Our visit got off to a bit of a confusing start. The restaurant was only about a quarter full, yet we were told there would be a 15-minute wait for either a table or seats at the bar. But the bar was empty, and the table we were hoping for just needed to be cleared. Instead, we were asked to put our name and number on the waitlist and wait outside until they called us back. It seemed a little unnecessary, and it was super hot outside, but we went along with it. About 15 minutes later, we were seated and finally able to order. Thankfully, the food ended up being the highlight of the visit. The miso soup was quite good and wasn't overly salty like it can be at some sushi restaurants. The sushi was fresh and well prepared. I especially enjoyed the Naruto Roll, which was wrapped in cucumber without rice and had a beautiful presentation. It was light, refreshing, and full of flavor. My BF ordered a Poke Bowl, and that was also a winner. I was pleasantly surprised that they let you customize what goes into the bowl. That's something I usually only see at fast-casual poke shops, not traditional sit-down sushi restaurants. I also love the Spicy Garlic edamame. From Monday to Thursday, they have a special where you can order three rolls (from classic, special, baked lists) for only $39.99. Some of the rolls are $16.95 each so this is a truly great deal. Tonight, my hubby and I tried the baked shrimp roll, killer hamachi roll and seared ahi tuna roll. The rolls were so big that I could not fit one in my mouth in one go as I could in other sushi restaurants. The fish is so fresh with an umami flavor. It is just so delightful to dine here. This is one of those places that should be gatekept but I won't do that. Don't let the name fool you but this is a quality sushi place that can only seat about 20 people at a time. I've not (but will be back) to try many more items here but everything we had was fresh and made with a lot of details to attention. And, You can get real wasabi (add $3 a portion and worth it). The seared special rolls like yellowtail and salmon are top notch and such great value with the Tuesday- Thursday roll deal. You can get 3 rolls for $40! I understand the 5-star reviews- this place is solid. I was satisfied with everything we ordered. Every roll was fresh and flavorful and delicious. The servers were very friendly and accommodating, even when we stayed to chat for a while. They even brought us a complimentary yellowtail sashimi, which was sooooo good. It's definitely small inside, but we didn't have to wait for too long on a sunday afternoon for a party of 4. I'm not sure if you'd be able to sit with more than 4 in there though. Sushi is one of my favorite foods, and with my birthday coming up, I decided it was finally time to enjoy a cake I'd actually be excited about since I'm not much of a sweet tooth. I called almost a month in advance to preorder. I was willing to make a 4-hour trip to pick up the cake! I even brought an ice chest and everything lol. When I got to the restaurant, I was greeted warmly. The staff were kind from beginning to end. The sushi cake was absolutely perfect. It had toro, salmon belly, mango slices, cucumber, salmon, and tuna on the outside, with some pieces of salmon cut roll for decor. On the inside there was avocado, spicy tuna, crab, and rice. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. It was worth the drive. I enjoyed every bite and can finally cross sushi cake off my bucket list. :D read more

11/28/25 - Went here for our anniversary to do the 12 course Omakase! It was $75 per person for 12 courses. Lots of courses had multiple pieces so we actually ate more than 20 items throughout the meal (see course breakdown below). Chef Jeff prepared every dish in front of us and every thing we ate was delicious and high quality! My favorite out of everything in the omakase was the red snapper nigiri, which had a peppery taste to it. We noticed that they had a good amount of regulars come in and that the owners knew most of them and would take some time to talk and catch up with them. We made a reservation for the omakase and were seated at the bar. The inside is small and can get filled up quickly so I would recommend making a reservation even for casual dining, especially during peak meal times. We arrived at 3:30 pm and were warmly greeted by our server and sushi chef Jeff. We ordered their three roll special and by the end of it, we were stuffed. In the meantime, we engaged in a fun and funny conversation with chef Jeff. He told us about his time in Korea's military patrolling the zone between North and South Korea. Came here based on the reviews since my normal poke spot was closed already. This place did not disappoint!! The poke bowl was simple but extremely delicious. I ordered mine with white rice, salmon, tuna, crabmeat, red onion, cucumber salad, cilantro, jalapeños. The fish quality was top tier. The sauces they put in it, I'm thinking from the cucumber salad was absolutely savory. The La Habra Roll was very good as well. Big salmon pieces on basically a crunch roll. It is SO cute inside with a bunch of random knick knacks that somehow all fit together - from the rows of small wooden houses (I'm sure there is a story behind this) to the very cute mural.
