This has become one of my go-to spots, especially when I want something comforting after a long night. I usually come here for ramen, but what makes this place work really well for us is that my girlfriend isn't a big ramen person, and their sushi and rolls are actually good too. So it ends up being one of those rare places where both of us are happy with what we order. For ramen, I've tried the Black Garlic Tonkotsu and the Spicy Kimchi Tonkotsu. Both were good, but personally, I think their spicy ramen is the stronger choice. The Spicy Kimchi Tonkotsu is perfect when I want something warm, comforting, and a little spicy. It's not overwhelmingly hot, the broth has good depth, and the toppings feel generous. My girlfriend usually gets the Yummy Tummy, which is a salmon roll, and I've stolen enough bites to say it's legitimately good. The salmon tastes fresh, the ingredients are well-balanced, and the roll is seasoned nicely without being too heavy. At first, this was just a convenient neighborhood ramen and roll spot near my girlfriend's place. But after coming back multiple times, I realized I actually crave this place. It may not look like some flashy destination restaurant, but it's a genuinely good neighborhood spot that keeps me coming back. 5 stars from me. One thing I'll add is that my girlfriend has ordered delivery from here a few times, and she says it's not nearly as good as dining in. The food tastes much better when you eat it at the restaurant, and she also feels like the portions seem smaller with delivery. So if you're trying this place for the first time, I'd recommend eating there instead of ordering delivery.

Good food and fast service. Only thing that bothered me were the older couple next to us. The guy had TV playing on his phone like the whole restaurant needed to hear it. People need to learn some etiquette in restaurants. It's one thing to ignore your wife and watch TV on your phone while dining out, but then have to subject the other patrons around you to have to listen to the nonsense. The vegan ramen with tempura combo is good for vegetarians. I requested all veggies for the tempura. Pricing is ridiculous of course, but it's the same price as all other ramen restaurants. Deducting star because of my overall experience.

Located near stereoscope. We had good service for chashu ramen set that came with nigri 4 pieces +2 and mackerel set that comes with soup spicy roll and also tempura. You can get the black garlic ramen for a more garlic infused ramen. Overall it was a good lunch spot and would come back again. Pay in cash to get a small ice cream

Looking for a cold noodle soba spot and this came up in Yelp recommendations. There was one waitress handling the whole place, she was very busy taking orders and delivering dishes, drinks, as well as handling takeout orders. In the same plaza as a coffee shop & katsu restaurant, so parking was busy. I got the sashimi salad, quite large, enough to share or take home for a later meal. We also got edamame, and I added some to my salad. My companion got the cold soba noodles with tempura (shrimp plus vegetables. Very busy location, and food was a bit slow coming out. Paying with cash gets you a scoop of ice cream. Location is a bit out of my way for the very average food quality. Fast casual spot, many office workers and students on spring break having lunch.

Came here on a Sunday around 6:30 and it was busy! Fortunately, there were just enough open tables for my boyfriend and I to be seated. Before we even ordered, we were asked to move to a 2-person table when a bigger group came in. Our waiter was so so kind, helpful and friendly (unfortunately, we didn't get his name but he's a young, tall Asian man with glasses) and even gave us free drinks because we moved. I got a Salmon Teriyaki bento box for $19. In my opinion, this is a great deal, especially because I was able to eat it over 2 meals. It comes with miso soup, salad, 4 California roll pieces, mixed tempura and teriyaki salmon over rice. Everything was done well and it was filling, without being heavy. I also don't eat shrimp so I was able to substitute the shrimp tempura for more vegetables. The standouts of the bento box were the tempura: great veggies with a crisp batter, and the salmon teriyaki: it was a good portion, grilled well, and flavorful, especially with the added flavor of green onions on top. The salad and veggies in the roll were fresh but standard, as was everything else! The miso soup was a little too salty. Because they were busy, it did take a little while for food to come out, but it wasn't an unreasonable time. Again, shoutout to our waiter and a big thanks to him for being very careful regarding food allergies!

