The beer is excellent and the staff is friendly. I like the Double IPA - stuff is good. The Hanger 24 team has a good product, many local restaurants carry their beer. My partner likes their Orange Wheat. Here's a tip for patrons....... try their Rotten Orange. Its not on the menu, but its a blend they'll make for you. Very tasty. Some nights they have a band playing. It usually is busy those nights. With the money they rake in, they should invest in a nicer environment. The patio can use an upgrade. Enjoy! read more

This beer has lost my support and business. When they first started brewing beer I quickly became a fan. I live to support local businesses and we even purchased several krafts and had them filled weekly. Every restaurant we went to I asked for it. Ok what has happened? It just taste different it seems green. I asked several experts about their response was they are having a hard tim keeping up with demands so they are cutting back on the time spent to produce it properly. Went on a weekday right when they opened it was pretty hopping. Got Betty IPA and it was great! Wife got an anniversary session IPA that she loved. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I have been going to Hangar 24 for years. I am a super fan so this review will be little bias. The patio is a great place to hang out. Super diverse crowd of all ages. My husband and I love going there on Sunday afternoons. Super chill. You can watch the helicopters and planes take off from the airport or watch the tv with you favorite game on. Seating is outside. They have misters on the patio to help during the hot days and heaters for cold days. They now have a food truck Wednesday-Sunday which is awesome. They always have something going on including live music. I am a barrel roll member and have been for some time. I love all there beers and lately they have really stepped up there game. I recommend visiting to anyone who loves beer. Truly a great place to visit. read more

Wow, I finally made it to my favorite beer maker. I was not disappointed. Today it was the release of their Oktoberfest brew for Hangar 24. Lots of food, lots of people, and lots of beer. Everyone was friendly and cheerful and then you have the staff who were also such. I mean they really make you feel welcome here. Before I left I purchased a Growler and asked for some of their signature Orange Wheat beer. The keg they were using ran out on mine. The host there ended up giving me a free pint of Oktoberfest brew while I waited for them to change out the keg and fill my Growler. I was very impressed. I found this place back when they only had a selection of 4 beers. This was about three years ago. I wanted to visit a local brewery so I drove out to this weird place called Hangar 24. It was at an actual airport, inside a hangar! ..when I walked in here for the first time, the only people that were there were a few people tending to the fermentation tanks, and one girl managing the counter where the beer is served. Over the last few years now, this place has blown up. I wouldn't put it anywhere near a Stone-sized mirco brewery yet, (in Escondido), but I wouldn't doubt it reaching that size in a few years from now. Hangar 24 is an excellent place to go grab a craft brew, and try something new. They now serve over 14 kinds of craft beers, as the most popular beer is their Orange Wheat. My personal favorites are the Alt Bier, and the Chocolate stout. Anyways, great place to go and hang out for a few hours to drink some great beers. Once you buy a growler from them, you can come back to refill it for only $10. I usually do this now. The only downside about this place is that you can't smoke outside on the patio while you're drinking beer. read more

Impressive and delicious beer, but a little disappointed with the atmosphere. We tried the classic Orange wheat, which was as crisp & refreshing as ever. We had expected then to serve some pub grub, but instead they had some pricey prepackaged fare (we went with the salami and cheese and the chicken and hummus $5 "lunchables") I was a little taken aback by all the byo: snacks & coozies...and a DOG, haha. I guess I wasn't ready! The limited seating was kind of a bummer too. The staff was super friendly and kept the place tidy, though, a huge plus! Incredibly cool place, I'm glad I was close enough to make the drive here (I was staying in Colton) to check out their tasting room/brewery. Place wasn't packed tonight (which isn't surprising I guess for a Monday) and the service was prompt, very helpful, and extremely friendly. I opted to get both sampler/flights they offered, which essentially allowed a sample of every single beer they had currently on tap (except for the DIPA that they were out of, but was made up for by the new Polycot that's just been released). They were all small 2 oz samples but perfect for tasting flights that also didn't get you too hammered. If you did know exactly what you wanted however they also offered 8 and 16oz pours, in addition to growler fills. It was also nice to have 6pks and bombers for sale as well as I walked out with 3 when I left (including the DIPA they were out of on draft). Beer wise I had had the choc porter previously which did not disappoint (and 2 of the 3 bombers I left with were of those), and the nitro version on tap was even tastier. I also enjoyed the pale ale, the Betty IPA and both the Polycot and Essence were interesting although I was still on the fence about them. Atmosphere was just about perfect to me. It's out in the middle of nowhere, had a great view of the mtns and the small airfield across the street, and I enjoyed the multitude of hangout "places" inside. From barrels to chill by to a cold misted patio with more barrels and other seating options, it had a chill, homey vibe to it all. read more

