Stopped by on Monday 3/12 as I was in town for business and it was my 1st time. Also they were the only Brewery open on Monday. Staff was great. The place is a big warehouses by a small airport ( hence the name) parking was plenty in the adjacent lot. The views were also nice as u can look at the mountains. By sitting outside. We stopped here on our way to Palm Springs on Friday. I had found this place online and my beer buddies recommended and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by Jason and Mitchell who offered friendly service. Mitchell was well versed in his knowledge of the beer (as he was the brewer) and we enjoyed learning about the beer and flavor profiles from him and Jason. We got the X-14 which was the tropical IPA that was literally released the day we came and I got lucky as they had a keg of this hazy IPA and tapped it for me. Both were amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the views of the mountains. After we enjoyed those two beers, we tried their Nitro Orange Stout which was super crisp but pulled all the flavors while taking a tour of the brewery. It was super cool to learn about the process of how beer is made. This brewery actually produces SO much beer for their size. All in all it was a great start to our vacation and we will be returning on our way home to pick up a growler of this X-14! read more

Food is usually good. The service has gone down hill in the last month or so. One person who is very unfriendly to the point of being rude. The business used to be hopping. Now when we arrive we only see 5 people or so all night. The owners need to bring back the beer tenders and the ambiance or it will go out of business. The beer has always been good. Can't really say anything bad about a place that makes something as amazing as Pugachev's Cobra, a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. I was super lucky to visit while Puga was on draft. We dropped in on a Monday morning shortly after opening on our way back to Phoenix. We were grateful to have the place and staff all to ourselves to ask nerdy beer questions. If covid is something that is a problem for you then I don't think you should be going out instead of writing terrible reviews. Great American brewed beer in a comfortable and friendly environment. I like their Betty IPA and Easy Glider Session IPA. My wife likes the Alt-Bier Amber Ale and the Orange Wedge Double IPA. I've heard pretty good things about this place so I stopped by last night for a few. They have a wide array of beers for almost any taste. Small munchies are also available, just no entrees. Seating is mostly outside, so if it's cold out, you prob wanna go to a different place. They have heat lamps, but they don't work too well. Staff wasn't very courteous or attentive. As we had our first beer, a staff member came out and called last call at 9:45 (they close at 11). Whatever, no big deal. 10 mins later, this cat starts flickering the lights telling everyone "finish your drinks, we are closing". This isn't kindergarten for crying out loud lol. We left as we didn't want to get put in timeout for not listening. read more

I love supporting my local breweries, especially during this pandemic. I unfortunately don't get out to wonderful Redlands enough. So when I received an email from Hanger for ordering online for shipping & curbside pickup, I wanted to do my part for beers to go sales. I was very surprised to have all 5 of my special barrel series bottles shipped to me & packed correctly by UPS. Initially, only 2 were to be shipped and the rest I was going to pick up. Unfortunately, there were 2 issues with my order. After emailing Hanger about it early Sunday morning, I was again pleasantly surprised to hear from them a few hours later- on a Sunday! Tons of gratitude & thanks to Kim Brennan of Hanger 24 for promptly responding and finding solutions to my issues. She went over & beyond to fix it all. This is definitely a hidden gem to get some good beer. A friend told us about this place because... well she works there. haha Seriously it's pretty much a brewery in a hangar located near the Redlands airport and other airplane hangars. You can have free tastings (they offer 6 beers so far) and of course purchase beers (kegs, growlers, bottled 6 packs). So pretty much you have to be able to stand around to enjoy your beer or make use of some of those empty kegs as seating. So maybe down the line, some sort of seating will be available but it still is a brewery and nothing else. They also have a bathroom (and it's clean) so for you with weak bladders, no fretting! Their top seller and favorite is their Orange Wheat with locally grown oranges. It's one of the lighter beers and it's pretty damn good. I ordered the Helles Lager which is another of the light beers but it was very clean tasting and very refreshing. If you like dark, you might enjoy their Porter which is 8% per volume and had a very interesting taste. I'm pretty sure it was made out of Cocoa/Coffee and with a hint of banana. I might be wrong but definitely not about the banana part :P. Anyway, there's nothing like enjoying fresh beer straight from the brewery. Hangar 24 is the main reason we drove out to Redlands for some birthday beer tasting. It's the most known out of the IE breweries and for good reason. While the Orange Wheat is their flagship beer, Betty IPA has been on my tap radar for some time now. I like it more and more with each passing pint. The owner and master brewer of the place graduated from UC Davis' master brewers program. Where was this major when I was in college? I would have never been missed or been late for class. The brewery sits right next to the airport. It is a pretty big space but with the tasting room, brewing, and bottling all going on it's a happening place. We got a flight for 9 bucks. Enjoyed the trip around the palate. We finished with a tequila barrel double IPA. Ya. That's right. They let their double IPA age in tequila barrels which gives it a kick to say the least. The patio outside boasts lots of seating and a stage for live music. If I lived locally I could see myself spending a lot of my free time there. Like all my free time. read more

