Overall this sushi place is very solid. It is located on the side of a small shopping area with a good amount of parking although during busier times, parking can still be a little difficult. The service was fast and efficient. We also appreciated the unlimited drinks and ice cream that came with the omakase ayce option. The sushi was excellent for the most part. Each cut was clean, fresh, and went very well with the provided ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. I really liked the blue fin tuna and fatty tuna cuts. However, we were not fans of any of the GB (garlic butter) dishes. They were good at first but quickly became overwhelming. Minus the GB options everything else was excellent. I would recommend a visit here but maybe don't order the GB cuts.

Exceptional service and ayce sushi. Cassie, our server, was thorough and patient with our questions about their procedure. This was the first restaurant since my trip to Japan where I actually liked the albacore. Usually, it's too fishy, buy Hanamaru did it justice. The Cajun albacore and yuzu yellowtail were crowd favorites, but the fatty and bluefun tuna were the pinnacle of our tasting experience. Fresh and simple. Can't go wrong with that. Once again, our thanks to Cassie and the other waitress for their service today. We will be returning - with more company.

Yellowtail nigiri never disappoints. Tried something new, Divine Lava, for the shrimp tempura inside. Good, but I think my favorite is still the Inferno for that jalapeño kick.

My family and I have been here about 4 times in the past month. Needless to say this is my favorite ayce sushi spot. They simply do everything right. Their service, top notch. Only 1 waitress but she was on top of things, courteous, and apologetic when she didn't need to be. I recently tried another ayce sushi spot and the service was the complete opposite there so this was a breath of fresh air. I mainly do nigiri and ordered the essential ayce. the salmon, yuzu yellowtail, albacore, fatty tuna, bluefin tuna, giant scallop, and fosh of they day are all exceptional and ordered several rounds. I got 4 kids and they love many of the appetizers. The fridge of several drinks and freezer full of ice cream/popsicles, etc are also a huge hit. I drank way too much soda but its just so great being able to grab what you want at your own leisure. I forgot to mention how well kept this place is in my last review. everything is clean including the bathroom. dare i say that the bathroom is the cleanest bathroom ive seen at any restaurant. If you are on the fence and craving quality sushi, dont sleep on this place! weekday prices are cheaper than many other atce sushi locations and this place gives all you can drink (non-alcoholic) and all you can eat dessert. Wanted to reiteratehow easy this is a 5 star location. Hope this place stays around forever because ill definitely be a regular.

Chef Kohei just opened his second location--Hanamaru Sushi--and it's a solid extension of what we already love at Huntington Ramen. Same menu, same vibe, same amazing staff, and same quality! We tried their all-you-can-eat option which is $39.99 on weekends and includes appetizers, nigiri, rolls, drinks, and dessert. We stuck with our usual favorites: garlic edamame, takoyaki, agedashi tofu, and soft shell crab. Everything came in smaller portions, which made it easier to try more without feeling overwhelmed. We got a bunch of nigiri, the negitoro handroll, the salmon skin handroll, and our go-to rolls: Mr. Craving, Spider, Tiger, and Divine Lava. We also tried all the carpaccios and chef's selections (one per person) which included scallops, halibut, mackerel, chu toro, and fatty tuna, all were so worth it. It's the same flavors and care we've come to expect from Chef Kohei, just in a bigger space with more flexibility to try a bit of everything. Definitely worth checking out if you're into the original spot!

Came here with a group of 8 after spectating a pickleball tournament nearby--we were starving and this place hit the spot. It looks like they just opened recently and the vibe inside was modest but cozy, with cute umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. They were one chef down that night, so the service was a bit slower which they were super apologetic about it. Honestly, the staff made up for it with their kindness--our waitress was incredibly sweet and had such a great attitude. We really appreciated that. To make up for the delay, they even surprised us with an extra platter of premium sushi on the house, which was such a nice gesture. The sushi itself was fresh and and well worth the AYCE price (39.99 for the essentials). It's exactly what you'd hope for in a casual, all-you-can-eat sushi spot. They have a great selection of sodas, soft drinks and teas. And some fun ice cream options like Snickers and Strawberry Shortcake, and fruit bars. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving sushi in a chill, welcoming atmosphere!

There are three different ayce tiers. From 24.99 to 44.99 I believe. All tiers includes unlimited soda cans and ice cream. Which I think is insanely good deal. Don't know how long that will last, but it's pretty sweet. The fish was good but the rice was really good. Reminds me of sushi rice from Japan. This is a one man show I believe. If you're in a rush. This place is not for you. Maybe he has extra help during busy times. I was there in the middle of the week during lunch. If you're into helping out the little guy. This place is it. Give him a try

Split order of Crispy Rice w/Spicy Tuna (2 pieces vegan & 2 regular)

