Horrible, tried getting my nails done here they kept on rushing me when I was still trying to pick a color that I wanted they asked me 3 times if I was ready in less than 5 mins, already a bad start.. told the lady what I wanted and she did it very messy, unprofessional, and in a rush kept leaving to do another ladies feet and nails, I ended up having to stop her from doing my nails because of how disappointed I was with her work and how uncomfortable I had already felt as I told her I would just pay for what she had already done in the process she gave me a attitude asked for the money walked away and while giving it to her she stayed silent. Here in Montrose (LA crescenta) there aren't many options for beauty stores, so with that in mind, this becomes my first choice when I'm looking for a particular hair product that I don't feel like going to the salon to pay double the cost. Hans is always having a sale and although the selection isn't amazing, they usually have what you're looking for. Horrible! This review is because of the horrible way that the nail salon treated my wife today. They are dishonest and money hungry! My wife went to drop in for a pedicure. She asked if they could fit her in, they said sure the wait is about 15 minutes. No problem, she had a seat. About 15 minutes go by and then 2 women walk in and take a seat to wait too. Thats when one of the nail ladies comes by and tells my wife that she'll have to leave because the 2 pm appointments came after all. Now if they were honest at the beginning and said "We can try to fit you in, but we have some people coming at 2. If they don't show then we can fit you in." That would be fine. Instead they had me wife waste her time waiting because they wanted to have a back up if the appointment didn't show. Unacceptable! My wife has been going once a month for over a year. No more. Don't be rude to your customers and maybe you'll keep them! read more

Giving this place 2 stars for carrying Alterna but the prices are completely off what normal retail prices go for. You're better off at Sephora. Good place to go for hair brushes but not much else. Hans Beauty Store is awesome. Customer service for this place is top notch. I bought a flat iron from them (for my gf), but later decided to return it because of a better model with a slightly cheaper price tag. There was no hassle in returning the item either. Its a family based business and the owner is very nice. She gave us a free sample of hair gel! All she wanted was for me to be happy. This is what's missing in a lot of businesses today. Customer satisfaction first. This will be the #1 supply beauty store of choice for me. The prices for products are a lot cheaper than stores at the Mall or even Target. My rating is for the hair salon... Don't judge a book by it's cover. The salon part looks outdated and a bet unkept to say the best about it. However my experience with one of their stylist Christina Cataldi has been the best ever in 20 years of having my hair colored and cut. Christina is a color specialist and very professional stylist. What I love about her is she knows color shades and how they will work on certain textured hair types. I've had a lot of problems with my hair fading and drying out. With Christina my hair has been think and the color well maintained. Secondarily she does beautiful color mixtures and has a focus on attention to detail. Her cuts are that of a high priced salon. Her prices are below L.A. prices and very affordable. I highly recommend her personally. You can walk in and schedule an appt as she's near the front of the salon. read more

