I've been there several times, las tine was five months ago. I had the total package, everything was great, my massage and facial. Do not do a soak in the whirlpool. It looked dirty, wasn't sure if it was film or bubbles in the water. HOT extremely hot water. I didn't bother sitting in the tub from what I saw. First time for me to visit Hands on Therapy. I went in out of desperation had a horrible knot in my shoulder blade and neck. I have a chiropractor but this didn't seem like a problem that adjusting my bones was going to help. Josie did a fantastic job ! I was hoping for a little relief but when we were done the problem was completely gone and did not return. I have always loved this place, way cheaper than Spa Envy and the quality of service is just as good, if honestly, not better. Liz has the hands of a goddess. I have a heel spur, I can barely walk most days. Liz worked hard to ease my pain, when I left, it was the first time I walked in months with no pain. I know it won't last, but maybe some more sessions with Liz, and it will. Savannah worked on my husband and he says all of his tension spots feel such relief. We definitely reccomend these 2 women, 100% All of the staff here is amazing. Very professional and all very well trained. This is why my husband and I keep going back. read more

I have been here before and always had great service but today I'm more than a little disappointed and left with tears of frustration. I paid for an 80 minute massage and only received a 50 minute one. I was treating myself as I sorely needed it, and then it got messed up because the receptionist made a mistake. We're human and all make mistakes but it can still be very frustrating. Especially when the receptionist tells me "she's stressed out." I was offered a credit on my next visit but I opted for a refund of the difference. However, what I would really like is my additional 30 minutes. read more

If you want to learn how to apply lotion to someone- then you should defiantly attend this school! Awful staff, terrible conditions for students. Air leaks freely through doors which means in winter you will be dressing indoors for the outdoor weather and sometimes massaging in 60 degree classrooms. DO NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE- go to this "salon"! This place is so horrible! They would not turn the heat on AT ALL!! It was 60 degrees in the treatment rooms! No exaggeration!!! The hot tub "soak" was room temp at most! Students are nice, but are given NO GUIDANCE during treatment. She draped dripping towels around my face without regard for my hair. She left areas uncovered (in the freezing room) that she wasn't currently working on during my massage. So I repeat..DO NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE- go to this "salon"! *Response to comment: I asked the front office to raise the temperature. I was told her "boss had but a lockbox on the thermostat because he didn't want the interns messing with it". Completely unacceptable. Also I might review the practice of solo massages. She was a sweet girl, but that could leave some I'm iffy situations. Also, how can she learn standard practice if instructors aren't there to correct them. It bothers me to see bad reviews for this business. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. Remember it is a school. You may have to try different people to find one that suits your massage style. I have had a few misses, not horrible just not what I wanted. However, once you find the correct person, it is great. I have learned to get a recommendation from a therapist that is graduating for someone that would suit me continuing on. This has worked well for me. Even branched out and got a facial as well. Nice to be pampered. Almost hate to give out her name but I have been seeing Paige recently and she is great. read more

As a past student, I personally love this school! Coming from a school that didn't have any personal, really any support in general- HOTs is amazing. I had an amazing instructor, the other course has amazing instructors as well! I will always recommend this school over any other, the whole team has been caring & actually want students, clients to always leave happy. I have used the massage service of Hands On Therapy for about 17 years now and the last few months I have been repeatedly disappointed in them. I can't get in most of the time due to no openings. Or I schedule and then when I get there for my appointment I'm told "they don't have me down"!! Has anything changed there except for that last receptionist that was always there? I rearranged my schedule twice now only to be turned away! The service has gone way down. Most of the time you can't even get anyone to answer the phone. read more

I have gone to the massage school several times for massages. I went today as they had a special on Intern Massages. 50 min for 30.00. Sometimes with these specials you get a hit or miss with the experience of the massage tech. However, today was a total HIT! I have been in much need of a massage for weeks now. When I saw this deal, I could not refuse. My tech's name was Michael. I was unsure of the exact service I wanted because my back hurt me most. He heard me out and came up with a solution that allowed me to get the full body massage with just more time going toward my back area. I was delighted that he helped me figure that out and not seem unsure or aloof! Lol. He was extremely polite and very very good at the massaging. Usually some men forget their strength and I have left massage places in more pain than when I came. However, Michael had a way of getting all of my knots and kinks out without hurting me. He hit every area of my back and neck that was absolutely killing me before and I felt so much better! By the time the massage was over, I could hardly get off of the table because I was so relaxed!!! Lol! He was very much a professional. He asked questions during the massage about pressure and avail areas. He seems well advanced for an intern and I would happily return for another massage. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and professional. I can't say that all of my massages have been great during my many years of going there but I can say this was by far the best one! I see that other services have now been added like facials, waxing, lash extensions etc. I plan to try those services soon as well. I feel so much better now and I'm not sore! Although it is pouring raining today...I'm glad I didn't cancel my massage. The experience was very well worth it! I recommend this massage school for their deals, the professional treatment and obviously they are training their students very wellbecause most techs are great no matter what level they are. Hands on Therapy is the BEST KEPT SECRET IN MESQUITE!! I have been going here long before "The Spa" opened up but they have always done massages at cheaper rates as they are typically students that are learning. Last night i received one of the best massages of my life from Advanced Intern Jose. Taught me new trigger points to help deal with my stress. After an amazing 80 min massage I could barely keep my eyes open and have NEVER felt so relaxed. He listened to my needs and worked with my needs in regards to different pressure. What a great find! This spa is within one of the largest massage schools, offering intern massages with students that are studying advanced massage therapy. I think it's great to have a discounted priced massage with therapists that are learning the newest of techniques. Understanding it was a school and student massages, I did not expect that it would be a setup as a real spa. Plus I had the choice of getting a licensed therapist massage with INSTRUCTORS! Even the licensed instructor massage was priced lower than what I usually pay. The student therapist I had was very good and caring about how my massage was going. I suffer from tension in neck and upper back and he paid special care to that area and gave me recommendations on how I could help relax this area at home. I wholly recommend this spa! read more
