The Michelin star is well DESERVED. The ramen bowl Mazera serves is incredible. The broth does not feel heavy nor does it taste greasy/oily like we've tried at other ramen bars. I enjoyed the donkatsu rice bowl, which was flavorful and perfect portion size for 1 person. For some bites before our dinner, we ordered gyoza (a classic side) and their viral veggie croquette that we paired with the donkatsu sauce. Service was excellent and we especially loved how clean and well kept the restaurant was. We look forward to coming back for seconds!

Ordered Chashu Mazemen (this is a brothless dish) and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The ramen was a little lighter on the protein side but I didn't mind it because it was so flavorful and it didn't feel heavy. If that's a priority then you can order/pay for additional protein. I tried a little bit of the chassis mazemen and it was also very good! Staff was friendly and I would go again.

The ramen and noodle dishes here seem really special. They're chewy, flavorful, and the seasoning is so good. Everything tastes amazing.

I'm not a huge ramen person, but I have to say their Tonkotsu Ramen is pretty delicious. I wanted to try their dry mazemen bowls, but it was a cold night and I really wanted something soupy. They only have two kinds of soups on the menu: regular and spicy Tonkotsu. I like that they use skinny noodles and the broth was not thick and heavy. Spice level was perfect. The bowl was lacking protein with only two pieces of chasu, so I had to order an extra side of minced pork which was pretty good as well. Overall will come back.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and we got seated right away which was great. But you definitely need to come on the right time because the seating is limited so the wait might take some time. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which was okay. Personally, the broth was quite salty for my liking but the noodles were chewy and cooked very well. The mazemen was also delicious, my friend enjoyed it. Our server was sweet and kind. We can tell she was the only one working the floor and she did her best to attend to all the tables. Overall, would probably come again and try a different mazemen.

We were craving mazemen but didn't want to drive across town, so we decided to try Mazera in La Habra. It's a cozy spot with around ten tables and plenty of parking, which makes it an easy choice for a casual dinner. Service was prompt and friendly -- we were seated right away, given water and menus, and the waitress offered helpful recommendations. I went with the Chashu Mazemen, while the rest of my group ordered the Kimchi Mazemen. Both dishes were flavorful, rich, and surprisingly filling even before the staff brought out rice to mix with the remaining sauce. The noodles had great texture, the chashu was tender, and the flavors came together nicely without being heavy. The space itself is simple and relaxed -- nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable for a quiet dinner. Food: 4/5 - Balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. Ambiance: 4/5 - Comfortable and well-lit. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive. Overall, Mazera is a solid neighborhood spot for mazemen -- convenient, consistent, and worth returning to when the noodle craving hits.

A quaint mazemen store with limited seating in a small strip mall with limited parking. Our party was seated immediately around 1pm on a Saturday. Waitress was patient and attentive. After reading the reviews, most of us opted for the mazemen. The portions were surprisingly large, and overall the dish felt rich, but somehow the flavor was a little lacking to me. The chashu was also on the dry side, and I ended up not eating it. There was a child in our group that insisted on the traditional ramen. When he wasn't eating it, we all tried it and found that it was strangely sweet, definitely not the flavor we would expect from simmering pork bones. The side dishes were the star of the show for me, personally. Karaage was fried to perfection, cripsy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The potato croquettes were the same, and surprisingly light. If I do come back, it would just be for these.

Love trying something new, so when my friend told me about Mazemen, and didn't know what it was, I had to try it. The person helping us was super helpful explaining everything to us like what mazemen and how to pronounce it cause I forsure butchered it. I had ordered the FRIED OYSTERS, which I think is a good starters, was a good balance of umami. Then I had gotten the ORIGINAL MAZEMEN w/ an extra poached egg. But man was it good. It was ramen in a hardy stew but with the egg yolk into it, delicious. On the table there are instructions to but vinegar for a whole new flavor I didn't think it was tru but it was, whole new different flavor I think it made it better. Fairly priced.

