10/10 teriyaki spot in Tacoma, Washington I went to Teriyaki Kitchen yesterday and loved it so much that I brought my grandmother back today for more. The food is beyond good seriously some of the best teriyaki I've had in some years , Everything looked stunning when they handed it over (the presentation is on point! and the flavors were perfectly balanced. What really stood out was the service. The staff works super fast and efficient we barely waited at all and they were incredibly nice and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you're craving teriyaki, this place is a must-try. We'll definitely be back again soon! Highly recommend. read more

Ok, I tried their Beef Fried Rice and liked it a lot. Good portions. There was a Thai place in Arizona that I ordered Beef Fried Rice from all the time about 25 years ago and it has always been my base reference for great fried rice. This place comes pretty close to that. read more

I purchased 2 meals yesterday (chicken teriyaki and spicy chicken teriyaki. One hour later I was in the bathroom absolutely sick for an hour before going to bed I'll. Today, I returned to the restaurant to simply ask for a refund. After explaining my experience, not only did she refuse to honor my request, she challenged me demanding a doctor's note. I've lived in Tacoma for 4 years now. We still haven't found any decent Asian food. We ordered from Teriyaki Kitchen so we didn't have to cook. We ordered Beef Bugugi, Chicken Teriyaki, Egg rolls, and Gypzas. The Bugogi was very tender and flavourful. Also I came with fried rice with was the best I found a round this area. Teriyaki chicken (Normally Not my favorite) was So Tender and not over cooked, and very flavourful too. I'm impressed the flavor, and the care of how they prepare each dish. Real Egg rolls, and crispy Gyozas. I have been back and Teriyaki Kitchen didn't disappoint. I highly recommend Tertyaki Kitch (a hole in the wall on the Eastside) for quality and flavor . read more

If I could give no star I would! I had a really bad experience here. It's near the gym and I just finished a great workout and wanted to try this place out. I love teriyaki and some yakisoba. I ordered the veggie yakisoba and the Kung pao chicken. When I got home the order was wrong, I instead got fried rice with chicken, beef and pork! That wasn't what I ordered! My wife can't eat pork so I called the store and told the man who took my order that he gave me the wrong item, not even an apology but he also said "ITS YOUR FAULT!" How is that my fault? He said that he called out what he was putting in the bag and that I went over and took the item without checking myself. He later then said oh yah you order the veggie yakisoba, can you pick it up? I told him I'm already home and it's inconvenient for me to drive back to pick up the mistake he made! The he goes again and say it was my fault! Wait..... that made me very upset! I work in the F&B industry and I know for a fact even though it's the customers fault YOU DO NOT SAY THAT DIRECTLY! He then said the fired rice was more expensive then the one I originally bought! Then he proceed to say that I should have checked first! I answered back and said listen here you put the food in the bag! You looked at me and gave me the sign that this was mine! The king pao chicken was there but not the veggie yakisoba! He then said ok you come pick up next time! I was done arguing! Not even a apology nothing Never again come back here! I originally did not have an intention of coming here but it just happened to be right next to H&R Block and I was hungry AND I was craving Teriyaki so it was perfect. I was super excited to dig into my food and whatnot but... it didn't really go so well. I noticed right away it is a small Korean family owned business that has their daughter working up front while the parents work in the kitchen. She was working alone and there were quite a bit of customers in the tiny cramped space and a few people in line to order togo. I never thought, it would take 20 minutes to order my food and have it come out... just so I have 5 minutes to scarf it all down... [I am a super slow eater as well].... I didn't really want to take it home either so I tried to eat as much as I can in literally 5 minutes. I even had to stare at the clock as I took each bite. That was stressful. I mean doing taxes was supposed to be stressful enough. I don't know how I ate that food without getting indigestion of eating too fast. Other than that, for the food... I ordered the Lunch Special Chicken Teriyaki I think it was $5.95 which is quite a large portion for it's price. I liked that part. Portion is good. The teriyaki sauce was a bit salty... so I couldn't do my usual mixing with the rice. I just ate what I could. It was decent. I can't say it's one of the best teriyaki I have had though. I used to really like this place. But I've always had an issue with the young Asian man's attitude at the front desk. I'm a steady paying customer, but he never greets me or says hello or thank you. As soon as an older Caucasian man walks in his whole demeanor changes and he's extremely nice to him. I just don't get it. On top of this, I keep finding weird things in my food. I asked for vegetarian tofu teriyaki, and in the sauce there are little pieces of chicken. So beware if ur vegetarian. Lastly, I found a metal wire in my salad this last time which really messed me up. They have tons of issues with the health department. Just Google it. Until they can figure it out, I'm done with this place. read more

I'll say first of all that my wife and I come here monthly. We've never had a single problem. It's hands down the best teriyaki in the area. My go-to is the General Tso's chicken, and my wife adores the orange chicken. We've tried a few other things, always spot on. We're also a big fan of the egg rolls, they're really well made, full of flavor, and not overly greasy. They've got a pleasant crunch, but the wrapping is still soft and chewy. Service-wise, the gentleman working the front counter is super friendly and patient. I also met one of the gentleman who cooks, and he's very friendly. I had an issue with the store closing early without it being posted. He explained the situation and was very friendly and understanding. And it never hurts that food is nearly always ready in 5-10 minutes. I'll keep coming back! read more

My husband and I love to come here. There is another teriyaki place downtown that we go to, but I prefer this one. The sauces are the perfect consistency. The interior of this restaurant is kind of run down. Chairs and tables are rinky-dink, wobbly, etc. But, if you can get past the decor, such as it is, and concentrate on the food, you won't be disappointed...unless you're just generally a grouchy, complaining idiot! I don't know what happened to Rustin B. but I've gone to this place three times since my wife and I moved to Tacoma in July 2015 and we have loved everything we ordered. The portions are huge, if you ask them to make sure the vegetables are tender, they will make sure of it! (I can't stand nearly raw broccoli in my Asian foods). The guys that work there are bend-over-backwards friendly and the food is just amazing. Some Teriyaki places salt the hell out of their dishes and make the food nearly inedible. Not so, Teriyaki Kitchen. Everything is salted just right and I'm pretty sure that they could take out some of the salt if one was to request that? Our food came pretty quickly, for a place that was packed. And customers do get to enjoy the free homemade soup and/or hot tea while waiting for meals to come out of the kitchen. I don't have any complaints except they ought to relocate the soda machine so that customers don't have to lean over bags and boxes of to-go orders. Best Teriyaki and Chinese in the area IMO. The service is awesome and they're always willing to work with you on special requests. The ability to substitute chicken breast on the chicken dishes is good to me, since I'm not a fan of dark meat chicken. If you order to go, check your order before you leave. There was a small teriyaki place where I grew up that I compare every teriyaki place to and I'm so thankful that Teriyaki Kitchen is pretty equally comparable. Tried their teriyaki first and while the sauce it's a bit thicker then I'm used to the flavor was spot on and the grilled char on the chicken was incredible. The next time we tried the orange chicken and sweet & sour; my old hood has them beat on the sweet & sour, but not by much and the orange chicken...oh my...I love that you can actually taste legit oranges.
