This little place has great food and awesome service. I ate here two times and both times the food was great. The baked chicken sandwich with bacon, cheese and jalapeño bread is the best. This is located in the back of the Hansville Grocery, so a lot of people aren't even aware it exists. It's small, but the food is excellent, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. The menu is surprisingly big for such a hole in the wall. The sassy young waitress that served us was very entertaining and did a fantastic job. Definitely check it out. I had one of the best salads I have ever eaten. It was the Caesar chicken chop-chop. I love the fact that everything was chopped small even the croutons. The ingredients are not for your normal Caesar Salad along with the chicken was loads of fresh cooked bacon, tomatoes plus a very good dressing. All of this was very filling. I live in Hansville and really really want to give the Hansgrill more stars, but it's almost ridiculous trying to get food here. Whether it's packed, or their are just a couple other people eating, the service is just terrible. Don't get me wrong, everyone is very nice, but that's only if they notice you sitting awkwardly trying to make eye contact. If you are lucky enough to get served food, I guarantee it'll be really good, but just be prepared for a loooonnnnnggg wait. We ate before a bird watching outing. It is very close to Norwegian Point. It had a spectacular view of MT Baker. The staff was very friendly. The old guys (regulars) that hang out in the morning were funny & full of birding tips. Breakfast was good solid standard American big portions. They had soy, almond or hemp milk as alternatives to cream for coffee (relief). Clean restroom. We will definitely be back. read more

Spent a warm June 6th day at Norwegian Point, and decided to get take-away to eat in the park. I have never had issues with the excellent food at Hansgrill, just bad table service. The genuine and friendly grocery clerk took my order which was promply delivered to me by the cleancut and also pleasant cook. The sandwiches were reasonable and absolutely delicious... the food ALWAYS is here. I love Hansville and want this establishment to be that little place at the end of the road I look forward to driving to for great food at fair prices (already there) and small town service that matches. Recent visit adds 2 addition stars from my last review, good job! read more

This could be such a gem in Hansville. But the service is horrible. The staff is nice enough but they don't know how to take care of more then one table. We went in on Tuesday night and took the last two tables. The bar seats and other tables were full so we expected a wait. The one man waiter kept taking care of the bar and a large party at a table. We and another table just sat and watched for 18 min (no joke), without even water being offered. We watched as he took the large tables drink orders, took care of the bar customers, took all the drinks to the large table, handed out food to the bar, and then still did not take our drink order. He went back to the large table and took their food order. I'm a patient person but waiting that long for a drink when you have kids is frustrating. We all got up and left. If they could have had more staff working or even a good waiter we would have waited it out. read more

This is the worst service I have had! We were visiting the area and had a party of five. The guy serving us made us feel as though we were a burden to be sitting. They had 1 large table And said that next time we needed to make reservations if we wanted to eat there. When we sat down he took our drink orders and one ordered a soda. We thought it would be a fountain drink but instead he grabbed a bottled soda from the store next door and slammed in on the table. Didn't even say if there was a price difference or that it was going to be in a bottle. Our friend who has a gluten allergy wanted to get breakfast (that is served until 1:00). It was 12:45 and she was looking at the breakfast menu and immediately came to the table and said "we not serving breakfast" and we were like oh really and then again he made sure we knew that he was not serving breakfast. It wasn't what he said but it was the way he talked to us. He never smiled or even made us feel welcomed. We were coming because we wanted to try a local place in the area and this place was a HUGE disappointment. We will never come back to this restaurant. I would tell you about the food but we walked out before he could be more disrespectful to us. And to make matters worse he flipped us off as we walked out. Terrible. We did get some awesome service and the casino down the street. Highly recommended and we actually enjoyed the food. read more
