I had heard a bit about this place and wanted to check it out. It's located way outside downtown Redlands at the airport, as the name would suggest. There's very little parking, but it's not a bad walk from street parking. The building is open air with a covered patio. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty crowded. Most of the seating is picnic benches, although there are a few hightop bar rails. It was very noisy, especially since there were quite a few families and groups of people who appear to be regulars. The patio is dog friendly. As for the beer, as a guy who dislikes IPAs, it was the usual selection of 17 or 18 out of 20 or so beers being some form of IPA. I was fortunate to find a stout with a low IBU and 4.4 ABV. It was similar to Guinness, and was good. Depending on what you are looking for in a craft brewery experience, you may find it fun. Got a growler refill of Chocolate Porter. Beer was more bitter than the last time I was there over one year ago. Looked at my receipt after I left and it said $32.00 for a growler refill (brought my own growler.) Emailed the brewery and they said that was the price now. Most places are less than $20.00. Great place. Would love to see the return of "Spec Hops" on the menu. Over the years, it was by far the best brew in my opinion.

Let's just say, I am still not a beer drinker. So whut the heck am I doing here? Mr. B, avid reader, was immersed in a novel when he encountered a reference to Hangar 24 beer, specifically the Wheels Up label. Within days, we found ourselves on a mini road trip to the beautiful collegiate town of Redlands and, tah dah....here I am! With mostly shaded outdoor seating, you will find a few wooden barrels converted to tables and metallic kegs for chairs, and one heck-of-a-long community table. I think beer causes unmitigated boisterousness, because even on a slow week day, it was loud. Inside are the giant, stainless steel fermentors (vats that made me think of a tall rocket, but with a funnel at the bottom), serving vats, and the line of taps behind the counter where you place your order. This is a true " hard working" brewery, way out in the boonies of the Inland Empire. The drive takes you through scenic, historic citrus and avocado groves, past rural fruit stands, until you arrive at a dusty little airport near Redlands/Mentone. Just outside the real hangars is the brewery. The San Bernardino mountains tower in the background, nothing to impede your view. It has to be gorgeous when they are snow-capped. So here I am, chatting with my beer table neighbors, watching Mr. B down his 7 brew sampler. He says they are all too bitter, but at least, now, he can relate to the book's reference. And me? I am drinking beer too...me and my wimpy root beer. Actually, the on tap root beer is quite good, but the only way you'll get me back is if I bring my own vanilla ice cream. Duly noted. read more

After months of being told great things about Hangar 24 and trying the beer at fairs and in bottles purchased at the grocery store, we finally made it to where the magic is created. Hangar 24 is located in an airplane hangar with a beautiful view of the mountains. The place was packed, but I was able to find parking right in front. The adjacent dirt lot was packed too, and I soon found out why. The place was extremely busy, as the result of a homecoming event for the nearby college. Even with the large crowd, the scene was great, and the music was very good. Later, a local band arrived, and the party continued. My well-experienced guide (my friend) directed us through the tides of people to the beer line. We tried all of the favorites including the Orange Wheat, the Chocolate Porter, the Betty IPA, and others. Each beer was excellent, but I could not pick a favorite. Please note that if you are not a regular IPA-craft beer drinker, take it slow. Some of the beers have a very high alcohol content. In regards to the employees, they were friendly and efficient. They were able to get us through the line pretty fast, based on the amount of people at the location. Unfortunately, Hangar 24 does not serve food, but they allow you to bring it in. If you have tried Hanger 24 beer in the bottle and like it, you will love it at the brewery. read more

Who knew they would have breweries here in Redlands?? I didn't! But after visiting, you'd think they'd have much more than one brewery around the whole vicinity! Every brewery I've visited, their prices are pretty much unreasonable. But hey, what can ya do? I've paid $9 even $11 for a glass of beer. Yes, $11!! I ordered an Orange Wheat for only $6 here! That's basically half the price of what I've paid for! I was ecstatic, I wanted to order more. There is so much land here as well, I really hope they will extend this location. It's very lively (with live bands), but it's extremely crowded. There's barely any room to even stand. It is pet friendly! Everyone here made the atmosphere so much more fun. My first but definitely not my last visit to Hangar 24 was awesome. Never mind that I stood in line for almost an hour to grab a handful of bottles of Pugachev '12 because when they're aged, I know they'll be worth it. Never mind the lines I stood in line to grab the samples ($25 tasting fee) because I was with friends and one of them paid the fee, for me. Nothing like beer with buddies! Met some really cool fellow beer snobs and had an okay sausage with mac & cheese with chilli. As for the beer - I really enjoy the dark beers and most of the sampling pours was of the dark variety so let's just say that I enjoyed most of the sample - some not so much. The brewery was clean and I like the simple amenities. No garden - restaurant, just beer and benches. And beer buddies. Life doesn't get much better than that! read more

