Happy Lamb Hot Pot never disappoints. The service is great--they're always attentive and quick to get us whatever we need. The ambiance is on point, with beautiful decorations that change with the seasons and really add to the experience. The food is consistently amazing. The never-ending spicy broth is our go-to every time, and the dumplings are always fresh and flavorful. The oysters are another standout and a must-order. Overall, great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I'm giving Happy Lamb Hot Pot a 3.5-star rating because while the experience was decent, it didn't quite hit that 4- or 5-star mark for me. The restaurant is clean and the service was efficient, but the ingredient selection left me a little disappointed. Specifically, I was really craving watercress to balance out the heavy meats, but they didn't have it on the menu during my visit. . Aside from that, everything else was pretty okay. The lamb was sliced thin and tasted fresh, and the signature herbal bone broth had that nice, fragrant aroma Happy Lamb is known for. The fish balls and tofu were standard quality, and the dipping sauce station was well-stocked and tidy. It's a reliable spot if you're in the neighborhood and want a consistent, middle-of-the-road hot pot meal, but the lack of certain vegetable variety kept it from being a standout experience.

This place... everything was AhMazing. The food. So fresh and tasty. The service. The sweetest EVER. I would go back just to be friends with the sweetest chica I think I've met my in whole life. I'm 47. I've met a ton of people. You get seated. You order whatever kind of broth you wanna cook in. There's also an option to have a split pot so you can have two different options. You order the meats you want served to your table then you get other foods off the buffet. Such a great little time with whomever you're with. Well. As long as you're enjoying your company. The bathrooms were clean. Note: Would totally make reservations. We waited for about an hour. This was absolutely our fault. Paid street parking. I 100% recommend. I will definitely be back...

Loved our server! We went in an hour before closing and he told us to take our time and made sure we were full. They redecorated the hallway which was super cute. The food options are less than I remember but maybe because we went a little late.

I've been to the location in Chinatown before but this was my first time in Bridgeport. There is a standard dining section and several rooms for larger parties. My fiancé and I we seated in one of these rooms with a group of ladies, a small barrier diving the table. To be clear this was not meant to be like a hibachi situation. It was intento be two separate tables. I didn't like this. We all talked in normal voices and there was no "overlap" but it was awkward. That being said the food was great. We got each of the lamb options, the Wagu and ribeye. All were delicious. I think the buffet in Chinatown has a bigger selection. I also enjoyed my Mai Thai. Overall it was still a good date night but I will ask to be seated in the main dining area next time.

    Broth fee??? Anyone else notice?

Good to eat all the protein you want and veggies too. The staff is helpful but don't answer too many questions.

This was my first time at Hot Pot. Sooooo gooood I went two days in a row. The restaurant was nice inside and easy to navigate. Servers were decent, it was hard to find someone to help the day I went honestly but I just chalked it up to them being busy

50% off on your birthday and $2 broth fee per guest.

This location is always my favorite hot pot place. The wait is never too long, and there is easy parking in the neighborhood. We came with friends yesterday and found out Happy Lamb has made some changes to their menu. The birthday guest is no longer free but now gets 50% off the price. In addition, each guest is now charged a $2 broth fee. We always choose the premium AYCE, but has it always been only five meats (2 beef, 2 lamb, and 1 pork) included in the regular AYCE hot pot?

We came here for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. Our family is always in the mood for hotpot year round, and my mom recommended this spot because they had private dining rooms. She had called ahead to make a reservation for 6 adults and 2 kids (2 high chairs) and requested a private room. Our party not only had two kids under 2 years of age, but if you could imagine, we were toting 2 strollers, 2 backpacks, and we all had heavy winter coats. We were initially assigned to a semi-private dining tool that had three long tables in an alcove towards the middle of the restaurant. It was a tight fit and while we "only" had six adults, our strollers and high chairs and ability to move around comfortably without bothering anyone was restricted by the layout of the semi-private room. We requested if our party can move to a fully private room, near the back of the restaurant (that can seat up to 12), and thankfully, they accommodated us. Honestly it took a little convincing and we had to make a case because they said those fully private rooms were booked. Viewing our strollers (however sleek/compact/modern they make them nowadays), eyeing the highchairs, the distance between baby and boiling broth, and perhaps putting themselves in our shoes, they accommodated (relented). The fully private room is very comfortable and I recommend specifying that room when making a reservation, otherwise they may put you in the semi-private room based on your party size. We ordered the premium AYCE and it was a great experience overall. I've been to their other location in Chinatown, and I like the Bridgeport location better, especially their AYCE set-up. Parking is a bit tricky, you'll probably need to find metered street parking. But I love their little buffet of non-hotpot items like fried rice, egg rolls, french fries, mantou buns, crab rangoon. It's provides a nice mix of items. My dad really liked the fancy fish you get with the premium price, but aside from that, I think most people are plenty happy with the standard AYCE options. 4 stars!

Solid AYCE hotpot spot! The restaurant is spacious, well-lit, and has comfortable seating. The value is great--$27.95 for regular AYCE and $32.95 for premium, which is pretty reasonable for what you get. The meat quality was good for an AYCE place, and I liked the setup where you order meats from the menu while grabbing everything else (veggies, fish balls, noodles, etc.) from the buffet bar. The hotpot broths were okay for an AYCE spot, but I've definitely had better. My only other complaint is that some of the items at the buffet bar were mislabeled, which made it a little confusing. But overall, a great spot for hotpot, and I'd definitely come back!

