Always excellent experience and service. This is the second time... second child and we couldn't be happier.

This review has nothing to do with the orthodontist or his services. Actually, he was very nice when we had our consultation. However, I do want to speak to the service we received form the person who gave us the estimate for the braces (we'll call her "Patty" even though I know that is not her name). After, not only calling and asking whether braces were covered under my insurance prior to our visit, I also gave "Patty" my children's father's insurance information. She let me know that they would be using my insurance because I was born before their father and who knows what else. I was fine with it. Patty showed me the write up of the estimate and even though insurance was supposedly added to the calculation, the monthly payment seemed too high. We had previously been to a couple of other orthodontists offices prior to having insurance coverage and the amount total price for braces given to us by "Patty" was pretty much the same. I just did not understand how that was the case. I even asked "Patty" if that included whatever the insurance covered and she said YES! I think because I agreed to having the boys get their braces while we were sitting there, she thought I was just going to sign up without questioning her about the insurance again. Something didn't feel right, so I told her I would be shopping around because I knew I could get a better deal elsewhere. We walked out of the office thinking I would just call other offices to get more quotes. When we got home, I looked over the estimates that she had given me and lo and behold, she DID NOT include the insurance coverage. Also, I went on my insurance's website and the office does not show up which means that my insurance does not cover. I would have hoped that when I called, the receptionist would have let me know that they did not accept my insurance. And even if she didn't, and we had gone through with this appointment, I would have hoped that "Patty" would have been honest and told us that the receptionist made a mistake and that my insurance didn't cover but that the total cash amount was xxxxx. Not only am I not taking my children there because they do not take insurance. Even if they did take my insurance, that place seems super shady. I'm sure this gal works off commission or something but deceiving people isn't good for business in the long run. I'm not advising not to go to this office but I would advise to make sure you read everything before you sign it because you obviously cannot trust this lady. read more

I have had my older child complete their braces at this office. This review is for my second child that comes to this office. Some notes to consider, is that this office is a hit or miss in regards to their service. You just hope you get a staff that understands the issues, and will address it with knowledge, as well as care. This latest incident pushed me to write this review so that future parents could consider several factors. The appointment is for new rubber bands and adjustments to the brackets. Standard appointment for braces. After the appointment was over, my son mentioned that the male staff was talking to another staff, about some personal stuff, unrelated to the job. I get it, they are co workers, they talked about what they plan to do that weekend. It happens. But what shouldn't happen is neglect the patient at hand. A few times it caused some discomfort, but my child, being in the position they were in, couldn't say much. (My child is a bit older, I assumed I could just let them go by themselves to get the treatment. So this is the first suggestion. Be sure to sit next to your child when things are being done. Otherwise you risk situations like this from happening.) Later that evening, my child mentioned that the brackets weren't holding the wire in place. It seems the rubber band was missing or something didn't get done properly? I'm not sure, but the wire would completely come off and poke my child's inner cheek. Obviously causing major discomfort. Fast forward to today. It's the Monday after the weekend (they are not available on the weekends), so I reached out to see about making an appointment as soon as possible. The first staff I spoke to, super polite, understanding, mentioned that the doctor was out of the office for the week. All the assistants were out, it's just the phone staff there that was available. Then after hearing what was going on, they mentioned they would look into other options to see about getting this fixed. They have other locations available, so I thought this might be the option they were referring to. Then, after a few minutes, a new staff gets on the line, and I can tell that she knew about the situation, but put the stop to any other options except to make an appointment next week. Mentioned that the doctor was super busy, and would only have certain hours to check up on this. This schedule unfortunately would require they take a day off from class. Different staff, but didn't offer any other suggestion. (Note, I'm assuming they knew about the situation even though they answered the call as if I just called in. This is because they didn't once asked what the problem was, or responded like the first staff). So to summarize some of my concerns... and for parents and patients that would consider this location. 1) It's a hit or miss with the staff. Some staff amazing, the next staff will not be as courteous and treats you like a burden. Same with the assistants. Of all the times I've sat next to my child, they were so caring, and patient. They did their jobs solidly. But this time, I took a phone call outside, thinking this would be a standard appointment, nothing to worry about, and bam.. now my kid is not feeling great, I feel like a crummy parent not addressing this more urgently, and frustrated that we have to return to get something done again which wasn't done properly the first time. 2) They are closed normally Tuesday and Wednesday, and on certain weeks out. The scheduling is very restrictive for after school hours, so expect to take your child out of class. Appointments are packed. When you visit, there will be a full room of patients waiting. I'm assuming the doctor/assistants that handle the work are only at this location for a certain number of hours, or they just don't need to work that many hours to run this location. They just opened a new location, much closer to my area, so I hope that will be an option. read more

Happy Braces has been awesome from the start my children both had consultation's done and were put on a plan to have their braces on. The doctor and team have been very clear and honest about everything from start. The front desk ladies are always so helpful, I have been there during rush hour and they were very quick. The facility is always so clean and put together. The team has a really good system and the doctor is always so nice, helpful and doesn't rush thru things. I am very happy with our experience and excited to see my children beautiful teeth when they are done. read more

Warning!!!! Don't trust this place. If you have an account that your making payments on, carefully monitor it. Happy Braces Orthodontics billed my insurance who paid more than what was expected, resulting in patient responsibility less than what they collected from me through Ortho bank. I've made multiple attempts to get my $1k+ refund, gave them copies of receipts and proof of amount owed to me and they still refuse to refund me money owed. read more

