I loved the combo, and we especially loved the dressing. This latest meal, ordered today tastes like a cheap knockoff of what the food used to be. Will never order again. Fairly average food. I ordered delivery and thought the food was fair, but nothing special. Portion sizes were also pretty standard, it wasn't packed or anything. Chicken Katsu wasn't super crispy and was lighter. It was pretty soft but still tasted good, only would be much better with crispiness. They placed the katsu sauce outside instead of inside the box which meant more food (as some places do place it inside). There was plenty of katsu sauce so I appreciated that. General Tso's Chicken was pretty average. Kind of resembled Orange Chicken rather than General Tso's as there was a lack of spice - it tasted more sweet with the sauce. read more

Quite possible the best teriyaki in the area. It tasted like they used peanut oil when cooking the teriyaki. The bento boxes had a ton of food and I was able to have left overs for lunch the next day. The tempura was fresh and hit the spot. Not a fan of their rolls unfortunately. They had chunks of pork in them and wasn't really my style but my partner ate them. There wasn't anything wrong with them but I tend to like rolls with more veggies and only a bit of meat. I was surprised to get an entire plate of salad. It was amazing and I was able to share it with my partner, too. The perks of eating inside :) read more

Great tasting food, large portions, and quick service! We ordered a bento box and general Tso chicken meals. We were brought egg drop soup and house salad. Excellent tasting, hot egg drop soup, and cold house salad. The salad dressing is wonderful. Just as we finished up our main dishes arrived. Tasted so good we shared each others food. We do that when the food tastes really good. We tried, but couldn't eat all the food and ended up asking for take home boxes. We will be returning in the very near future. The restaurant recently came under new management and the future of the restaurant is looking very bright! Such wholesome workers here! The place is under new management, and the food here great!! The prices are great, and the portions are huge - def worth and they even have lunch specials. Everything tasted fresh and and not too salty. The inside was very clean too. I've been thinking about stopping by here a while and seeing if they can give Happy Hana (my favorite teriyaki in the area) a run for their money. I'm so glad I did! I ordered a Crunch Monster Roll, which was shrimp tempura, cucumber, cream cheese and crunch flakes. The good? The pieces were MASSIVE. At least two pieces in one! The bad? The pieces were MASSIVE! Very messy-but I ate every last bite of it. I only wish there was more substance inside-the shrimp tempura and cream cheese was very small. By the way, I noticed there were only three sushi rolls on the menu-it looks like it was pared down significantly from previous pictures. That was a bit of a bummer. I also got crab rangoons, which are a weakness of mine. They seemed to be a bit overdone, but when you bit into them they were warm and moist. They tasted more cream cheese than crab, which is fine with me! I got chicken breast tempura and paid $2 for a fried rice upcharge. So. Much. Food! I was so pleased to see how much chicken I got! Well worth the $10.95! The teriyaki sauce is THICK. Like syrup thick, so I'm glad they put it on the side. I ended up dipping the chicken in the sauce as opposed to pouring it on. The chicken reminded me of a katsu-type texture as opposed to oily, as some places taste/look. The fried rice was firm and filling, with onions, peas and eggs. I didn't need to add soy sauce to anything which is always a bonus. I will definitely be coming back to try more things! read more

Best bubble tea I've ever had! Even beat the ones in Chinatown Seattle. Thick, creamy with a recent addition of several including my favorite- avocado. They also recently redecorated. It's clean, uncluttered and more modern than the usual dusty plastic flower collection and array of dying house plants. The food is good, as always. Large portions with plenty for leftovers and competitively priced. The reason for the 4 stars is they don't offer Tempura Prawns in a meal, which is odd. It's either an appetizer or a combo with chicken. read more

Have to re-rate. I stopped in yesterday and got a spider roll and shrimp tempura. Both rolls were spot on. Crunchy shrimp and very fresh and tasty avocado. While I was there the owner gave me a huge container of miso soup for free and also informed me of a new menu AND new prices. They used to only have 3 sushi rolls, now there are 24! They also drastically reduced the cost. Last week a spider roll and a shrimp tempura were each 11.99, now, they are 6.95 and 7.95. I will be going back again soon....(today). Love it. read more

