I have had to amend this review in the several months since I started using this particular office for my surgically modified foot. While I have no complaints with the products and the quality of the orthotics from Hangar Clinic itself it is this office that I have issues with. Since melanoma entered my life back in February I have gotten to see a variety of medical offices, probably more than anyone should have to. You get to see pretty quick who runs a good office, who has good staff and who doesn't have a clue. You have to learn this or our country's medical system will eat you alive. When I first entered this Hangar office I was happy to see that the staff was very friendly and eager to get back to walking again. I left feeling great about them and the direction my recovery was going. I was told about two weeks to get my new special shoes and the inserts that would allow me to walk again. As time went by and the two week period was approaching I was super excited and couldn't wait. The time came and passed with nary a word from this office. After a few days I called and asked what was up and basically no one knew. They said they would call me back that afternoon. The next day I called again, they said the shoe was back-ordered but the insert was there. A week later I called again and I was told, "Oh yes, the insert is finally here, the shoe has been there for a while." Huh? I went down and got fitted and decided to blow it off because I was walking! A week or so later it was apparent that I needed to modify the insert a little, it was hurting my foot. They got me in the next day, made some adjustments and it was better. I started to feel better. Fast forward another few weeks and my podiatrist was not happy with the insert and gave me a list of adjustments he wanted them to make, so I went in the next day to Hangar and they made the adjustments as best they could but they said it would be better if we started from scratch so we made a new mold of my foot and sent it off for a new insert that would in within two weeks. Two and a half weeks later I called to ask about the insert and no one knew anything, the gentleman who was handling my case was on vacation and I would have to wait. The day he was back I called, he was with a client and would call me back in a few hours. Three days later I called back again, no one knew anything. Finally, a week later, they were able to get my insert in. After that visit with no apology, no explanation about the snafu I decided that I will try a office on the other side of town near Legacy Hospital. Now I know why this office is in a basement. I hope that in the future they can get a better staff in there but I won't be back to see if that happened. read more

I've had better. But I cannot fault these folks to much. Office staff where professional and the tech that did the fitting seemed to be a caring professional . What was not that good was the actual arch support. I have had better and because of the cost- 2 stars. read more

Front desk staff is in need of retraining, and a lesson in courtesy and customer care. I was not given an option to choose an appointment time, I was given one. When I asked if the time could be adjusted I was told "no". When I asked why I needed an appointment at all if I was simply picking up a Velcro/padded back brace which I had already been fitted for previously... I was told " yes it is needed in case grinding is needed to properly fit". Even after I explained it was Velcro /padded... Nothing that could be 'ground' and simple to adjust with the Velcro closures , " no, you must come for your appointment at the time you were given" I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment hoping I could be seen early if possible. I was told "no" then 30 minutes later the desk clerk looked at the clock, noticed it was my scheduled time, and called my name ( I was the only one in the lobby) . When I finally met with the technician she asked how long was I there, I told her, she was surprised because she could have seen me early. Yes, I discussed the incident with management. Hopefully this can be resolved before any other patient is made to feel like dirt. read more

I had no problem with being fitted, and getting a decent pair of shoes that suited my purposes, but dealing with the administrative staff was extremely difficult. They impress you with the many rules and regulations they have to follow because of Medicare oversight, but then are careless with the details that involve moving you, the client, through the process. That wouldn't be so very terrible if some in that department were not very, very rude. That is the impression I have on arriving, and on leaving, this business. And speaking of business, that is just what it is . . . there may be people here with more medical knowledge than I will ever have, but bottom line is that I am a customer, and they are in business to fulfill my needs . . . to treat me with respect. In today's medical system (see other letter; I concur) this is forgotten. It shouldn't be. I have added a new physician to my "repertoire." From the time I entered the clinic to the time I walked out the door, I was treated with such friendliness and courtesy and respect, it almost made me giggle. It IS possible to be treated as we deserve in our medical system. read more

