    Oreo Shake

Neat, local-owned Korean chicken sandwich shop. I was attending an event nearby the Oakton/Vienna area, so decided to stop by. Small parking lot in a tiny complex, but more than sufficient parking spaces. After deliberating a while, I got the Chicken Sando (only sandwich option) with Angry Hot spice level -- which is the spiciest option. I was a first-timer and decided to YOLO it. I had to sign a waiver which asked me to confirm that I knew what the heck I was doing. I signed on the dot promptly, but still had no clue what was goin on. Oh yep, and I also got the Oreo shake on a whim. Ton of calories overload, but that's usually how I roll, so yeah. Spice level on the chicken Sando almost killed me. Almost after a bite or two, my eyes started watering slightly and I had to rush (and subsequently almost a half-dozen times) to fill my small plastic cup with water (which was free, thankfully) and also to stock up on napkins. I blew my nose until I was all dried out. I drank enough milkshake and water until I swear I was bloated. Eyes stopped watering after only a short while, but with the spiciest level my Sando had ghost peppers, and I could honestly taste it with each bite. Sauce spilled all over and I could only take a bite or two before my mouth became really hot and dry and I had to got thru napkins and chug down water and take a longish break. Wish I could say it was worth it, and honestly I felt it was for a first-time experience. I've had spice before so I thought I was prepared. Welp, but the sandwich was angry hot and even though I was hangry it almost killed me. Food was decent, and while the taste did not hit me as much as the slice, it was certainly not bad in any sense. Aftermath -- My stomach hurt for a long time afterwards and I had trouble sleeping that day because my gut was roiling and there was something erratic and wrong with my heartbeat. I felt like getting up but I just lay there, still as a cardboard. Next morning I was fine, just a few minor side effects but the stomachache was gone. But seriously, I could have died from that chicken Sando. It would've not been a great way to go either -- death by chicken sandwich. Either way, the shake was good, and the chicken Sando was sufficiently flavorful and packed with sauces (only complaint is it was too runny). I will probably be back, but get at most the 2nd spiciest level. Never again the Angry Hot for me again, lol. First and last time for that spice level experience.

we ordered about ~32 chicken sandwiches for a surprise birthday party, and they were so neatly packaged. We didn't eat it for at least 2 hours after pick up but they tasted so fresh and everyone was so full afterwards. these sandwiches are MASSIVE and delicious! we ate to our hearts content- it was many of our first times trying this restaurant but a lot of people asked where this was from so that they could go back. i don't have much of a tolerance for spice but the medium was perfect, not too spicy. the no heat ones come with sauce on the side so that was perfect for anyone who's unsure of their spice level! wings were also delicious- fresh and well coated with a soy glaze. the spicy ones had a nice kick to them. last of all, the staff were very friendly and sweet. spoke directly to the owner Amy, who was super accommodating and helped me order the right amount for the large party! we'll be back soon! thank you Hangry Joe's :)

I always enjoy coming to this location because the wings are so fresh and juicy. The service is fine and location is easily accessible, but I seriously love their wings, dry rub, medium spice. I've tried many other locations but this one is by far my favorite.

Well, I've been living in this Vienna/Oakton region for about one full year now and I've tried out a ton of different restaurants in the region, but I will have to say... This Hangry Joe's chicken is a home run and I'll be visiting quite frequently. I've been to Nashville in the past so I've had the opportunity to try Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches from a wide range of restaurants inckuding the original one at Hattie B's. Although it is pretty darn hard to replicate, this Hangry Joe chicken restaurant is top notch. First off, the menu is pretty simple so it isn't overwhelming when you go ahead and review the menu before selecting what you want. And then the spice levels are clearly indicated so you can go ahead and choose what you can deal with. I always go with the medium, but sometimes even mild is pretty good enough for me. The restaurant owners and employees are all very friendly during the times I've visited and I look forward to seeing them more often as I grab a chicken sandwich after one of my soccer games or during a lunch break since I'm closeby. Honestly, if you're in the area and even considering trying this place out, please, listen to my 2 cents and go check it out and you WON'T be disappointed. It's delicious, huge portion sizes, and the flavors knock it out of the park.

