Chicken Katsu - comes with rice/pickled jalapenos/coleslaw/ 1 pc shrimp tempura/2 pcs gyoza

My girlfriend and I stopped by here around noon on Saturday to enjoy some fresh katsu before our stop to Downtown Disney close by. The service was nice and quick. The shop is a bit small but there's outdoor seating where you can eat your food. We both got the Chicken Katsu which comes with rice, pickles jalapenos, coleslaw, 1 piece of shrimp tempura, and 2 pieces of gyoza. Everything was decent overall. It'll give me enough energy for the Disney walk-a-thon to come.

Came here around 9pm after a Disney day and it was the best decision ever. I haven't had a meal in a long time where I enjoyed every single item we ordered! There's 3 self service kiosks you can order at with pictures of the larger entrees so it's easier to choose what you want. There's no seating inside but there are a few tables outside covered with umbrellas. We ordered: Pork with cheese katsu- this was sooo worth it. There's 2 layers of cheesy, crispy pork katsu goodness, a big scoop of rice, coleslaw, a spicy radish sauce, and fried gyoza and shrimp on the side. Everything was seasoned well and stood out on its own. The radish sauce wasn't overly spicy and cut the richness of the cheese so well. Rose tteokbokki- the sauce was a little runny but the flavors were still on par-- creamy, cheesy, and a lil spicy. Rice cakes were bouncy and chewy, and sausages were umami flavor bombs. Shrimp musubi- these surprised me by how good they were! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned with a great crunch. Yummm Spam musubi- spam... you can't go wrong with spam. This was good, as expected! But if you're looking for a musubi with more pizazz, try the shrimp musubi Already thinking about the next time I can come here. Highly recommend!

Mama Katsu is a hidden gem! I'm not sure how long they've been open, but wow--this place completely exceeded my expectations. Everything we ordered was delicious. The California roll was fresh and flavorful, my kimbap was vibrant and really well seasoned, and the shrimp tempura was amazing--super fresh, fluffy, and not greasy at all. We also ordered the spam musubi, which had great flavor and is always one of our favorites. The service was great, the place was clean, and it's also really convenient for takeout. We placed our order online through their website and it was ready quickly. When we arrived, the parking attendant helped direct us to double park on the red for a quick pickup, which made it SO convenient. If I could rate this place a 10, I would! Definitely come give it a try--you won't be disappointed. We'll absolutely be back.

I work at the happiest place on earth so I finally got to give this a try to bring lunch to work. I ordered the chicken katsu and it was so delicious and was still crunchy an hour later after clocking in for work. There was a lot of food to my surprise for $22. It is nice they give you a gyoza and shrimp tempura with your chicken katsu. The coleslaw I didn't care for but the pickles and rice I enjoyed a lot. I will go back again to try the other things on the menu. There is a kiosk to order so I didn't talk to anymore except when I got my food. Lady was nice who served me. I didn't have to wait long, only 15 min or so. There's plenty of seating outside no sitting inside since it's a small area other than a few chairs as a waiting area.

We just finished a long day at Disneyland and were craving Japanese food. We found this spot in a plaza with a bunch of interesting combos and stopped in around 9-10pm. The place was empty, but they have three easy-to-use tablets for ordering, which made it super seamless. Our food was ready in under 10 minutes! The portion sizes are massive--the katsu was great, and it came with unexpected sides like tempura and gyoza that were actually delicious. It was the perfect, quick, and filling meal to end a Disney day.

The best Katsu ever. I was amazed with how much the portions were on the bento. Must try. Everything was good.

This place is absolutely fantastic! We found it on Yelp after leaving Disneyland and wanted something to take with us back to the hotel. The stellar reviews are all very accurate and this place is amazing! The portions are huge compared to what you pay for your food and everything is so fresh and delicious. I also love their different dessert options. They are perfect for walking to your hotel after Disneyland if you need a snack. My husband and I both got the Katsu chicken meal +10 dumplings and it was more than enough food for the two of us. I highly recommend this place if you are staying in a hotel near Disneyland.