"I have been going to the nail salon for years partly because i like to relax in the massage chair and I ALWAYS leave a $10 tip. But 2 weeks ago I made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure at 3:00. I arrived at 3:00 and was told by Stephanie that it would be 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I was still waiting when a chair became available. I was told to take a seat at a nail table instead. When I asked about the chair, Stephanie told me that a customer who had come in after me for just a pedicure was taking the chair. I was being denied the chair because I booked both a manicure AND pedicure? I feel like this was wrong and unfair treatment of a long standing client. I was so irrtitated that I left without service. Since I prefer to shop locally and I enjoy shopping for beauty products, I was so excited to find Han's Beauty Supply Store in the Ralph's shopping center. It's been my first stop whenever I want to try a new nail polish or hair product. The prices are a little higher than Target or their next door neighbor, Rite Aid, but I'll happily pay a little more to a local business owner to help keep them thriving in the community. Today, I had the worst customer experience at Han's and I'm deeply disappointed, so much so that after this issue is resolved I will be avoiding the store for quite some time. Recently, they changed their system to include a chip scanner and offer the convenience of having your receipts texted or emailed-- which I loved because it showed they are tech saavy and committed to moving towards paperless transactions. As with all technology shifts there are glitches and problems, but the mark of an exceptional store is how they handle those glitches when a customer comes in. Han's has not trained their employees on customer service and they do not have viable back up plans for when their systems fail which lead to my frustrating experience today. Today, I attempted to return an OPI nail polish trio I purchased on Friday that I ended up not needing over the weekend. Mondays are my only days to run errands, so I stopped in on my way to pick up my children from school expecting to return the item (still in it's original packaging and unused), receive my refund and leave happy (as I have in past shopping experiences at Han's). When Sami, the associate on duty didn't know how to refund my card with the new system (even though she found my transaction) she called three people for help: her co-worker, her manager, and the owner. My two kids and I waited for almost 30 minutes for Sami to figure out refunds with the new system but she could not-- no one knew how to authorize a refund so, I was told my options were to take a gift card or come back tomorrow to have Ben help. Since I do not want a gift card (and am not obligated to take one since there is no signage to that effect in the store), I'm forced to take time out of my week again to go back to Han's I was incredibly disappointed! How do I know if I come back they'll be able to process the refund? Again, I understand the need for patience when it comes to technology, BUT it's the store's job to mitigate those frustrations for the customer to ensure a pleasant shopping experience. This is a very busy week for me at work and the inconvenience of wasting thirty minutes on a transaction that would have taken five minutes at Macy's combined with Sami's shaming me for not taking the gift card, "If you would just take the gift card then there won't be a problem" makes me hesitant to shop their again. I would avoid Han's for a few months until they have refined their system. Maybe they'll be firing at cylinders by Small Business Saturday. I hope so, because they do have wonderful stocking stuffers and gift sets for Christmas. read more

I got what's call a gentleman's facial last week because I am getting a lot of acne, some due to ingrown hairs. The extraction part is the only part that wasn't nice but the rest was great. I like the mask toward the end of the facial most. Only a few days later I see a great improvement in my skin. This is the worst store I have ever been to. The store manager Michelle is a joke. I had an item to return and went the the store. There was a timid lady working at the counter saying she can't handle returns and was saying, I have to wait until Michelle the manager comes. I was waiting for a while a bit annoyed because this manager can not be bothered when she is stocking items. Then finally this angry unhappy lady appears saying she can't accept the return because the hair curler was used. I understood her point but the way she said it and her nasty attitude made me so upset I literally told her I will never be stepping a foot into the store. One more thing she said was that she uses the curler on her hair everyday so she sees no problem with the product. But she has the ugliest shortest frizzy hair. I should have asked her first then I would have never purchased the product. I can fully understand stores like Hans don't stand a chance anymore with Amazon and online stores but sitting in a sinking ship sulking and being rude is going to only sink it faster. The owner should fire Michelle then maybe this will bring a few more customers until it runs out if business. read more

I was a bit skeptical getting a facial in a nail salon, but had time to kill so went for it. All I can say is "WOW!!" This is now my new "to go place" and Amy did such a wonderful job with my facial and waxing that I could've been at a fancy resort without emptying the bank. I had a pedicure done before Halloween - nearly 2 months ago - it still looks fantastic! Yes, its grown out, but no chips at all. My friend and I had appointments and could not figure out why it was taking so long. Then we got a phone call - turns out our appt was at La Canada and we were in La Crescenta. Oops. No problem. They stil got us out of there when we needed to (to pick up our preschoolers) and the La Canada store said "no problem" and were very polite. I'm finally going back tomorrow to get a mani pedi. I hate sitting still, but I love the massage chairs, so I'm looking forward to it, not dreading it like I usually do. read more

Sometimes it is hard to understand them as their English isn't so good, but these guys really know how to satisfy a customer and do an honest business. They are great for hair and nails.
