My first experience with DeFalco's wasn't what I expected and I think it was because of the pesto sandwich that was overhyped online. However I shouldn't have been so quick to judge them off that one dish! The management team reached out right away and asked that I give them another go! And so I did!! We ordered two pizzas (Margherita and sausage) as well as their chicken pasta! Instantly obsessed and one of the best pizza I've had in Phoenix!! And yes of course I tipped, throwing three bucks in the jar. She told me I could get it without the bread bowl next time. What are you paying $20 for?

So I trecked 5 miles out of my way to Goldman's (when Chompie's was just a mile away --frankly I don't know why I didn't think about chompies) I ordered the chopped chicken liver appetizer which comes with slices of tomato, a piece of lettuce, slice of red onion, and challah bread. I paid $15.01 for this platter (lol) without a tip for a small scoop of the liver. Just look at the photo. I was shocked to see how small it was. I thought that with a base price of $13.99 that the scoop would be bigger or at least the same size as in the past when it was $9.99. The challah bread was yellow but did not take like challah. Yellow bread slices do not delicious challah bread make--no yeasty flavor as any good challah would have. So here I am regretting that I didn't give chompie's a try. I can assure you that I will not be returning to Goldman's. I know ingredients have gone up but this price for such a small scoop is an affront to the wallet.

I found out that even if something is not on the menu, they can still make it for you if you remember the combination. Some other sandwiches I like are the Hunter Pence and the Steve Nash. The service is friendly, and they are more than happy to offer suggestions on what sandwich to choose, as they have an excellent selection of sandwiches. I also like the atmosphere. It is nice and colorful, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy your food. Ike's is also a great place to go if you need to eat on the run. Once, I had to take my sandwich to go. Upon ordering it, they had it ready with plenty of time to spare. I also like that they have a rewards program. Love going to Hangover Hoagies. Every time I have a vendor or business meeting; I take them to this hole-in-the-wall place. Most might think that I am crazy for doing this, considering it is located inside a liquor store and there are only 3 or 4 tables to eat at. But where the glitz and glam fail, the food & service makes up for it. It does take a little bit longer than a traditional sub place to make your sandwich, but when you get a fully loaded sub with savory meat and crisp veggies; you have all but forgotten the wait. ***Quick Tip*** they have "Happy Hour" from 3pm-6pm when you can get a sub combo for 2 bucks off the normal price. read more

I come in here all the time. They are so quick unless its toasted but that only takes a bit longer and its worth the wait. The workers are so friendly. They let me build my own sandwich and thats perfect because i usually do a pretty simple sandwich. These are the most humid, bombast subs you'll ever eat. Straight fire out of heaven's blissful toaster oven.
