I ordered the yellowtail roll and loved that they included avocado, that's something I don't usually see with this roll at other places, but it was a great addition. The spicy garlic edamame was super flavorful, and the miso soup was good as well. I just wish it had a few tofu pieces, but the flavor itself was still on point. The service was good overall, though I would have appreciated being checked on a bit more since I was hoping to get a drink refill. It's also been a while since my last visit, and I remember they used to serve watermelon slices at the end of the meal, which was such a nice touch, I didn't see that this time. Their sauces are so unique and flavorful, their portions are generous, and their specials and customer care are unmatched! We walked into the restaurant and it was very compact, and we immediately felt squished in. The restaurant seems outdated- decor wise and dinnerware. The plastic cups for drinks were a dinged yellow that made us feel like we were drinking dirty water. When we received our food, the rolls were already falling apart, and some of the fish looked spoiled, salmon specifically. There was also not much flavor in our rolls. They were bland. They have place settings on their table that suggests they are serving high quality/health conscious food. Sadly, it felt like the complete opposite. The service was decent. Waitress had a smile on her face, but hardly checked in and we were waiting and trying to locate her when drinks needed refilling and needed our check. I'm a huge sushi lover and I definitely will NOT be returning to this restaurant. read more

Have been coming to this place since 2021. Its was a great whole in the wall sushi spot. I was a regular for the past 4 year, going every week or even twice a week some months. They knew me by name. Or at least I thought they did. I would order take out, they knew the order and knew what extra sauces I wanted, without even asking. Then my daughter and I decided to eat her tonight, 12/12/25, and boy howdy.... It's the last time I eat or order from here. First, the same server that gives me my phone orders is here but doesn't recognize me.... Odd, but understandable as they see so many faces a day. Second, the seating area is small as in, my 5 year old barely fits. Third, the food I ordered, which was the bento box with beef teriyaki, sushi and sashimi, was terrible and small portioned. A small piece of "steak" that was like leather, small ass portion of rice, and only 4 pieces of sashimi and 4 pieces of sushi. I understand higher food costs, but to make a bento box order this small is ridiculous. My daughter loves her rice and edamame because you can't really fuck that up... Luckily. Suffice it to say that my family of 3 will be looking for a new sushi spot in the La Mirada area to make our regular spot. read more
