Worst customer service I have ever received. "Happy Dave" isn't so "happy" and is extremely unprofessional with a "quick temper" My sister said she had used them before and were reasonably priced so I decided to give it a try (come to find out... not the same person but using the phone # of her previous movers) I've moved over 8 times in the last 12 years, recently did a state to state move, have used various moving companies and this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review because it was the worst experience of my life I was moving a 2BR apartment to a 1BR a few blocks away. I was paying for my furniture going to my place and the second bedroom set was being "paid for" by my family member and putting into a warehouse for storage. He came over, 3 hours after he scheduled with me and after going to the wrong address to do a "walk through" and quoted me a pretty steep price but I figured it would maybe change by the time he saw what I would get done. He requested a "deposit" in order to secure my date and it would go towards the move but had to understand the price was steep due to my furniture being "mirrored" and I had to give a deposit to make sure I'd use him Fast forward a few days later and he still continues to call me thinking I am the customer he confused me with the day be was to come over. Somehow he then lost my contact information and so I never heard from him again until the morning of my move. He apparently had been reaching out to my family member that was using him for the other bedroom set to facilitate MY portion move the next day because he lost my contact information. Moving day comes and I finally hear from him before 8am he's going to be at my place at 9am. He shows up and I walk through and show everything I've done on my own. I only had 14 boxes, bedroom set, couch, small desk, chair and 2 lamps to move (for me), I did the rest on my own so I kindly asked if the rate was still set or possibly a little less considering I moved everything else on my own. He raised his voice bc he clearly didn't like the question and said no bc I have mirrored furniture and my rate was to stay $1k. Is explained that was ok and nicely asked what he was charging my family member to make sure he was not including that bedroom set into my move pricing. Fast forward again and they first get lost going to the new place that was less than a mile away and since they are flustered feeling rushed they start dropping things. I watched them drop these items at the loading dock and one time heard him say "is she right there, did she see that" I continued on and just said "please be careful with my belongings they are fragile" I notice things here and there that are now bent, randomly wet, broken, stepping all over things on the floor that fell over breaking them, hand prints on furniture after I even I asked to wash hands before touching a light colored living room chair after they handled a dirty potted plant. I'd kindly point it out but due to the language barrier with the workers, wasn't getting anywhere. I finally had enough when they were almost done and I unwrapped an all mirror end table. The side of it was extremely cracked. I kindly pointed it out and at this time was also chatting with a friend on the phone at this point regarding another topic. She even heard all of this go down. I calmly asked for my key fob so I could go move my car and walked out. I came back to get something and He asked me how much the item cost, I told him, simple question and answer. He then lost his temper, laughed that my furniture couldn't cost that much. I then said that was rude and it dude but whatever. he then asked what should we do and I said idk take off a little from the move idk protocol here... that made things worse. He went off the rails so badly I had to defend myself, neighbors came to help, the leasing office was notified came up to mediate and witnessed it as well. He then was screaming he "wanted his money" something I never said he wasn't getting. He continued all of this in front of everyone. I handed over the check for the full amount he originally quoted plus random tax be never told me about - even though I had given a deposit already he did not apply it to my services. He then decided to get on the phone and bad mouth me to the family member taking the 2nd bedroom set and bother them at work claiming I didn't pay them which was a lie, my leasing office handed the check over to him on my behalf and I have the checkstub. Dave, your false narrative and response to my review completely proves the point of both the previous client and myself. You sir are completely unprofessional and should take a look in the mirror and reassess the way you do business with that temper of yours since the ONLY two reviews left for you are pretty similar and both extremely negative. You say that you have "HUNDREDS" of positive reviews yet these clients haven't felt inclined to leave one of those positive reviews to support your business? Ya ok... very interesting and another fabricated response from Happy Dave. Your response to my review is full of lies and is disgraceful. Worst customer service I've ever received from anyone. David aka "Dave" confirmed weeks in advance to help me move from a two bedroom apartment to another a couple of blocks away. He requested to visit my apartment in order to give me the correct pricing, to which I accepted. He canceled me twice before coming over just three days before my scheduled moving date. During the visit he stated that the moving needed four men and the whole day which I told him it was not true and I should be charged by the hour, like every other company does it (this is my 3rd move in 4 years, all of which have taken 3-5 hours with two men). He tried to charge me at least double the market price and then went on to criticize me personally before storming out of my apartment and slamming the door. His assistant respectfully offered apologies and told me this happens often. My wife was present, felt threatened and even cried. Fortunately, our 1yr old baby was not present at that time. Lastly, it is important to mention that he had already booked my slot before coming over to my apartment. By the time he came up to my apartment and saw an opportunity to over charge me he called the existing customer in front of me on speaker and cancelled on her stating that he has COVID and couldn't be there as scheduled. This person doesn't deserve any customers at all. I would strongly advise anyone who read this to avoid "Happy Dave" because he is anything but a happy person. read more
