I had the best experience on my visit this past Monday. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I brought in a kitten I rescued from some bushes and they took such good care of him. I got in right away, they gave him a toy and everyone treated him like a celebrity. Their prices are reasonable and the hospital is cozy and clean. I will be going here from now on. I drive from Aurora, IL (90 minutes) just for Dr. Hawrysio, Wiebke, and April to take care of my 4 dogs. They are honest, have the best interest of each dog in mind, and truly care about each and every animal. I went there for first time and really cared for my dog. my dog had bad infection on his stomach. my dog is on antibot to heal and pain medicine so he isn't in pain. my dog feeling better already he is going bathroom more and I can tell my dog is slowly getting better. the groomer shaved to close on my dog and he was really red they told me would heal but never did. I tried get my dog in to other vet I had but doctor only works two days a week. they don't work around my schedule. Hanover the doctor sees doctors almost everyday and fits my schedule better. everyone there is really nice and didnt blame me from not bring my dog in sooner but I still blame myself should have switched vets sooner. I believe in power of Peter and I have been praying to god heal my dog. To heal my dog cost is 1100 dollars so I am paying what I can afford and every week will do another treatment on my dog. My credit isn't good do I have to do it this way. Too bad they don't have payment plans so my dog could get better faster. The place is nice and clean and is really nice inside I was surprised how nice it was. This is my dogs new vet doctor. I recommend this place 100 percent. read more

My experience with Hanover Vet was amazing. This was my first visit, and the front desk person was really nice, her name was April. This was during the time when we could not go into the lobby. So, the person who came out to get my dog was so helpful and pleasant, Jocelyn. Then on my second visit, we were able to go into the lobby, Covid restrictions had lessened. When you talk about the "Fear Free" clinic. They actually lived up to the name. My dog Prince has very high anxiety around strangers. They made him very comfortable, so yes, I will continue to use this Vet. I have used other vets in this area and have always been extremely disappointed. The medications are kind of high, you do have other options. But, for the most and my dog was comfortable, so it is worth it. read more

This animal clinic does not deserve even one star. That is one star too many. The doctor Justin Knoll was beyond rude via the phone during this pandemic. The staff told us one thing and they did not follow through as they should for our dog. Please stay far away and do not ever go here for anything for your pets needs. My daughter even reminded me of Justin Knoll's rudeness when seeing our cat earlier this year and his comments about "let's get this over with". Stay far away! read more

I will be changing vets as I am very disappointed in the care over the last year! I feel every time I go in they are wanting to send me to Purdue and are doing unnecessary tests. I recently rescued a puppy n told he had a grade 5 heart murmur n possibly had ringworm but would have to wait for culture. I was charged 300 dollars n given a shampoo, nothing for the ringworm which is highly contagious! The next day I went to Lowell n was told the murmur was not that bad and given antibiotics, anti fungal and a cream for skin for fraction of the cost. read more

I started taking our felines to Hanover Vet Hospital soon after seeing their Free Vaccines for Life Program as I drove past the hospital. I called to make an appointment to tour the facility. I transferred all my cats to Hanover shortly after with the exception of our oldest Ella who was under the care of another clinic. I did not want to transfer her since she had several chronic illnesses (Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Hyperthyroidism) and her history was all with her current vet. Worst decision I made. I should have transferred her to Hanover when she was diagnosed in 2015. Ella suffered an IBD flair and did not respond to anti-nausea medication and stopped eating. I called her vet knowing that in all probability we would have to put her down and they could could not fit her in. Enter Hanover...Hanover got her on the schedule, got her records faxed to them, examined her and we discussed all the options. We decided that euthanasia would be the best options. Losing a family member is difficult, but it was done with the highest level of professionalism, care and compassion for both Ella and her pet-parents. Hanover Vet Hospital had our back when her regular veterinarian did not. We've had several pet-accidents this year (ruptured CCL and meniscus, a one story fall on hardwood and and lacerated paw pad), and each time Hanover performed with this high level of professionalism, care and compassion. They are truly a client centered practice committed to developing a relationship with pet and human. You won't find that at many practices. read more

I have had pets all my life. I am 53 and have been to many different Vets. Growing up in Chicago we had plenty to pick from. 20 years ago we moved to Indiana. I tried many over here. I'm not picky but I expect you to figure out what is wrong with my animal. After a few vets I came across Hanover Vet. A new doctor took over from the previous vet. This amazing Vet is DR. Bieszczak. After going there for wellness visits free shots for life, I'll take that thank you. My Cane Corso wasn't acting right. I knew something was wrong. He had an idea what it might be and drew blood for testing. He thought it might be Addison's and it was. This was pretty amazing since diagnosis usually comes after they have a crisis and almost die. My dog is under control and we go for a monthly shot. The staff is the best ever. Every single one of them. Many of them own mastiffs, which is awesome. Corsos are not the friendliest of dogs. The girls here have ZERO problems with him. The office made it a fear free vet. My other Corso needed her cherry eye removed. She was a rescue and another vet did the surgery and tacked it incorrectly. When her other cherry eye popped out. I took her to Hanover. DR. Bieszczak doesn't do the surgery but, he has a doctor come in to do it. This doctor to is amazing. I dont have the doctors name but he is an orthopedic surgeon. He fixed both eyes. I will update this review when I get it. So if you are looking for an awesome place to take your pets give them a try. Right now I have 4 dogs and 2 cats. read more

