Recently been introduced to the joys of running - nope, not being sarcastic either! I was wearing really bad/beat up tennis shoes and my gym partner suggested Hansons Running Shop as a place to check out for running shoes since she bought her shoes from there. She said how the shoes she got were like running on air and never felt more comfortable in a pair of running shoes. Visited Hansons on a Friday evening and was quickly greeted by a worker. I told him I needed some new running shoes. I took off my shoes and got on a machine that analyzes the pressure points you have in your feet. I was surprised to see that my pressure points were in my heels! I also got my feet measured to ensure my right size. I sat down and the worker got me started on 3 different shoes. All 3 fit perfectly and felt amazing but he told me to start walking around the store and comparing the shoes. The worker let me take my time and was not pushy. I asked to have a 4th pair to try out but quickly resorted to the pair I tried on first. I was happy with my decision and the shoes felt like a hug for my foot. I have never been so comfortable in a running shoe before! I got a pair of Brooks and the cost was $120.00. Sure, it is a bit much for a pair of shoes but my commitment to running and the support I needed was well worth the price. However, other shoe stores run similar prices but the customer service at Hansons is well above the rest. My first run with my new Hansons shoes could not even compare to my old shoes! I was able to run a lot faster with my new running shoes since I had the correct support in my heels and overall felt supported. My legs also did not hurt after running like my old shoes. Hansons has a lot of other great products besides shoes! Exercise clothing and other accessories. I would never go anywhere else when I need a new pair of running shoes! read more

Ok, I didn't buy shoes but I ran in to use the bathroom. They were so nice about letting me use it. Most places make you buy something and I was fully prepared to!! So many times workers can be rude. This is an establishment that didn't mind. I have crohn's and sometimes it hits hard.. I've been denied, I've been told you have to buy something, for them being so great i would recommend them. A million thanks could never be enough for them being so polite. It so would of ended bad for me. Thanks, again Hanson's for being so kind. read more

Took my son to get running shoes. For $150 you would think they would tie his shoes and check the width and length. NOPE! I had to ask them to check his shoe fit. Didn't tie any of the pairs of shoes. Just kept giving us more shoe to try and figure it out for ourselves. We walked out. I will not return to this place. What a joke. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff- helped me figure out I was wearing the wrong style and size shoe. My one year old was chatting the whole time and I never was made to feel embarrassed that I had to have him in there with me. Yes I moved to lake Orian four years ago each year I buy a new pair of running shoes from Hansons. I have always been pleased with the customer service prompt and knowledgeable. Yesterday although when I purchased my annual new pair $160 I told them that I had purchased three pairs prior, they have a record of purchases obviously ,you get a card to be stamped for discounts four pairs and the next is 40% off. My name was in the system they looked it up and saw how many shoes I bought but without the card they explained you cannot get the discount because the card is interchangeable with other store locations and people in the family. Well... they have just lost my business and everyone I know. Clearly my name was the only name used for the last four years and yet they still refused to give me the discount $40 off. I called this greed and unwise business practices. read more

I went in to Hanson's today with my three- and one-year olds tentative that I would get anything accomplished with their distractions. The two women in the store were so knowledgeable and provided me with several pairs of shoes to try on. She looked at the bottom of my shoes and immediately knew which foot had been bothering me and she did an arch analysis to help find the shoes that were right for my feet. All this with kids running around and definitely not being perfectly behaved. They were patient, understanding and wonderful. I left with a new pair of shoes, sunglasses and a running light. If you are a new or experienced runner, you must go to a specialized shop like Hanson's to find the right shoes. Thanks again for a great experience. read more

Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the various shoes and the pros and cons of each. For anyone who struggles to find comfortable shoes to run, walk, etc. this place only carries shoes that are high quality. I bought two pairs and will defiantly be coming back to buy more. read more

The staff here is excellent. I brought my 13 year old in for shoes. They let her try on everything and even let her try them out on their treadmill. Kevin Hanson was so nice and welcoming. We talked about some of their running programs and camps they offer as well. Could not have had a nicer visit. read more

This was my first purchase at this shop. I was fitted for shoes that were recommended to me by the sales rep and was told that I have high arches. After years of running this was news to me seeing that I've never had any trouble, but--against my better judgement--I "trusted the pros" and purchased the recommended shoe. After running in these shoes I developed very painful soreness in my arches, something that I've never experienced (again, I've been running for years). I called Hanson's explaining the situation and the told me that I was out of luck because I wore them outside. They offered me no solutions, and only offered to sell me a better fitting shoe. No customer care, no accommodating service. If they were able to work with me on this situation I would have told everyone how wonderful they are, but now I'm just frustrated and disappointed...and sore. I'm off to Runnin' Gear. read more

Hanson's stores are really the best places to go for running gear. It's the only business I've bought my running shoes from for many years. The only staff they seem to hire are themselves all running enthusiasts. And they know how to make sure you get a great fit. Their merchandise is top notch. I needed a new pair of running shoes to start off the new year right. I came here upon recommendation and I'm glad I did. After numerous problems with other shoes, I wanted a professional opinion on which shoe I should purchase. The fella that helped me was great. He had me take my shoes off and watched the way I walked, asked me about my issues, and brought me out the shoes he thought would work for me. I tried on several pairs and ran around the store testing them out. This must have went on for at least a 1/2 hour and he didn't complain once :) I found THE pair and can't wait to run in them.