Place sees way too many people with not enough staff to compensate. Miss an appointment? They can't see you for five more weeks. Policy is $50 for a missed appointment. I don't see why because you can be on time for your appointment and they won't see you for about 30 min. In reality, someone missing an appointment is doing them a favor. It wasn't this bad when we first started coming here with my two other kids. I don't know what happened. read more

I took my daughter for the first time, this place is very welcoming the doctors and staff are very professional and very nice. The doctor was great she was able to detect the issue my daughter is experiencing, said she'll monitor her teeth's growth. The TC was amazing and kind to us. Thank you I highly recommend. read more

This place is amazing with the right staff, Angela was such a sweetheart when doing my teeth. Angela was sweet, kind, and always made sure I'm okay. But another time another lady did my teeth and was so rude she talked back to my mother and made me cry from how bad the pain was. The customer service is really weird. Sometimes things run really smooth and workers are friendly....other times it's total disaster. Front desk isn't talking to the back. Super long wait time to be seen. Staff forgetting to have gloves on when starting to work on my sons teeth. To name a few. I didn't have braces as a kid so I didn't really know what to ask for, now that I do I would never recommend this place to anyone. Some feedback for Managment- if you are going to cater to children you need to be mindful that most teens can't miss class for an appointment. You may benefit from having more appointments available after 2pm and weekends. This process is rough physically on the kids but the juggling act parents have to do for the appointments is a struggle. Looking back I would have waited till my son turned 18 because it wasn't worth all the class time he missed. Since my son still has an uneven bite plate and overbite. My son went in for one appt that we had to go in person to make. This is place is soooo hard to get a hold off. I've left 4 messages over the span of 2 months. To set up a follow up. And no one has ever called back. Ever. I finally got a hold off someone and they just left me on hold for 10 minutes. We decided to go to a different office and will just let the new unfortunately deal with whatever they might need from this one. read more

My daughter is in the process of straightening her teeth here at Happy Braces. Let me tell you, she was absolutely nervous/scared to get them put on in the beginning but the staff is so friendly and reassuring that she loves coming in! That makes me as a parent happy that we made the right choice in selecting Happy Braces for her. We never have to wait long to be attended and on the rare occasion that we make it in early they don't wait till our scheduled appointment time but instead get us in the first available seat. I'm am Very Leary when it comes to Orthodontics. I had a horrible situation happen to me in the past at a different dentist but coming here has been really great! Rosa Is My Favorite Assistant. I request her every time I come. The first time I Came she was my tech and I was so scared but she literally talked me through it and made me feel so very comfortable. She relates to you and helps you in any way she can. She literally will not let you leave until you are comfortable with feel of the wires and confident in the look. I appreciate this. For the first time I actually enjoy having braces. Rosa is the best! read more

I was hoping this office would be different from the other office we left (Western Dental) but it is proving to have the same downfalls. The wait times are anywhere from 30-45 minutes, and this is with an appointment. The last technician we got was not friendly or asked if I had any questions or concerns. The doctor had the same attitude. And to make matters worst one of the rubber bands from my sons braces popped off and now we have to wait who knows how long to have someone see him to fix their mistake. read more

Got my 2nd pair of braces today. Martina and Dee were really helpful and made the experience really enjoyable. Mostly my fault for getting another pair, but they were really gentle and really down-to-earth professionals. Definitely recommend this office! Update: 3 months in and still happy with their services. Had the privilege working with Rosa and she has that gentle touch. They're very efficient with their scheduling, and are generally very helpful. Awesome job guys! read more

I started treatment at 28 and it lasted 18 month. Although this is adult treatment, I did not have black triangle like many others, because Dr Yousefi did everything he could to prevent them. Dr Yousefi made sure I was absolutely loving how my teeth looked before he took off my braces. Other than the doctor, Dee and Martina are so amazing! They are super knowledgeable and always made sure I had the least amount of pain while they worked on my teeth. Easy communication - Dr Yousefi, Dee and Martina really spent the time listen to your need and give good advise, even the office is so busy during the day. I consulted many other places before I decided to get my teeth done here- cheapest quote, flexible schedule (open on Saturdays), flexible treatment plan, flexible payment plan, and accept many insurance. My daughter was referred here when she was almost 9 because she has a very small jaw and needed to put in an expander. I was worried because she was young but the team at Happy Braces is awesome, particularly Martina. My daughter is very anxious at the dentist and fusses A LOT but Martina has so much patience for her. She never gets visibly frustrated with my daughter and makes her feel more comfortable. I have been looking for a while for an orthodontist for my child . I went to this office and i loved this practice. The dr is very kind and knowledgeable, the staff are caring and skilled. Very organized and clean place. The dr explained the treatment plan and made it clear and easy for me and my child to understand. I also can't complain about the price. If coming to this place in La Mirada I recommend seeing the doctor named Omid Mehdipour. He's the sweetest and explains things to you on what your child may need done. He doesn't pressure you, he lets you know if you decide to go with a different option and that is ok. My daughter and I went to him for her 6 month check up on 9/3/21 for braces and we loved him. My daughter even said she loved how he explained to us if we were to removed her teeth or not, what the outcome would be if we stayed with the teeth. He didn't talk to me rude he was really kind to me and my daughter unlike the other woman doctor that we saw the last time at my daughters check up. We will definitely will be making our appointments with doctor Omid Mehdipour from now on. read more