Went here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy but we were seated right away. I got the Vegetable Ramen with Miso broth and an order of Cucumber Rolls. The vegetable ramen was tasty and they gave a good quantity of vegetables! The miso broth was also pretty flavorful. The cucumber rolls were also very tasty and held together well. We tried the matcha lemonade which was also pretty good but in my opinion, the lemonade overpowered the matcha so I couldn't taste much of the matcha. The staff here is also very friendly and constantly checking in which is nice. They were extra careful with the food allergies that I have which I appreciate a lot.

Recently had lunch as a first-timer, and I enjoyed my meal. I've been eyeing this place for awhile, thanks to social media. The menu offers plenty of tasty options, from ramen to sushi rolls, udon, soba, rice bowls, and more. Vegetarian options are also available. I ordered the Spicy Ramen along with a couple of pieces of nigiri sushi. The Spicy Ramen has a flavorful pork-and-chicken broth that's not too heavy, and the spice level is medium. Ask for more spice if you like the heat. The pork chashu was thin, but very tender and tasty with a bit of melt-in-your-mouth fat still. I also ordered yellowtail sushi and seared peppered salmon sushi. Both cuts were delicious and prepared well. The staff was kind and attentive. The dining area is spacious with plenty of tables and is kept clean. Some pleasant-looking decor as well. Parking can be tricky as the plaza has other popular businesses, and the lot can fill up fast. Can't wait to try more of the menu soon.

Chashu Ramen + Tempura on top and Miso Ramen + Chashu set on bottom.

I ordered the Miso Ramen + Chashu set, and my husband got the Chashu Ramen + Tempura set. The moment I sat down, I could tell the restaurant was Korean-owned (I'm Korean, so the flavor profile was instantly familiar) -- the ramen definitely had a different style than a traditional Japanese-owned shop, but still enjoyable in its own way. The ramen itself was decent, and the broth felt lighter compared to the richer, heavier styles I'm used to. The flavor was still bold and full of flavor. The Chashu bowl was surprisingly large and used thick-cut pork similar to bossam. Personally, I was expecting a thinner cut so I didn't love it, but my husband thought it was great. The tempura, however, was absolute perfection -- crispy, light, and definitely a highlight. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, a solid spot with a Korean twist on ramen, and worth trying if you're in the area!

Came here for some ramen because I was in the area and needed some soup because I was feeling under the weather. Found it on yelp. Parking was easy and its located off a busy intersection. Parking was pretty easy. The inside was simple yet clean and they were quite busy for a Thursday night with roughly 10 table tops and two servers. This place had to be legit. I was not disappointed and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get an add on nigiri to my Ramen. Nigiri was pretty fresh and the ramen was delicious! Will def come back.

What I couldn't finish, the April special with 4 rolls.

Great food!!!! Excellent ramen and sushi. Awesome service as well, staff was amazing just as the food. Also ordered rainbow roll and tempura. Both excellent, had to take my ramen home . The size was very big bowls, perfect if that's all you want.

Stopped by to give this place a try and got seated immediately once inside. The restaurant is cozy and on the smaller side, but the vibe is nice. Our server was super friendly -- really welcoming and made the experience feel comfortable right away. I ordered a Chashu Ramen bowl and a California Roll. The sushi was the standout -- super fresh and flavorful, easily a 9/10. The ramen was decent; the broth had great flavor, but overall it felt like it was missing just a little something to really stand out. Still a solid bowl. Overall, this is a nice, cozy ramen-and-sushi spot tucked inside the plaza. Worth stopping by if you're in the area and want something quick, friendly, and satisfying.

5/5 - amazing service and delicious food here! i have never been disappointed. i recommended my friend and his family to come here one day after our game night and it was a huge group of us. we were seated right away and our server was so sweet. there's plenty of seating but i can see it getting full quick. i love the interior and i think the manga and poster collages are such a nice touch! i ended up getting the Ninja roll this time (not my usual) and it was so good. super filling with the 8 rolls. you can tell that the chefs care about presentation and have their sushi coming out delicious. super flavorful and fresh. my friend got hoedeopbap bowl which i don't have pictured but it was SO tasty. i loved the assorted salad, it had so many greens in it and fresh cuts of fish. it came with this spicy sauce on the side that was REALLY good. i would definitely come back just for that. soooo delicious and filling but not to the point where your stomach feels tight. such a great meal omg

Ask the Community - Giant Ramen & Sushi

Is there actually giant-size sushi here?

