They take careful control of every part of the production process, and turn out a very good product. My almond milk latte was excellent.

Being from the East Coast, having a chance to enjoy the West Coast vibe with a cup of coffee is always a bonus! Worth a stop. The coffee is fantastic! The service was incredible. There was a medium latte sitting on the counter and no one seemed to be claiming it. About 5 minutes had past when a women walks over and asks if it's hers. Both the baristas said "that's been sitting there for awhile". She said "ugh, the post office took f**king forever." The barista immediately offered to remake her coffee. Wow, so nice! read more

My 1st time here after hearing positive reviews from friends. All male staff! The crew is pleasant, efficient, helpful, and friendly. The establishment is clean & organized, open & airy. Whenever I need a pick-me-up, Handlebar is the go to coffee stop. Opened just over a year ago and has already impacted the coffee drinking community with their great fresh blends, teas, pastries, and customer service. The two owners are some of the nicest two people I have ever met, and they are always friendly as ever. read more

Super nice staff, great location with bountiful outside seating. The coffee and expresso based drinks are very good, the selection of pastries is good. Prices are rather high, but it's worth it. Atmosphere is great if you want to hang out or get work done. A nice feature is if you get coffee to stay, 1 free refill and then refill for 50 cents, but I have yet to need that third cup- 2 are enough for a day :) read more

This place had really interesting coffee that tasted very unique - and their drip/pour over coffee was not watery and diluted. The only place in town that uses ORGANIC MILK! I love you guys!! Thank you for raising the "bar" I drive from Goleta to get coffee here. Roasted on the premises so the aroma hits you like a warm blanket when you walk through the door. The people there are all lovely and they make your drink with care. I can't say enough! Some of the best espresso and coffee I have had in SB. Right up there with The French Press if not better. The espresso here is definitely better imho...but I would need more time with their coffee to make that call. Roasted in house, local...what more can you ask for :) read more

l love handlebar coffee. i drive to SB from LA once a week for work and making it to handlebar is always something i look forward to. the entire staff is super friendly, the owners are there every day with a smile on their faces, and the coffee & pastries are outstanding. their bagged coffee is better than LA's shops' so i don't even bother anymore. the espresso is perfect through an aeropress. keep up the good work, handlebar! so glad i don't have to go to starbucks anymore. read more

Delicious, smooth, European-style lattes, Perfect mochas made with organic coco, incredible vanilla and soy lattes. Love the alley-way sitting across from the Presidio. I love their coffee and the atmosphere is really nice. My only wish is that they had larger coffee cups so I didn't have to refill so often; I LOVE big coffee cups or even heavy pint glasses for coffee. Stopped for caffeine pit stop going north and then again going south. Enjoyed the Gibraltar espresso roast while we camped. Great service, delicious pastries and the best Gibraltar we have ever had. Beats Blue Bottle or Intelligentsia for richness and skilled drink making. Went out of our way today to satisfy our craving. Please consider opening a location in Tucson! read more
