    Banana slice drink

Great vibe and esthetic! Delicious drinks! I had the banana slice drink. The only negative IMO is that it was really loud inside and can't have a conversation with your party. It was my first visit. I love downtown Mount Dora and will definitely be back to handlebar. The wallpaper reminded me of the pink hotel in Palm Beach, very classy and cool.

We came in with a huge group post a wedding... the hospitality never missed a beat though! Such a cool bar. Check, Dakota, and Jesse are the most welcoming bartenders and know how to make a darn good drink. You'd be making a mistake if you didn't drop in to see them while you're in Mount Dora.

This place was a gem of a find. Very eclectic. Nick our bartender and his partner were amazing. Drinks were all on point and the creativity on how they made them along with the performance was just right. Would definitely be returning. I loved the ambiance of it all.

I'd come back here any time of the week! Slightly hidden upstairs with a narrow staircase, you find this open cocktail bar with a view of the cute streets of Mount Dora. Seating is limited and this place seems to get packed fast once the sun goes down. Their craft cocktails are strong and taste delicious. Glad to know they were able to make my favorite Army Navy here. The bartenders are so friendly and they cater to your table once you start a tab. Can't wait to come back!

What a find! Almost like a speakeasy in downtown Mt. Dora. Great ambience. Great drink list. Great vibe. Check the hours and head on over. It's a great day weekend day drinking place. They can also turn most drinks into mocktails.

Super bookstore/coffee shop vibe I guess I need 85 characters to post this, so everyone was nice and chill, bartenders and drinks were great!

This place was super cool! I loved the location, upstairs above the market. Inside wasn't too big, they have some couches and tables. It was very busy when we arrived on a Saturday night about 9 PM. No seats available, but people did get up at the bar which had about 10-12 seats. Ordered the Saturn and the bees knees. Their menu is full of tons of classic cocktails. They bartenders know what they are doing! The drinks were delicious and the wait was not long. Prices were fine and not overly expensive. I would come back when I visit Mt Dora again!

Wow! I LOVED the HandleBar lounge! The atmosphere was perfect, seating comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, and the drinks were perfection! I told the bartender the types of drinks I enjoyed and he came back with a perfectly made cocktail I'd never had before. It was so good I am planning on making it my signature drink at our wedding! Definitely give this place a try!

This is my second time coming here and my favorite bartender was at the bar! I love the monkey wallpaper and the overall seventies feel; very cozy. They've added Halloween decorations so they're spiders and spooky things! I had the Bees knees cocktail made by Jesse and my boyfriend Zachary had the Mai Tai. Definitely a very good vibe!!

A quaint little town northwest of Orlando…read more There's shopping, some nice little restaurants, and a big ol' lake that you can rent a catboat on and drive it around. That's what we did that morning. Ambiance was great. It felt like each little dining area was a different room in a big, semi-haunted mansion. Eclectic books and paintings and mirrors and other baubles adorned much of the walls, making for plenty of looking around time during you meal. Very fun. Service was really good. The pacing of the meal was great, and our server was very friendly. We were always with drink, and she knew the menu backwards and forwards, even the special dishes of the night. As for the food, we went whole hog with two apps, two mains, and a dessert to share. Out of everything we ordered, only one of them remains on the current menu, which is a great sign. I love a rotating, seasonal menu. It shows effort, and it definitely encourages return patronage. We started with the Ciabatta Board (toasted ciabatta, house butter made with sun dried tomato, roasted red pepper, parmesan, garlic, chive). This was nice. It was very sun dried tomato, so if you don't like them, don't get this. But very soft, toasty bread made this very lovely. We also got an escargot app which was very creamy and soup-like. The snails were complimented well by the spinach. And the whole thing came with a nice little breadstick. I saved some of the bread from the board for some sopping. Pro move. For our mains, we got a miso butter New York strip and some sort of Asian themed duck. For both mains, the proteins were cooked very very well, and the portion sizes were a good size compared to what I was expecting. Both sets of taters were good. The mash was very smooth and creamy, the roasted baby potatoes were cooked all the way through and were nice and naturally buttery. Both were served with a seasonal veg mix that was pretty ok. It rounded out the plate, but it won't change your world or anything. We finished off with one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had. Incredibly smooth with the perfect cheesecake density, the perfect amount of chocolate chips inside, and a nice little crust that added that little bit of texture that is needed from the crust. Overall, quite a meal! To survive in a small town with these prices and those quality ingredientes and that unique of a menu design is very impressive. I will certainly be back.

Cons: Not a single con. A great little visit. Tips: The menu has completely changed since we went, which is good, so I can't recommend any specific dishes. Asked for a water immediately, and set my things down before going to the restroom... which was clean, easy to find, and well stocked, so zero issues there! Hehehe..... When I returned, I had a water and the bar menu as well as the lunch menu waiting for me. I ended up getting the Crooked Can/Frog and Monkey collaboration IPA, which was lovely. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich, because reading it on the menu outside was what had originally drawn me into the restaurant, and a cup of the French Onion soup rather than getting the fries that came with. The soup was up first, and it was delightful- nice, hardy chunks of onion without being too big/sliding off my spoon, a well developed broth, and a fantastic amount of cheese. The sandwich was lovely, great slices of turkey and decently sized pieces of brie and apple to go along with it. Unfortunately, when I went to get the second half of my sandwich, I noticed what looked like a dark beard hair on it.... as I was dining alone, and my long hair was tied up, definitely not mine. I called over my server, and I pointed it out to her... she asked if I wanted to have a new sammie or get it taken off the bill. I asked if I could pay for the soup, since I had finished it, but not the sammie and she absolutely agreed to that. I wrapped up my meal and left to keep going on my day. Everywhere has issues occasionally, but this was handled well, so I will mention it, and I do knock off a star for this visit, but I am still willing to try again if I am in the area.

It was a shareable pulled pork app. Everything was lovely and everyone around was so friendly. The one thing that was an issue was the A/C. They had wall units but possibly everytime the door opened the heat came in so it was a bit warm inside. This was such a fun experience nonetheless. People even dressed up for this.
