, the fish seemed fresh. We also ordered mussels and that's what carried that fourth star. They were so good. Well cooked, lots of meat and flavor. I am very picky when it comes to sushi restaurants. I'm new to the area, and was very very happy I came across Toyo. At a majority of sushi restaurants, the fish tastes old and anything but fresh. The quality of the fish was great, and the service was amazing. I assumed there would be a long wait considering it was pretty busy, when my boyfriend and I arrived. We were able to grab a table right away, and the service was very fast. It's also a great place for a lunch date... their menu is great with so many options. Very accommodating! The sushi is affordable and has quality & quantity! I'm enjoying my three item bento box, salmon sashimi, small shrimp tempura, and a salmon roll - all under $40! This is surprising to me because all the sushi places Ive ordered from are about $50-$60. Delivery was very fast and my food wasn't cold at all! Beware of this place Food is not fresh at all!!! I went there during my lunch and purchased a lunch special spicy chicken was so soggy, the teriyaki sauce that was on my teriyaki chicken was thick like jello, called them to complain and they gave me the biggest attitude they wanted me to take the food in like if they didn't believe me, sure enough I go back to show them and they did tell me they make three batches of chicken through out the day what restaurant does that!!!!!!! The tempura is also very good and comes out hot and fresh. Yes, yes, yes! It doesn't matter what you order, it'll be good! I'm not a big fan of sushi (I know, gasp) but this is where my friends wanted to go so I obliged. They freakin' loved their rolls, sashimi and whatnots while I very happily slurped on my tempura udon noodle soup. Clean, cozy place with warm people and cheap prices. There's enough non-sushi items to get me to come back, oh and a killer green tea ice-cream. read more
