The past few years with my aging sheltie have shown me the delicate balance of veterinary care as both a business and as a partnership: I appreciate the up-front estimates and range of services or treatments for my dog, and I appreciate that they were willing to have meaningful conversations about quality of life, cost of care and cost-benefit analyses of each path. In the end, they were supportive of palliative care for pain, and were so kind, patient and supportive through the hardest day of my life with Neville: making the decision to end his pain and confusion even as he continued to wag his sweet tail and support me in my grief. I'll continue to bring my other shelties here, and I'll continue to work within our family budget and I know that QAAC will work with me to find the best path for caring for my beloved pets.

Eastlake Veterinary hospital did a great job examining my sweet, sensitive pup, "Sessi" or…read more"Sesame". She is a gentle mix breed that was rehomed to me and love and light of my life. I was offered solutions to problems I couldn't handle on my own, including nail trims (on our primary visit - which they tried but couldn't complete), mental health evals and suggestions for meds if she wouldn't learn to take walks and a great visit that included her weight treatment plan, mental health plan, dental care (going forward). The Veterinarian who examined my dog was gentle, thorough and listened to all of my concerns with deep care for my best friend. I will continue to take Sessi/Sesame to Eastlake Veterinary Hospital. They are thorough, treat the animal with respect and the human being. Since our visit, Sessi has learned to relax in her new home, is closer with me (her owner) and is learning to enjoy walks without the help of meds - on her terms :). Her anxiety's dropped, she appears healthier, more content, confident and happy in her small place. It was nice to speak to another experienced rescuer who understands dogs who have a hard time going out.

Play allows her to enjoy some quality human and fellow pup time while I'm working long days. I bring home a happy and thoroughly worn-out furbaby every time. Indoor and outdoor space with plenty of shade in the summer, cover in the rain, and heaters in the winter means that pups are comfortable no matter the elements. The staff here are incredible. They get to know you and your dog to a level I've never experienced at a dog daycare. You are part of a family rather than a business, and that's a beautiful thing. I cannot recommend them enough and my dog and I feel blessed to be part of the pack!

I don't know where they find their staff, but they are the nicest, friendliest and most caring team EVER. They are incredibly flexible with changes, and with a little notice will accommodate all your daycare needs. I feel that a good test of whether a dog is happy, is if you pick them up after boarding, and return just a couple days later for daycare. If the pup nearly rips your arm off, in his eagerness to get back in there, I think you have a winner.

Before any services were rendered, a tech would show prices on a screen so there was transparency. Similar to many things on the west coast, it can be pricey but really not any different from other local downtown vets. There is also the option to find certain products on Amazon, Chewy, etc and sometimes even recommended by staff to save clients some money. All staff is very friendly and truly seem to love their job and the animals they care for. Around holidays, pets usually get a cute bandana tied on them to match the theme. This location does dispense some meds. Others meds will need a prescription to take to a local pharmacy. The caveat is that the vet will only do a physical hardcopy of a prescription, which is kind of a downfall if you're trying to get something fast. I eventually had to make the decision for my Beau to cross the rainbow bridge. It was a very hard time for us, but the staff was so unbelievably caring. The doctor on staff that day even got on the floor and cried with me and was really supporting; this really stuck out to me. A few weeks later, we even got a signed card from everyone on staff, which was really heartwarming. Overall, a really great place to take your pet. There's free on-site parking, which is even better when you're trying to load and unload a pet. They're a super friendly and caring staff. Check it out!