Great service. I was expecting a line after this place was rated #6 in the nation for their ramen. I had the chashu Mazeman ramen. This is not a soupy noodle dish but more like a pasty with a ton of flavor. It reminded Umemura and Luscious Dumplings dry noodle dishes. It was like Dan Dan noodles. Very flavorful with a chewy dense noodle and unique. I can see why it ranked but I'm a traditionalist so next time, I'm trying their tonkotsu ramen.

The food is really good rather great, The noodles is chewy in a good way, and fresh tasting. The servings will really make you full. We ordered the dry ramen , we ordered 2 no. 2, 2 - no. 1 and 1- no 3. The first 2 are pork and the no. 3 is a bulgogi. The service is really good too, you know it's authentic when you see who cooks and serves the food. He knows the menu well. I always ask them( restaurants that i visit for the first time) for their personal favorite and he was able to tell us everything on the menu and of course his personal favorite. Tasting the food I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. We also ordered mochi Ice cream- it come in 2 pieces for $5- matcha and strawberry. The restaurant very quaint and clean, few sittings but we came right on time. Not very busy at the time. I highly recommend, i see why they have high rating from other yelpers.

I've now come back to this place a few times and have always enjoyed the mazemen! I always order the original mazemen and I love that it's not spicy, but still has a good amount of flavor. I introduced my friends to this restaurant as well and they also enjoyed it too! The service is always quick and attentive. I've also never had to wait for seating.

this is a new, small korean japanese mazemen shop in la habra. it has very casual vibes and the staff were friendly and attentive. its in a small strip filled with other restaurants and shops, so parking can fill up a bit but there usually will be a few spots open at any given time. Chashu Mazemen this restaurant definitely has more korean influence and i could taste it in each dish. the noodles in this mazemen were really chewy, similar to jjajangmyun noodles, and the sauce was fairly neutral and could've had some more flavor. overall it was enjoyable! Gyoza this gyoza was nicely crispy and hot and juicy inside. this also had more korean flavors and was a bit more sweet than savory to me.

5/5, vegan review included:…read more Vegans & vegetarians this one is for you!! I was shocked to discover Hanamaru served both meat eaters and the plant based crew, and could not believe my eyes when I saw they had a vegan menu on Yelp, but call me astounded when I realized that it was several PAGES long. It reminded me a little of Huntington Ramen in Fullerton, and the similarities make sense since they are sister restaurants, as noted by previous Yelpers. We visited on a Saturday night to celebrate some birthdays, and realized that they had a pretty full crowd. We waited a little to be seated, but afterwards, service was both kind and attentive. I struggled to make up my mind on what to order, because everything on the vegan menu had pictures and looked absolutely phenomenal. I wound up just asking for a recommendation for the most popular roll, and landed on the vegan volcano roll, while my friend ordered the non-vegan volcano roll. We also ordered several small plates: baked mussels for my friend, and vegan inari bomb and vegan tofu karaage for us to share. While we waited, the server brought out two crispy rice--one vegan and one not vegan for us on the house. They were simply delicious, and I will need to order that the next time I'm dining here. Everything we ordered came quickly, and tasted as good as the pictures. My friend tried one of my vegan rolls, and she said it was just as good as her non vegan rolls. They're super flavorful but manage to taste very clean and light, perhaps from the cucumbers. She might just order from the vegan menu next time too! Of the small plates, I liked the tofu karaage more, but only because the flavors on the inari bomb resembled that of the rolls I ordered. I've been to many vegan sushi places over the years, and this is one of my favorite spots, despite it being catered to both meat eaters and vegans alike. After we finished, they also served us one vegan and nonvegan ice cream on the house. While we didn't tell them we were celebrating birthdays, their extremely kind service made us feel exceptionally well taken care of. It was ~$70 after tip and I tipped higher for the great service we received, so pre-tip prices are not unreasonable. This will definitely be my go to spot for whenever I'm craving vegan sushi.