New Sushi Restaurant in LH! We're notoriously skeptical of sushi in the area but this place does it all & it does it well. They're in the midst of a soft opening & getting their menu/ingredients sorted, so keep that in mind if you plan on coming in within the upcoming days. The place is quaint, clean, and quiet so far and the owner/staff were super warm and welcoming. They were able to help us navigate the menu and recommended some items to us. Here is what we ordered from both the regular and vegan menu: Vegan Golden California- Vegan California roll fried in tempura batter and topped with eel sauce & spicy mayo. Tasted like it was fried fresh and was served warm. Standard but great roll. Vegan Crispy Rice w/Spicy Tuna - Just like it sounds, fried rice topped with "tuna." Made fresh and tasted good. However, the "tuna" is the same base as the faux crabmeat so don't expect it to taste/look/feel even remotely similar to real tuna. As for my personal preference I would try another roll instead next time. Fried Vegan Gyoza: Surprising star of the night. It's so hard to find gyoza in sushi restaurants that don't taste like freezer burn or aren't fried in dirty oil. However, Hanamuru manages to avoid both of these faux pas. These gyoza had the perfect ratio of veggies to dough and were served piping hot! Couldn't really ask for more from an appetizer. Regular Menu: Garlic Crunch Rainbow Roll: Classic rainbow roll with assorted fish covered in a garlic chili crunch sauce. Fish was good quality and fresh. A staple roll done well with a simple twist. Crunchy Spicy Tuna Handroll: Another standout of the night. Flavorful fresh tasting tuna and a perfectly crispy shrimp tempura to accompany it. Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna: Topped with spicy tuna & a Jalapeño. Only for those who can handle the heat, but just as fresh and tasty as everything else. Pork Gyoza: Just like the vegan gyoza they had a great ratio and were perfectly crunchy. A must order for appetizer. Given the amount and quality of the food we found it to be very decently priced & would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area. It's crucial to support independent businesses & as locals we're excited to see a new restaurant in La Habra with such a vast and evolving menu. (The vegan menu is an especially welcome edition given how badly the veggie scene is lacking in the area.) Excited to see where Hanamaru goes from here!

My go to spot in La Habra. The food is excellent. The service is great. And the ambiance is good.

IT'S VEGAN They have an entire menu filled with pages of VEGAN SUSHI, VEGAN RAMEN, and so much more! I discovered this place at 9 PM on a Sunday when I was on my way to get fast food, and it popped up on my Yelp feed! The food is incredible and very tasty; the texture is so satisfying, and the options feel endless! I'm hooked and will definitely be back! The customer service was fantastic--quick and clean. I know they are new, so I'm excited to return! If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is the spot! I ordered the Garlic Butter Vegan Salmon, and it was delicious--10/10 recommend to everyone! My partner ordered the Vegan Tan Tan, which was so flavorful, and the noodles were incredibly tasty--also a 10/10 recommendation! And the Vegan Bao made my taste buds explode! The staff was so nice they gave us crispy dumplings! And they also wre tasty! I'm excited to go back!

David G.

Some of the cuts of sushi were a hit and some a miss. I had to force myself to finish a couple of the cuts I ordered, the texture was very off. All you can eat price was very reasonable. I also tried some shishito peppers and they were very good.

Came here after work around 9 PM on an empty stomach, and wow--what a treat! They just opened five days ago, so now is the perfect time to visit before the crowds catch on The quality of the fish is incredible, even for our Japanese palate --fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared They haven't secured their alcohol license yet, but trust me, you won't want to miss this experience! We've been longtime customers at their first restaurant, Huntington Ramen and Sushi in Fullerton, which isn't AYCE but is known for its top-notch ramen and sushi. Now, we're beyond thrilled that they've opened a second location here in La Habra, even closer to us! Don't judge--just try their food, and you'll see what we mean! Highly recommend!

The portion size was generous - we were pleasantly stuffed by the end with so many pieces to work through. The standout for me was the seared black cod. Every other piece that came out was just as carefully done, and you could tell a lot of skill and attention went into each one. I also appreciated that they offer different tiers of omakase, so you can pick what fits your appetite and budget. Price was fair for the amount of food you get - definitely good value. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the restaurant itself was spotless - a nice touch that added to the overall experience. This is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great omakase experience.

My son took me to Akashiro for my birthday. What a treat this was!!…read more He ordered the full omakase experience for us. I didn't know what to expect, but WOW! It's a like a dining adventure. Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

Yoshiharu Ramen is beyond delicious, and it's hard to put into words how flavorful the food is. The restaurant has tinted windows, possibly to reduce sunset glare, creating a unique atmosphere. However, the ambiance could be more welcoming, perhaps with some soft music and better organization to make it more inviting. We were first welcomed by the receptionist/waiter named Elena. Elena was very friendly and made my family and me feel comfortable. From the very beginning, she was attentive to our needs and checked on us throughout our dinner to see if we needed anything. There were five of us, and we had the following: * (2) Tonkotsu Miso * (2) Tonkotsu Shoyu * Spicy Miso LV1 * Edamame * Garlic Edamame * Deep Fried Gyoza * Crunch Fire Roll * Jalapeño Bomb Talking about each item individually would make this review endless. The broth for all our dishes was incredibly good. Each plate came with corn, seaweed, bamboo, and other ingredients cooked to perfection. Our favorite appetizer was the Jalapeño Bomb. This dish is to die for--so flavorful and full of great taste in every bite (though it can be a bit messy). Aside from our favorite appetizer, all the dishes were really good. For many restaurants, having a good host and cook is key to success. Elena's service should be recognized and rewarded! But the main person who brings everything together is Peter! We watched Peter in the kitchen, and he was in his zone. The reason I say Peter wraps everything up is because we returned three more times, and the food was consistently flavorful each time. That's a huge plus for us. We got to meet him last night as he finished cooking, checked us out, and cleaned the remaining tables of the night. Such a humble person! I hope Yoshiharu Ramen appreciates and shows their thanks to their employees. Without Peter in the kitchen delivering great flavor in every meal, this place may not be what it is.