My boyfriend is NOT foreign to spice... keeps a "Da Bomb" hot sauce bottle in the fridge, we consider him "sick" if he has any meal without hot sauce... He tried the hottest spice level at Hangry Joe's. Signed the waiver (they aren't joking... there is literally a waiver you have to sign...), took his tenders home... First bite, "it's spicy... waiver worthy? Maybe..." later that night, he felt real stomach pains... from a guy who hides pain and says "it's not that bad I don't need a doctor" about most things in life, he admitted this pain! Went out for Pepto Bismol at 11:45 PM just before CVS closed. He had to drink lots of water and have some bland foods to get rest that evening... Still went for the 1.5 tenders that were leftover 2 days later haha. Stomach lain again that night. So be prepared! He won't be getting that level of spice again... that is saying something. (I stayed far away from this place because I can't tolerate even mild heat and they don't have a non-spice option except no seasoning at all.)

Welcome to the area! I love this fusion of South Korea and Tennessee! What a great concept that's been executed well. First off staff and service are exceptional. Also this restaurant is very clean. That is important, as is the comfortable seating area. Parking is plentiful, and I hope you'll give these folks a try. This chain is moving into the DC area, and it's one you should try. The hot chicken sandwich with coleslaw rocks. You'll also enjoy the chicken nuggets. For the non hot crowd, have no fear. They have no seasoning or soy garlic as a possibility. Yet I say bring on the heat. The hottest one, requires a medical waiver signature. In my younger years I'd have been all over that. The food here is delicious, and will be back. Thank you to all the staff who work here, very well done!

The portions for the chicken sando were huge! We got the chicken sando (medium) combo that came with waffle fries and a drink + chicken fingers (hot). The hot and medium were pretty much the same spice level. The slaw on the sando kind of threw me off because it was sweet, but I still enjoyed it. When you order at the kiosk it has a spice warning before ordering for hot, but it was definitely tolerable spice! I thought it was going to be too spicy but it was pretty flavorful. You could definitely share a sandwich as meal! The hangry sauce paired well with everything and they give you lots of sauces!

There are a number of Korean chicken places in the area and I hope to try more of them. Hangry Joe's is in a convenient location next to a Chinese restaurant I really like so I've peaked inside but had not ordered from them until today. I ordered the chicken fingers, 4 nice size pieces along with waffle fries, a slice of white bread, a few slices of pickles and a few containers of mayochup...I think, might be wrong, but I can tell you the sauce worked better than straight ketchup with both the chicken and the fries. Ordered the breaded chicken medium in heat which was just right. The sauce helped to balance off that heat. Thr chicken was juicy and not at all dried out. The fries had a bit of a crunch but were tender inside which I really like. Good pickles too and the whole thing went well with a Pepsi. Good value for the about $14 spent. Nice portion. The staff was friendly too. I do recommend this place.

no heat- but definitely a lot of heat

I recently ordered from here & maybe it was a one off, but it was not a good experience. I ordered the chicken fingers meal with fries- with spice & no heat. I was just interested in trying their chicken, but didn't want something super spicy on this day- maybe that was my mistake ordering from here. The box said "no heat" on it, but the chicken was still visibly red from the spicy sauce. The fries were so over cooked that they were hard, not crunchy. The pickles were really crispy and fresh- i liked that. I ordered more a side of "extra ranch" and I was sent a package of cesar salad dressing? I also ordered the peach mango slush and it was the best part of the meal. It really helped offset the heat of the chicken. I'm not sure what went wrong, but based off of this experience I wouldn't order from this location again.

I am a lover of Nashville Hot Chicken and decided to try Hangry Joes since it is a short drive from my house. Location is nice since it right in the Oakton shopping center with plenty of parking. The restaurant itself has a few tables and was quite clean. I ordered the hot chicken tender platter that came with waffle fries and a drink. The chicken itself was good but didn't have the kick, juiciness or flavor that I've found at other local spots. Waffle fries weren't great and had clearly been sitting outside of the frier for a while. I did enjoy the dipping sauce and pickle slices that came on the side. Overall a good spot if you are in Oakton but not the best in northern va.

I came here tonight for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed my food. I ordered the chicken sando, mild, with no pickles & no slaw. I also ordered an oreo milkshake with coffee jelly. I love that they have self service kiosks and I got my drink & food in a timely manner. The Oreo milkshake was delicious and I loved the coffee jelly! My sandwich was piping hot and fresh. The piece of chicken was HUGE and juicy and the sauce is delicious. The mild spice level was perfect. I definitely plan on ordering from here again!

No residual grease on the serving plate/box. We've tried the wings, the chicken sandwich, and chicken & waffle (tenders). All items were very good. The only thing I didn't care for is coleslaw. It's little too sweet for me. I think next time I'm gonna go for Mac & cheese or spinach as the side. Also, they have options for mumbo sauce and honey mustard. The service was also great. The food came out within reasonable time. The guy who took order was helpful and patient.