Great Brewery right by the Redlands airport and at the bottom of Big Bear Mountain. It's easy to find using your smart phone and there is a huge dirt parking lot with plenty of space. I have tried all of their beers ($1 samplers) and I am a fan of the Double IPA and Chocolate Porter. Pint Prices range from $2 - $4, I think the Double IPA was $4 and the Chocolate Porter on nitro was $3. There is a cool atmosphere - being in an airport hanger with a mixed crowd of locals, beer geeks and people just traveling through. I will certainly be back as I make it a point to stop and fill my growler every time I go to Big Bear. read more

Hangar 24 makes great beer! It took a few times before we came to appreciate the brewery for what it is. We live in Yucaipa now and there's nothing to do, so we had no choice but to frequent the brewery and now we're hooked. First impression: It's in the middle of nowhere, the parking is awful in a dirty, gravel-filled lot, the music is loud and not very good, the clientele is odd, there's not enough seating and the patio isn't very inviting. But the beer is great, and even better when fresh. And as previously mentioned, there's nothing to do in Yucaipa. After a few visits: Hangar 24 is a great place to pick up a growler for the weekend, standing in the indoor area near the bar gives an excellent opportunity for people watching. Since there's nothing to do in Yucaipa, I can't wait for Friday evening so I can go again. The name makes sense when you visit the brewery! Yes, its actually at a small airport inside a hanger like building. Of course we have had their beers at events and purchased bottles from the store but the draft beer at the brewery is so much better. They have all the usual beers you can find at the store but also special ones that they don't distribute. Each one was delicious. The brewery is worth the stop because aside from the good beer the location is pretty neat. Like I said, its in an airport so the backdrop of the planes and the hills is nice. Hangar 24 is my first and all-time favorite brewery due to its excellent beer and friendly service. Thanks to my roommate who introduced me to Hangar 24's Orange Wheat beer in 2009, I started loving craft beer in a whole new level and wanted to visit this brewery to try more of their delicious beer. I first went here in 2009 and have been coming here several times ever since. My first visit was a great experience because as a beer newbie, I ended up having a beer sampler and tried all of their beer for an affordable price. I even purchased a 2 liter growler of Orange Wheat because I wanted my family and friends to try it when I bring it home. Furthermore, their refill prices are cheap so I do my best to come back here whenever I can despite of the far distance from L.A. My last visit didn't disappoint. They added a patio area so we can sit down and enjoy our drinks instead of standing up all the time. I still have yet to go there Friday night for their special casks, so I will return for that. Notes: Hangar 24 is located in the middle of nowhere. Awesome location for a brewery. Wide selection of brew. Taster is perfect for first timers. I love how detailed the descriptions for the beers are. The staff was really cool and helpful. They taught me about IBUs (International Bitterness Units). It made the experience that much more enjoyable to have a better idea of why certain brews taste like they do. My fav is the Chocolate Porter! Looks like they have events sometimes with live music too. And every Friday they release a new brew. Just a really kickback, welcoming ambiance for beer lovers. Nice place. Beautiful view of the mountains. Most of the seating is outside. There are heaters but depending on the season if you don't like the chill possibly not your place. The ale is good and the bartenders are friendly and helpful. I got a flight of 4 for $6.50, which isn't bad $$ at all. No food, but they don't mind if you bring your own. No games or entertainment that I can see. Come with your love after dark, bring a light blanket, sit close together, share some good ale, and watch the shadows in the hills. Of course you can take the all important brewery shower. What's that you ask??? Yes when using the restroom I found there was in fact a shower attached. Don't believe me see the photos. read more

Perhaps one of the best spots on the planet. Great beers being brewed on site, and changing frequently. The patio area is the true gem. Watching this evolve over the last several years has been spectacular. It's gone from just a place to stand outside and sample the beers while watching the locals planes and helis come and go from the airport across the street to a place where bands come and play for pretty substantial crowds. No better place to unwind after a long day...try some new flavors and take in the beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains. There needs to be more places like the Hangar. read more

I'm not a big bar guy, but this wasn't too scary. It was pretty laid back. I liked the view. I'm also not a huge craft brew fan, even though I wanted to be. I had the chocolate stout. It had an orange flavor in it. I like that they incorporate the local orange groves into their flavor, it adds a local touch, I just don't like the heavy orange flavor in my beer. I prefer a Guinness, Pabst, or Miller High Life. Overall, I enjoyed it and will probably come back, especially to hear some of the bands that play there. Maybe I will learn to like orange, hoppy beer. I won't go back here due to their political support of Aguilar. read more
