I entrusted my dog's grooming to an employee named Henry, whom I believe misled me regarding his capabilities. When giving specific instructions, Henry admitted he wasn't a professional groomer, but assured me he could handle the job even though I offered to pay a cancellation fee. He said he didn't want his time wasted and was very persistent that my dog get groomed. He said he would prep my dog for the certified groomer who would be doing the trim at the end. Upon picking up my dog, I was shocked and upset to find that she had received a full haircut instead of the requested trim, which was completely unsuitable for her breed (a woolly husky). The cut penetrated her undercoat which allows her to regulate temperature in the summer. Henry, rather than taking responsibility, argued that I had requested a haircut which was "appropriate for a husky", which is untrue. Fortunately, the groomer, Karyn, who understood the situation apologized sincerely. Upon closer inspection at home, I discovered that my dog still had matting, had a very uneven haircut, was unexpectedly covered in oil (which was not the case when I dropped her off), and her feet were still dirty,--issues Henry had claimed he would address but did not. Following my initial concerns, I had a phone call with the owner of the Dirty Doodle, which further highlighted their unprofessionalism and unwillingness to accept responsibility for the poor service. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this establishment, particularly for owners of long-haired dogs. It appears they may be better suited for grooming short-haired breeds. I had to get my dog groomed elsewhere same day.

I talked to Sarah (one of the groomers that shares space with them) and she completely understood the situation, as well as how "needy" he would be since every time he had been dropped off somewhere lately, surgery or something scary had happened. Sarah was able to schedule him in just a few days, I dropped the boy off first thing in the morning and he was definitely soothed by her calming personality. When I picked him up a couple of hours later, he looked terrific and wasn't as crazed as he usually is after he has been without me! Sarah is in a room by herself, so it was just a one-on-one with music, so he wasn't freaked out by a lot of dogs running around and barking. Sarah understood the situation of a sweet pup who is just getting older with medical issues (cancer and arthritis), and that made me feel so much better. She operates her grooming business as All that Jazz Grooming, you can reach her there or connect through Karyn at the Dirty Doodle (love that name!!). Woof Woof!!

The grooming itself always looks great, and that's the only reason we've kept coming back. Unfortunately, the service and communication have become too difficult to overlook. My mother-in-law even drives an hour and a half from Savin Hill, leaving early just to beat traffic to get him here on time. We now know we shouldn't have bothered rushing to make it. We completely understand that grooming a 70-pound doodle is a big job, but having a 10am appointment that isn't finished until 8pm with one update coming 8 hours later or even an apology for the delay just isn't reasonable. We really want to support local businesses and we're not here to tell anyone how to run theirs, but if the current schedule is too packed, it might be better to take on fewer clients each day. The grooming results are excellent, but the overall experience has become too frustrating to continue

My daughter also takes her hyperreactive dog that one day it'll be loving you and the next day it breaks out the switchblades. They seem to have the knack, every time they just cut Malas nails and we're in and out. I would recommend A Pet's Choice to anyone and everyone. Although because they are good, your appointment might be a month or two out.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at PetSmart…read more I took my dog to a scheduled appointment at the Banfield Pet Hospital located inside the store. Since Banfield was open, I had to enter through PetSmart, which is the only way to access the clinic. When I was leaving after my appointment, I briefly stopped to look at a dog collar that caught my attention. Immediately, an employee approached me in a very rude and aggressive manner and told me to leave because the store was closed. I explained that I was only there because my dog had a scheduled Banfield appointment and that I was already on my way out. I also told him there was no reason to be so rude. Instead of calming down, he continued to treat me with disrespect and hostility all the way to the exit. I have never felt so unwelcome and mistreated as a customer. Because of this experience, I will never spend another dollar at PetSmart. I am also considering switching my dog's veterinary plan so that I never have to return to a location where customers are treated so poorly. It is unacceptable for employees to speak to people this way, especially those who are simply attending a scheduled veterinary appointment. PetSmart should do a much better job training employees on basic customer service and respect.