I live 6-8 months out of the year in AZ. The other time we stay with family in the Vancouver, WA area. My foot doctor in AZ prescribed a special orthotic and, due to the lack of time I was unable to get it made in AZ before heading north. We were recommend Hanger Clinic by a local orthopedic group. They sent me (via email) all the necessary forms and set up an appointment that was convenient for me. When I first went in the staff was great, very helpful and professional. The technician called me in right on appointment time, answered all my questions, took the necessary fitting procedures and we made another appointment for the final fitting. Again when I came back the staff was great, The technician called me back right on appt time, fitted me and made sure I was comfortable with the new devise. I completely agree with the previous reviews about their administrative staff. It's very very sad they don't have a clue how to treat people. Actually, there's one girl at the front desk who tries to run the entire office. Even after my doctor called them and they said to return them. When I arrived, that one girl gave me a hard time. The person the doctor spoke to came running up front and told her that the doctor called and I was told to bring them back. The first set of orthotics were built wrong as well as the second set. They don't correct the problem in that office, they ship them out to who knows where, and they don't correct the problem. In fact, they don't even apologize for the inconvenience of the problems their orthotics may have caused. My left foot had been giving me some problems and their orthotics increased my pain ten fold in one week. I will never use them again. I did say that if they hadn't "F'd" up my first pair, none of what happened wouldn't have happened. The fact that I said that (and shouldn't have) they made a police report that they said I threatened the employees lives. That is an out and out lie. In fact, the girl must have been pretty desperate to have over reacted that bad. read more

I brought my mother in here who is not very verbal for some diabetic shoes and inserts. Let me just say when you walk in the door the front desk lady name Michelle will treat you like your family. She was so respectful of my mom and talk to her like they were having a conversation she did not treat my mom any different because she's nonverbal she is the light of the office and an amazing person. When I checked out Michele was on the phone so she was unable to help me and the other girl which I do not know her name because she didn't Where name tag helped me, while she was professional she was not very friendly and kind of look like she had just crawled out of bed. We saw the clinician Gerald he was very informative and very helpful with my mom and getting her shoes that would fit and feel good. I go to a lot of doctors appointments with my mom and I have to say I have never found a friendlier front desk staff as well as professional and because of that I will absolutely refer my friends and my mothers friends to come and see you read more

I was referred by my PT for a fitting for a compression garment. I had to wait two weeks for an appointment which was the first clue that I should've picked one of the places on the other side of the river. The second clue was the receptionist taking my authorization letter and not even giving me back a copy. The third was the person doing the alleged fitting who took some half assed measurements as if he was offended to be touching my admittedly overweight body (I have lymphedema so of course I need compression so not a skinny body, duh) and he did the measurements over my pants even though I told him I had tights on underneath so he could get more accurate measurements without. He also dismissed one of the requirements of the prescription because he hadn't done it before and told the receptionist to get "her" in with Alyssa when "she" comes back in. I was right there but go ahead and treat me like a non person. I became concerned and called back to verify that they had even ordered the correct garment. The receptionist said that he hadn't but he had left for the day. He called me the next morning and very rudely said he had but he didn't need to measure any more than he had and his manager would not be calling me. I called back and insisted the manager call me and said to the receptionist that I don't trust his measurements. We will see if anyone calls me back but I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND ESPECIALLY NOT GERALD! read more

Sorry you guys have had a bad day maybe if you wern't looking for pitty it would have gone better. Suck it up when it comes to foot pain it really really sucks but I have used these people for years and the only bad attatudes I've ever seen was from the so called inpatient patient nothing good or well done is fast and getting your feet just right is truely the hardest just when you think you got it right something shift or the patient redamages the foot and my fav they just don't follow dierections and it's NEVER anything they did We all know that foot pain is the worst but we don't need to make it worst by blaming the doctors you don't like them GO somewhere else you can do that read more