I am writing this review to share my concerns regarding the medical accuracy, communication, and…read moreindividualized attention received during our recent visit. (this review is not about the Dr Love in other reviews). I had explained that I was already consulting with a remote veterinarian and was seeking an in-person physical exam, but this did not seem to be taken into consideration. Prior to the appointment, complete medical records were submitted, but they were clearly not reviewed beforehand. During the consultation, the veterinarian had to ask an assistant to search the records for one value from the previous blood tests. Upcoming routine vaccinations were therefore entirely unmentioned. However, an anti-nausea injection was proactively offered despite my clear explanation that my pet was behaving normally and maintaining a good appetite. Altogether, this made me question whether the purpose of the visit and my pet's current clinical status were actually being taken into consideration. Furthermore, I found some of the communication unprofessional; describing healthy blood-test results as "boring" was disheartening. My primary concern lies in the documented medical report. The report was titled with a specific disease that had never been diagnosed. When questioned, the clinic explained that a "template" had been used. More concerningly, this template claimed that the "vast majority" of cases with this symptom have an underlying disease, citing a specific research paper. Upon reviewing the cited study myself, I found that the study population was highly selected, and including other clinical symptoms, and most importantly the study population additional diagnostic findings and underwent an invasive diagnostic procedure. Although the study included cases presenting with my case alone, the results were not reported separately for that subgroup. The authors themselves explicitly acknowledged that they did not know how often underlying disease was present with the clinical symptoms without the additional diagnostic findings used to select the study population. It is therefore scientifically inappropriate to generalize findings from this selected study population with a specific diagnostic procedure findings to cases based on the symptoms frequency alone. The cited paper does not support this generalization, making the statement scientifically inaccurate rather than simply overstated. Overgeneralizing from insufficiently applicable evidence and then stating that underlying disease was "the most likely reason" for the history felt less like a simple overstatement and more like medical misinformation. However, the vet did not mention anything about that diagnostic procedure and instead mentioned more expensive procedure. In addition, the veterinarian stated that food intolerance does not occur with carbohydrates and occurs only with proteins. This raised further concerns about the accuracy of the medical information being provided. Overall, I was not confident that my pet's individual case was being adequately considered, particularly given that his medical records did not appear to have been reviewed beforehand. I also came away uncertain about the accuracy of some of the medical information I received. Given the reliance on a template, the questionable application of cited literature, potentially inaccurate medical explanations, and some unprofessional communication, I lost confidence in the medical recommendations and communication of this clinic.

The professional ineptitude and desultory attitude of Dr. Stuart Spencer was nothing short of remarkable. (1) He took a five-second look--I am unable to use the word "analysis"--of my cat's nose and then laconically--I detected a yawn of complacency mixed with boredom--and solemnly declared that "he [not Dr. Spencer] has a precancerous lesion.*" Without missing a beat, he turned what had been a rather less than enlightening medical examination to the subject of surgery [removal of the supposed lesion] and how it, in terms of logistics and cost, would proceed. (2) I will not go into the ethical implications of a veterinarian refusing to see the dying cat of a client. [Whatever reservations we had had about his clinic had, all along, been kept to ourselves]. Nor recount the particulars of his soft-shoe sell of a highly improbable "dental package" for a 19-year-old cat in renal failure. He has been instrumental in the care and health planning for Chuny and Matisse by offering competent, well-researched, and practical advice in a collaborative way which has made us feel part of the solution, no matter how tough the situation. Doctor Spencer, the outstanding technicians and humans extraordinaire Katie and Kay, and the always cordial and efficient Jamesy, Melissa and Brandon at the front desk work well together and obviously like each other, and their patients benefit from that ease of communication and sharing of knowledge a great deal. We recently lost our Siamese 'child', age nineteen and a half. Over the course of the six months leading up to the final outcome, the QAAC team took turns to call on us and offer practical support by refilling prescriptions proactively and juggling appointments with specialists (Thank you, Jemesy and Melissa!). Kay took several hours to teach us to administer fluids and detect signs of breathing distress in the middle of the night, while Katie coordinated emergency care with the Greenlake Hospital quickly and efficiently ensuring, in the end, that Chuny got all the life saving measures that he'd benefit from. And when the life-saving options were exhausted, final arrangements were made with so much emotional support and warmth that I almost wish they could help us humans plan for the final exit, too. Doc Spencer and Katie came to our home to support us, and Chuny, on the darkest day of our life making the ordeal just a little easier to survive. We cherish our extended family at the Queen Anne Animal Clinic and we appreciate their extraordinary professionalism.