The 4 stars are for the brewery itself, the service and quality of professional is legit.I have always enjoyed the aviation atmosphere here. There is a specific food vendor that is normally present, I forgot the name but looks like Salvadoran food the customer service from the food vendor was horrible when asked about the food,,, they would not help out at all they would just say read the menu,,, and I let them know that was not cool and did not give them any business. I have had the food there before and it was nothing to brag about, really plain and nothing special. I hope they get another food vendor there with good food and better service coming out of the vendor. It's a shame that they are kind of associated with hanger but oh well. I still recommend the brewery for sure read more

Located at the Redlands airport, this place is nothing fancy, no tables, just some kegs scattered to sit on and enjoy the beer. With that said, I guess I am going to be the first to throw in a negative. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and I couldn't have been more disappointed in the staff. With this being our first trip to the brewery, we weren't familiar with their beers or offerings. The female employee that waited on us didn't smile, she didn't offer any information about their beers. Mr. B asked about a tasting with no response so ordered a cup of the Alt-Bier. He enjoyed it very much, but while we were at the bar enjoying the drink and looking over the board overhead, at the bottom it is listed a 7 beer tasting for $4, great deal. I don't understand why when you are in the beer business and are offering your beers for tasting you don't engage the guest, explain your beers and entice them to try different types. After finishing his beer, Mr. B was all set to buy a six pack of the Alt-bier, he loved it. We stood for 5 minutes with a $10 on the bar, and neither one of the employees stopped to ask if we enjoyed the beer, or if we needed anything else. So the $10 went back in the pocket and we left. Honestly I like their beer, but being here made me uncomfortable. If it weren't for my friends wanting to stay I would have left ASAP....so we compromised and sat near the perimeter This place is not COVID compliant. Social distancing was not in affect, no gloves, food workers were not wearing masks.... I work at a restaurant myself and I do all I can to keep my customers safe, and expect the same treatment when I go out. All it takes is a few outbreaks to ruin it for the already struggling restaurant industry. I won't be attending anymore until COVID is under control. read more

Love this place!! They have ample outdoor seating and usually have a food truck, however sometimes they're hit or miss. So I usually bring take-out with me (like In-n-out or Chipotle). They are super chill and let you bring your own food. Their beer is solid!! As someone who likes darker beers, they usually have one or two dark beers to pick from that hit the spot. Great beer and fun atmosphere. Although a trek on a road that looks like it leads to nowhere, it's nestled in next to the airport, hence "Hangar 24" and the aviation theme. I pursue craft beer. Not just any, GREAT craft beer. I am happy to say that Hangar 24 has one of my all-time favorite beers: Barrel-Roll 3: Pugachev's Cobra. It's a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout at about 16.5%. Ah-Mazing! The rest of the normal line up is solid. The Columbus IPA and the DIPA are tasty and the Orange Wheat is a good go to for the style. They often have seasonal beers for summer/spring (Polycot) and winter (Winter Warmer). The atmosphere is like most breweries these days, in a warehouse type facility with a giant walk-in cooler that has taps attached. The only difference here, is the patio which features heaters for the cold nights and misters for the hot days. The view is of the landing strip of the airport and of neighboring hangars. My favorite was just watching the plans come in for a landing with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop. I've heard lots of warnings about police nearby trying to bust drunk drivers leaving the brewery. I, fortunately, have not seen them myself the times I have been there. It seems like the Redlands PD may need more things to do than to harass people trying to pick up growlers. If you are buying bottles there they tend to be more expensive than at the local market. They have to sell their stuff at full MSRP. For example, I went to the release of Pugachev's Cobra and they sold for $20/each. Later I found them at a beer store for $16.25/each. Oh well, I guess it's worth it for that one. Save yourself time and $$$ and buy the year-round bottles (alt-beir, IPA, Orange Wheat) at other locations. Support local craft beer! read more