Went with my wife for a weekday lunch and loved it. Clean comfortable dining room with quick friendly service. Both servers were able to explain the process of hot pot dining and made suggestions. We went with one traditional broth and spicy for the other side. We got beef, lamb, shrimp balls and additional item s from their massive buffet. Also had a nice selection of sauces that you can mix and match to make your own dipping sauces. Very reasonably priced for all the food.

I come here often with my boyfriend or my friends, the service is always great and there's lots of selection for veggies, protein, sides, and desserts etc. 4 stars only because theres always flies in the dining area and buffet area which does gross me out a bit, hopefully they fix this problem or mitigate the fly population here

Still the best all you can eat hot pot in Chicago for an inexpensive flat fee unlike the hot pot a la cartes where you end up spending $80 per person and barely ate anything! You can reserve a private room for groups of six or more. Service was excellent. Street parking is easy to find or take the subway/bus. This newer location is much larger than their Chinatown location.

We ordered like the PERFECT amount of food and best variety. Roast duck: I honestly don't know if I've ever had duck before, but I'm a duck believer now. The skin on theirs was the perfect crispy shatter texture and the duck was sooooo juicy! I don't know why I was always so worried about it being gamey. They give you fluffy steamed bao buns, a sauce, and scallions on the side as well as duck fried rice! Turnip cake: Obviously a must any time I come to dim sum. I've never seen turnip in any other form than this. Japanese salt & pepper tofu: My FAVORITE dish ever. Any fried salt & pepper tofu always makes me happy. They use a creamy egg-like tofu and the outside is lightly crispy with amazing aromatics stir fried in. Steamed white rice on the side is perfect with this. Loved everything else my dinner buds picked and we were super full by the end! Service was good and food came out fast and scorching hot! ***Parking in the area is treacherous (not the restaurants fault, but reconsider driving if possible bc cell signal can be zero to none around the garages if you get lucky) ***Their website allows you to request a reservation as long as it's 3 hours before your desired time. We came on a Saturday evening around dinner time and there was plenty of room for us to get a table immediately as walk-ins!

I went with someone who knows the city well, and they recommended the duck fried rice. I had never tried it before, and it was absolutely delicious so flavorful and satisfying. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and I'm already looking forward to bringing my friends and family here next time. This is a tough one. Not happy at all. With all of the wonderful legendary Chinese places closing…read moreover the past few years (Kow Kow, Hong Min, Pekin House, and even the best egg rolls at Mee Mah), Sun Wah has been solid over the years- their whole duck is legendary and incredible. BUT, as wonderful as the food is, the last 5 visits have been dreadful. The angry waitresses are part of the deal, but when we're spending a few hundred bucks on dinner, enough is enough. Asking for extra sauce and being told NO- asking for extra bao wrappers and being told NO, asking for extra daikon for the duck when we're given a half full dish in the first place in unacceptable. And like I said, that's part of the deal. And the food is so good that you put up with it. But what happened last week was the last straw. We ordered egg rolls, 2 large dumpling soups, pot stickers, a whole duck, medium ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and for an appetizer, a medium BBQ pork. When the server brought the pork, first, it was cold. I guess that's also the deal. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes totally cold. But this time, and I'm not exaggerating, more than half of the order was pure white fat. Not fatty pork, white solid fat. we tried chewing git to see if there was any meat, but no. So, I finally got the servers attention and showed her. She looked at it, and then walked away. I assumed she was going to bring us a new order. Instead, the owner walked over. I showed her the 2 plates- 1 plate with half of the solid white fat, and the other plate with chewed up fat pieces. Instead of apologizing and bringing over a new order, she said "sometimes the pigs we get are very fatty". So I replied something like "sure I get that, but you can't serve this to customers" and " can you please bring us a new order of actual pork and not just a plate of fat"??? and she then looks down at both plates and says "you already ate it so we can't do anything. I tell her that, no, I didn't eat anything- you can see a plate with chewed up and spit out fat, but she literally WALKS AWAY. So then of course we wait for her to bring a new order over, but that never happens. And we're loyal customers for many many years, and she knows us. This extreme lack of care for your longtime customers is nauseating. Like I said, we've put up with it for years because we love the food (as well as putting up with the many health code violations over the years), but after this huge fuck you from the owner over a few bucks worth of pork? We're done. And our friends are done. This rude pathetic refusal to admit that you're serving inedible food and take care of your loyal customers with a few dollars in pork will now cost you THOUSANDS of dollars every year, because we have now told 20 of our friends to stop going, and they all agreed with us. A few dishes, like the Duck Fried Rice, Pork Belly, and Beef Noodle Soup, were actually pretty solid. But the rest of the night was just so frustrating that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The Jiaozi were the first big letdown. The menu said they were beef short rib and bone marrow, but they didn't taste like that at all. The filling was just super mushy and the flavor was just weird. The manager and the food runner were nice when we mentioned it, but our actual server was a disaster. When we tried the Goat Noodles, all we could taste was cumin. It was so overwhelming that it covered up everything else. We couldn't even tell if there was actually any goat shoulder in there. When we told our waiter, she couldn't care less. She got totally defensive, wouldn't even listen to us, and just said, "Oh, I told you when you ordered that the dish is cumin forward" and walked away. It got worse when the bill came. She was holding on to the payment machine so hard and almost yanked it right out of my friend's hand. She was staring at it to see what we were tipping. It was so awkward and incredibly rude.
