On 6/28./13 Greg Kelso came to the home to visit regarding a move from Santa Rosa, Ca, to Grandview, MO. My elderly mother was doing a partial "upheaval" to move to our home. We toured the home, doing a rough estimate of what she planned to take and what would stay behind. We had two reliable referrals from family & friends and contracted the move to begin 7/2 with the packing and loading of the vehicle. Greg, Hanne, Gregory and Greta arrived at 8am and went right to work. We had marked items, including furniture, knick knacks, dishes and clothing (lots of clothing) and plants that were to be taken. The family spread throughout the house and worked until 2pm, stopped for a quick lunch and picked up again, working until 5:30pm. A rental truck was used as it was more economical for Greg to drive it instead of bringing an empty truck from Missouri to California. Although we kept adding and subtracting items during the day, the Kelso's managed to keep up their spirits and remained upbeat, smiing and understanding. Greg drove the truck straight through to Grandview and arrived on the 4th of July to drop off several large items at one home, then drove to the next stop to unload everything else with one exception. He had planned to hire someone in KC, but because of the holiday could not find a willing helper. My husband was extremely impressed that Greg easily handled the heavy, unwieldy furniture and boxes so handily. In fact, he liked Greg so much that they ordered pizza and relaxed for a couple hours shooting the breeze. The next morning, Greg returned to our home and delivered a large antique workbench directly to our son's truck bed and then left for the airport to catch the next available flight to San Francisco. Greg and his two children came by the Santa Rosa home to have my mother sign off on the move, give her a lovely bottle of Chardonnay and helped set up a TV in place of the one taken to Missouri (she and I remained in the home for another week before flying to KC). After reading some of the horror stories on line, including the delays between pack up and actual delivery, we are so grateful for the outstanding care and professional handling of possessions and emotions. I have finally finished unpacking 62 boxes and arranging furniture. I am happy to report that everything, including some very fragile antiques, important personal items and fussy plants arrived in A-plus condition. We made the choice to use Hansen's Moving & Storage for several reasons. Greg was professional, personal yet has a no-nonsense approach. Very upfront and honest. Their estimate was in the middle of our other estimates but competitive. I liked the local, family-run business with no middle man or agents. Greg and his wife, Hannah (hope that spelling is correct!), were always willing to take my calls, e-mails or texts. We made a significant move on June 3 to June 5, 2019 from Santa Rosa, CA to Reno, NV which was, at times, overwhelming. Greg and team were always there to answer questions or reassure me that everything would be just fine......And, it was! BEST MOVERS WE HAVE EVER USED Greg Kelso (and his crew) of Hansen's Moving in Santa Rosa are outstanding! We have used several movers in the past, with some level of disappointment. Not only was Hansen's group conscientious, professional and extremely careful...they also gave us the lowest bid. We had an especially complicated move involving a shuttle at the front end in California, and unloading to two areas at the back end in Colorado which they handled easily and without complaint. Greg also provided extra wardrobe boxes and mattress covers for all of our beds, which were going into temporary storage. I would use Hansen's again in the blink of an eye! Hansen's Moving & Storage Windsor CA, handled our move from Sonoma County to Yolo County 8/30/2025. I can't say enough about this crew, they were amazing! This was a big move for us and they made it a piece of cake! They sure made it look easy in 105 degree weather!