What happened, Hangar 24? The weather gets nice and you guys get all high on yourselves? My husband and I stopped in on a recent Sunday. It just so happened the brewery was having a release party of their new Polycot beer. We didn't know that was going on when we arrived but it was a nice surprise to see a lot of people and what would have been a good party atmosphere. It was a beautiful day, the brewery had partnered with a local burger restaurant to serve food (didn't appear to be any refrigeration), then we went inside to order a couple beers. The girls working behind the bar were not helpful one iota. They kind of had the attitude like, "I'm hot sh*! (for the I.E.) and you need me to give you beer more than I need you." Well, sorry missy, you need us to give you tips and make your $9/hr salary worthwhile. It also helps to have repeat customers to continue buying your beer and bringing you those tips. Ugh. So we got our beers. My husband got the porter which is ultra-thick. He said it was sort-of good. Guess it's more on the bitter side. I got the Polycot, which was good though the supposed apricot flavor did not shine through whatsoever. It's nice to have a brewery nearby, though they should focus on the quality of their beers once again, as well as on the quality and personalities of their staff. Would like to note there was a guy pouring beer outside whose personality broke the mold of the wannabe barbies inside. I will admit.. I am a fan of beer - or should I say? - a fine ALE. Over the past decade or two, beer has started coming into its own behind wine as a drink to enjoy with meals; and until the Microbrew Revolution of the 80's (Thanks to Samuel Adams' Jim Cook), most American Beer was terrible, barely drinkable crap. Needless to say i was very happy and excited to hear that a new microbrewery had opened up - in Redlands even! A mere few minutes from me. Score! The wife and I found out about Hangar 24 when we were at our local Applebee's and they featured their Orange Wheat ale on tap. I'd heard some of the DJ's on KCAL and The X talking about Hangar 24 on their shows and decided what the heck - and gave it a try. What a wonderful decision! The ale, a Heffe-Weizen variant - was great! It went perfectly with my Fiesta Lime Chicken and was crisp and refreshing. So I went to their website and saw they were local and offered tasting hours - and decided to make a pilgrimage. And when I say pilgrimage - I mean it. its only a few minutes (less than 10) from my house.. But you have to go down Pioneer Rd in Redlands, through residential areas.. until it starts to thin out...and then doooooown the lonely road, across a street that seems constantly flooded, and then to the lonely little Redlands Municpal Airport. Look for the big brewing tank and yer there!! You walk in and yer almost right in the middle of things! The tasting bar is off to the side and you can see all the fermentation tanks, the bottling machine - all the kegs.. everything! It really gives you an organic feel for how the stuff is made. The tastes used to be free - but now they charge $1 for 2 tastes and $3 for a "flight" of all 6 that they feature. Trust me - its worth it; as the tastes aren't teeny tiny. Their ales are top notch. I love the Pale Ale and the Orange Wheat, and the wife and I are big fans of the Helles Lager (a perfect ale to try to introduce a newbie to microbrews). They also feature a full bodied Alt and an IPA that is yummers. As mentioned by others, ther Porter tastes has noticable banana tones to it - but that's due to the yeast that they use to ferment it - its a yeast on more citrusy ales so it gives those undertones to the Porter. The staff is almost always friendly and helpful and willing to answer questions. You can stand aroudn and drink ales at $4 a pint, or sit on an empty keg and socialize. BTW: I was there yesterday, the day eddie m. said they were having problems and were rude. They were indeed having some problems with their credit card machine, and the girls there were very apologetic about it and gracious - so i have no idea what eddie was talking about. Bad days happen. The place was packed and hummin' and they were doing a great job. If your a fan of good ale brewed locally and want to support a fine local business, drive out and give them a try. They have one of the coolest looking growlers ever! And refills are only $10 - a good price for fine, locally brewed and DELICIOUS ale. 5 star Yelp all the way!! read more

I had really high hopes for this tasting room. I most certainly don't live close by but since I was kind of in the area I figured I would check it out. The brewery is way out in the middle of no where. Literally next to a airstrip. Considering how popular Hangar 24 is, I was expecting a large modern brewery. It most certainly is not. It's pretty small, still looks like an old mom and pop place. I think that's kind of cool. What's also pretty cool is production is happening while the tasting room is open. I watched oranges get brought in and the discarding of used oranges. I was disappointed in the beer menu. I was expecting something I couldn't find in the grocery store. I like a tasting room that experiments and has something that isn't offered outside their premises. The parking lot is rather small and is shared with business, not that it matters because there is plenty of street parking. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to chill with some friends.. This is a safe place to go. read more