The food and the portions are awesome. The California roll is the best I've had. Prices are probably a little bit low for what you're receiving. I found this place because I was on a search for a new 'go-to' teriyaki spot since the one I like on 100th burned down unfortunately. I believe it's family owned: the parents handle the back of the house and the daughter takes care of the front of the house. She has great customer service and polite. The food is obviously delicious and for the price, they give you a substantial amount of food. Food is fresh, never pre-made. You can taste the quality of the food. Come try out their food. I recommend the tempura sushi roll; it's amazing! read more

Very friendly staff! I stopped by here because I had gotten car sick and puked and needed to clean myself up, and they did not think twice to let me use their restroom and even let me have some of their complimentary candy at the register to freshen my breath. (I did gargle lots beforehand!) Very clean restaurant, the woman at the register was super nice and welcoming, and the bathroom smelled good. I've eaten here before but had it delivered. The food was as expected, no complaints. Now that I've been inside and know how kind the staff are I will definitely be giving them more of my support by being a return customer. read more

We ordered from Grubhub. It was quick for 4 orders. We all got the sesame chicken, it was great! Fresh and still really hot! Every chicken piece is good and not those pieces you get that are over done and hard. It really looks homemade but I'm not sure. Overall a good experience for us. Without a doubt, this is the best teriyaki I have found in the greater Tacoma area. After moving here from west Seattle and desperately missing my favorite teriyaki spot. I have spent countless lunches trying all the local spots and looking for consistently very good teriyaki. I finally found it. Food was cooked perfectly, veggies were fresh, the place was super clean, and the sauce was great. I almost completely gave up on my efforts as every other place I have been between north Tacoma and Lakewood has been a complete let down. This place definitely has to be considered some of the best teriyaki in the Tacoma area. I challenge anyone who thinks otherwise. Don't take my word for it. Try them all and then try this place. Love this place! The owner is kind and does not hold back on portions. The quality of food is also great. We had a couple times where we felt something wasn't completely right and we addressed the issue. One example was we didn't get one salad with one of our meals, but we later found out that it wasn't included with the meal I ordered. Yet, she still gave us a side plate! Oh my! How utterly things have changed. We tried this place again a few days ago, and just had to leave. After sitting for ten minutes, listening to a blaring TV set while at the same time listening to blaring pop music over the speakers, we were finally greeted. We asked if either the TV or the Music be turned off, and whichever was still blaring turned down, we were told that nothing could be done. Really?? The TV is right there - hit the "off" button! She was actually really quite rude about it.... wow. Could she not understand we could barely talk to her let alone each other over the blaring noise of both a TV show and the radio? Why be so rude about it? The interior was all weirdly rearranged, with a new menu - there has clearly been a new ownership change that has not been properly reflected on Yelp. Beware! This is NOT the same restaurant we gave a 5-star review to. I wish I could actually retract that review, because it's no longer fair or accurate to leave it up. We left without even ordering - the environment was just so awful with the dueling blaring sound sources and the lack of any other customers at noon, it was a clear indication we weren't alone in our opinions. What a very Happy experience! My sushi chef obviously delights in his profession and in customer service. Along with lovely visual presentations of the delicate seaweed salad, the miso soup in a wooden bowl, and the awesome Seahawks and Rainbow rolls (yes, I was hungry for good food), I can report the choice of a single lemon slice just between 2 sushi pieces that gave just the slightest addition of citrus flavoring to the sashimi topped piece. So thoughtful. And to add to the experience, Hoon sent his sweet waitress with an 'on the house' carved orange in the shape of what looked like a bunny. It wasn't just to admire...in the middle of the body, orange pieces were arranged to eat with a small dollop of whipped cream on top. Lovely, simple yet elegant little shop. read more

General's chicken was good too, just enough spice. Went at lunch time and people kept coming in. Waitress is nice and works hard. It's very clean and will go again to try other dishes.