Small spot just outside the disney gates. There's tables outside but this is mostly for carry out. Unsure if they do delivery (maybe doordash or ubereats?) We went with the chicken katsu meal and added extra rice. Once we got back to hotel, we were pleasantly surprised at how big the portion of food was. Good enough to feed 2 adults and a toddler. It also came with 2 gyoza and 1 shrimp tempura. Everything tasted great. Would definitely come back if we were staying close by.

I was looking around for food outside of Disneyland and happened to see this spot. I enjoy a good katsu, and this place hit the spot with its cost and taste. It was a walkable distance after leaving the park, which was also a plus. The place itself is pretty small - more of a takeout place than a sit-down restaurant. They only have a few chairs available inside to sit down while you wait for your order. There are seats and tables available outside. We ordered the Pork Katsu and were able to share the box between two people. It included a lot! There was the katsu, a piece of gyoza, a piece of shrimp tempura, rice, pickles, and coleslaw. It was pretty worth it, especially when comparing it to the prices and portions of Disneyland.

My flight landed late and I was famished. I searched Yelp for a less fast-food-oriented restaurant and Mama Katsu caught my eye due to its positive reviews. It's nestled in the heart of a small shopping center, a cozy carry-out restaurant with no dining space. The interior is charming and nicely decorated. When I walked in, a lady came out from the back and greeted me with very friendly energy. I ordered both the chicken and fish Katsu from the ordering kiosk by the counter. The food came out pretty fast and the packaging was very impressive, with each meal in a nice paper box. This and the service was the highlight of my experience from this establishment. I had the fish Katsu and found it to be ... okay. I like that the meals came with rice, two dumplings, and two small sides: coleslaw and pickled radish. However, the fried fish was quite oily and too heavily battered for my liking and left me feeling as though I had consumed more batter than actual fish. As a result, I didn't revisit during the rest of my stay and probably won't visit again when I'm in town next. If it's late and you're in the area, AND absolutely in the mood for Katsu, I would say give this place a try. Other than that, there are healthier options than here. Note: There's a charge for paying with a credit card.

We had a party of 9 people and decided on katsu for a dinner on Saturday. This place is conveniently located close to disneyland and anaheim garden walk. There are 3 kiosks to order from. Seems like a mom and pop katsu and korean restaurant. The owner came out to talk to us after we got our food, she was so sweet and asked us where we were visiting from. The food came out so fast too, only took about 10 minutes. The portions were humongous, I wish I shared with someone but since it came in a takeout box, it was easy to pack up. We ate outside, plenty of outdoor seating. I got the chicken katsu and original kimbap. My friends got either chicken or pork tonkatsu and they were both delicious. Our katsu also came with some cole slaw, gyoza, shrimp tempura, katsu sauce, and pickled jalapeño sauce. Large portions for a great price. Thanks Mama Katsu!

Not much to say really. Small place with a few good options. Tried the spam and the shrimp musubi and the gyoza. It's a bit pricey, but then again this could be normal pricing for California, it's just I can't really justify the price for what I'm getting knowing I've eaten the same thing only better and cheaper at quite a few places. Some outdoor seating which is nice. I would eat there again but wouldn't seek it out.

Pro: close to hotel, potion size. Con: price, limited seating. After a day of Disneyland outing it was close to dinner time and decide to give this place a try since it was only less than a 10 minute walk from our hotel. I ordered the pork katsu and when I open the box I was surprise at the portion size. My meal box came with dumplings, shrimp tempura, and pork katsu with sauces. The dumpling and the tempura were ok while the katsu itself was a bit bland. I dip the katsu in the sauce and that did help it a bit. All in all, it was an ok meal to get you full but nothing special that would scream come back soon.

Not a real ramen place. All Costco throw and go food here.

The kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and gat kimchi are absolutely delicious. I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. It has the crispy texture of Japanese katsu, while still having a great pork flavor of its own. I honestly think this could be considered one of their signature dishes. If you're looking for authentic Korean comfort food with generous portions and warm service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely keep coming back!

We asked about it and then they said it's because we might distribute it to our friend, yea no. They literally told us "becuase we were all around the same age they couldn't". We were not. And how do they know the parents wouldn't give alcohol to their kids? Are they just deciding when this so called "policy" takes effect? There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!

The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.
