What a wonderful find! We were greeted warmly and shown into a nice, but casually elegant dining space. Service throughout was warm and present and really kind. They also helped with our selections when we had questions. The thing I appreciated most was the timing of courses. Nothing rushed and each course had enough time to enjoy it, but there were no lags in service. The food was good to great and the standouts were the lobster/beet salad and the shrimp toast. The latter is a must. We were really impressed with the wine list; I saw some of my favorites on there and the list is lengthy with everything offered by the glass as well as bottle. The dessert was the weakest part of the meal, but we may have chosen poorly. A neighboring table had a soufflé that wasn't listed, but looked awesome. I love the idea of a Chinese tasting menu and was looking forward to trying Han 202, but I personally thought the food was just ok. The price is affordable for a tasting menu, so I think you just need to expect what you're paying for. For the starters for example, the smoked salmon salad only had one piece of smoked salmon. Most of the base entrees are more simple, so you'll probably also end up wanting to upgrade so the cost will be higher. They gave us a free sashimi dish to try on the house which was nice, and I thought the service was good and attentive! I think Han 202 is a decent option if you want a more affordable tasting menu, but personally I thought the food wasn't that tasty so I wouldn't come back. read more

Me and my two friends had a reservation on a Friday and had a wonderful experience! We each tried different dishes from the 4-course meal and all of them were delicious! I had the Lobster Beet salad, shrimp toast (a huge portion!! Easy to share), Duck breast in Szechuan sauce, and a lemon cheesecake. Lovely, small restaurant in Bridgeport. The area it's in is quiet and finding parking is very easy. This was my 4th visit but 1st time getting an order to go. Han 202 has a prix fixe menu consisting of 4 courses at a very reasonable price- $35. Can't beat it. And the food is really wonderful. If you're dining in, it is BYOB and they charge a $2 cork fee. On this visit, I ordered the lobster tail salad, shang hai dumplings (appetizer), duck breast in a spicy sauce (entree) and finished w a slice of lemon cheesecake. Everything was great. I wasn't sure how my food would be once I got home but other than the condensation in the lobster and dumplings (which was expected), they all traveled well. The beet and sauce with the lobster paired very well. The dumplings were good but didn't blow me away. The meat didn't have much flavor on its own but the sauce it came with gave it that kick it needed. The duck breast was great - and those veggies and sauce. Very good. I was stuffed by the time I got to dessert, but I'm no quitter! Lol. I found room for it and it was good as well. Helped a friend move and he told me he would get me dinner. I went with the lobster salad for salad option looked like something you'd find in a fine dining restaurant. My next course was the salt & pepper calamari. It was very savory, enjoyed it very much. For my main entree went with plum lamb chops and add to order rice because it didn't come with rice. The highlight for me was the ginger ice cream and almond cake, which was not too sweet! I order the shrimp toast, Lobster Tail with Red Beet and Honey Mustard Sauce, and Salmon with Malaysian Chili Sauce. I should've mixed it up more and not done all seafood. We went to celebrate a birthday and had an awesome time. All of the food was delicious and with the prefix menu, it was easy to make selections for a great experience. We started with the crab and cucumber salad and the lobster tail salad. Both were great! We then had the Cajun quail and salt and pepper calamari for our appetizers, and the kitchen provided us a tuna tartare on the house. The salt and pepper calamari had great bold flavors and was a cool new riff on fried calamari. The tuna tartare was my favorite dish of the night - I was so glad that they surprised us with that. The fish was clearly a high quality and very fresh. For our entrees, we ordered the shrimp and the rack of lamb with a side of a veggie fried rice for the table. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and was incredibly moist. The shrimp was our favorite of this course; the veggies that accompanied it brought a great freshness and snap. I love the idea of the prix fixe menu as I feel like Chinese food is often thought of as cheap and unsophisticated in the U.S., so I'm glad that Han 202 is able to showcase Chinese cuisine in an upscale manner. I got the smoked salmon salad, honey walnut shrimp, red snapper, and lemon cheesecake. My friend chose the arugula salad, salt and pepper calamari, lamb with plum sauce, and pecan chocolate tart. The walnut shrimp and calamari were both fresh and coated in a delicious batter, fried to perfection. The food here is very clean, well presented, made with high quality ingredients and unique. Every time I come here I walk away with a happy palette and pants too tight. Thanks to their French inclusion in their food, you get to try Chinese food with French influenced flavors such as truffle and mustard. Very good! The space is also very beautiful and well decorated! I love checking out fine dining establishments and restaurants owned by people of color, and it's nice to see Chinese food being cooked and elevated by Chinese people. I think Chinese French fusion is interesting and fun, and this place came highly recommended to me by a friend, so I and two other friends checked it out one Friday night. Most of the dishes were good, but the lobster tail and the rack of lamb especially stick out as exceptional. I would give this place a four stars for food except I thought the dessert options were pretty basic and disappointing, and I also didn't love the service and wait time for food. We came in with coupons that they offer at the front of their restaurant that give a $5 discount or something like that, but when we tried to redeem them, the waitress pretty rudely said "No, that's not a coupon." Even though I kid you not, the business card-sized piece of paper literally said the words "COUPON" on the side. We let it go, but the service continued to not be too great, where I tried to order after my friend, but the waitress we insisted go clockwise instead, which was pretty strange. We also waited a really long time for each of our courses. We had a 6:30 reservation and the meal took a couple of hours, which would be fine if we were eating slowly, but there were large gaps in between each of our courses. All in all, I'd say the food was good - rack of lamb was excellent, and the lobster tail with the beets was also exquisite. The calamari was good but not amazing. The reviews made me extremely excited & after our appetizer things unfortunately just went downhill for me. The interior is small & quite outdated however I'm impressed with what merely four people handling everything from service to cooking. The one cocktail we had was good. Twas a Manhattan with very good balance. My wife's arugula salad was decent which was served with truffle oil with almost no truffle flavor. My appetizer was the lobster salad with beet which had nice presentation & got me ripe with anticipation. My wife's walnut shrimp was tasteless & as a person who's lactose intolerant I dared not to try the condensed milk sauce. Our entrees were boring & pretty evocative any other mediocre food. Those were the shrimp with spicy garlic sausage & red snapper. The desserts tasted like store bought items that were on this side of stale. I think the place has tons of potential & its quite possible we simply ordered the wrong things. I'd definitely return with my expectations managed much better & id order their extensive drink list which includes my favorite whisky from Thailand. Everything we got was good to excellent Our waitress was very efficient and No Nonsense a younger man who was one of the chefs came out a couple times to deliver some items very pleasant and took pride in his work. I ordered the crab meat with cucumber, beef dumpling with celery and capers, genernal tso's chicken with spicy tangy sauce, and semi-sweet chocolate mousse. I never wanted the menu to end! My girlfriend enjoyed everything she ordered as well and I was envious of her ordering the salt and pepper calamari. By far the best thing we had that night! I started with the Smoked salmon, watercress, caper balsamic vinaigrette, followed by salt and pepper calamari , diced onion and jalapeno, next, shrimp and scallop with spicy garlic sauce and for dessert raspberry tartlet, with whip cream.