SUCH A GOOD BREWERY. They have ton of different beers on tap. I was lucky enough to score some of that Nitro Small stout. That was sooo good. If you love guinness, you would love that beer. The seasonal beer was good, I didnt try any lagers or amber. But the pale ales and IPAs were great. Love the fact that the air plane hangars are right in front of the brewery. Fantastic brewery. So there are a few things... I've been going to hangar 24 for many years now. Lately the girls that work the counter at night (beer servers) aren't friendly at all. It's like they hate working there especially during Covid. Lol. I thought it was just me or maybe i was doing something wrong but as i was standing in line I noticed they're that way to the other customers. Working at a brewery you should be helpful when it comes to your undecided beer choice customers. I mean it's like these girls are miserable having to work. Super cool brewery in the middle of nowhere! Located in the deep dark woods into a small airfield, you can find this Redlands microbrewery offering several fine brews. It's a cool little spot that has an outdoor patio.. great for just chillin' out with friends while enjoying some good beer. They have their usual rotation on tap with a couple seasonal and special brews to offer as well. I love the Chocolate Porter with its hints of coffee and vanilla. Very refreshing.. it definitely is my go-to pick. Their most popular brew that you'll usually see at restaurants is the Orange Wheat.. lots of flavor, a step better than Blue Moon. Their IPA's are also very good.. if you can handle it, the Double IPA is a strong ale that you'll feel after one pint. Prices are a little bit more than other breweries but is definitely worth it. I like the atmosphere of these breweries with people who just love beer and aren't just trying to get drunk. We've visited Hangar several times and never has it once been a rowdy bar-like crowd. It can get pretty busy and feel crowded on the weekend but shouldn't keep you from having a good time. I see a lot of people bringing their own food to eat with their beer but they'll have food trucks sometimes on the weekend. Look out for special events with live music, food trucks, and limited time brews. read more

They always have these community events where they showcase their new beers or have tastings and stuff, which is nice. When you go to the brewery don't expect anything fancy with stools and tables.. it is what it is- a brewery. There's a bar, but no chairs... and you can see the kegs all over the place. So if you want to throw back some beers at a no frills, no bullshit just good beer atmosphere, this is the place to be. Wear comfy shoes cause you'll be standing the whole time. It offers 8 of the beers sorted by bitterness scale. You also receive a printout with a little explanation of each of the brews in the flight. Great craft beers, in particular the Helles Lager and the Orange Wheat are smooth and tasty. They have a sampler tray for $9 which is good to determine what your next pint will be. If you want a quick lesson on the art of brewing beer, take the tour. We got lucky and got Jered-the head tour guide who gave us the tour and answered all our inane questions with patience. What I dig too is that they try to use locally grown fruit i.e. oranges for their beer. Next time i'm out in the San Berdo, I'm stopping at the Hangar for a couple of pints. read more

This is the 16th stop on our Southern California beer pilgrimage and it's my favorite so far. There's not a beer in my taster flight that I don't like, but my favorite has to be the Alt-Bier Amber Ale. The Orange Wheat and Gourdgeous (their ode to fall flavors) are also interesting and complex. It was definitely worth a detour to the pretty town of Redlands to visit this place. They don't have food, though, so call ahead to see if there's a food truck on the schedule, or make a quick Subway stop (about a mile away) if you're hungry. They allow outside food, and their beer garden (with a nice airport/valley view) is the perfect place to enjoy it. read more

Cops supposedly wait outside for you, so be careful. I love Hangar's Orange Wheat, and it is popping up at more restaurants. Rent a keg here for your next social function! Its a small brewery, and hopefully they will grow to include a full restaurant and then do weddings someday. We purchased the growler for 35.00. It holds 4 beers and they will fill it for 10 bucks. Went here for my first time on a Wednesday night and the place wasn't too crowded. I heard the place gets packed on the weekends though. Seats were available outside. I went here when the sun was setting and it was such a nice day out. Seeing the planes and the mountains outside just added to the atmosphere. As for the beer, my favorite is Orange Wheat. If you haven't tried all of their beers, I would recommend getting the sampler because it is worth it and under $10. They have seasonal beers that they add to the sampler for you. You can also order individual sampler cups of beers if you'd like. I believe they range from $1-$2 for the individual sampler. read more

I spend some time in Redlands every once in awhile while attending alumni events at U of Redlands. This place is pretty new (~12 months old). It was not around when I was in school 3 years ago - if it was, we would have gone all the time. This is basically i small brewery, that has "beer tasting". I wouldn't call it a bar, but its basically a bar. Makes sense? Let me elaborate. Hangar 24 has a great line of "local" microbrews. They sell them in local bars throughout southern california. The location I am reviewing is their brewing location, where they offer beer tasting. There isn't really a "bar". Tasting/hanging out/socializing basically takes place in their brew area. Industrial setting surrounded by brew equipment, barrels, kegs on pallets, etc. Very cool atmosphere. Seating is restricted to sitting on empty kegs around the "hangar". They have half a dozen or so brews, which you can order on draft. You can also do the "beer flight" which samples each of the brews, for only $3. They offer "handles" of draft beer as well, to take home. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out. Its kind of off the beaten path - not only is it in Redlands, CA, but its also far away from the traditional "downtown" area in Redlands. Well worth the trip. The only negative that I can come up with is the lack of "real" seating. There aren't even bar stools at the "bar". You've basically got to stand around while chatting with friends. I didn't mind, but it seems like they could have made more of a "bar" somewhere on the property. Hence the 4 star rating. Check it out. read more