First Visit (Thursday - Essentials AYCE): We came with friends and tried a wide range of appetizers, ramen (good), and sushi, including all the limited premium selections. The shrimp tempura and dipping was very bland, and the soft-shell crab lacked crunch, but the salmon & yellowtail collars were excellent. Fish was fresh. All items were generously portioned and their generous cuts of fish was impressive. We also liked the grab-and-go drinks and desserts (though no Coke Zero). The restaurant filled up quickly after 6pm, so arriving early helped. Service by Sue was friendly and attentive. Second Visit (Friday - Signature AYCE): The Signature upgrade includes an omakase starter, unlimited bluefin tuna, plus everything on the Essentials menu. The unlimited bluefin tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and worth the $15 upgrade. We mainly focused on sushi this time - blue fin, yellow tail, limited premium (scallops were amazing) items, avocado cut rolls, and carpaccios. The shrimp tempura was bland again (strike two) but the shishito peppers were a nice surprise. Finishing with Coke Zero (yay!) and ice cream was perfect. Chelsea, our waitress, was very attentive and engaging. Overall: Fresh fish, generous cuts and portions, and the Signature AYCE upgrade make this spot a gem. They also offer fresh-frozen wasabi which is a plus for me. Not everything hits the mark (tempura!), but the variety, attentive service, and value keep us coming back. Glad to have found a local Japanese restaurant with AYCE options nearby.

Once I tried their sushi for the first time, they quickly became one of my favorites in OC. They fly their fish in every Friday and you can literally taste the freshness. Over the times I've visited, I've tried basically the whole menu but a couple in particular are my favorites. I always start off with the Blue crab appetizer that's wrapped with salmon on the outside and asparagus. Their sushi rolls are all solid here--I can't recommend the signature Chubby roll enough. And if you're feeling adventurous, they even have Tuna bone marrow shots which are actually such a nice palate cleanser! And, of course, the star of the show is the Chubby sashimi platter. Each piece is thiccc and melts in your mouth and even comes with sweet shrimp and uni. This spot is genuinely a 10/10, so if you haven't tried it, like I said, you're definitely missing out! I did not like their Agedashi Dōfu because they make it different from most places where I've had it. The tofu is supposed to be served in sauce or broth. But theirs is all dry and did not come with enough sauce or broth to dip into, so the flavor was a little off for me. The rolls are decent. Personally I think they're packed with too much rice. The Poke Salad did not have a very generous amount of sashimi compared to other sushi restaurants. The restaurant itself is kind of small so the seating space makes me feel a bit claustrophobic.

Both of our drinks tasted great and were refreshing. The Iced Green Tea also had free refills, which was nice. Next we ordered some appetizers; the Spicy Garlic Edamame (our usual) and the King Crab Bites (to try something new). The Spicy Garlic Edamame was tasty as usual and had a nice kick. My husband wasn't a fan of the King Crab Bites because he thought they could've used more flavor and the texture was off. Lastly, we ordered our entrees; I tried something new and ordered the Pork Curry Katsu while my husband had the Pork Cutlet Ramen (mild spice level). The Pork Curry Katsu was delicious, complex, and full of flavor. The pork katsu was crispy and cooked to perfection, which complemented the curry and rice. My husband enjoyed his Pork Cutlet Ramen as well. His only issue was that it could've used a bit more salt. It is pricey here, but they do give generous entree portions. We were very full and had some leftovers to take home for later. We had a few different servers, and they were all polite and helpful. Our food was brought out quickly, which was also great. The only issue is that the service was a bit spotty and we weren't checked on very often to see if we needed anything (for example, I didn't get any refills). It wasn't too busy either, so I'm not sure why this was the case. The interior was clean and had a casual, slightly lively atmosphere. They have blend of modern and traditional Japanese decor, which gives off a comfy/modern dining experience. There's a decent amount of seating, and you have the option of sitting at the bar or a table. Both options put you in close proximity to other diners, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. They also had different mix of music genres playing in the background. Overall we had a decent experience and plan on stopping by again soon!