Had the opportunity to check out hangar 24 after I accompanied my parent to San manuel earlier today, adult and senior citizen entertainment Capitol of the IE. Instead of spending your money at the slots come check out this spot to taste some beer. In the middle of a county airport, the taproom here provides a good mix of local brewers and non brewing civilians like you and me. They are known for their orange wheat, and chances are they will have some oranges in a crate near one of their large fermentors when you walk in. Unlike other tasting rooms hangar has an industrial feel to it, the beers take center stage here. From the tasters my dad and I tried our favorite was the seasonal California spring beer. A refreshing hop forward take on the traditional wheat ale. My dad also enjoyed the betty, their traditional ipa. And the best part is their 3 Oz tasters are 1 to 2 dollars, which means you can taste a good amount of beers without breaking the bank doing so. Unfortunately this place is a little far out for me but otherwise I would visit here more. Nothing that truly wowed us but this is a great place to try out beer and relax after a hard days work. Or show out at 11 am for an early lunch break or to celebrate finishing a graveyard, take your pick. read more

Such a cute lil gem in Redlands! Kind of tucked away and apart from other places to hang (like state street or whatnot), but Hangar is a fun, open area to grab a beer and chill. There is plenty of seating or places to stand. Even during covid season, there were a lot of people here, but bc it's outdoor and open, we didn't feel unsafe or anything. :) we grabbed a quick beer each at the end of the night and just took in the lively ambiance. Hangar 24 is a great spot for some good beers and outdoor seating facing some great views of the mountains. This time, I took papers to grade and sat outside enjoying my brew. Always getting new beers and the staff are knowledgeable to help you try new beers out! They had taco Tuesday from their food truck, were playing the Dodgers playoff game, and also had live music later on. Can be crowded on weekends, but my Tuesday experience was great. read more

Hanger 24 is a great time! Location is not as prime as some would like but I would say that it's totally worth the drive and adventure. The beer is great most known for the Betty IPA or the Orange Wheat and the overall atmosphere is equally as great. There is a lot of room for large parties and most of the seating is out on a covered patio with picnic tables & is pet friendly. The staff is super friendly and keep the shop pretty clean as well. You'll hear the planes pretty regularly as you are literally on the airport grounds, or really really close. This place is usually always packed so I recommend getting there early, especially on the weekends. The beer selection at this location is decent but I think where it's falling short is the lack of seating with shaded options. While here I saw 7 different groups of families come and then leave once they realized they'd be sitting in direct heat. From a business standpoint you're losing money by not investing into this location more. The lake Havasu and Irvine ones are BEAUTIFUL but home base could use some work With that said, the beer is good and the staff is incredibly friendly but not an ideal location for when it's hot. read more

So far we have always had great things to say about this place. UNTIL we purchased a SixPack of Betty IPA at a local store near me. We chilled them for 30minutes only to open the 1st bottle and get the worst tasting RANCID flavor!! Opened 2 more and they smelled and tasted nasty! Nothing like a Betty should taste at all. I reached out to Hanger24 and it's so disappointing that Not One person has even bothered to respond!! The bottles have No Bottling Date so you can't tell how long they may have sat for before Hanger24 chose to distribute a product that was close to an expiration date to make money. read more

Stopped by with some friends on the way home from Big Bear. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Wait was about 20 minutes to get a beer. They have a huge selection of beers with a couple seasonal ones. I was shocked that they had a 15% beer caller Pugachev's. It was surprisingly pretty tasty for a beer with that high of an abv. The chocolate bomber was a delicious porter with nice hints of vanilla. Lime Wheat Beer is really refreshing but a bit too much on the sour side. Cherry beer tasted like watered down cherry soda, so I wouldn't recommend that one. Chill, spacious patio right across from an airport so it was cool drinking a beer and looking at places. Now, I get why they're called Hangar 24 LOL! Side note: they made a huge mistake changing an exciting OKC Thunder vs Philly 76ers game to the Lakers game where they were getting owned.