    No, Giant means giant price.

As of recently Covid stat improvements in March 2021, are they seating people inside again?

Is there a citrus type of sushi?

Hello! The BTS roll (mild spicy) and Yummy Yummy roll both have sliced lemon on them which makes them zesty and citrusy. They are two of our most-loved menu items. -Helen

Restaurant quality just hasn't been the same, but that is not the case here. Over the years their team has continued to offer delicious food and a nice casual dining experience. The store is small and cozy, so not great for parties larger than 4, though I'd really just suggest 2. Great for lunch or a low key dinner, it is one of my go-to for ramen spots. I really love their white miso tsukemen, the thick noodles are slightly chilled and served with a wedge of lime which is a nice way to lighten the very rich broth. I've had their red miso before but its deeper flavor is a bit too powerful for my taste, so for those who like something with more umph, that's a great choice as well.

The interior is very small, maybe 16-20 seats total. For food, we ordered the gyoza 2/5, spicy white miso 3.5/5, and spicy red miso 4/5. The gyoza was disappointing since it was reheated and still tasted cold in the middle. Both ramen were filled to the brim with rich, flavorful broth. The white miso broth was slightly less thick and rich than the red miso. The noodles were chewy, and the Tao spice had a nice kick. Unfortunately, there was no AC running so we got pretty hot and uncomfortable during our meal. They also charged us for an extra drink that we didn't order. Sadly, this spot did not live up to expectations and will not return.

We would drive here every other year for their delicious fried tofu appetizer and other fresh and hot items. It was a wonderful experience and a great intro to Japanese cuisine. However, the quality and control have gone down as another reviewer has mentioned. Will be our last time. 1. Food was a bit salty for both ramens bowls. They ran out of the lobster tail and the ribs bowls, which is fine on Valentine's Day. However, they also ran out of basic ingredients. Where are the 2 egg slices, and where are the other fresh garnishes (mushroom or bean sprouts). One of the saddest looking and basic ramen bowls that I've ever experienced, one level above instant ramen (just the pork and excess noodles). Speaking of pork slices, they need to be less firm and softer. They also ran out of wooden spoons. How? We ate with take-out chopsticks with no available plastic spoons. Who is running this branch? 2. Service was standard. 3. Ambiance has nicely decorated theme. However, restaurant and seating area is small and crosse crossed and lacks privacy. You can hear the next table conversation. Would not care so much if the food were excellent. Not worth the tag.

As I was about to place my order at the kiosk, an employee informed me that only takeout orders were being accepted and that dine-in was no longer available. I was told this was due to a policy change from management. What I don't understand is that there was no notice posted anywhere about a dine-in cutoff time. Maybe this is normal for this restaurant, but it is not what most customers would expect. When a restaurant posts a break time of 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, most people assume that orders are accepted until 2:00 PM and that the break time begins at 2:00 PM. That has been my experience at most other restaurants. If dine-in service actually stops at 1:45 PM, then that information should be clearly posted at the entrance, on the kiosk, and online. Otherwise, customers may arrive before the posted break time and still be turned away for dine-in service. In my opinion, if customers need to finish their meals before 2:00 PM, then the restaurant should either post a dine-in cutoff time or list an earlier break time. Other restaurants with a 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM break time typically allow customers to enter and order before 2:00 PM. This appears to be an exception. I made a special trip to eat here and was disappointed by the lack of communication. Going forward, customers should know that a posted break time of 2:00 PM here may effectively mean you need to arrive early enough to finish your meal before 2:00 PM, not simply arrive before 2:00 PM. Because of this experience, I will think twice before returning during lunch hours.