We were loyal for 15 years to this business with our dog. After getting a recent bill and finding it exceedingly high, a verbal "f*ck" was uttered in response, which they took personal offense to. We don't have much money and we had a large bill to take care of our dog. Even after we had immediately apologized, they called the next day and responded to the verbal comment by kicking us out of their network. This was after the last three visits of our dog not having her hair cut properly or how we had always had it. This is unacceptable. Our dog is a part of our family and they turned their back after 15 years due to a comment not even directed at anyone other than a price tag (and it wasn't even an unfair price, just a steep bill). This business does not have your family in mind nor your furry friend's wellness. It has gone downhill since a new doctor stepped in and I will not recommend this place to anyone again. read more

I give them NO stars. I took my six year old kitty there to find out why her stomach was getting larger and larger. They gave me a cost for the diagnostics and it was almost $900, I said I couldn't afford that, so the doctor did some figuring and got it down to about $600. I wanted to know what was wrong so they did X-rays and came back saying the she had two growths in her abdominal cavity that were pushing on her other organs. She would need MRI's, CT's, surgery and specialists to see what we were dealing with. I was in tears and was told that everything would cost around 2-3 thousand dollars! I do NOT have that kind of money and walked out with my kitty thinking I was going to watch her die at home. After everything she went through, at home she began to ooze puss and it lasted for several days. Her stomach is just about back to normal, she eats like a little pig, plays with her catnip toys and annoys the other two of my kitties. She is back to almost normal again!!! And they had me thinking I had to spend thousands to get her well! I was beside myself! They NEVER tested her for any sort of infection, because if they did, MAYBE they would have found out she only needed an antibiotic and she'd be fine!! But, NO! I believe that they saw $$$$$ and that's all. I will NEVER return to them NOR will I recommend them to anyone, unless you have money to burn, which most do not! They had her dying and with maybe cancer! AFTER all the testing that 'needed" to be done!! Perhaps others have had great experiences with this place, but this was my one and only experience and I won't go through it again! I do NOT recommend them as I feel they charge more than the average and the bottom line to them is the $$$$, not the pet or the owner. read more

Highly disappointed & angry. I was looking to board my special needs dog for 11 days. I thought what better place than at his vet. When I picked him up he smelled awful. According to the manager they wash and change bedding everyday. Evidently not true my dog smelled like he had laid in wet bedding for several days. There were other issues, too long to vent. This was just supposed to be a vent that I wasn't going to post but I don't think anyone deserves to go through the trauma I did while working as a kennel attendant. I am generally a very strong person but It's been over a year and I still have PTSD from working there. I think about it almost daily how they treated me and the things they had me do and were done to me, anything they didn't want to do was left up to me because their time was more valuable. The time they had me walk over to pick up a dead puppy that was hit on the side of the road and bring it back to the hospital dripping in blood, then had me scrub the blood from the parking lot all while I was having a mental breakdown about feeling it's ribs cracking in my arms as I carried it back to the hospital to be put in a freezer. The emaciated beagle that came in to be boarded that was literally starving to death and no one cared but me and was eventually just given back to her owner. The time I was cornered and mauled by a Husky that had previously attacked another employee but they didn't think that it was important to tell me until after the incident. The fake sympathy I got from Dr.B, Laura and Connie when all I was was a maid to them. Scrubbing their dishes, taking out their trash, cleaning their office, cleaning their bathrooms, taking care of their pets, cleaning their bloody surgery tools, clean and organize the whole hospital, picking up the messes they so carelessly made when I was the only one there from 6pm to 10pm at night all while still having to help vet techs, feed, medicate, calm down animals that were upset, take care of surgery patients, do laundry/fold it/put it away, clean cages often, let all of the animals out twice and then close down the hospital by myself. The time I was left alone at 9pm at night with a surgery patient that almost bled out because of a loose stitch and when I tried calling for help they kept telling me to call other people so I held pressure on the wound until my hands were shaking and covered in blood and help finally arrived 30 minutes later. Then I had to scrub the blood from the floors and clean the hospital like nothing ever happened. did I mention that this dog was also covered in ticks that they were fully aware of which I was not made aware of until I came home and found one on me? The time I lifted up a heavy box from the counter (again alone at night) that I thought was empty and opened to find someones deceased dog they had forgotten inside and when I questioned it they told me the person who was supposed to pick it up supposedly got into an accident but they waited to tell me until I asked. The time they made me search through the woods for 3 hours in the summer heat to find a dog that had dug under the fence, then made to go back and take care of all the other animals and clean the whole hospital as usual. These are only a few of the incidents that occurred in my year of working as a kennel attendant that have caused me so much emotional trauma at Hanover Veterinary Hospital. And to top it all off I was fired because of an angry customer who had canceled her bath/grooming appointment last minute was furious that their elderly dog who spent the weekend and had urinary incontinence smelled of urine from her urinating on her bed and sleeping on it the night before she was supposed to be scheduled for a bath but had canceled. read more

AMAZING. Best vet and best staff around. Dr. B. Is amazing. Went in for lab work on my Sally girl (who has behavior issues. I call her my special dog) on a Monday. Dr. B. Went on vacation the next day. Before we left, I knew which vet was going to call me and a tentative game plan. When my dogs labs came back, they here much higher than we were expecting and some how Dr. B knew and the vet told me he was going to be calling me with a new game plan him self. I said no he is on vacation. He was on Vacation, calling around, trying to see what was going to be the best thing for my dog. The Vet Techs would call me and check on me to make sure I didn't have questions and to make sure she was ok. Monday when Dr. B came back to clinic, I get a call by 10 am with a game plan. AMAZING!!!!! I have boarded my dog. I get amazing feedback when I pick her up. I call several times a day when she is there and I NEVER feel like I am bothering them. They are like family to me.
